Its funny when they bring up pot and say that it benefits whites when in reality its not. Come to the rez were I live near and you will see so many pot shops but when a white person wants to open one up in the city its a big deal. And the government won't allow them to open up a shop. Its unbelievable how people are so blind to see that the true racism in Canada is not between white or black but between French and English. You get paid more if you know French, its mandatory to learn French in a city that maybe has ten french canadians, look at how much more Quebec gets represented, if Quebec does not like something then it never happens, Quebec can ban people from wearing religious icons that are not catholic yet the government allows this. You may not like it but its true its all about the big cities and Quebec here in Canada.

The U.K. let you in this great country, then you get people trying to take over and bring their laws in.

For the shopping experience, they have the guys go in carrying hand bags. That's going to get their attention since shoplifters could easily put things into the bags and most people don't bring computer bags, hand bags etc when they shop.\n\nI've had instances where people were awful to me for no apparent reason (I'm white), and it struck me that if i was black, I would attribute the terrible treatment to racism since I couldn't think of any other reason for the bad treatment. \n\nAnother form of racism not covered here is the racism of low expectations. If people assume that you are too dumb to understand something or too poor to afford something, that's wrong. Same holds true for treating women as if they won't understand. Usually this behavior is done, not by bad people, but by people who just haven't had a lot of interactions with different people of different races. So they haven't had the chance to have those stereotypes personally disproven.

When people get beyond the boundary of a person's color you will face the reality of what this is all about in the first place. Isn't it funny when we look at things like professional sports. The music industry a host of other platforms you see the black community excelling. Now you do not see a huge rebellion taking place from any other nation that is not represented in those areas. So what is really up with these other areas you continue to bring up. All those other problems are not being escaped from because of a persons color. If you believe you have a problem in those areas. Then continue to find solutions. Stop trying to single out the fact that you are the only race that has life issues. When you know every Canadian daily has challenges it faces. The thing about it all is simply this fact. What are you going to do about it ? Stop putting up walls that tell others you are always a victim. If that were the case your basketball courts, baseball stadiums, football fields would not be filled. We all know that is not happening. And I certainly do not believe that all blacks live in this sort of arena. In fact I have a lot of friends who are black. All I see everyday is a beautiful person behind that face. The other thing is, that there are millions of Canadians every year out getting tans when the sun hits. That alone should speak volumes.

I've been to eastern Canada. The Rock [Newfoundland] I found to be an interesting place. Lots of history...you've maybe been there? Friendliest people in Canada they say. Bring an appetite!

I applaud Cityline for bringing this topic up in Canada!! In the US, we see overt racism every day. Oftentimes, it’s the micro aggressions happening to the people I love that breaks my heart. Dont judge on race or skin color; judge on culture and religion and how human- and womens-rights are handled by those two institutions in the society and countries the people who seem foreign to you are from. Then find out if these people wants to bring those elements of their culture with them to their new country. Then make your judgement. And do remember to hate all religions equally ;)

Peasants from El Salvador or Mexico need to learn English when entering the Queens realm. I can give you plenty of examples of being racially profiled as a white man, like the time i walked into a Mexican market in L.A. and as i walked in overheard what the cashier charged a Mexican woman for a couple of items, so i grab the same exact items and bring them up to the counter just to be charged 3 times as much.  Go to any swap meet in So. Cal as a white man and see how you are treated amongst the Mexican vendors. And the further south you go the worst it is.  Maybe white people are not supposed to speak up? Or maybe the time a black guy said to the white boy door to door sales man that he was in the wrong neighborhood in Pasadena, Ca.Where do we put the attention? Or is it all about ratings again?

The Muslims of today are not like the once that I knew and lived with in the '60s and '70s in Iraq. The Arab Muslims were the best people. We Christians had no problem with our Muslim neighbors. I thought it was bad that a year later in Canada, he still isn't speaking English whatsoever, but interviewed in his native tongue. This is not how you fight racism. You fight racism not by guilt tripping and causing outrage. There are 240 million refugees waiting to come here. Canada is a big country. Of course we are not building new towns or cities. But we all believe in economic growth. First, Government needs to know how to make money on their own, not depending rich immigrants. Second, encourage citizens to have baby by providing benefits for them, to boost the birth rate. I used to live in Brampton and this is the city where I first landed. No hatred for the city but people have ruined it. I'm a brown guy myself so I can't be racist against my own people and tbh, some of the best people I know in Canada are Sikhs but even they accept the fact that there is a large number of bad apples in their community. Sikhs have played a major part in both positive and negative way, to make and break this city.\n\nInsurance scams in Brampton cost their citizens to pay one of the highest premiums in the country. Generally, drivers in Brampton have no fuckin' idea how to drive because the licences were literally bought. \n\nA large number of people of our brown community always hell bent on abusing the system, wherever they go. We bring the same back home mindset here in Canada rather follow the system. \n\nThe only thing mostly brown community is focused on is how to make money and that's all. Don't try to learn the language, don't like to mix with people, don't care about the laws or anything. They only like to have nice big houses, show off their leased fancy cars and that's all.\n\nI left this city for good and don't regret my decision at all when I see numerous videos about the bad situation in Brampton. I'd love to move back to Ontario but cannot live in this city anymore.
