You forgot to mention high taxes. Between GST, PST, income tax, carbon tax, EI and CPP (which you might never use), that's easily 50% of a person's income if you make above 80k. In a nutshell: A terrible healthcare system (eternal waiting periods and no doctors), No jobs available (only if you want to work low paying security or fast food jobs), the worst climate on the planet, high cost of living, taxes and NO housing! Quebec also has a serious language problem. So leaving Canada makes PERFECT SENSE.

Live in a $3000 rental or buy a house mortgage life for $1 M for 30 years. as an Immigrant, I'm done immigrating for now but I get taxed net net around 45% + HST + Carbon tax + Property taxes, for all these taxes, I get really not much back. I don't qualify for most services, I don't get dental, I don't need many either, but it is putting a lot of pressure on my entrepreneurship aspirations. The healthcare is truly atrocious and still need to fly for medical appointments by good doctors since doctors here are dumber for some reason. If you want to be an entrepreneur who owns a house, Canada is not your place right now. Worst of all is the culture, highly highly introverted in a bad way, cold people, bad social skills, boring conversations and everyone seems to be high on weed. I am glad you have found something to do as a hobby but if you were in the USA you would have 4X the disposable income (and I think we all would still be complaining).

This is sadly true, I came to Canada ??a 1,5 years ago leaving my con try where I had a nice job, good pay both me and my wife and were able to travel twice a year. Here in Canada more than 50% of my salary is eaten by rent, my wife is struggling to find a job and it’s impossible for us to save, worst than that sometimes we use our savings to close the months. Now everybody who is asking me for advice on how to come or preparing to come after getting their PR, I tell them stay where you’re at least you have a good situation in your home, you’re familiar with your country problems so there is no benefits coming here and living a shitty life.

worst problem with housing is greedy landlords jacking up the rents due to covid and having no one to regulate it...people are trying to charge $1000/mth to park your van in their driveway and $1500/mth for a small bedroom with no windows...it's ridiculous that the government doesn't regulate rent. I am glad that you mentioned politics. In my 70 years of living in Canada, we have had some previous bad governments but i will say that this government is the worst of the worst. When thankfully this government is gone, there still will be some hard times because this present government has dug us into such a deep hole that it will take time to dig us out.

As a Canadian who has lived in almost all the provinces and territories, all my life, I can tell you that a lot has changed as I think the best time or era was in the 1970's and you may have come at the worst time as the worst appears to be now when everything has become too expensive. The other problem relates to Canada, its size, the distances to travel, the smaller tax base with a smaller population than that of United States or India. This is not intended to provide excuses but most people here do not even have a family doctor as many doctors find greener pastures in the United States where the dollar is 30 percent higher in value and salaries are not limited to government health care. It is hard to change when American influence dictates much of what transpires. Homelessness hasn't been a problem but the last five years has provided more hardship for many who find it hard to cope with how things have become.
