They spent their life living in poverty and misery and in one day you people can snap your fingers and change everything about their lives who cares if it's an improvement they're still going to hate you most probably for being better then them in the first place

As a born Canadian - my heart is broken and because my country has been poorly managed I am planning to leave for a better life for my own children. The Liberal government has ruined our country that was great and sustainable. We are living in what feels like a socialist country with no protection to its people. Have mercy on us

Human race is and always has been for the most part a vile, violent and evil species. That is the definite constant throughout human history. It's almost fitting that the imminent environmental collapse will wipe most of us out, regardless if we are Christians, Muslims, rich or poor. Hopefully the few that will survive will be forced to re-imagine the human race as one entity away from tribalistic mentalities, which will lead to something significantly better.

Canada needs better immigration laws. Also better screening for those who are chosen to stay. I’ve Hurd of so many people coming to Canada just to live off of welfare and child support benefits, and many who actually want to stay to work and continue a career are deported.

Scapegoating? It's simple supply and demand, and nothing can change it. Socialism won't fix it, importing impoverished people won't fix it, legislation won't fix it. You have to attract people with the proper skillsets to make the country and city better. Having a booming population and no room to grow doesn't do that. The California Bay Area and Los Angeles area has already seen the problems this causes, companies and skilled workers are moving to places that they can afford to live and build companies. With more people comes less opportunities, Canada needs to learn from the mistakes of others. Do not take everyone, take those who want a better life but can also give back to the country.

For the past ten years all they built is condos for investment and no apartment for rent for the people ,my people we have to look very close to the people we put in power in every level of government in Canada.if we do not start now we will be in the same boat in the future. I would like to know how many past government officials that have invested into the housing market.then we will have a better knowledge on low income housing that are not being built.

As a child of immigrants, I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised at how sane and policy-based this comments section is when the issue is so aggravating to the public. It goes to show how badly the government at all levels has fumbled, and I can speak from my own experience that most immigrants and children of immigrants agree that we cannot let this many immigrants into the country without better integration and housing availability. It does not benefit ANYONE.

I like multiculturalism and this country is founded on immigration. But we need to put cap on each country when receiving them so to maintain the balance of good mix.\n\nI get bothered why this guy statistically divide white vs others. Look at Gardiner- it's constantly on construction mode. Hire more surgeons and make better family doctor system. This government only legalized marijuana and brought more problems. We used to live near Trinity bellwood and the park is now filled with used needles. \n\nAs for homelessness, it's always been there and it got worse during economic depression (2008 mortgage crisis) and current prime rate/inflation situation. Even if you study stats from government subsidized housing, most immigrants work and get out of help but the old immigrants (whites) usually don't flip out of the situation for generations. So there is no reason to tie and blame the Indians for our old problem of homeless population. Stay on point and stop tying it down with non-related issues.

If you own an apartment or rental be super careful about who you rent to. Check their assets, credit bureau, references, employment. Better to rent for less to get grade A tenants instead.

Just so people understand, the Landlord and Tenant Board is PROVINCIAL. If you claim to want a better Canada, start with learning about the country that we’re in. Also, hold your provincial premiers accountable.

My advise to landlords, do not rent to “such” people. Newcomers on work permits or student visas are a better bet because they will pay out of fear of losing their credit or status in Canada

immigration is the sold out left wings peoples way to please there corporate overlords. i am a hardcore union and labour guy flooding the work market with immigration workers limits our ability to negotiate for better pay meaning companies can take more.\n\ni am not against immigration in total to have growth in the west and fill in the birth shortfalls we need immigrants. but the amount the west has taken in is much greater than we can expect grow and only causes us to get homelessness and gettos while the haves struggles to raise wages. what the common man wants is reasonable figures of immigrations and due to the flood might mean the coming years 0 immigrants is on the table.

neighbor rented a house to a couple she was a teacher he was a nuclear power worker both good paying jobs they paid first and last and nothing more for 2 years he ended up paying them $10000.00 to move out so he could sell it before he lost it ....the LTB isnt on the landlords side this is why rentals are hard to find.....better off to use air band b or not rent at all

I got my PR in Canada in 2022, I went there and lived for 3 months and came back. I was better off in my home country than live in a rat race all my life in Canada freezing. Also I realise I was in Punjab instead of Toronto, wasn't expecting the quality of life which I was getting there.

I think it would be better if someone cannot afford to live in Toronto then to relocate. Living in Ontario is expensive especially in Toronto. Great assessment. My wife left Vancouver 22yrs ago. It was bad then and has only gotten worse. Sadly the residents would rather smoke a joint than vote for a conservative govt and attend a church. Forget about GOD can't be surprised when he forgets about you. That said Australia is not much better and getting worse by the day. The reason govts love immigrants is because they bring money in and are obivious to the local politics so the govts simply continue to introduce more and more corrupt policies every year. Even after they become citizens they remained divided on political thought because they tend to have a duality of mindset which says, if it all goes bad I will go back to where I came from. People are fighting each other without realizing that the real problem has always been the growing capital accumulation since the 1960s, which has led first-world countries to face this issue nowadays. I agree as a canadian canada is becoming too expensive to live in, a lot of people are choosing to leave. The gouv should make sure the immigrants who came do not go back as their countries are now better than canada
