Instead they try to game system by applying for work/pr etc. to stay in that country which is not correct. Every country has right to safe guard their citizens first. Unfortunately Germany is not a very attractive place for immigrants for the reasons the guy mentioned. The bureaucracy is incredibly frustrating and it's not only for immigrants. I got offered a job by a very well known multi international company here and they expected me to do the visa application by myself, because they haven't dealt with it before and evidently not enough information was readily available for them to take on the process. Those who are planning to come to Germany I would say spend a lot of time familiarizing yourself with how taxes will impact your salary. Insist on getting a dummy payslip with estimates of what your take home will be (because in Germany there are variables that could make an accurate estimate hard), research the average median expenses in the city or town you are moving to and be preperared to be the person who initiate contact with others. Learn the language which will make it easier to make friends (this will not happen over night as Germans by nature are not the warmest people), but in time yes. Find out whether your qualifications are comparable to those in Germany. You will be so surprise how many people don't do this check and waste their time doing courses that will not benefit them. I know it's incredibly hard to find out about this, like with everything else in this country, finding information on things isn't easy. You will need to speak to 4/5 different people, but it's worth it in the long run and saves you a lot of time.

Remember when the news depicted yellow vest protests in canada as far right, extreme, radical. Some liberal politicians refer to them as being nazi. Who wants to move to Canada these days where people are fed up with cost of living just like the UK. Don't blame on immigrants, blame on your irrational policies.

Canadians have the right to claim employment in their own country. Immigration should not happen in such a way, that the original citizens start feeling like outsiders.

The real problem is the middle class and small businesses in Canada. I was a PR in Canada and still couldn't get a decent job because of two major issues. First - language. I went to look for a job in so many places but couldn't get it because I couldn't speak their native language, like Polish, Arabian, or Chinese. Second - I asked someone if I could get a govt. job near my house and everybody said NO. Why because the place had a Polish guy in charge, and he is only going to hire his family or friends who are Polish. So doesn't matter if you get the best leader known to man, Canadian economy is doomed if you don't do anything about the middle class system and non-English speaking immigrants.

“Ô Canada”... like e.g. Belgium, one of those “unnecessary countries”. Canada would never have happened if the American military officers who won the Revolutionary War of Independence against the decrepit British crown had not become incompetent degenerates and still had had their touch in 1812. But nowadays America is no better than Canada... it’s probably even worse. So if you speak more than the primitive “kitchen Russian” typical of most USSR / FSU immigrants, Russia could be exactly the place for you. Sad to say but, probably these Indians have a contingency plan to make Canada as the second India. They're taking advantage of all the possible immigration programs, until they can bring their entire clan here, which is alarming and not anymore acceptable. I was born in Canada but my parents came here a while back for a better life almost 25 yrs ago. They immigrated legally, my father was very educated in his field of engineering but redid his education here. Am I apart of this problem? I feel as Canada is my home and I have adopted a lot of the customs, but if I’m disrupting the flow of how the medical system works because of my foreign blood then I might consider finding another country that is already preset for someone like me.

They are actually cunningly acting like they do not know what they have done. First they invited immigrants more than they can handle. Now they have taken good amount of fees from the international students and now they are telling them only that they are a burden to their economy. Such a cunning and 2 faced government. My tiny, rural town looks like little India now. Nothing against immigrants, but it’s NOTHING like how I grew up. Getting an apartment is brutal.

In my last 6 months here, Me and my Family had a very positive experience meeting supportive and friendly people. Specially my daughter was really happy and quickly integrated with the support of very precise education system. However, language remains the main barrier to us on integrating fully. Yes ,as an immigrants, it's essential to learn the language to truly become part of the culture and community, but it's challenging to achieve this in a short period. even it says short of Skill employees , Professionals like me who had a successful career back home makes its really difficult to find a job due to language barrier. I wish there were a proper mechanism to help candidates like us find jobs while we learn the language, We are eager to work, earn, and contribute to the economy.

I feel like it should be more like 2.5% not 5%, and we need to go back to centering immigration around high skilled labour (like doctors which are sorely needed) and not low wage and refugees.

Shut the flood gate from India! Also refugees from Syria, Ukrain, Africa etc. One million students and another million in regular immigration is too much to handle for a country like Canada. The system is not designed to handle this much..

This needs to stop altogether. Immigration is NOT an economic plan and as such has worn quite thin. It has become so difficult to own and run a business (at least in Ontario) and probably the rest of the country due to taxation and added things like carbon tax which has never been explained in a meaningful way. There is also an issue of interprovincial consortiums buying up franchises in bulk and hiring only foreign nationals to work there. These politicians are in denial and have no stake in this which is why it seems like a viable solution. Some of them are also landlords and involved in the secondary mortgage market with investment funds, all the while making policy to keep working people and the middle class off the property ladder. You can’t get approved for a 2000 dollar a month mortgage but you sure can rent one of their properties through a buying consortium for 3500 dollars a month. It is obscene the grift that has taken place and all the while they have had a hand in fomenting a purchasing frenzy for homes which drives their property values / investments through the roof, sometimes to the tune of 10x what they paid for them. It is corrupt and if anyone thinks that 25million dollar Pollievre is going to be different then think again…..it will be a repeat of Stephen Harper only worse (he is pulling the strings for Pollievre.

It seems like Germany still has a lingering anti-immigrant sentiment from the 1930s, even though as a country they certainly need skilled workers. Germany is not the only country though, I've experienced racism in Poland for example, and I'm sure other East European countries are similar.

Canada is a HUGE country with a LOT of resources, there is only like 40m people in the second biggest country in the world! \ndont let the gov fool you into thinking that a bunch of illeagals are the problem.. its clearly a distraction.\n\nbut dont get me wrong, illeagal immigration must be regulated.. it can result in higher crime.. some illeagals are criminals who escaped from punishment in their home country

There is a very simple solution to this - outsource the work to countries like India so immigrants are not required to come to Germany.

I'm not even canadian and it's simple. Immigrants are guests first before they assimilate after many years. A few guest in your house is nice, but imagine having so many guests they displace you and take over your home. Who's going to like that?

As a FRENCH individual, I would\nSay this!!! WHY would you or even plan to come to a country that rejects you??? Why waste your money to come here???? Why immigrate here??? Lately, I have my older brother move back to France and my 2 daughters NOT willing to stay in Canada (they hate the Canadian education system here)! My wife wants to fly back to France and so am I and we will as soon as we can!!!! As for me … I HATE the Canadian healthcare system (rigid and INEFFICIENT) with all its stupid waiting times and lack of humanity and transparency!!! In France NO ONE has to wait 6 years (I heard this many times from friends) for an operation or 15 weeks to see pediatrician!!! I do not like the taxes, nor the hidden racism that is WAY WORSE than AMERICA (I have a coloured friend who knows well and who snobbed racist Canadians by speaking French to them. This friend of mine is in fact… a French citizen himself). I hate the Canadian transportation system, the banking system which is designed to STEAL from people!!! In Europe, there is NI Credit score and NO easy loans and you do not get indebted as in this rubbish country of GREEDY THIEVES (the Canadian bid corps) called Canada!!! Education in Europe is FREE!!!! Why should I allow my kids to study here and pay for veut studies??? WHY???? Le Canada est un pays de profiteurs!!!

I feel bad for those who were duped into coming here to Canada. They had big dreams of becoming successful here, instead not being able to do that and being forced to live in cramped accommodations. I work in healthcare, and a lot of people who work in the facility in which I'm employed were brought here from the Philippines and India, mostly. Some were hired directly by this employer, while others came here some other way. Those with professions like being an RN were under the impression that it wouldn't take that long or be that difficult to get their Canadian certification to work as RNs here. Instead, they found out that the process for that here in Canada is a lot tougher and takes a lot longer than they'd been led to believe. So many are left not being able to use their education to its fullest, instead working as care aides until they can get the proper certification. I know that this has also happened with doctors and engineers and to many in other professions for which they went to school for years. It's a real shame.\n\nThis massive influx of people coming from other countries, though, has been really tough on those of us who were already living here. It's been way too many people, and we just weren't prepared. It's been one of the biggest factors in the huge increase of cost of living and, of course, it's by far the reason we have an enormous housing shortage.\n\nI'm not completely anti-immigration, but I think that it needs to be stopped, at least for a while. Let us deal with what's going on now instead of bringing in more people that would only help to make things worse, through no fault of their own. There's no reason that we need to have more people coming here right now. We have way more than enough people here right now.

To all people here that object to Germany not making everything English-speaking.\n\nIn my experience working with a large German corporation, when in a remote meeting of 200+ people a handful of people say they prefer the meeting to be held in English, it’s going to be in English, even if it means that the speakers will automatically dumb down the content by 80%, have problems with vocabulary, and struggle to get across the finer details. The documentation for IT stuff will be written in approximate English to please the 3-5% readers who just wanted to earn a higher wage for a few years, but not commit to the culture of their host country.\n\nIf both sides speak only a second language and not their mother tongue, what are the chances of ever feeling like you really understand the other? It’s like shaking hands wearing gloves. If you come to Germany or any other non English speaking country, and feel at home there, commit. Learn the language. Embrace the cultural differences. Germans are reserved on the surface, it takes some effort for them to warm to strangers. But given time, most of them are happy to do so, and can be very loyal friends. \n\nIntegration into the society of a country you emigrate to is a two-sided story. The host country certainly has to make it easier, but it’s still an onus on the immigrants. Not being willing to accept that the host nation is culturally different isn’t an option. English is certainly an international language, because it is the language of a former worldwide colonial empire. But that’s no reason to expect that English is enough for a satisfying integration into any society.\n\nRacism is an issue in many countries that are historically very homogeneous, and having a significant minority can actually make it worse. I'm German and don't like it here. As a child of immigrants I never felt at home here despite being born here, speaking the language, having friends, finishing school etc.. \nBy now I started a family but I still feel like I don't belong. And since my wife is a foreigner I'm constantly thinking of emigrating to another place that is more welcome and appreciative.

I opened a business in Canada with a partner in 1974. By 1985, in spite of having a successful business, I moved to the US in 1985, and have never looked back. Canada was moving in a direction in the 80’s, that I could see was no longer a fit for me. I never believed that Canada would sink as low as it has, but I have to admit, compared to the US, it was becoming far too regulated, and far too Liberal for my liking.\nThe open immigration policy for me, was a complete deal breaker, and its current shift to being a Muslim, East Indian, Chinese, and African country, would not have worked for me, as a Canadian Protestant of English, Irish, and French descent. I know for a fact that the Chinese are extensively involved in the current synthetic drug crisis, and although there are many law abiding Chinese in Canada, they serve to camouflage the Chinese underworld that exists in Canada, as they do in Mexico, that allows them to pipeline these drugs to Canada, which is being destroyed by this crisis. All said, Canada is becoming a crime ridden, drug infested Muslim shithole, where Canadians can look forward to sharing this demise with their Chinese, and East Indian neighbours.

Germany doesn't want immigrants. Im talking about regular German people not the government and corporations. Average German doesn't like foreigners and sees them as competition.
