Scapegoating immigrants for the fact that there are not enough homes. Deal with the problem directly! Get politicians to BUILD MORE HOMES AND CHANGE INFRASTRUCTURE. Slow down immigration. But Don’t scapegoat the people that are already here.

They allow immigrants....immigrants work hard like in two shifts, they just work and sleep for a decade and then dump people say immigrants are problem.... you vote for govt. Which make policies...and why can't these countries accommodate more people if india and China can accommodate 1.5 billion people....in india on Himalayan region only has more population than Canada...

It’s crazy how most people think that Canada is importing an army of workers !!\nOnly a small percent of the million that come in every year have work visas (in the UK it is 15% and Canada is similar). The large majority are students from developing countries who are looking to immigrate to the first world but don’t have a job, education or any skills. Then it is family reunification and refugees. We are taking in very few highly skilled workers.

In coming times countries will refrain from accepting immigrants for many reasons . Only people from very very special fields like health care will be accepted.

Canada should take in just a small number of immigrants who are highly skilled and only if they are specifically needed - when they can’t find a Canadian to fill it. \nThe universities and bs colleges are making hand over fist while people from the third world, are using the studies to get easy access to our country and corporations love the cheap labour.

Biggest question is... Has the Canadian ever been the native, the same goes to the UK and US. So what as long as you're white you're not an immigrant.. Give me a break. If those people come legally and immensely help your economic to build the nation I don't see where's the wrong.

Becsuse Canada cannot accomidate an influx of people all at once. People from.3rd world countries who suddenly have access to a heath system for free? Thats gonna make for overcrowded hospitals. To say nothing of the lak of housing. \n But .... 30 yrs ago our biggest fear was that there would ,'no longer be a pension'. Those fears are quelled because these immigrants, while working at Tim Hortons will pay tax.

Canada is caught in a trap. We need new immigrants because our demographic is shrinking, Canada's birth rate is only 1.33. But we haven't kept up with public services and housing to meet the demands of the new people. This causes unsustainable house price, healthcare and infrastructure issues.

Immigration is always a short cut to avoid tackling the right problem. Canada is a country of many opportunities. My observation is that people are not making effort to work harder, too many regulations also limit companies to make great innovation that brings wealth here. Immigrants who come to Canada have an enormous amount of energy to build the country but the system always puts aside and cannot unlock their full potential. Just my observation only.

Why? Because in 3 years the demographics of my city has completely changed. Completely. 100% of the businesses are now Indian owned and run, with all the employess being Indian... and 90% of the people on the streets and living there are now non-european immigrants.

Yesterday, the CNE Job Fair was 5,000+ people pack... The funny thing is, these people are Black South Asian... So yes, that's too overwhelming to the immigration law...

Read the room african and islamic immigrants, Europe doesn't want you here , we are full and are struggling to look after our own people

We need to stop the maddening greed that makes it impossible for creating housing for immigrants and born citizens. And the instability in the middle east and south sns central America needs a viable solution so people don't have to flee their homes. This world is such a mess

THIS LATEST DENTAL BENEFITS SCHEME IS GOING TO BACKFIRE. YOU UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND YOUR POLITICIANS STARTED ANOTHER ONE WITHOUT FIXING THE FIRST ONE. I don't understand why people do not put the blame where it belongs - on Trudeau. He is the one that has created this entire crisis by purposely continuing to allow huge numbers of immigrants, half a million to million a year!! People do not see that Trudeau is doing this on purpose to undermine our Canadian culture and country. He wants to destabilize the middle class because he knows that's where the power lies in terms of informed voting. He needs to be removed AS.A.P. before Canada is destroyed completely.

Who would be against immigrants who obeyed immigration laws, followed every legal steps and waited patiently, then worked hard and honestly after they came, and became a decent and respectful citizen? No one.\n\nWho should be against immigrants who abused the system, jumped the line and got into the country or stayed in the country, by filing fraudulent claims or simply went underground, then worked illegally, or simply undermined workers' rights by accepting less than minimum wages, or jobs which totally disregard regulations required by law? Everyone.\n\nAlso every country should put their own people first, which include legal immigrants who are already there, and secure their livelihood before taking in more immigrants.

Legal immigration is great but slowly and the cream of the crop who want to become citizens will BUILD a Better society But Leftist Democrats want immigration for power not the people so they want millions to rush the border

Ridiculous, 2nd biggest country in the fkin world and it has population problems. Is it the immigrants' fault? Or something else behind this? I'm an immigrant from Vietnam. Am I part of the problem? I've worked my ass off in this country, paid insane amounts of taxes. Do I not deserve a place? I came here alone, not with a village. But some people are doing that and causing major damage. And I get bunched up with them and have to suffer the problems I did not cause.

The immigrants that are coming here feel scammed, the older citizens have seen our infrastructure crumble, and our country-born youth are watching their hopes at a decent life fall away. Literally everyone is losing when you bring far more people into a country than its infrastructure can support. There is nothing racist or emotionally charged about that statement.

The sentiment has always been there...people are sick of being called right wing every time they oppose insane immigration policies. Its impoverishing everyone!

Colonization was an experiment in itself. Now even England’s own people are rioting in the streets . And most of the immigrants in England & in Canada are from the colonies . Capitalism, the younger sibling of imperialism, seems to be also a Failure.

Immigrate to Canada is super expensive. They require the people to have a degree, money, etc depending on your nationality.

If you want immigration to be slowed and controlled to a reasonable number then stop voting for tye Liberals, NDP and yes, the UCP. Vote for the People Party of Canada! The top three parties dont want change.

The tenancy board is allowing this knowingly. Why do home owners have to follow different rules than the banks. If home owner doesn’t pay his mortgage, the bank will take his house in no time. The tenancy board does this to immigrant home owners more than to anybody else. They are forcing people to take law into their own hands.

I don't understand why common sense people in, America don't understand that we don't have the housing for, Americans, much less, millions of immigrants as well as other resources all people will need.

This has always been the deal with immigration. A Canadian citizen of British roots will come to you in 2024 complaining about immigration that made his life miserable.. forgetting that his ancestors were immigrants themselves 200 yrs ago. Did you know that the citizenship book (called: discover Canada) clearly says that thousands of indigenous and Aboriginal people died of foreign diseases brought by British/French first settlers coming from Europe.\nIf you are British complaining about immigration in the UK, this is something I'll sure understand cause the UK is your land.\nBut if you are American, Canadian, or Australian.. shut the F up and don't talk about immigration.. unless you are Aboriginal or first nations.

Sooo, the same story everywhere... insufficient infrastructure causes problems that people then combine with xenophobia to produce anti-immigration demands instead of asking for more housing or investment in health services, etc. Okay. Gotcha.

If immigration were economically beneficial then GDP per capita would be rising. It is not. GDP per capita is falling. This means that new immigrants contribute, on average, less than the people already here. That's just math.

It's not immigration that has people upset. It's the forced open border immigration of people who are not a cultural fit and do not share our values.

So the pro immigration people have hope for Canada? But the people that want to stop immigration and actually fix the problems are what ? Anti Canada ?

Why politicians say we need more immigrants. When there are far more people already in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver. I would say enough is enough just limit any new immigrants to big cities and send to other parts of Canada.

Policies are the problem, not immigration. Most people in Dubai are foreigners, and at least half of the people you see in Singapore are not Singaporeans, yet their crime rates are among the lowest in the world! Because they have harsh punishments for crimes!

So according the Guardian, when the Canadians complain about immigration it's a real problem deserving of serious scrutiny, but when English people do the same thing - and are in a far worse situation - they're far right. How does that work again?

People aren't against immigration. They're against poorly controlled immigration. They want to see sensible control over the quantity & quality of people who enter their country. They want politicians to act in the best interests of the people, not their friends in industry who want lots of cheap labour.

Please, blame the govt. I don’t think citizens or immigrants are to blame. Finding stable work in Canada is a challenge these days even for permanent residents/new citizens. No guarantee of work even after acing an interview and building skills as needed. At this point I feel like immigrants are just tax paying scapegoats, who are used by the government and hated by local people. This is not real inclusiveness. Govt must give priority to their citizens and encourage immigration if there are real opportunities to offer. Everyone needs work and stability inorder to live a civilized and stable life. Calling loads and loads here to benefit the economy and politicians just be called third world trash isn’t fair.

This country is falling. The term illegal is before immigrant. Yet they get assistance. That’s illegal. If the government doesn’t perform. The people in this country won’t have a choice but to fight. Any means necessary

As an Indian student, i would like to share with you my perspective \n1) you will never see me dancing in public, blasting music and littering \n\nI actually spend my sundays cleaning plastic from trails \n\n2) i am a full time student for 4 years funding over 90 grand for a bachelor on top of that paying my taxes and paying 1100$ a month for rent being limited to 24 hours a week I do not work outside campus I work the job the college provided to me \n\nThe problem comes up when people use the 1 year and 6 month diploma program to enter the country and work here full time \n\nThey associate themselves only with indians mainly because they cant speak the English language fluently \nTherefore they associate with the exact people they associated with back home \n\nHow will they adapt to a new country if they hang out with the same people \n\n\nI came to canada with a goal \n\nTo make Canadian friends \nLearn about Canadian culture \nStart a new life \nAnd work my ass off to get my degree \n\n\nMost people move here to make more money \n\nThey sell their land and do so \n\nPlease do not associate hard working indians who adapt and leave their past behind with these people who have come here purely to exploit the system\n\n\nTrust me I know it's hard to hear this but good Indians do exist. I have so many Canadian friends who love me as much as I love them. It is not fair that individuals immigrants are blamed for this crisis! It is called discrimination. People is very shallow to judge complex situations.

Listen I feel for migrants and refugees, but it’s also not the job of other countries to take them on. Most countries are already struggling to provide for their own people. This is why I understand why leaders like Trump say he wants to send back illegal immigrants. So much resources have to provided to refugees and migrants. It’s important for people to also push back and reform their own countries. If they are seeking refuge due to circumstances beyond any control, then it’s somewhat understandable…however, many factors need to be considered before taking them on. All country’s citizens deserve the priority first. So many countries are struggling and then are expected to provide for illegal immigrants/migrants :( it’s not fair to these countries.

More than half of immigrants to Canada are economic refugees or Indian that exploited student / work visa. People that couldn't pass Canada's regular immigration requirements otherwise

The final scene at the new Canadians rally is nice to see. But what you’re not seeing are the THOUSANDS of people who aren’t success stories. People who bring nothing to the party but still need a place to live. I’m fine with immigration, I think Canada is a better place for being diverse. But you can’t just keep the tap on when the glass is already full. We need to turn off the immigration spigot for a while, catch up to get our services and housing to a level that is workable, then look at turning it back on with a smarter outlook on the numbers to bring in.

Because there are WAY TOO MANY IMMIGRANTS?\nOverwhelming every capacity Canada has and destroying the standard of living for the vast majority of people? You think that MIGHT be the issue?
