Canada's Cost of living is Joke compares to here in Sri lanka an Average Srilankan Salary is 200$ per month but 1 liter petrol cost more than 1$ imagine how hard it is live here in Sri lanka not only that we import 90% things foreign Countries so Food,Electronics, etc are unimaginably Expensive for example our Government is adding 300% Tax for Vehicles .even though I'm earning 6000$ per month its still not enough for my needs I have to pay like 60000$ to get Canadian Visa But I don't wanna disrespected by some Racist scumbags I'll do anything against people who disrespected me untill they say sorry to me because to me Respect is Everything in My country we Respect Every one we still have Scumbag Human being they are like less than 1% . your Information is very useful for me I'll never come to Canada I was ready to get the Canadian Visa thank you for saving me

Canada is still one of the world's best countries to live in.

It sounds like Canada uniquely combines the negative sides of Europe and the U.S., without the positive sides of either: For Europe, salaries are on the lower side and taxes are higher; for the U.S., it’s a work-work-work culture with poor work-life balance. But both compensate for their downsides: in Europe you live in the middle of literally dozens of different countries where you can never get bored, countries as diverse as Spain and Switzerland and Sweden - and you can freely travel and work in all of them. Interesting points, I’ve had friends leave but they always preserve their citizen status just in case they get sick. Health care is so expensive for example in the US that people lose their homes to pay for surgeries and medications like insulin. So its definitely valuable to be Canadian if just for health cost reasons. Have the people that you know that have left Canada renounced their Canadian citizenship?

Hey. It all about choice. So let’s get it straight. The people who worked hard to build and develop Canada over the last 200 Years and paid their taxes, that’s ok. You however, feel you shouldn’t have to pay your way like Canadians. If you love your Country and the lifestyle, why did you leave it? No one twisted your arm to leave your fantastic Country and and move to this awful nasty boring and expensive Country with such uninteresting people unfriendly people. Be careful. In this video you both sound like spoiled brats. Many people in your home country would do almost anything to trade places with either of you. It sounds like you would both be happier if you went back home. When you get there please contribute some of what you learned in Canada to the people around you. Your 8 hrs+ waiting in the ER is literally a standard waiting time...so please be PATIENT! ( just getting a little sarcastic here, i know it sucks!) 35 to 40% of my money go the government ( although i feel they take 50%) and life is not that cheap ( a lot of Physicians leave expensive places like NY because they can't afford them anymore! ) have you heard of HOMELESS workers in LA? ( some have 2 jobs but still can't afford an apartment and live in their cars ) things are hard everywhere, especially if you are an immigrant living in one of the coldest place in the world (btw nobody called you, that was your choice, so suck it up!) I hope one day, while Im still young, I can go back home to work for my people, and not when I retire and tired to have my people work for me, how selfish and opportunistic is that mentality! One of the problem is that the doctors and other medical professionals use the low costs educational systems in Canada to get an education and then promptly leave for the US. Taxes are high in Canada. But try paying 20,000 to 25,000 to buy health insurance for a family of three. And you go to hospital for a week and end up with $125,000. Bill. When you consider the cost of education and medical. In the US where you paying high health insurance, you wait 8 hours in ER. I think most immigrants are too disgruntled. Many of them.move to Us and regret it. Sometimes, we want to come into Canada and look to get rather than contribute. Where in the US are seniors getting old age pension. Don't come to USA its the same way but worse. The rent is very high. I can save you a trip. I was born and raised here in USA. Texas and Las Vegas would be good for you two. But people work like dogs with no benefits in Vegas. Only a few Jobs have benefits. I lived there. Also do your research here. Food prices, gas, housing is expensive. . You need taxes for your hospitals, rads, defence etc. The health care problem is not unoque to Canada. We also have it in the UK. The healthcare system is much much better than in the USA and better than in West Africa. Cost of living is high everywhere. You don't look homeless. Try living in the USA. Go back to college and get a better qualification and earn more. In the USA you are more likely to be shot than in Canada. Go back to University and get a good degree or try Nigeria or Ghana. Well I hope you two young and beautiful ladies stick with Canada. \n\nI will say you might be a little off when you say that in the USA you will be paid more and can become richer. The fact is the US has the highest inequality among wealthy nations. And the worst health care, they place 20 out of 20 in the OECD. When I tell Africans not to go to Canada they never listen. Canada is a really cool country. There's no doubt about that but in winter the weather gets really cold, dull, grey and depressing. Instead of moving always to The UK, US or Canada, why not try the Caribbean and some central American countries. These countries are very colorful, lively and bright with climate similar to ours. There are lots of folks over there that look like us as well except that you may have to learn a little Spanish which shouldn't be a problem at all. \nI'm a Nigerian too.\nI also dreamt of moving to Canada 15 years ago. I was so crazy in love with the country at first but because I was aware of how depressing winters can be I had to switch my dream destination to the Caribbean. I choose Panama because of the large Afro Panamanian community over there. Secondly because Panama looks like a more developed version of My country, Nigeria with beautiful beaches and a nice tropical weather. It's one of those few Caribbean nations with a free world class universal healthcare system like most countries in Europe.

As for skilled workers, applies everywhere as you need to relearn laws, policies etc and cannot get into any professional role just like that. As for work-life balance, you get plenty here unless you are working non professional jobs. It is much worse in the US as you work crazy hours professionals or not although, has more fun things to do than Canada. What you can do is take mini vacations during long weekends etc by driving down to the US or a different city here in Canada to break the monotony.

it's understandable that people get homesick, but how many people are crossing thru deserts, the ocean, going thru countries like libya, greece, where they're place into enslavement, beaten, having to be exploited as sex workers, and they still haven't arrived to their destination. \n\nthese people what take what you have in Canada without looking back. Canada business system prefers the big franchises businesses that have millions of dollars. If you have a small shop or restaurant get beaten by the big corporations that has franchises. the food costs are high and when selling u just cant sell for a better profit that can actually make you money. The Chinese and Indians knows how to sell little many items at a low cost just to be on a very tinny profitable way to keep on going. The Multi big paying makes money in Canada not the small business immigrants come and create. Those business don't built wealth because the big corporations are pushed by the Gov more in creating jobs and paying the big corporate taxes that in turn the taxes help support the social programs for those that cant work and also providing the basic needs to those that needs it through the taxes paid. In many African states many of the individual business that strife and create wealth because there isn't too much huge corporations that competes with this small business like the first world nations. In SA for example we have seen an explosion of many migrants going there creating small business and striving better than they will be in Canada. The taxes are high in Canada that's true u cant be rich sorry u will work until you lose your hair f not your hair turns white in a very short time due to too much stress and worries. Canada is good for social programs it takes care off those that don't' work if you work forget about getting rich but supporting those that don't work through the allocated taxes. Canada and the first world nations supports Big corporation and Franchising not really a fan of small business even when they are here they just don't create huge profits to think they will make it. In fact when the economy falls those shops easily shut down entirely and when they do reopen they barely make profits. Many of the same reasons would also apply to the US. I think getting your citizenship/passport is important so you have the option to return if you decide to leave. I lived in Canada but currently reside in Florida. I don't miss the long winters but I like the summers there. I think the crime rate and health care costs are a big plus in Canada. We have Miami beach but frequent shootings there have kept me away. So it boils down to an individuals choice.??

First of all I'm guessing you are in Toronto or Vancouver or Calgary maybe Montreal, The most expensive places in Canada to Live for sure. I live in Manitoba where the cost of living is pretty close to the cheapest in Canada. Yes minimum wage is $11.95 and apparently going up shortly. Free health care you mentioned waiting 8 hours in emergency but you failed to mention if you need to see a specialist your talking months and you'll probably die first. I don't think higher tax rate is a good point when you compare it to a country like Nigeria. The maximum tax rate you can pay in Nigeria is 24% and it begins from anything from 5.6 million naira per annum. After paying that tax you pay for the school fees of your children, and you pay that 3 times every year, Asides school fees you buy generator and fuel it everyday to get something close to constant power supply. (I don't want to include healthcare because if you have a good HMO they will sort out that perfectly well)\nSome of us still pay security due if you live in an estate. \n\nThe point I am trying to make is that if your tax rate is high let's say to up to 50% and you are sure of the quality of education your children is getting in public schools so you don't have to pay for school fees, You don't have to buy generator and fuel it because there's constant electricity supply and there's good security so you don't have to pay for private security. You might realized that tax rate in Canada is effectively cheaper than here in Nigeria. Because you will still pay for school fees, generator and maintenance and private security and all these have a way of eating deep into your income.

Taxes are crazy in Canada that's for sure. I am white and I was born here in Canada and wish I could leave and go to the USA where taxes is so much less and you can get farther ahead then in Canada. I wish I had a job working online then I would go somewhere else like southeast Asia or Mexico where the cost of living is so much less and you can live like a king on very little money compared to Canada or the USA.

I couldn't agree with you more. Canada has become another one of those mindless Totalitarian states like American China, Russia, etc., etc. I spent 10 years in China working as a teacher. I went there because I was fed up in my country and when I returned it was worse than when I left. As I am now 68, if I can afford to leave again I will and I'll never return again. I told the Chinese who knew me I was returning because I missed the land, but I never really missed the people. Now that I'm back, since Jan. 2022, I want to leave again and I will and Never return. Health care in this country is in the Sh*t-house, it's impossible to get a family Dr. In part I returned for medical reasons, but now would rather die than have to deal the the Canadian medical bureaucracy - REALLY !!! My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! For me personally, it is the Canadian extreme loneliness and lack of willingness to open to others that really shuts me down… I am fed up and and tired of paying taxes in a country where some (not all) hospitals and some retirement homes treat patients like … objects, not human beings! I was born in South Asia, studied and worked in uk for 5 years. Immigrated to canada and stayed for 8 years and am currently in Hong Kong for some family reasons over the last two years in covid. What I can tell is there is no place like canada in the whole world. It’s heaven on earth. I was born in Quebec, I grew up there, studied, worked, lived almost all my life, except for a few years in Toronto and Ottawa for studies and work, where I never really felt at home, but like in a foreign country. I love Quebec, its history, its culture, its language, its way of life and Quebecers in general. I get used to its climate, its six months or so of winter, but still with nice, hot summers. I also put up with the high cost of living due to the multiple taxes to be paid, the highest in North America, which means that, paradoxically, it still costs less to live here than elsewhere in Canada and to the social safety net Quebecers benefit and which is the envy of many citizens elsewhere in the country. The shadow on the board: the hostility and racism of English Canada, including most Anglophones in Quebec and the allophones who join this recalcitrant community towards Quebec and Francophones in general, the ambient wokism, the complacency of the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, who has transformed the city into a huge bike path, Justin Trudeau's hypocrisy regarding Quebec legislation for the protection of language and secularism, which he intends to challenge before the Supreme Court of the country . If I weren't so attached to Quebec, these would be the main reasons that would make me leave Quebec, but to go where, like the wandering Canadian of song, banished from his homeland... Where? Any informed suggestions?

All Canada not only Vancouver it’s very isolated.\nPeople can’t afford to buy a house because the house marketing is 3 times the price compared to USA. The houses have shitty materials compared to my original country, and you simply can’t built by your own and that’s why every price rises.\nAnother issue you didn’t mention it’s there is no scholarships, it’s incredible expensive to get a proper education like university, and even so, they no offered scholarships. In Mexico almost everyone can reach the opportunity to study to be anything (lawyers, doctors) AND there is why you can get professional services everywhere. Here in Canada the business never have profesional services (like a real Human Resources, who studies for 5 years to be the best influence in a company, or a real engineering taking care of the machines in a plant. Canada only hire the cheap hand to avoid paying and I can understand it, but if more people could study more money moves in the country.\nAnother issue is there is not any public transportation into the cities or provinces, so if you don’t have a car, a driver license (it’s not easy to get one) and pay the super expensive insurance (it’s incredible 10 times more expensive than in Mexico) your can’t move from the place you are. Because of the weather you simply can’t move in a bike.\nPeople live just for pay rent, buy some groceries and buy some pre owned cloths in the thrift store.\nAnother problem it’s many rules to open a small bussines (like selling some food) \nHealth care it’s not exactly free: you need to pay for your prescriptions out of the hospital or if you never been hospitalized. And it’s very expensive to pay for them. You have to wait (to be true emergencies are different, they are good on that) you have to wait like 12-24 months to get an appointment with a specialist (gynecologist, etc) dental is not covered. \n\nExcuse my English I know it’s not very good but I love your video and I had to left my comments

I’m a citizen with dual PG and live in USA. Initially there were many hurdles like lack of Canadian experience but I got over the problem. After 10 years of living like a homeless person in Toronto, I spent a lot of money and did my second masters (MBA) only to realize that all those stories were BS. There are no jobs in Canada. Now it’s 20+ years since I first migrated to Toronto. I still can’t get a proper job in Toronto.

Every province has good and bad qualities, except Ontario. I lived in Ontario on and off for about 20 years. Not one good thing comes to mind about this province, not one. I've also lived in Quebec and Alberta, both great. Ontario is like the armpit of Canada, it just stinks, definitely because of the government overreach, extremely high tax robbery on everything you buy, very high cost of living compared to both Quebec and Alberta. Both Alberta and Quebec are wayyyyyy cheaper to live than Ontario, and to be totally fair, the people in Ontario seem to be the most narcissistic i've seen within 3 provinces i've lived in, and with the worst roads. So much car repairs every single year from just driving on the main roads, which are basically just pot holes because they line their pockets with the taxes instead of using the money to fix the roads. The people in gov make so much money, there is none left after their payday to fix the roads or build any parks or things for families. Ontario is actually a bad place to live, especially with other good options available, it's the only province i don't recommend moving to if you want a decent quality of life. You can't even find a doctor here unless you live within or drive for 2 hours to get to the city. It's extremely inconvenient and expensive for no reason other than tax grabs and high fees for every single thing you have to do in life, there's a high fee for that in Ontario.

I left Canada more than 10 years ago. Canada is not a fair country for someone who works hard like me. I used to work 10 hours a day and 6 days a week. After tax deduction, my income is almost the same as the next door neighbour who plays video games all day and getting paid by government's unemployment check every month.

Bureaucracy, col weather, socialism in Canada will turn Canada to like a Latin American country. I left it to USA for education and with an MBA I couldn’t get a reasonable job in Canada, so I worked in USA and recently I thought to go to Ukraine or Moldova and find a sweetheart , buy a farm and stay there. But suddenly covid19 and Putin screwed up my plan. But I’m not giving up. Malaysia or Portugal should be cheaper and warmer. Oooh Canada, jus come for a visit. It turns to become a dumpster of refugees not for a bright future. ?

Quebec...get right. I was born in that hell-hole and as an English kid growing up in the highly separatist east end of Montreal my childhood was miserable. The french are so bent on having their own little country they treated anglos like dirt. Try driving east towards New Brunswick and stopping anywhere to get food or whatever, you better parlez the francais or you'll be looked at like you a criminal. How dare you speak the hinglich au Quebec. Best province my ass. They don't even consider themselves a part of Canada. Take the once named St. Jean Baptiste holiday on June 24th, it's now la fete nationale. Sure sounds Canadian right! You got your list upside down, this video is garbage.

I don't get why the hell people from our country Bharat ( India ) do go to these f****g countries despite having such a beautiful country Bharat. We have everything in our nation but still these stupid people have to migrate to racist country Like USA,Canada ,Australia and many more countries.

Don’t come to Vancouver Canada to study unless your family is rich. I run a rental business here and LOTs of international students either live in basements or struggle hard to come up with rents. I don’t blame them cuz this city is hell EXPENSIVE. Also even if you get a degree from UBC you are gonna get a job as a bank teller that pays like $16/hr if lucky. People suffer from seasonal depression for about 4-5 months/year. Better just stay in your country if it is not in the war zone and has relatively good health care system. If you can succeed in Canada you can do it in your home country. Not trying to discourage anyone but just wanna help people make rational decisions?

Anyone in Quebec would likely agree that they are the best province. However I have yet to meet anyone from outside of Quebec who would agree. Quebec seems to get the most government handouts and assistance including by means of taxing other provinces to pay for Quebec's needs. BC is going down hill as the real estate industry divides the rich and poor to a breaking point. Sask suffers from this issue too as entry level jobs are brutal, underpaid and cost of living rises insanely. Canada is screwed in a lot of ways...

Alberta #2.... LOL! Kidding right? \nThat would equate to Wyoming being the 2nd best place to live in the U.S. while having seasonal climate like Alaska without the mountains.\nAlberta's all good if you love 2 months of 'summer' known as 'Rodeo Season' followed by 10 months of sub arctic WINTER known as 'Hockey Season', wear only plaid shirts and jean jackets, accessorize your all denim wardrobe with a leather belt sporting a chrome buckle the size of a hubcap, your choice of footwear consists of hard and uncomfortable high heel boots with ridiculous pointed toes, wouldn't dare leave your home unless fully costumed like a casting extra in a B movie Spaghetti Western complete with a hat the size of bucket, while having dietary needs that are easily satisfied from both of the 2 known food groups of Beef or Wheat, and your 2 favourite 'cultural interests' are 'Country' & 'Western'. People leave Canada,no jobs discriminations all levels, harsh 6 months winter, auto - home insurance very high basic foods like milk cheese gas , cheap in USA than Canada , house prices and taxes higher than USA , better medical treatments, you pay insurance and get better service, you will save money to buy insurance , cars , gas, insurance prices lower than Canada In Canada nothing is free you. Pay in taxes and worst service you getting, try to move to South sunny weather choose smaller or medium size city , lots of jobs ,lower prices house and taxes , you will have more savings in your account .

Quebec, Nova Scotia and NFLD are tied for history. I suggest visits to Fortress Louisbourg & The Citadel in Halifax and yes Montreal & Quebec City are historic and lovely. You have reminded me of why my friends from the subcontinent love Canada and wish to make their home in our drop dead beautiful country. Really, their is no worst in Canada unless you want to live on the beach all year. Then your likely to get skin cancer.

For a guy like me living in India, this is a sort of cultural shock! I never knew this side of US and Canada. I guess that’s something to do with the type of governance. It seems like it’s a baggage of capitalism. Focus on “you”. When India was socialist (still is, to a lesser extent than 90’s, people were more open. If a person was going to city from village, a dozen of villagers would accompany him till he boards the bus. That’s gone. Here, sometimes, the socialising is too much. You’ll be asked about personal questions like why are you not having a kid. When you’ll get married etc etc. Some people feel big cities are better. There is socialising but people mind their own business. I am so very glad that I was born and brought up playing and dancing on streets!!

Great video. I am a Canadian that works with newcomers. I have lived abroad and back again. We recently did a trip to the U.S. A great trip overall but I agree with a lot of your comments about the suburbs. We saw some beautiful neighbourhoods in the US (and here in Canada) but there are almost no signs of life. I grew up in the suburbs and it was nice as a kid because we were always outside but as soon as I finished school, I couldn't wait to get out. My old neighbourhood is now a bedroom community built for the car. Now, I live downtown in a major Canadian city. My house is very small and old but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I always see people, rain or shine, snow or hail. I see families, dogs, dogwalkers, children, seniors with canes. I love it because I see life. Living in a neighbourhood like the one in this video would indeed feel lonely and isolating.

I am from Pakistan. Studied and lived in USA for over 10 years. Don't know where my time has gone so fast. Life is very busy in usa (I lived in Chicago, Denver, Orange County, CA and LA. People have to work two jobs to ends meet. Most people have to share housing...that really sucks. Constant expense (rent or mortgage payments are so high people have to constantly work. Whatever time people get they run chores and stay home and chill. You see ultra rich or people on welfare having fun at the beach. I have had a very close friend from pakistan came to usa same time as I did. we both never had enough time to meet up on regular basis. even when we met we had so many things in back of our minds running. I had couple of girlfriends (of course at different times) but they had other boyfriends at the same time. And number one thing they had on their mind is was get money from you. What you wear and drive is what you are. People consider you obsolete if you wear non branded shoes or older models of branded shoes. I traveled extensively in the US and Canada. But in East Europe like Romania and Poland I found people very friendly. Now I am back in pakistan facing basic problems like traffic jams, noisy honking streets and so on but for some reason i feel worriless and relax. whenever i go out, people start to talk to you and you feel like home. everyone is super friendly and is available for help. however you cant really trust people with money though. hahahha. After living in USA for so long I do really miss many things about it though. the efficient system is definitely a big plus. and i have realized that some times i like being all alone for extensive period of times. but knowing that i can meet up anyone any time gives me peace of mind. i have realized hard way that man made martials can amuse you to some extent only. you need live beings are you.

Totally agreed. I came back from Canada in 2019 because I was getting all kinds of panic attacks due to loneliness and I also have gained so much that I got into depression. It’s been 3 years now and I am still in India and now I have made my mind like the moment I start getting panic attacks I will either come to India or go to Australia and stay with my sister . Sadly I don’t believe in Canadian marriages as these are short lived marriages. So loneliness hits me even more but the better part is I am single so I have some options to escape from lonely life.
