Canada messed up the system for cheap labor and ideology.\nThese fake colleges shouldn't have been permitted in the first place.\nVisa interviews from the fake applicants should have been declined.\nThis has hurt India also, it drains India's foreign currency and earnings, it is flowing out to the owners of the fake colleges when the money could have been in the bank accounts and lent to businesses and individuals or invested in stock, bond, commodity, real estate etc.\nThese people are from almost exclusively from two states in India, Punjab and Haryana.\nTheir sole aim is to emigrate from India.

I lived in Canada for 14 years . Thankfully I have finally moved out . I don’t regret my decision I can see a doctor when I need it and the police do their job . I miss the country from time to time since I spent most of my adult life there but I’m better off where I am now . I have a stable job and can afford a place to live.

We want our country back...modern society has no place for terrorists.

Hi True North, I'm from India not in Canada ?. if they were promised to give PGWP after course completion and they received that and now they are asking for further extension then yes send them back. But if the PGWP was not even granted to them in the first place then it's a scam, the Canadian government has to give what was promised. They contributed to your economy in dollars (which is not easy if someone is coming from India) they deserve to earn in dollars as well. Also, some students took loans as well . However, I understand Canadian citizens' frustration too but it was the Canadian government's mistake when they invited immigrants just for the sake of money.

My friend lived in PEI.she could not find a job or a place to stay her one bedroom went up so high she packed her bag and came over to new Glasgow .and got her first job cleaning garbage of the sides of the road .no jobs here also three months of the summer working to cater to the few tourist.that come to walk around and get back into their motor homes and drive to the poorest of the poor cape breton.another place with no work .no housing.no one coming for a job can't afford a one bedroom.send these people back.before they bring over everyone of their families.

As an Indian these so called students were dumb to leave India where growth is taking place and go to Canada, I think in long run it is good if a few get dissed. The stupid fascination with western country is purely dumb. \n\nSome even have a lower pay in Canada then India, and the leaving conditions and white collared workers becoming blue collared. This is too much all at once ...Canada knew it had a shrinking aging population last century..plenty of time to have a gradual tapered immigration. Having too many come in at the same time is just plain dumb when the country was not ready with all social services and housing . Honestly as a life long Canadian if I can find a better place to live I will move there...never thought I would say that.

If the post Covid housing crisis were under control, Trudeau would have done something by now. Rent here is no more expensive in the US in fact probably more expensive in New York than in a city like Ottawa Toronto or Montreal. Yes Vancouver is an expensive place to live but not all of it. Rising crime rate, stabbings, housing crisis, drug overdoses, confused government. From what you're saying I'll feel just like at home. Half of the places I lived in like Germany, Poland, Scotland and even Switzerland faces the same issues.

If a group of kind-hearted people start a new religion. This new religion set up a rule that all followers of the religion must carry an automatic gun or CP at all times. The reason given in this new religious book is to protect fellow humans from aggressive gunmen. Will govt allow them to board planes or go to schools, universities, hospitals, and public places? will all these automatic weapons be under freedom of religion or law of land? \n\nI am not sure if people agree but religion is based on beliefs and laws on experience. Commonsense tells that beliefs are personal and should be kept in personal space.\n\nThe university should not have apologized but should have expelled the person to carry a weapon in public places.\n\nThink of a gang that classifies them as religious and carries knives or swords in public places. Further, this is not the medieval age where you needed to carry weapons because you believed in a rule written 500 years back based on that time's need.

I'm an international student form Nicaragua, and I'm doing my best to contribute to this country since day 1. And I'm looking to stay in this country not to take advantage of anything, but to contribute and give way more than I have received here. It's just not fair that we are being affected by Indians, the government should apply measures according to each situation from each country of origin. Indians are the abusers of the system, not us that we are the real minority here trying to earn our place here but just our pure honest effort.

Reading most of the comments I agree they should go back where they came from. But look at it from Trudeau’s point of view, if he lets them stay they will likely vote for him in the next election . He will have to give them the right to vote, but isn’t that in the works already too? Besides you simply need a Canadian driver’s licence and place of residence to vote isn’t it? Many could vote by lying about their citizenship. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Who in the right mind would come to Canada to study paying so much money in student tuition and not hope to become a citizen? It’s not their fault that they’ve been scammed out of money and now kicked out of the country because of poor administrative decisions. \n\nDual intent (of studying and wanting to stay) is completely legal and worked for decades. I don’t see any issues here. \n\nInstead of criticizing the actions of the government officials of screwing this up in the first place, it’s a shame to see you demonize the poor international students that have been defrauded in the first place.

They shouldn't be called immigrants they are international students. And they need to leave the county once their study is done. But how about dont let them in in the first place.

Our country is great, but quality has deteriorated during current leadership. \n\nAll these students should go back home and then apply for WP or PR from home country, as the guidelines use to be. There should be limitation/cap on number of applications of students/ PR from particular country.\n\nAustralia has banned international students' from Indian states: Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat and Jammu and Kashmir over alleged submission of fraudulent documents and high rate of dropouts. Most of these students make up the majority that are seen on streets protesting now. \n\nOur policy target is to import 1.5 million immigrants in 2 years. Based on survey 25 % are Indians that 375,000 additional Indian nationals over 2 years. If cap is not placed, Canada will lose it diversity. We do need Quality over Quantity.

Why did our government let so many of them come in in the first place?

I just watched a bus get dropped off at an immigration visa service place by my kids school. Follow the money and see the problem b who’s making money off of people from conflict countries who would do anything for a change of location. I’ll bet that organization making 10k a head so dam right there’s incentive for them to operate. Upsettingly enough they usually aren’t originally from here and therefore even more capital leaving the country under the guise of “helping” is it safe here , for now, but the only jobs available are minimum wage fast food or entry level positions. So only come to Canada if you’re good with paying more for less and then getting taxed significantly.

The real culprit are the diploma mill colleges throwing student visas like candy at Punjabis. As a result you guys import low talent individuals whose soul purpose is to immigrate to Canada. Top shelf Indian talent goes to the US where there is a better vetting and culling process in place.\n\nThat said India has been telling Canada that you guys have been importing some of rhe worst anti social elements from Punjab. Why were effective systems not put into place to sift through correct immigrants? Is it because we have not had enough people in the country to handle such potential situations? Lack of growth population? And an aging population that is now retired and no well developed educated ppl to handle the new change and system? Does that mean we need more people, man power, to handle such issues politically, economically? Where will we get these ppl with a declining population and the fact that we don’t want immigrants?? All the restaurants in my neighborhood are being turned into Indian restaurants. There are 25 of them within 4 blocks of my place. Almost all the rentals in town are only for Indian students. Bit by bit they are replacing what was there. I've gotten to know a few and I think the world of them. But for the love of all that is good. Stop changing everything!!!

I think Newfoundland is the best place to live. I moved her for two years in 92 and I never left. Not perfect but has affordable housing, affordable education and spectacular scenery.
