US immigration system is broken but it's still the best in western world if you are in engineering, mathematics and tech. I studied and worked in US, moved to India for personal reasons. I realized its difficult to adjust back in India, and US will never let me naturalize, so I moved to Canada. But Canada has hardly any jobs of its own, most of people in tech here work for American companies. In US, even an aerospace, biomedical, virology or genetic engineering person can find job in his/her field despite being on job visa, but in Canada its very tough. \nFew weeks back, I met an Uber driver who came to Canada 4+ years back, mechanical/automative engineer and was not able to find a job in his field despite no need for license with advance education and many years of relevant experience. He became Canadian citizen few weeks back, and guess what, he received 2 job offers in US and was moving to US on TN visa. \nI am myself working on something in Canada that is not my specialization. In US, I can get multiple messages from top government contractors for scientist/researcher positions, but I could not work for them as I don't have citizenship. In canada, despite being a PR, I know many experienced people who are forced to drive uber or do survival jobs.

I dont really get it. My father was a farmer from a non-latin 3rd world country and somehow managed to get Spanish citizenship after years of living in Catalonia. Naturally I also received it. I managed to get permanent residency in the UK despite not even being an adult yet, and none of our families being employed by highly skilled labour nor having any connectiond to the UK except from the fact that we have lived there for a few years

I have mixed feelings about this video. This video does a good job outlining the immigration process but it does not highlight any of the negative consequences of immigration that Canada is experiencing. One of the main reasons why cost of living is so high in Toronto and Vancouver is precisely because we have so many immigrants coming in without enough housing supply. This is by design because politicians and the upper class have a vested interest in keeping real estate prices high because so much of their net worth is tied up in the housing market.\n\nAnother negative is that employers hire immigrants working low skilled jobs and pay them less than Canadians because the immigrants are willing to be taken advantage of since they're just happy to have a job in Canada which pays better than their country. \n\nAnother myth that gets repeated is that Canadian takes immigrants out of compassion and unfortunately a lot of Canadians believe this. It was never about compassion, it's about bringing more people to 1) pay taxes to support our social welfare as Canadian birth rates decline and boomers retire, 2) keep housing costs high and 3) pay immigrants lower wages for the same work because immigrants are fine being exploited since they have a job in a first world country.\n\nAnother problem is the cultural shift. In the most immigrant-dense regions you'll find that many immigrants themselves surprisingly don't want more immigrants coming to Canada because they see these negative consequences. The people who are most pro-immigration have no problem cramming 8+ people in a basement and exploiting their labour because they make enough money to live in communities that immigrants can't afford, and so they don't have to deal with the cultural shift that's taking place. This is NOT the fault of immigrants, but rather the politicians who put economic growth over quality of life. Over HALF the people in the GTA weren't born in Canada, so they didn't go through our school system and have no connection to our culture. Canada is unfortunately going to become very racist over the next 10-20 years as Canadians start feeling like outsiders in their own country. It's somehow considered racists to criticize the effect of multiculturalism on social unity, yet the cultures we accept in Canada only became distinct cultures because of monoculturalism.

Tipping provides better service in restaurants? I've been to restaurants around the world and from my experience the service is not significantly better in North America and certainly isn't 15-20% better. \nThe other problem with tipping is that I don't get to eat the the smile and false platitudes, what I want in a restaurant is food better than I can cook at home, that's what I'm paying for. \nWhen the food is disappointing I'm not paying extra for it.

Most Republicans will still argue that the world isn’t overpopulated, but they don’t seem to consider that many countries aren’t nice enough to live in. So if you take all the people and cram them into the areas that are fit to live in and that aren’t overcome by climate change and corruption, are we overpopulated then? And if a woman literally becomes a man by changing 'her' name + physically in appearance via surgery/hormones/whatever she still won't get paid the same as a man because she still not viewed as a man: no gender rights. 8. How did you not talk about the ridiculous cost of living in Canada? Canada is one of the most expensive places in the world to live, and it's only getting worse. Unfortunately it's often immigrants that are causing the problem. Oh, hell no! And further to that, if I was visiting the US and got sick enough that I might need a hospital, I would do my damnedest to get back to Canada. I have heard Americans say that the healthcare is very good, as long as you have money. But I don’t trust it because Americans have been brainwashed to believe that the US is exceptional in every way (sorry guys, but it’s extremely obvious to the rest of the world), yet I have heard too many stories about things like people picking up C. Diff or other drug-resistant infections in hospitals there.\n\nI spent about two weeks in the hospital in February. You know what it cost me? Absolutely nothing. Well, I did have to pay for taking an ambulance later. But the hospital stay itself cost me nothing. Neither did the food they fed me in there, or the medication they gave me.\n\nMayyyybe if you guys got universal health care (it shouldn’t be tied to your job), and stopped shooting each other so much. Canada needs to close its borders to refugees and immigrants for 50 years, we are not able to help the unfortunate of the world. Canada Immigration needs to start getting tougher and doing regular sweeps across cities and towns rounding up immigrants for deportation back to their country of origin.

I`m Canadian, and did move to the USA, then moved back to Canada. Americans are Taxed on every dollar they earn, most states have to pay Fed an State tax, Health Care cost is way to high, when they economy goods bad, it goes south really fast. America tax on avg 22%, Canada 15%, America state tax 5.75%, Canada 0%, America sales tax 7.4%, Canada 7% plus 5% GST, however you get the GST back when you file you`re taxes. The 1 thing I really like were the people, made some very good friends but, they are not very educated, most people don`t leave they`re state, because they can see the world on TV, so why travel, as I was told.

Is Toronto the only city in Canada. Toronto is full beyond capacity. I have been waiting for a call for RGI for more than 13 years and never recieved even one call for a place. So many people are coming to Toronto fleeing whatever they are fleeing, getting housing, and help while i and my children continue to pay for it and live like we are in a third world country because we have to decide if we pay the rent or eat healthy. Each countries have their pros and cons. I'm going to answer this before even watching the video. My reasons for not moving to the U.S. are straightforward: 1) my career entrenches me here; and 2) the financial problems Americans face over the private medical insurance system are a huge deterrent. Other problems: politics is too polarized and too many guns. It gets tempting to move there though. You can have pretty much whatever climate you want (tropical, dessert, mountains, boreal forests, etc.) and it's the world's economic heartland. Things in Canada aren't perfect either. American median income is now 40% higher than that of Canada. That's shameful.

Tyler, more than one child is getting shot every day in the US. In 2021 900 children under the age of 16 were killed by homicide. If you take the statistics up to age 20, over 3000 are killed by homicide. Let’s say that more than 5 children are killed by homicide in the US every day. Last year I was in Livingston Texas, at a gas station, and a guy beside me was carrying a handgun out in the open, filling his car while smoking.....I was not about to confront him, and just stopped getting gas and left.
