The huge problem is that these 'migrants' aren't really fleeing from a war-torn land where they're 'victims' of situation. A lot of them are the CAUSE of the crime and war-torn land. They commit the crimes that makes the land that way, then whine. They have kids they can't provide for. They want to work illegally and not pay taxes. They want free handouts and cash jobs to circumvent the government. Every citizen of any country where this happens should be furious.

The root problem is Colombia, which opened its borders, thus allowing thousands of Venezuelans to enter, increasing poverty, crime, women full of children, thugs, etc. Latin America is full of insecurity with this sending neighboring countries problems, these people are a very serious problem where the ONU does nothing, thanks to the ONU we are as we are in our countries, the United States should deport them to their country of origin there should be a a law that returns them to their country and that they send them the aid that they say they require so much, they are lazy criminal thieves, and of course a law that prohibits them from having children. They take advantage of the good faith of these countries, when they are having children, they do not require any kind of help or support, right? they use their children precisely so that these countries give help, they are scoundrels, and measures should already be taken in this regard, The danger we are running thanks to these people, we do not have citizen security, thieves everywhere, criminal gangs operating in our countries where they are killing people, and where is the ONU ? look at the news from Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, etc. and they will realize the big problem they will caused in the United States, they must stop all this. They received all the Venezuelans because there was a lot of money delivered in Colombia, they profited and stole this money, and the problem was really left in the hands of the same population.

As a Canadian moving to the U.S, I can tell you for sure that Canada is a divided country headed for economic ruin. We lose at everything, we cannot build projects without unbearable red tape, approve any energy projects or really provide any economic value at this point. Canada is the only First world country that is headed backwards towards third world country status. I love this country, it has all the raw ingredients (Great people, Fun culture, Endless resources to extract) and we still manage to fail at the federal level. Take it from a born and raised Canadian who is being forced out of my own country.

Everybody has a lot to say about the U.S. and Canada but you never really hear much criticism on the country that doesn't care about or provide for to begin with.

Canada is a wonderful country, but if you're not working, really hard, you will not get anywhere. The average income for one person to be comfortable is 60,000- 80,000 and up.

We keep treating the symptoms when we really need to start finding solutions to the root causes. To the south, it is all America's fault. The American population funded all the cartels, funded the drug trades in Mexico and Latin America, now we let them suffer at the hands of the cartels and turn them away at the border. This country and the people here are disgustingly ignorant to the outside world.

Not everyone can just be considered an asylum seeekr bec of too much crimes in their countries. Grow up! Crimes happen evrywhere ieven in the USa. So if our attitude is just to let everyone come in for free to our country because their own governments are unable to fix their law and order problems, we are fkd as a nation. True asylum seekers were vicitms of war like vietnam war, Ukraine, Iraq, afghanistan (bec our own US govt caused all the strifes). African countries with civil wars. gang or drug crimes dont count because those are also our problems here in the US. If you work in a hospital like me, you will realize that the illegals crossing the borders (i think they have more sophisticated means now) bring their whole families including very sick ageing parents, disabled family members. And guess what, we are taking care of everyone of them more than our own citizens. I have no problem helping people but if our government shows more biases and leninency to the illegals more than the US citizens/legal residents, then I find that problematic. My heart breaks when the social worker would pressure me to discharge frail, sickly aging pts within nte 48 hour time frame bec medicare wont cover them and they are not eligible forrehab facilities as their status are observationinstead if inpatients while the non-citizens can just drop their chronically ill family members bec they cant take care if them as they are all working. They wont even claim them bec they are “busy”.\nThey can just do whatever they want as they dont have to worry about paying for hospital bills or have credit companies go after them. We are also taking care of their US born children but they are not paying taxes. Our co’untry is in the brink if bankruptcy bec of misplaced sympathy. If we really want to help these people, give them work visa so they can be legal and taxable, or better help their countries to help with drug wars, etc. We cannot sustain these kind of unconditional financial bleed for so long. Before we know it, the whole population outside the Us, have transplanted themselves here for free and without fiscal responsibilities.

An important factor as always been for me the different of murders, mugging, rapes, theft, people killed by firearms each year up to 38 000 a year in the US, add other types of weapons, and many more. In Canada we have clean water, lakes everywhere, we have so much more good timber for building, land for farming etc. The cost of health care in the US and schools can easily ruin them, their parents and families. Canada health care is mostly free for everyone, although seemed slow by many, but is it slow or are they worried to see a doctor to realize nothing is wrong with them ?? Going to see a doctor for a cold, a bad night sleep etc are not really worth a doctors time or theirs. The education system in Canada educate their citizens, watching Youtube videos about Americans being asked common questions like : Which 2 countries border the USA?? Sadly most are morons and think it is Europe and France LOL Parents and children's have a way better time when they give birth and spending time with their families ;-) You might get better pay in the US, but then you have to worry about getting shot, robbed or killed, get your car or stolen, house broken into etc. Plus add all the scammers and scams in the USA, that citizens, non citizens and politicians and city officials and even cops do, no thank you.

I'm born and raised in the US (my Family lineage has been here for centuries??) and I went to University in Canada. There are things that I like and dislike about both.\n\nThere are more Canadians coming to the US than in reverse. Politically I'm non Partisan. So I really don't need to say much on that, from both Countries. I think the US doesn't pay a lot of attention to Canada. It is true about all the laws and rules in Canada that interfere in your life. We lived in the Middle East for 5 years and could not believe the difference. Less laws, less rules, less annoyance. It was great. We lived in Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait (though Kuwait had a bit more rules that made life hard mostly when it came to owning a car if you were a foreigner). Also, the weather. Yes, it is very hot in the Middle East but we loved that. I hate the cold here in Canada and there is no guarantee that summer is going to be warm and sunny, so it is hit or miss. Most people who say Canada is the greatest country in the world, have never lived in any other part of the world and therefore, really cannot be sure of their statement.

Well ,there it is than. I live in the Netherlands and as a Dutch I can tell you we pay also a lot of tax compared to our salary, but public facilities, healthcare, roads, buildings and almost everything else is insanely well arranged. But I wonder, I often see that salaries in the USA and Canada easily can be 80K-150K for 'normal' jobs........well in the Netherlands by far most people do not make 50K a year before tax. So if your are complaining in Canada that the taxes are so high, than there is no other explanation that in the basis goods/services/utility bills are much more expensive compared to your salary right? Well Canada is a great country, my grand parents were able to get here in 1957 with their 3 kids, after going through and surviving WWII, work in Europe was scarce and employers were abusing their workers everywhere. My dad was one of those 3 children's, he met my mother here, they had me and my sister. Today i have 3 boys of my own and my sister has 2 girls. Canada has any country as their plusses and minuses, but i wouldn't live anywhere else. I've lived my whole life on the south shore of Montréal, worked in and around Montréal for 35 years. Never ran out of work as long as i was willing and able to work. I've worked in all my life, 65% immigrants and 35% Québecer's. There both are kinda racists in some way and they have there own reasons as well. I was bullied in school till i was 11 years old, i had an accent and dressed differently since my dad made our clothing. Being ridiculed, pushed, punched etc, and then one day the bully of the school approached me and wanted to fight me. I was scared, everyone else were laughing, so i clenched my fist and punched that kid right on the nose. Everyone got quiet and the principal came out, we went to his office and then he asked me straight away : Are you gonna do this again or was it a one time thing ?? I said it will be one time thing unless someone else wants to fight me again, then i will have to defend myself again. He said ok and now go back to class, and that was that. But in the 1970's with the augmentation of people moving here after WWII, people in Canada were scared immigrants would steal their jobs etc. My grand father worked all his life till he died at 82 years old. Worked 6 days a week, 12 to 16 hours a day. My dad had worked all his life 70 hours a week and sometimes 85 hours a week. People complaining about doctors or hospitals, a lot are going in for a cold, the flu, headaches etc, for sure take 2 aspirin or tylenol and stay home, no need to see a doctor for that. If you have a broken limb or were in an accident, you go right in and get fixed up without issue really. Any country as it's inconveniences in the end ?

Hi, My question is not about financial assistance, but still asking maybe you know about it. I am a refugee, who's referred for resettlement in Canada by UNHCR. I have already been through biometrics and medical examination by IOM. Received a letter by IRCC regarding Pre-Arrival Services. When I checked today at IRCC website for estimated time period for Government Assisted Refugees Program, it shows 31 months in the country where I am currently hiding. My question, does it really take so long?

Canada has become a very socialist country under totalitarian ruler, Trudeau. Everyone wants to leave this hell hole. The healthcare system and really all of our infrastructure cannot support the population as it is. As more and more people are let into the country, all of our systems are on the verge of collapse. I just moved to Tomar, Portugal in December and I don't regret it. I worked out of Ottawa before, and it was starting to get really depressing. After COVID hit and I stayed working out of my basement, the isolation got to be a bit too much. It was getting to the point you couldn't even share an opinion with someone for fear of ostracizing yourself. I've already made new friends from a bunch of different countries, and the locals have been warm and welcoming. Very happy to start a new life here.

Very true. I moved to Canada at the age of 20 going on 21 in 1990 and in a few months, I am turning 54. I've been to college twice and I could not get a job in the fields I studied for; instead I am working in a factory and I've worked hard. I'm on medical leave, but I'm now waiting to return to work and my employer has not been making it easy to return. I plan to return to my home country once I retire, because I hate winter weather and when it gets cold, my arthritis flares up and it will get worse as I age. It's very expensive here, car insurance, house insurance, phone bills, grocery bills, property taxes, and federal taxes. You work and work and you get 2 weeks vacation and sometimes, you don't even get to enjoy it. I remember getting sick when I took my holidays. You work long and crappy hours for just enough money to pay expenses and you don't really get to enjoy life. Canada is a beautiful country, but when do you get time to explore and enjoy it? Right now for me, it seems to be when I retire I'll be able to do that, if I can afford it (remember, taxes are high).

I’m sure you’ll start to be reasonable regarding Canada. I had a good life good job & a nice home in Ukraine. Due to the barbarian russian invasion my family & I fled the horrific situation in Kharkiv city. I was driving a mini bus of 4 families! Most are children. We’ve arrived to Europe. Crossing many countries (Poland, Czechia & Austria) we’ve arrived to the country leading the EU. In Poland & Czechia, we’re treat very good by the people. In Austria we got hardly a payed hotel where children could get a rest!!! We still didn’t understand why they don’t want to give us rooms despite we’re paying for our staying!!! In Germany, I believe that the government did its best. But the number of comers is huge! Of course many they got disappointed as happened with me! But I still understand and believe that really the government & people did theirs best. So fast I got a job! The social connection helped to introduce me to the company! But i was not hired, I still to express myself & my qualifications. The manager was understanding, so he accepted to communicate in English and to offer me the job in case if I am successful doing the job during the first week at the site. I had to change the machines menu into English. So the manager was very satisfied with my job and I got that job. The rent! You’ll get it only if you receive the blessing of each member of the county and a very strong social connections! The doctors! To make just a blood work for my son it took 45 days of waiting! To get the doctor appointment, you need that a German guy call and get you the appointment! Because when my wife called, the secretary said: we don’t speak English! But when my wife went for her visit she figured out they’re speaking English better than her!!! My son has an issue of hyperactivity, so they refused to accept him at school more than 3 hours a day! And he was excluded from the birthday parties of his colleagues aswell other events! Other Ukrainian children, they were just attending classes! Just a show! No body cares how help their integration! About, the taxes! The half of my income was going to the government! The money back?! Only 200 euros/ month for my kid. And nothing else. Nothing! To get a neurologist appointment for my son it was necessary to wait 3 months! Prices?! Everything expensive! Technology?! Not better than Canada at all. Bureaucracy, Canada is much less. Banking system, Canada much better. Where in Germany?! The best province in Germany “Munich”. Where people stoped long ago dreaming to purchase a home. Guys, Canada doesn’t through broken people as we were in camps! Where nothing is human there! Canada doesn’t enter you in cercle of hell bureaucracy just to get your kid into school! And if he needs a support he get it right away without any background that he’s not our!!! I got a good job in Canada; so fast. Without any social connections because simply I do not have any. I rent an apartment for my family, without to proof to the landlord that I’m the best guy in the world with a witnessed county about that!!! I want you to be sure, that I am not the lonely case. Just ask Ukrainians stied in Europe for a while before they move recently. Just ask them. I am not saying it’s a paradise or cons don’t exist. Just paradise doesn’t exist! And cons are everywhere. Just I want you to be fair about Canada. Please, be reasonable! The cons in Canada are not catastrophic, and it’s not difficult to fix them. It may take some time, but not difficult. I moved to Canada in 2003, I think over the past few years things really took a turn for the worst and alot of the issues we're encountering now are mostly a result of government incompetency \n\n1) Instead of focusing on treatment and recovery we prioritized harm reduction and drug decriminalization which largely results in the current mental health/addiction crisis \n\n2) Instead of seeing housing as a public need, policies make housing investment vehicles (notably for rich folks in foreign countries) and locals can't really afford to buy or rent as a result\n\n3) Instead of building mass transit infrastructure including subways/light rail we continue to be extremely car-centric, most Canadians can't get around without a car but also can't really afford one due to all the costs associated with ownership. \n\n\n4) Government continues to cut back on healthcare spending despite an aging population across the country\n\nAnd one nongovernment-related aspect which is NIMBYism -- endless delays/protests on all major projects because someone is afraid their backyard views might be obstructed or some old trees might be cut.

Putting professional people from other countries, doctors, nurses etc, through recertification process before being allowed to practice in their fields, is not done only in Canada, it is done in the US as well and other developed countries, l am sure. The purpose is to be sure of the applicant's professional competence. In some countries, they cut corners with their educational system with such things as expo, cash and other things for grades. The Canadian system is prove what your paper says you're, so what is wrong with that. You don't go to an Organized country and expect it to be like Nigeria. I really don't get the belly aching.

First off Canada is not a systemically racist country I’m white I’m also poor and I’ve lived here all my life nearly everyone excluding the native population in a immigrant or a descendant of a immigrant my mom is Portuguese and I also have black family members we are no more racist than anyone else in any other country. I get all the points you guys are making, but I think most people when they visit the states go to the worst representations of us. Yeah LA and NY are cool big cities you see in movies and shit but they’ve been cesspools for a long time. I think people would find places they like by visiting the states and cities people don’t really talk about. That said Canada is probably the only other country I’d live in, I enjoy driving and the lifestyle I have, I don’t think I could have it anywhere else honestly.

I think you ladies are way out in left field and you really don't know what you're talkin about. Unfortunately for some people it doesn't work out for whatever reason usually because they do not want to assimilate very well. I grew up in Ontario to a french-canadian father and an Italian mother in my life in Canada was so perfect said if I had to dream up a better life I could not have done so. I grew up playing all the sports and enjoyed all the different sports and the changes of seasons. My parents had a summer home on the st-lawrence river and every summer we water-ski swam fished, play golf in the morning and barbecues every night right on the water. Even though my grandfather was in the hotel business I was all about sports and enjoying everything about it. I grew up in a town of about 50 thousand about 40 miles from Montreal. When I wanted some great nightlife just drove a short drive to Montreal and it had everything did anyone could want in Nightlife. I have lived in United States for forty years and I can tell you that it really isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Heaven forbid should you get some kind of catastrophic illness you are screwed. I knew a woman who work for travelers insurance for 30 years at the best insurance a money could buy had suffered a couple of strokes and was on the verge of going broke had she not died when she died. People think that insurance continues to pay his long as you're ill and nothing could be further from the truth. This lady was going to have to sell her house to continue paying for round-the-clock care had she not died when she did. United States middle class is getting wiped out. I've seen enough poverty and hardship in this country to last a lifetime. I find greed to be running rampant in this country. When I grew up in Canada there was always the grass is greener on the other side and when I did move over to the other side the US that is I can tell you unequivocally the dead grass is not greener on the other side. There are more millions and millions of people here that are one or two paychecks away from being homeless. And we're talkin 2023. Now let's talk about violence. There is a mass murder in the United States every single day of the year. And a mass murder is defined by four or more people being killed by one person at one time. Killing these so out of control in the United States that now even six-year-olds are shooting their teacher. I find a tremendous amount of built-up Anger from people. Food is very expensive and shelter is also out of control and non affordable to most people. Again I find United States being able to paint a much Rosier picture then does really exist. And there are more con artists and thieves , Crooks, con-artists, bamboozlers, cheats and scammers then anywhere that I've ever been. And I will say this is it it ain't getting any better and I don't see it ever getting better. I find it is everybody out for themselves no matter who they cheat. I live in Southern California and I can tell you that night life where I live is non-existent. Understand that LA and Hollywood they always have to glamorize everything to sell it to tourists. Just remember that things today are not what they were 40 years ago. Middle-class people in Canada would also be just middle-class people in the US. But if your life means anything to you as far as safety and raising a family then Canada wins hands down end of discussion. People that say Canada is boring is because they are boring. That's what I found to be pretty standard across the board. Life is what you make of it. But I will say that you gals definitely need to move away if you don't like Canada. Do not let the door hit your ass on the way out. And just for your information Canada ranks annually as one of the top countries in the world to immigrate to. Canada is the second largest country in the world by land area and next to Saudi Arabia has the third largest oil Reserves in the world. Canada has huge amount of freshwater which most of the rest of the world seems to be lacking and having spent my Summers on the Saint Lawrence River one of the Great Rivers in this world. I wouldn't change my twenty years in Canada for anyplace else in this world and I will be moving back shortly.

I'd be glad if my country's politics were boring. That's because politicians do their job properly instead of smoke and mirrors. Sadly it's not a case for Poland - they really pull off pathetic shitshow for the masses.

8:03 I was honestly thinking the same thing because most first world countries have good tap water and my experience with the States is that in our tour group, we were told that 1) tap water was bad and 2) buying water is expensive. Even in a hotel, the water in the bathroom was so murky I really thought there was something wrong with my eyes. Sure not all hotels/places are like that, but not having access to such a simple necessity in a first world country sounds kinda crazy to me.

Funny you say that about America being a bunch of countries lumped together. Because that's really what it is. We're a union. A collection of individual territories. United by a constitution and federal government.\n\nThat's why states have their own national guards, individual laws, social norms, state flag etc. This is why governers have to ask the federal government for aid. Outside of natural disasters or an attack. \n\nFederal government's job is to maintain the stability and growth of the union. And deal with anything that can threaten the stability of the union as a whole. \n\nSuch as a terrorist attack, natural disasters, serial killer killing across multiple states. Funding projects such as maintaining interstate highways, Airports, national parks etc. Outside of that? States do their own thing.

I often find that poverty is so different in American than other places. I'm referring to more of the mindset. I noticed that when facing poverty like other countries people are still innovative and surviving. It feels like poverty culture here is really like people have given up on morality, honor, and based on greed. I grew up in a very gang infested area of wisconsin and it was like a lot of young people trying to make quick easy dollars slanging. It was really like people didn't care about family, friends, neighbor, or appearences. I find that poverty culture kind if embodied by american culture that pursuit of wealh at the cost of others. Why i felt like living in America was so different. Like in Barbados even if the area is poor everyone is your auntie, your uncle, your daddy, or mommy. If someone is acting out everyone in that neighborhood corrects you. Everyone comes out to celebrate you though too when you do good. People help and talk to each other. Yeah we it has poverty, crime etc. but it's nothing like how it is in America.
