Now memory came back to me when I was in Vancouver for 3 days and enjoyed my time over Canada in 2015 for a concert, Canada was the first country I've visited outside of the United States I'll never for get it the people where amazing very polite there was a moment in my life that I wanted to move to Canada now thinking over my decision after some years later I'm glad I didn't. I can't believe how bad it has gotten I'm now sure its gotten worse now. Respect your decision I glad to see your doing it, I would love to experience life for us... we only live once it'll be amazing for anyone do what you are doing, I have been thinking of going over doing content about traveling because it is about the journey and if for some reason If I like then.... go for it! The Lauren Southern delusion. It's not sad that you're leaving Canada. It's sad that you came here at a good time, at a young age, and didn't take advantage of all the of the opportunities here. There are plenty of women your age that are doing well in this country, but these women went to university, got a decent job right after, worked hard, saved their money, didn't spend it traveling the world, got married, bought a home, have one or two kids, etc, and are doing fine. Putting any blame on the government for your own situation, at the age of 33, is ridiculous.

You have to have travelled a lot of countries before you can appreciate how good Canada is. Ive been away for 3 yrs now in some 10 different countries have to say Canada is still my favourite if I was a younger person , hungry and motivated to succeed. It just didnt suit me anymore with a family lifestyle and travel , that I moved overseas. I knew grass wasnt always gonna be greener , its all about the tradeoff. It didnt suit me anymore at this point in time, but it was for 40 years, thats a double lifetime for some. Like you said , Im glad of what Canada has me me become and taught me everything that I know in life.

It's just really sad for the babies & children that get pushed into it by their parents. No child should die or drown because of pushbacks. Think EU needs a new system, either a centre outside of Europe where you can only apply there, and others are sent there or send back to their country. Countries that don't allow it, will be out of trade, business and no more international help until they take those back. Time to prevent, and not kill.

So, everyone that convinced me to go to Canada is now leaving the country, including my fellow Hispanic YouTubers ... and I'm barely starting my journey, this just leaves me concerned instead of excited and it really makes me sad to be saying that, hopefully those who will go through the hard times in Canada will also get rewarded, and remember amigos, when in Canada, behave as Canadian.

I left Canada in 2000 for an attractive job opportunity in Belgium. I had been workng in Canada for 20 yrs at that time and all of my education was completed in Canada. I did not leave Canada due to any major dissatisfaction with the country, but rather a professional opporunity that arose and the chance to experience Europe as a resident rather than a tourist. I never expected to stay in Europe long term, but one job led to another and I stayed on in Belgium until 2017 when I moved to Spain for my (semi-)retirement. Although I rented out the condo I owned in Canada from 2000-2022, after 5 years living in Spain, I decided I am not moving back to live in Canada and sold it. I have no regrets having left Canada when I did, nor do I regret my move from Belgium to Spain. I still visit Canada about once a year to visit family and friends, but a move back to my homeland is not something I would now seriously consider. \n\nGood luck with your move and settlement in your new home, wherever that is!

Born and raised in Canada but left in 1999. I have only been back 3 times and although I retired in 2015, I have decided to not move back, maybe never. I am absolutely heart broken about it because I love the country I grew up in. Been traveling full time ( no home base ) since retirement and we keep looking for a place to call home. We are ending a 2+ year stay in South America and are now headed to Japan, just for the heck of it, change of scenery. We are not too keen on hot and humid but we still want to visit SEA. Justin Trudeau and the liberals have destroyed this Country. I was born and raised in Canada in a town in Ontario along one of the Great Lakes Lake Erie. My parents and even their parents were born and raised in that same area I am from and Canada was a great place but since Justin Trudeau become PM everything started to change and not in a slow unnoticeable way it was fast. Drugs and homelessness started to become a thing something I have never seen in my life and even my neighbourhood and town started to change too with people that don't speak english and wait times in the ER started to be so much longer and even finding a doctor when I moved to the city was impossible to get. I have not traveled much only in a car or truck and never been on a airplane but I am considering moving out of Canada too. I am going to wait and see what happens in the election and see if things begin to charge before I leave the only place I know and start new somewhere else. I have been thinking of Southeast Asia like Laos or Thailand because there Canadian funds are worth something and you can live and at for very cheap and get a very nice place for half or less of what rent is here.

Take Me. I have also lived and loved Canada for many years but feel like there could be a much better quality of life to be lived elsewhere. I have visited 22 countries hunting for the right one but will travel to South East Asia (Philippines, Thailand) for the first time this winter before making any real decisions. Since my mother was German when I was born, I just recently found out that I'm also a German citizen from birth through descent through my mother. I've been living here in the US since high school when I moved from Victoria to Tucson, Arizona. I eventually got my US green card (permanent residency. I then moved to Madison, Wisconsin and became a US Citizen. At this point, I am a dual US and Canadian citizen in addition to being German citizen as well. I am applying for my confirmation of German citizenship through the German consulate in Chicago which would then allow me to obtain a German passport for access to live and work freely in EU and Schengen countries. I went to The Netherlands last January and I really feel in love with the Dutch culture and lifestyle. I am planning on spending at least a few years there as soon as I get my German passport. \nMy relatives in Canada keep telling me how lucky I am to be a US Citizen as they all say how terrible the situation has become in Canada. I am surprised since I've always considered Canada to be one of the top places to live in the world. I haven't lived in Canada for a long time and I've been doing relatively good here in the USA. I enjoy the US overall but we definitely have our share of issues here as well.\nAnyhow .... I wish you the best on your next location.

It's all fine and well that you want to leave Canada but where will you go that's any better? After all it is your choice. The problems we see happening around the world are a global problem. There are at least 2 major wars going on. Inflation is rampant in most countries in the world and we ARE heading for a global economic depression that will dwarf anything that we've seen in the 1930's. Speaking for myself my roots are here in Canada which is not the Canada I grew up in anymore. Sadly. Used to be a really great place to live until Trudeau and his band of thieves ruined it. I may as well make my last stand here. If I was going to move where would I go. The EU? Absolutely not! They're tanking. America? No effing way! The American empire is collapsing. Along with the FED note. South America? Don't think so. Most S. American countries are iffy at best. Australia? No. They're nuts. New Zealand? No. They're struggling badly and people are leaving there in droves. Africa? No way in hell. So that doesn't leave very much. Antarctica? Little on the cold side. Few amenities. ;) May as well stay where I am and take my chances. Better the devil I know than the one I don't. If you're serious about moving out of Canada be sure to do your due diligence and research about your target country. Grass always looks greener on the other side but many times isn't once you get there. One place that I AM attracted to is the Azores. Beautiful place. Friendly people. Good climate. One drawback is that I don't speak Portuguese. And I would have to be independently wealthy. After a certain amount of time out of the country I would lose my Canadian pension. It's said that where we are is where we're supposed to be. I may as well take my chances, make the best of a crappy situation and stay here. There really is no better or worse place than Canada. The majority of the countries in the world are struggling with their own problems. I'm not willing to jump from the frying pan into the fire. One of the biggest reasons I want to stay in Canada is that if it does come to a nuclear shooting war it would be very unlikely that Canada would be attacked. So here I'll stay. For better or worse. The LIberals won't be in power forever and if people have the smallest amount of sense, so few will vote for them in the next election that the Liberals will lose party status. I fervently hope that happens. ;)

Best of luck Alina. I used to watch you before coming to Canada. Came to Saskatchewan spent 5 years and left recently having understood what is canadian experience we should have as new immigrant. It is sad you leaving the country you grew up but same time happy you looking forward to a progress.

I was born in Ottawa. Over the course of my 45 years I have watched the country become progressively worse the entire time I've been alive. I don't begrudge anyone jumping for their lives at this point. My only wish is that everyone in the world acknowledge that the only thing that makes Canada a horrible place to be is the government, or at least the government for the past 45 years.

That is sad news in some way but it is your decision and your decision alone. With all your travel experience in the world I do not doubt for a moment that you will not rebuild your live elsewhere. Make a pitstop in the Netherlands some day, not Amsterdam ( yes Schiphol airport is located there ) but other very interesting places to visit, we have a lot to offer. Yes we are small but very successful in what we do. Nothing is perfect but I will never leave my country to permanent settle to another country. Maybe travel for a longer time or rent a nice place near the mountains somewhere but permanent settling no, things are very well arranged in my country, with top 10 passport strength if you will ? Canada is on my bucketlist as I told earlier. But as a tourist I will not feel the problems Canadians have these days, I pitty for them, so sad. I came to Calgary in 1983, and since then, I've seen Canada change for the better and worse. I moved back to my native country of Malaysia in 1997 and lived and worked there until 2012. I can honestly say that my native country is so much cheaper to live. I don't need to wait months to see a specialist and wait over an hour to see my family doctor despite already booking an appointment. Doctors just want to get you out of their office fast so they can see more patients. Got a second health concern, well, book another appointment. What a joke! In Malaysia, I can get full body check-ups, including x-ray, ECG, and blood work, including results the same day. What's the use of free health care if the service takes donkey months? I've decided to move back to Malaysia in about two year's time and enjoy the warm weather and cheaper cost of living. Canada is a GREAT country, but the elected government just screwed things up. Will miss the Calgary Stampede for sure.

Just a message for canadians, next time you travel to south europe or asia, ask the locals how much they get paid, how many hours they work and how much is their rent, before bragging about how good and affordable life is in those countries. Most of you there, live in a fucking bubble.

Because there is too much immigration in a short period of time, the country is overwhelmed and there is not enough housing, healthcare, and infrastructure to accommodate for the rapid increase in population. Housing costs have gone up way too much, partly because the immigration is much higher than the rate at which new homes are being built. So people are not anti-immigration, but they want the immigration to be sustainable.

A long-time subscriber and seldom commenter, but as someone who seriously considered moving to Canada at one point and has been keeping a close eye on the country, I feel both sympathetic and ironic about your decision.\nWhichever corner of the world you land on, fair winds and following seas. Great video Alina and thank you for sharing your well balanced perspective. Born and raised in Canada to immigrant parents who came in 1970. I left in 1992 and came back in 2015 and left again for good in 2020 mainly due to the draconian covid restrictions. It was the best decision I ever made in my life and I have never looked back. From my point of view, Canada is beyond unrecognizable today and the leaders in Ottawa have sold the country and the people down the river along time ago and sadly the real serious Canada is nothing but a memory. I feel sorry for the immigrants who come to Canada and have a romanticized vision of the nation. They have no idea what they have gotten themselves into. Nobody speaks up, but it's the truth. Canada use to be a squeaky clean country and well-respected around the world. Use to be in the top 5 of best places to live. Now it's not even in the top ten. Toronto as large as it is, use to be a very clean city compared to other cities in the States during Mayor Art Eggleton's day. Now it's fallen by the wayside. There are more homeless than homes. Less jobs than before and at the same time prices for everyday items have risen. Absolutely ridiculous. Somebody up there is not doing their job. We gave the Liberals too much power and they have become complacent. Time for new leadership.

I can identify with a lot of your comments. I live in the United States, where I have lived all my life. It's a great country and I'm thankful for the life that I have had here, but things are changing and it no longer feels like the same country that I grew up in. To add some perspective, I grew up in the 70's and 80's. My wife is from Colombia, and I have been there 11 times so far ( trip number 12 coming in a few months), and I love Colombia. I am planning to move there when I retire. I know it's not a perfect place, as there is no such thing as a perfect place, and there will be some things that I will miss about my life in the states, but it feels like the right choice for my retirement. I can hear in your voice how you feel conflicted, and I have those same feelings. Ultimately, we all have to make the choices that are best for us as individuals.

I'm feeling the same. This country is running by bad managers who cannot be fired no matter how horrible their performance is. My friend from China visited me in Toronto about two months ago and he said he had zero interest in immigrating to Canada now because the streets look so trashy which I can totally relate. I came back from Japan last year and it was a bit culture shock to see how dirty the streets are in Toronto compared to Tokyo (not even the cleanest in Japan). I have to constantly remind myself I'm lucky to have a comfortable bed and a not too bad salary but my monthly savings after all the expenses are actually decreasing from year to year even I get a pay raise every year (I track all my spendings and income every month). Now it's time to consider other options before it's too late.

Any other country would fight for their country, or like Ukraine wait till a country can take them in.. but not these..they fight k*ll all the time and we are expected to just let them in. Give them money housing etc and that ps more then we do for our own

Hi Alina !! Good for you!! GOOOO!!!!I lived in Japan and China for a decade. I came back to Canada 4 years ago to find a decadent, unsafe, expensive country. Canada is not the shadow of the amazing country that I deeply loved. The only way I could survive these last four years was to leave Canada for at least 4 months a year. I am leaving Canada again tomorrow, but this time is for good. Do I feel sad? not anymore. I will always remember Canada but the new reality is just a nightmare !!!!

From your travels and your excitement level about some countries, even repeated visits for some, I think I know with some bold confidence. But I won't jinx it for you to even mention, it might not be, who knows. Wait with bated breath for your ans in a few mths' time. :)

You ain't paid nuffin, when it comes to taxes, like I paid; but i also made millions after arriving here. In spite of all that, my most sincere assessment of Canada is: it is a true and genuine sh**thole country. I am also leaving. There is no hope for any systemic improvement. Canada lived a like a prostitute peddling its natural resources. This place should have been trashed decades ago. But it is happening at rapid pace. Time to move your monies into other places and get out, before it all goes into bin

I´ve been contacted multiple times by German companies to work there and the difference with other countries is quite interesting. Places like Denmark or the Netherlands offer you help in anything you may need as well as using english to work while leaving the local language as optional, but in German positions it all seems to be about demanding from you without giving much in return. \n\nI don´t think that it as good strategy if your country has a labour shortage, specially of skilled labour because it is also demanded in many other countries that are simply better options.

Stand up for your country and defend what is rightfully yours. It's time to stop blaming the rest of the world for issues that could have been prevented. The rise of Hezbollah, the Taliban, and the destabilization of the Syrian government were all avoidable had the people united and resisted, but none of you ever did anything.

South East Asia is the future, I came to Germany in 2014 and back then it was a DYING COUNTRY, I predicted in a decade even immigrants will leave and how true that has become and believe me IT WILL GET FAR WORSE FROM HERE, even USA/Canada/EU/AUS/NZ/CHINA/INDIA will crumble eventually only SEA like Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines etc will survive the coming onslaught on humanity.\n\n YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, if you are in your 20s or even 50s, make your LIFE MISSION to live in SEA. The infrastructure in Thailand for example is 100 times better than any country in Europe and the powers that be prop up unlivable Europe and make sure to put down countries in SEA or not report on them at all, be ready to be shocked if you ever visit for the first time in Thailand & Philippines from Europe.

I'm really ashamed of my country of how bad we are at welcoming you (who we so desperately need), while at the same time being unable to cope with unskilled workers as a result of illegal immigration and abuse of the welfare system. I can understand everyone migrating to Switzerland that successfully supports skilled workers. I witnessed everything mentioned in this post personally, due to working in a large multinational corporation.

Many of my friends who studied Masters here in Germany are struggling to find a job and yet they say we need skilled workers. Where are the jobs.\nFor language issue why can't you work with companies and give conditional offer to employees that in 2-3 years you have to be fluent in German and give them an opportunity to learn the language and integrate.\nBut did we see this no and yet they say we want workers..Yes you will get people obviously the world is big but not the quality one and in some time your situation will become like of France and UK.\n\nAnd though I have finished my Master and working in a company for very less salary still i regret my decision to come here leaving my well paid job in my home country was the worst mistake. \nBut now i have to find a way out from here

Go to english speaking countries, rest are waste of time

you stand last in the competition but speaks great German then your chances to get selected is 100 times higher than the person with adequate degree and more years of experience in the related field. Only concern for them is whether candidate can speak good German or not .If your metric is limited to one measure then this is bound to happen. Immigrants skilled manpower in your country is compelled to work in restaurants, warehouses, bakeries, just because they don't speak the fluent German .

One think Germany could start and do is to fix the university application for international students. in theory they are super attractive with almost no tuition (ok 99% of courses are in German). But it runs on a German cycle months later than most other countries.... You can't start applying before May 15th for the next school year. that is 7 months later than the UK, Netherlands, Belgium etc, Meaning that by the time applications start in Germany, if you applied in those others countries you most likely got an offer already. In fact, my son applied also in Germany and only today got his high school diploma certified. took Uni-assist the government portal 5 weeks to do that. now he can submit that to the uni where he applied and who knows when they will make a decision. meanwhile he has other offers in equally good schools.

I am a designer and artist who moved to Saxony to reunify with family. I can say, being here for 3 years, it is VERY difficult to find a job in your profession when you do not speak the language. I am not a blue card holder, but my partner is. Despite our financial situation not being a dire one, I still look forward to integrating well in the job market and contributing my expertise + passion in the local society. \n\nI spent around 1.5 year reaching B1 level German (+including the waiting time for german tests, orientation course test and test scores etc.) Even with this B1 knowledge, you cannot communicate in a professional setting, more is needed. I also spent another half year time contacting our local Agency for Work, and experienced discrimination from their consultation service, a long waiting time and no assistance at the end. \n\nIt has been quite a discouraging journey, especially for someone who has high motivation to work and contribute. My current options are looking for jobs in Berlin, English speaker environments like Burger King etc. In my personal case, it has largely affected my confidence and enthusiasm for living in this country.

It's a waste of time learning German as an adult skilled worker through language schools. Most of the world speaks English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish so working in the UK, France, Portugal, and Spain as skilled workers is more economical than working in Germany. Germany should learn from Benelux and Scandinavian countries by adopting English as its working language in the civil service and private businesses instead.

I came to Canada 11 years ago, now as a citizen i feel its a waste of time, very soon I will leave this country.

What i don't understand is how leaders of a country are unable to predict this outcome.\nAnyone whit some level of consequential thinking can see this from a mile away.\nKind of obvious that you can't let more people in than you can provide housing and job opportunity to.\nDoes not take a genius to figure that out.\nOr better yet, try and stop the water flow from your shower without turning the knobs and watch what happens to the water.\nIt goes all over the place uncontrollably.\nThat visual is pretty much exactly how the economic and welfare status looks like for a country who let too much immigration slip through in too short amount of time.

Hey man. I think that the 2 leaders of opposing countries, religions, “teams” whatever, they should meet, promising everyone is safe, promising to each other n keeping their promise, and they should have dinner or lunch, maybe breakfast. But they should face to face, share a meal and talk. I promise u that things would change for the better. We all should do this. There would be way less war, eventually none. Then, we build, because if u give a man a fish, he has one meal, but if u teach a man to fish, he feeds his family for life. Time to do this

Canadian immigration is a joke. I earned a masters here from a reputed university, spent so much time and money, 6 years later I became a permanent resident. I was so grateful. Now, anyone with a sob story in the name of “persecution” can just come here and actually get government money for a good while to settle in. And now, we have entire flight crews just simply “claiming” asylum. The government has made everyone who took the right channels, faced so many hardships in the way are effing losers who could’ve just gotten in through the many bogus channels. i love this country, but it has gone to the dogs steadily since 2015.

Getting more than 10 millions of legal migrants in a country of 33 millions in less than 5 years…. (That’s without the illegal, the forge in worker and student) is the root cause of the housing crisis and of the record inflation…. We went during that time from the top 3 western country in buying power to the lowest…. Thank you Trudeau
