i was talking with a coworker today who had a good job in brazil , farm , house etc . he sold everything he had to bring his family to canada . now he dosent own in canada and has no savings driving an old vehicle that barely runs . i’m just like why are people like this struggling so much in a country that once was easy to find jobs and make good money ? my advice is if your doing good where you are don’t think the grass is greener on the other side .

It's obvious that you have never lived outside of Canada. Canada is probably one of the last countries in the world that accepts people for who they are and has a decent level of respect for belief systems. I get that you want to raise your children in a better environment, but trust me when I tell you this... you are walking into a world of disappointment. Canada itself is about 15 years behind other countries when it comes to this downwards spiral you are speaking of. Sadly, you will find out soon enough that this utopia you want to find, simply doesn't exist and you will discover you have left the variable comforts and safety of Canada behind. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but am simply sharing what I discovered when I searched for the same things. I think L. Frank Baum said it best.... if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. If you are lucky in life you will discover that the world doesn't stop turning for you, and that the world that you dream of for your children must be created from within. That being said, it is good to travel and trying different ways of living is a wonderful education for your children. Just remember to shield your hearts and stay positive if things don't turn out the way that you hope they will. Best of luck and stay safe.

This is a very thoughtful and balanced review. As a retired Canadian who had a good job for most of my life, I'm saddened by the decline in almost all areas of life, lifestyle and and people's aspirations in this country. This decline actually seems quite rapid, I would say from 2015 onwards. Housing in major centres was expensive, but it has skyrocketed in the past decade. There has been a decline in many institutions: 1. health-care, especially noticeable since the pandemic that coincided with many boomer medical staff retiring, but also by our sclerotic institutions refusing to enable foreign-trained doctors to work here. Many foreign-trained doctors in the Vancouver area are doing jobs way below their qualifications while many people cannot even get a family doctor. Crazy. Econonically, there seems to have been no plan at all from the government as we exited the pandemic. At least the US had a plan, to 'build back better'. Our government just floats along as if everything is fine, when the decline is very visible especially to older Canadians. We have admitted 1/2 a million people a year from overseas, so our economy should reflect this and show an upswing. But no, we're in a 'technical recession' as of December and probably a real recession as of last week. I have never voted Conservative in my life, but Trudeau is a flaky dimwit with a famous name who has no clue what he is doing. A fool, in fact. He's mismanaged our foreign relations beyond belief, and nothing has improved domestically. When Pierre Poilievre says 'Canada is broken', I believe it. We deserve much better leadership; in Canada's case, the rot does come from the top. Justin the entitled idiot is much more like his mother than his father.\n\nLong rant. Anyway, I just wanted to praise your balance, and your decision to stay for now. Moving from one country to another is a huge life-change and you have worked hard to be here. I strongly support you for another reason. I grew up in Canada and can't think of a better place to live; thus, I'm glad to see people who don't like my culture leave rather than change Canada to fit their needs.

You raise some good points but I'm glad you're leaving because people who agitate our country with foreign blood feuds, identity politics, assassinations or airplane bombings are not welcome. Peaceful citizens and immigrants who want to build our nation, whatever their ethnicity are welcome.

I’m sorry you chose to move to this dump. When Canadians are leaving Canada, you _know_ things are bad and you should avoid coming here. Think about how many people want to leave, but can’t.

I want to give a different perspective. I'm from Singapore. My entire family was here and they have moved back. My sister moved back first because my British brother in law could not take the cold. My brother moved back because he wanted to make money and be rich. My parents moved back to be close to their grandkids. But no way will I move back. Constant heat strokes from the weather, materialistic and shallow people, preference given to married people and families, lack of hinterland and nature, lack of winter sports, and poor LGBTQ+ rights. I have not lived in Singapore since I was 18 and I am also childfree, with no intention of raising a family, only travel locally, and am not into the acquisition of commercial goods for gratification. I love going on roadtrips and skiing every winter and playing hockey year round. I like that I can marry who I love here and can acquire a home without needing to be married. I understand how people who want to make money and raise families would see the brighter side of other countries, but Canada, despite its flaws, is my brighter side.

I once got lost in a car in mea shear i’m (a very very ultra orthodox area) in Israel…people screaming and blocking my way…not so different, sadly. All fundamentalists are all horrific. (I am Jewish)

What I have heard about Canadian policies, they are idiotic - to say it nicely. However, the Canadians clearly want to go on with the existing agendas, so I'm getting tired of these videos claiming that Canadians are not happy. \nNo. They are happy! Otherwise they would not vote the same people to go on governing them. Mr. Trudeau seems to be such a darling of a man, that you Canadians just can't cope without him. if not for covid I would likely have left myself by now. Trudeau has made living here unbearable, I never seen a PM hate his own people as much as this clown. I'm born Canadian and at least from my mom's side at least 5 generation. Dad was immigrant from Barbados. Somehow Trudeau has been able to triple our debt owed yet everything has gotten worse in this country. Unfortunately I lost my job during Covid and ended up spending most of my savings and retirement. So having to start from ground zero again which is infuriating. I would SOOOO love to be living in somewhere in south east asia right now Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, etc.

I think every immigrant is a seeker , I'm from India , people move to metro cities like Mumbai or delhi for better life , then they move further if they get better opportunities so some have made it to Canada or other countries what so ever ,if someone would say some bad points about the country then there would be some judging asking questions like if we don't like it here , why don't you come back .... What i think if a person gets opportunity and is seeking to grow for a job or anything must just keep seeking to the best place to settle.

I'm sorry I don't know much about your family. \nIf you can work from anywhere in the world, then you have a few choices. Someone suggested Malaysia. I think that is very good option. Its technically advanced, people are kind and warm, living expenses are very reasonable. I have only visited once, but I loved it. Felt completely comfortable (I don't wear the hijab). This was my experience from over 25years ago. \nIf you want to consider an Arab country, I would highly recommend checking out Oman, that is where I am from. I lived in the US for over 25 years, and now I love living in Oman. Its very calm, people are kind and welcoming. Winters are great here, but summers are very hot. Most foreigners who come here, never want to leave. The sense of serenity here is addictive. \nGood luck in your search.

I was genuinely thinking of moving to Canada, but I'm glad I didn't. Instead, I moved north in the UK to escape the high prices around London for rent. When I say high prices I mean anywhere within 50 miles of London as the place is so expensive people will commute for miles.\n\nI ended up working in a warehouse for more money, and paying less rent for a flat instead of a room. I even met a lady at work who is Canadian and moved to the UK. The lady said She was in a rut she could not escape. Luckily her parents were from the UK, so she was eligible to migrate to the UK.

Been dying to leave this place for 15 years now.. but unlike Canada, it's quite hard to actually get a work permit and stay in the countries I've attempted to live in.. meanwhile I've watched as people just flock to Canada on student visas and end up staying here. I'm not 'anti immigration' but it definitely needs to be a two way street between countries.. If I could get a work visa to a few different places, mainly Japan, I'd pack up and leave tomorrow.. Canada just isn't it for me and hasn't been for a long time..

I see the simple way of stopping that is sent our military down to the border and they just load up the m 60s. I guarantee the people will turn around and go back into mexico where they belong

Born and raised in Canada but I'm investigating leaving. An absolute mistake for anyone to move here. If I stay in Canada, I would fully expect to die on a gurney in a hospital hallway. Terrible health service, awful traffic and road rage, ridiculous food costs and restaurant prices, mean rude anti-social people, crappy weather, and bad government. Canada is not close to what it was or hoped it would be.

As an atheist I wish you all the best, it's true the political games destroying the West from within. Though I'm on the side of LGBT and i believe that they should have rights like everyone else, at the same time I understand that some extreme ideologies can go and push so far and I agree that let kids be kids. My only concern is that Islamic countries do not have any rights for LGBT people at all, in fact, they are being prosecuted based on religion since religion is basically the law. I guess only time will tell if you made the right choice, I can not recommend any country this is something that you need to research deeply and make a decision for yourself.\nI'm in British Columbia, and my child had never experienced any drug queen library stories or anything like that, nor did teachers teach them anything without our consent, there is full transparency between teachers and parents.\nAt the same time, I'm just like you disproving collective punishment of Palestinian citizens, the atrocities are sickening and I couldn't believe that the United Nations is tiptoeing and not being proactive in defending Palestinian children, it's just unthinkable to me that it's happening in the 21st Century.

I’m originally from Kazakhstan but have lived all my adult life in California (21-41) and now considering moving out of state or even country. I do have still another 10 years I need to live here to accomplish a few of my career goals to live more comfortably afterwards, but in a long run this is not a place to live anymore. Even in the past 20 years I’ve lived in California I’ve witnessed economy and the whole family values goes down the drain, more homelessness, less opportunities, people are more selfish, etc. I know it is happening all around the world too but as in this video it was stated, it is much harder for me to be a practicing Muslim in an environment surrounded by non Muslims (no offense) - just the lack of mosques in my vicinity, an Islamic environment for my child, halal foods, etc. There are mosques and halal food, but I have to drive for it. I have wonderful friends, coworkers and neighbors that are non Muslim and super nice and we have great relationships. But there are oftentimes situations when I wish they understood me better like with this situation about Palestine. I think Palestine is the last drop we needed to firmly make the decision to move.

Almost all pf these problems have happened so drastically because we basically opened the borders bringing 300k people to 1.2M per year into the country. Now there is no room, hence rent, hence crime, hence no jobs.

I'm Canadian born and raised.The main problem is too many people are left leaning so we have the same problems as California,to much bureaucracy,high taxes,crime,homelessness,drugs etc that's all a biproduct of liberalism.High taxes are needed to fund left wing policies like the climate scam,giving billions to ukraine,womens groups,gay groups etc the useless bureaucrats have to justify their position so millions of unnecessary and pointless policies are imposed.I'm a welder and the bs you have to go through is so extream many just give up and do something else.As for immigrants it effects them too so we have doctors driving cabs or nurses working at mcdonalds etc these problems really started to be an issue when Canada got progressive in the mid 90s and never recovered.I heard 50k of born and raised Canadians have been leaving every year for the last 3 years with no end in sight.My countrymen need to wake up and dump left wing thinking and bring back the conservatism from the past that built this country or there won't be a Canada.

I can understand why people want to leave or not come to Canada, weather, cold weather can last up to six months and the summer isn’t always that great. Another reason, taxes…. Canadians are taxed to death here, you are taxed on everything here and if you make good money and aren’t paying enough taxes, you could pay a good chunk come tax time. Job market sucks, there are lots of jobs but these jobs don’t pay the greatest. Cost of living has skyrocketed over the years and in my personal opinion, since Justin Trudeau has been PM, everything has doubled in cost, so many people are struggling, many young couples can’t afford a house, rent has been on the rise over the years and so many people rely on the food banks, the highest it’s ever been in Canadian history, crime has gone up and drug use has also gone up and oddly enough, ever since Trudeau has been in charge and I’m sure some will disagree with this but Canada was never like this before Trudeau.

I’m a Christian with a very different background from this Muslim family, but we are planning to leave Canada for very similar reasons. This country has gone in the wrong direction and people of good faith are disturbed.

I live in NYC, and have been to Canada at least four times, but the last time I was there was quite some time ago. I always had a good thought about Canada, because it seems like some of the problems we have in this city, Canada also has in some way. Right now the city is a complete mess; at post pandemic and with a bit of a recession and a noticeable increase in groceries to basic things like cat food and tissues. That's not the biggest problem, it really is the legislation or lack of for people who not care for themselves. Those homeless people are almost not helpable and I don't feel threatened by them, but other people definitely do. The way the government has handled these undocumented migrants is a complete disaster and couldn't have come at a worse time. We have a serious housing crisis as well, and people can end up paying for high rent, for not the best places, but they want to live in a certain location. The migrants are coming in at about 60k in the last two weeks. You see mothers with little kids or babies selling candy all over the trains and it's becoming too much. Many see it as a form of child abuse or exploitation and we do not respect it at all. I think they feel we are weak and will just pay double for something we don't need. At one station today I must have be approached 3 times and interrupted 2 times while using my phone. It's just too much and we already have a lot of immigrants here, so I'm not sure where these people believe they will find any meaningful employment and the cold is coming. I wasn't born here, but came legally as an infant. I think the border situation is a disaster and it's obvious to a lot of people that the government lets things happen that will definitely effect citizens in the next couple of decades. The city is crowded enough and I do not know where this is all going, people do not want undocumented migrants house a few hundred feet from a childrens school. I just don't understand how they let this happen....I guess this is how Biden does things and all the groups that cheered buses pulling in when it first started are dwindling down....they just want them passed on to someone elses responsibility, but wouldn't want them as neighborhors necessarily. It's a lot of hypocrisy here. Canada seems better in some places, and the same in others.

Its main objective is to keep people in debt and working to pay off mortgage debt. A fall in housing prices would undo a lot of the leveraged bets that depend on housing prices staying high -- as happened in 2008 in the US. Main losers of that are banks.\n\nYou can then understand why Canada keeps pushing for more and more immigrants. All pyramid schemes (in this case a debt pyramid scheme) has to expand their base or collapse. It also serves the purpose of wage suppression of the working class so they remain in debt.\n\n\nI don't understand why you came from a prosperous country like Singapore to a lower standard of living in Canada. Subhanallah. I feel lucky to have been born in Indonesia. Even though there are so many people who live as Islam ID, not practicing Islam as a Muslim should do things like pray and so on. But we have an Islamic environment here, with many mosques (except in Bali, where the majority of the people are Hindus).\nIt's cheap to live here, but not with the education. Even international Islamic boarding schools are so expensive here. If you can get a good job in Jakarta with a good company, you better stay here. \nI'm not sure it's cheap or not, but you can pay min 250 to 430 dollar per month for nanny or helper to clean the house. \nAnd for the weather, we only have two. Summer and rain. Sometimes it rains in the summer. And sometimes it's very hot during the rainy season. Hahahaha. I would say the way we live in Canada is very similar to Abyssinia (now called Ethiopia) rather than mecca during when Quraish ruled over mecca. The reason why the prophet Muhammad pbuh did hijra to Yathrib (now called Medina) is because the Prophet pbuh was looking for alliance and the people of Yathrib offered their utmost allegiance with no compromise on islamic practices (other offered but wanted some compromise). However the condition for such alliance was for the Prophet Muhammad pbuh to live with them in Yathrib instead of staying in mecca. After that it became mandatory for all muslim to migrate to Yathrib at that time. \n\nI’m no scholar so please verify what I had wrote with an Imam. Just thought I share so it can used with right example. \n\nBtw im thinking of leaving canada too, namely because I cannot own a house in Canada without Riba ?.
