As a person who lives in Winnipeg, it's not bad living here if you're in a certain neighborhood. But downtown is poverty central. more than half of the people waking around downtown are homeless people. Winnipeg used to provide homeless shelters and the city got rid of them, and these people were forced into the streets. The city doesn't even provide outhouses for them. Don't go downtown here.

Canadian immigration sucks. There is no control. I came as an immigrant and I witnessed many heart wrenching situations. Ghost immigrants and non resident Canadian citizens living in India, Dubai, Russia, Lebanon, USA, Israel, Turkey, HongKong etc. They barely lived in Canada, yet they have same rights like us, take child support subsidies, welfare, CPP, Old Age while we bust our a....s in the cold to pay taxes and build the Canadian system. This really put things in perspective of me. As an African American woman I was interested in moving to Canada because you hear so many great thing but to see that I still will be facing the same things is definitely a wake up.
