The majority of Americans haven’t ever heard the term like shadow banking whereas up north everyone knows what’s is. The Canadian regulators are asleep at the switch ands mainly due to corruption.

I've traveled and worked in many parts of the USA. In most cases, I've found people to be more friendly, helpful and outgoing than Canadians because we tend to be more reserved.\n\nThe exceptions are when Americans feel afraid or threatened for some reason. Then things get really scary very quickly. The gun culture is one reason for this. At a coffee break in Houston my coworkers started talking about guns because one of them had been held up at gunpoint. His car was in the shop to repair a bullet hole in his front fender. This triggered talk about where people kept their guns at home, in their cars and on their persons. A small pile of 3 handguns ended up on the table while we talked, two of them from women's purses. All but one of the people had never used their guns except at a shooting range. The exception blew out a neighbor's over-loud outdoor speakers with a shotgun. He felt this was justified because he paid his shocked neighbor double the destroyed equipment's value in cash. Most of the Texans didn't agree with him but understood his rationale.\n\nI can handle a rifle and shotgun. Many Canadians hunt, but I can't think of a place in Canada where I could have had this conversation.

So, if people are concerned about the environment, they should understand where Canada really stands.\n\nAdditionally, I think it could be important for you to talk about how expensive things are in Canada. Canadians pour over the border into the United States for better housing to go to Costco and grocery stores and shop for clothes and large appliances, and to avoid high taxation. They also come to the United States for better schools, better work conditions and higher pay. I grew up in Calgary, two hours south. I've dealt with it on many levels, sometimes blatantly obvious, most times a series of micro aggressions that make you want to explode and destroy everything when it happens. As much pain it's caused over decades it's made me stronger as well as smarter. I will also say this and I can stress this enough, because of the demographics most of my friends are white and THEY HAVE MY BACK. in almost every aspect life will throw at me, they're ride or die people, I can say this with the utmost confidence The difference for me between Canada and the states is I'm not fighting alone if and when a situation comes up, there's people I can call if needed. There is nothing wrong with Canada's economy. Althought Canada is a inferior business country relative to US. The politics of Canada are no longer 'tolerant and liberal'. We are losing our freedoms daily (refer Bill C-11). We are becoming stifled by censorship. We have a spiralling housing crisis. Known murderers are being freed after a few days on bail, leading to a far less safe social environment than we traditionally had. Our skyrocketing inflation and insanely high taxes are crushing our quality of life. The entire situation is deteriorating week to week since there is an active agenda to destroy our economy and society. I should also mention that our health care system is in a state of collapse.

Unless you plan to live in a very impoverished, run-down, and dangerous area. In a “good” suburb, not great, you’re looking at $686K - $749K. Most are now selling between $812K - $1M. I’m sorry my friend, those stats are a mirage. They blend in cheap apartments in Edmonton into those stats. For petroleum engineering, congrats for finishing those studies, but it’s been a long-standing political battle in Canada; Albert vs. Ontario on this issue. The current liberal government is openly trying to destroy the industry you’re in and you will struggle immensely to find work.
