However, the goverment did not take any steps to accomodate these people. To give context, Canada has built houses every year to accomodate only 300K people. That is why the average rent(950$) is more than double nowadays (2000$) for the same house/apartment in compare to what was 5-6 years ago. \n\nHome Affordibility:- Average family(two person) income is $75k yearly right now. Average house price in Canada is $700k. The bank only approves mortgage upto 4x times your income. So that is 75 * 4 = $300k mortgage. So you need to make a downpayment of $400k if you want to buy your own home. \nBy the way, the minimum wage job package is only $32k per year. \n\nCrime and Chaos:- Canada has a catch and release policy for repeated criminals. Let's say somebody stole you car and got caught, he will be released on bail in 10 mins. The crime rate has increased 20% in last 5 years. \n\nTaxes:- Average family(two person) earning $75k pays 29% income tax to Goverment for these above mentioned wonderful servies. So in hand they only get around $53k, plus they pay 13% additoanl tax on groceries, clothers, insurance, absoulte everything.

If the public healthcare is broken then citizens can choose for private healthcare insurance just like in India,many employers cover this insurance, so that you don’t have to spend out of pocket. I am watching this video from Canada and I have 4 words for you - “DO NOT COME HERE!!!” Everything that was mentioned in the video is absolutely true. Canada is facing many problems, unaffordable housing, broken healthcare systems, homeless people, drugs. I am always scared to walk in downtown at night when I’m returning from work. And the worst part is, you cannot even defend yourself here if a homeless person is attacking you. If you do that you will be prosecuted saying that why did you touch that homeless guy and it is a violation of human rights, which is stupid. So does that mean that we should just let a random homeless person kill us?? How does that make sense?? My friend who was having an asthma attack had to sit in the emergency room for 8 hours. If something would have happened, who would be responsible? And the list just goes on. And what does the Canadian prime minister do about that….? Let a guy be a girl and a girls become a guy? What does that even mean??? I have nothing against the LGBTQ people. That’s your life do whatever you want, I don’t care. But there are so many other issues going on in the country and the government is focusing on allowing people to change their genders !! \nAnd the worst part is that a portion of the tax we pay from our hard earned money goes to the homeless people. Let’s imagine that you have a medical condition called canadasia. There is a knowledgeable community of physicians that can really help with canadasia disease. But there are lot of crack doctors on YouTube who claim they know everything about canadasia because they have watched lot of videos and articles on canadasia. They are now down ranking the videos of the crack doctors to show content from more reliable sources. But when it comes to arbitrary things like going to Canada how does Google know how to down rank bad videos by people claiming to be expert on these subjects? Being an Indian Youth I would not be willing to go to Canada but nor am I willing to study my bachelor's in India bcoz of paper scams occuring at mass level in the country and even the highest power, the supreme Court not being able to do the right justice.

This country has always welcomed talented immigrants who are willing to integrate with the Canadian society, embrace its values, traditions and culture. However, in the last 10 years, too many refugees and reckless mass immigration has put an incredible pressure on the economy, infrastructure and social cohesion. \n\n3. The political leadership has allowed reckless mass immigration without caring to boost the economy/infrastructure to handle the volume and hence the sorry state of affairs. \n\n4. Too many immigration consultants of Indian origin engage in outright VISA frauds (yes, this is unfortunately true) leading to ppl coming in as a tourist and then seeking asylum or converting their visa into a student visa (55 year olds from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat coming here as students).\n\n5. A significant chunk of people coming from India (esp. Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat) seeking a permanent residency in Canada are using student visas as a back door to claim eligibility for PR/citizenship. This is downright abusive and was never intended to be used like this. This has fueled a fake college diploma industry into Canada where “2-room” colleges have sprung up along the highways giving out fake diplomas and certifications for easy cash. Thus, the students, the immigration consultants and the fake diploma issuing colleges are all getting benefited from this scam. Unlike the past, the recent batch of immigrants in the last 3 years or so, make no effort at all to integrate into Canadian society and abuse the system, create law and order problem, drive recklessly, talk loudly in public spaces, litter everywhere, cross railway tracks like they do in India, steal liquor from stores, shamelessly collect food from food banks (as a way to save on groceries) that are meant for the elderly, disabled or those that are in utter poverty. It wasn’t like this ever before. In cities like Mississauga, Brampton and Surrey, the Khalistan movement + gangs involved in theft, drugs and human trafficking are from Punjab/Haryana and they have mushroomed here like crazy. Legally, on a student visa, they are NOT allowed to participate in any sort of activism. \n\nNOBODY that comes to our country on a temporary visa (student, tourist etc.) has the right to dictate terms to us and demand that we change our immigration policies based on their preferences. UK is no different - it is also having similar issues as Canada. In fact I'm moving back from the UK next week after living here for 3.5 years. UK once used to be called the golden empire (even post colonialism) and it used to be a very promising, stable and prosperous land - not anymore. India is genuinely at a sweet spot right now - if we play our cards well for the next 3-4 decades (1-2 generations), the entire game will change! And I have personally worked in the NHS and I can certify that all those waiting lines and decreasing quality of care etc. is all true.

This is the main issue in Canada. We are stuck in so many ways. Our economy is the worst in the G7, so we need to mass import migrants to artificially increase our GDP. But with that, our cost of living will artificially stay high from the increased demand on the housing. All while suppressing wages. All while our government refuses to increase our key natural exports, like crude oil, or nuclear materials. We really are in shambles. Really we need to rip the band aid off, and pause all migration from india for the next five years, not even allowing chain migration. Maintain a manageable rate of legal migration (the US normally has 1 million migrants a year as a high, to a population of 300 million). While getting our pipelines built. Stop the woke shit that is destroying us. Right now every housing project requires an 18 month pause to make sure that the native lands are recognized through a corrupt archeological study (ever since the residential school mass grave hoax). Build houses like crazy, allowing for one additional farm land residential severance. And then stop the regulatory suppression from the federal government on corporations. We have zero money being invested into Canada and it will lead to us having a worse economic outlook than Mexico in less than ten years. Imagine the world thinking of Canada as a third world country. That's where we are heading without some serious shift in how we approach our policy.

I am a Canadian and I have seen the sharp decline of Canada over the past decade which makes me very sad. According to many 'experts' they paint a dire picture of the nations future as the rate of inflation spirals out of control and we are buried beneath a mountain of debt. On the ground level, homelessness is an epidemic that the powers that should not be seem to want to sweep under the rug, while they race bait and spout off about woke ideology. They are more worried about transgender rights and castrating children while with anyone with eyes to see are witnessing the very breakdown of their society around them, people are dying in the streets from fentanyl overdose. My wife volunteered at our old church which catored to the homeless and I have known many that are no longer with us, nobody wants to acknowledge it because they do not want to face the fact that they are fellow human beings. I moved to canada to finish highschool and university, and honeslty, I cant wait to go back home. Im under a lot of stress to finish my school before things get even worse. My parents work as building managers for a company, and even though the price of our apartment is lowered because of that, we still have to fight every day just to not go homeless, even though we live on 2 paychecks. We are 1 minor inconvenience away from going completely bankrupt and homeless, canada is honestly one of the worst countries to be right now. I'd rather be at home, in my politically corrupt and underdeveloped country than be in canada, because at least in my home country, i can get good pay and live without fear of going homeless.

I've been living in Canada for the last 10 years ( came here as an international student), and now applying for my permanent residency. Went through high school, post secondary, and now working a full-time job in my field of study. I would say it's long overdue for Canada to scale down on its immigration policies (yes, I've had this thought even when I was a student so anyone who thinks I switched teams can shut up). There are simply not enough houses to accommodate Canadian, let alone immigrants. A lot of them only work minimum wage jobs which neither help the country with shortages in other fields nor their careers in the long term, and overall it gives immigrants a bad rap in the eyes of Canadian citizen. The recent changes in immigration imo is a good first step in the right direction.\n\nEdit: Also I'd like to add that if you're leaving your own home country to join another for a better life, it's your responsibility to adapt and contribute to their society, not the other way around. If you can't do that, stay in your home country.

Immigration is a good thing when laws are followed and processes are adhered to. The influx of people over the last few years of liberals opening the flood gates has proven that Canada ca NOT handle this influx and it is going to get worse before it gets better. I think, by rights, the government needs to take a step back and start overhauling the student visa program that has been reported as ongoing through fraudulent activity. This problem is unacceptable - they want to be here but they don't want to BE Canadian. They simply want to be IN Canada and Trudeau fell for it! They are very racist and shouldn't be approved to come in Canada. If you understood what they think about all other culture you would think twice - just go watch Tiktok they have coverage on what the Indian uncles talk about in Punjab etc. about everyone else. So they get to discriminate in housing market based on race? This is a human rights issue. In addition, we really get the low tier Indians who never had the tenacity to develop a business or master a top skill. Furthermore this mass immigration breeds hate from nationals who feel displaced. We need to clean this up!

These students think they bought citizenship when they were invited here to study. Yes it's predatory, but you can easily google Canada and find out that we have some of the highest cost of living in the world. What they fail to say here is that Canadians are struggling really hard right now and the students are taking up housing and food from charities further exacerbating this crisis. They are also rude and have no interest in speaking to anyone outside of their own culture. On top of that the men need to realize sexual harassment isn't normalized here like in India (i travelled therefor four months and was relentlessly sexual harassed and assaulted) stop being creepy to western women. It's gross and it will get you nowhere.

Canada immigration system needs to be updated, right now even people come here with a visitor visa can work or apply for asylum, there are lot of loop holes in the system.

Moved to Canada in 2016 with skills ( international exposure : UK and Taiwan ) but sorely disappointed to learn the harsh truth of job scarcity/ expenses right away. Lost my self confidence and accelerated my aging. I think there is a bigger sinister scheme behind attracting immigrants. Got my citizenship in 2021 and promptly moved out. ?People wait for citizenship to enjoy more rights, sadly I waited for citizenship to leave the country. Loved the land though.

I am not A Canadian I’m an American, but I interact with lots of Canadians as they find themselves coming down here for one reason to the other and I’m not near the border either. I’m quite far into the US in a major US city.\n\nThere are two types of Canadians that distinct themselves. The first group is the ones that are themselves immigrants that are naturalized. I make this distinction because many cases they have not assimilated. They still have their own culture from another country and is pointed out by the narrator people from south Asia and Asia strongly have their culture And language \n\n( Canada is good for allowing people to live in communities to cut themselves off from the main screen. You have people who speak the Ukrainian language Going Back 4 generations)\n\nThen I’m gonna have to use a euphemism that might make peoples hair stand on the back of their neck. I’m gonna call them. The white Canadians has a euphemism. These are people who are going so far back from the British Isles for the most part and the French also speak another language who have no connection to Europe. The English-speaking Canadians who are you from white could walk down or come down to the US and fit right in in a matter of weeks if they’re not already assimilated into the US Culture ( I hope I don’t see any fireworks start coming from this comment) Many of these white Canadians are now more economically disadvantage than the newer Asian and south Asian immigrants and find themselves often times competing for resources with these newer immigrants. Many immigrants more effectively when it comes to investment funds and banking as they formed their own little cocoon communities that don’t interact with the white Canadians.\n\nUnderstandably the white Canadians feel like they’re shut out, unappreciated by the government and now disadvantage and if they raise any protest, they’re called racist and white supremacist. \n\nJust so you know, I am not a white American, but I have an immigrant father from East Asia and I have relatives of my fathers who are also from the same Asian country who immigrated the Canada that I’m in contact with\n\nCulturally when I run into white Canadians, what I noticed is that their diction and speech is so clean clear and polished. It’s almost like they went to a finishing school or a low level class in diplomacy and public speaking many of these people come off like human resource people in the US because their culture is one of accommodation and consideration for other people they know how to be mindful of other people and these are great qualities\n\nYes, the Canadian government is messing up right now and they’re gonna wind up, ruining the social cohesion of their country if they have any and also wasting their human capital

No! Stayback is not a right but a privilege. \n\nIt gives an opportunity to serve the country, earn experience which will help them back in their home country.\n\nAs an Indian, I literally laugh at these clowns who protest for such privileges.
