Oh this is how every Indian official gov workers behaves, at least 90% of them. While we don't know the full version here, I'll share mine.\nI've waited for hour outside the entrance door along with others where we don't have waiting chairs so had to sit on steps where people pass by even though we all came at the right time that was written on our papers. Then I had to wait about 3 more hours for my appointment chance and then they checked my docs and decided that I don't have two particular doc which isn't even that important these days, but he didn't say that at once, we got first doc and then he said I need another doc. so I had to wait for 3 more hours to get mine as (we had to go to school and get that doc) while all other people like those grandparents, job applicants and farmers got their passports and visas. *sighing*\nI still remember the attitude of that officer, It's like he was just there and I was just waiting his time, and he was just reminding me that his work time was about to be done and that he needs to go. \nI don't understand how the gov offices works, we have tons of population and of course tons of applications that needs to be done for work, yet the gov office working hours just 6-6.5 hours? And they work at sloth speed as well. Software workers have it way hard *taking deep breaths*\nNo use in ranting about how it works in our country

You gals are on point with most of the things. However, there are few things that were not discussed here that might be of help to those planning to immigrate. Things that they should know before they pack their bags in the hopes that they will have the best of both worlds once they land in Canada. Most immigration agents give false hopes as they get paid for doing so. So, research, research, research before you put all your money in one basket. While some people return to their home country because they eventually have come to realization that Canada will not give them the life they hoped for, others some how manage to settle down. Then there is another group that stay behind because they have no place to go because they made the big mistake of putting all they had in one basket and took risk of spending it in Canada. Also, if you are a professional, you are better off working in U.S than Canada. Job opportunities in U.S for professionals are far better than in Canada. Finding a job in Canada is based on whom you know rather than what your skill sets and qualifications are. Foreign qualifications including U.S degrees are not well accepted in Canada. U.S employers hire based on skill sets and whom you know is not much of a factor that will impact your job search. Unlike Canada, U.S accepts foreign qualified workers in most professional jobs and do not require that you to study in U.S for most professional fields. While pay is 40% more in U.S for the same job in Canada, home prices in U.S are 40% less expensive than in Canada. Food for thought.

This is actually really well done. As a person from Saskatchewan, I didn’t expect to be as high on the list as we were. But I like it. To go with our temperature swings and high crime rate (I blame that on us being one of the most racist provinces), we also get tons of beautiful skies, a peaceful life with friendly people, and nature to check out ranging from sand dunes and badlands to northern pine forests.

A lot of these reasons apply to Canadian born people as well. Outside of doctors, basically every top Canadian born student I know has moved to the USA for jobs - myself included. There are large economic issues here and you can imagine if it is that bad for Canadian born people, it is going to be even harder for immigrants. \n\nIt's unfortunate and I wish the system would improve. But also nobody is forced to immigrate to Canada. Constructive discussions is great but some people just want to spit on the way for the sake of spitting

My people have been here for tens of thousands of years, we fought bravely for 300 years to try and keep our land, in the end no one one, but many treaties were signed , the Europeans getting land and the aboriginal people getting money.....a transaction no different than purchasing an item with money...except the amount owing was never paid as it was a lot of money, instead the amount owing was to be paid over a period of time...but this crooked government did not want to pay for the land..rather act like it was one by some kind of decisive war so white privileged people would feel as if they were giving handouts to Aboriginal people. I would be honest with you most of people who leave Canada can have a good life in their home countries (mainly people who say this are from Europe or advanced country in Asia ), well if in your home country you can't make a life at all then what's the point of going back and what I'm taling about here is mainly African countries where everything is expensive and scarce, us living in third country we can even make enough money for a cost of flight alone in a one year of work, wages here can come to be 50$ USD a month that's if your lucky (and not even to say that you will spend most of them on food and health care)

I was born here and lived in Canada all my life. I have travelled to many places as well. I love the country of my birth, but our government has corrupted things beyond an easy repair. These ladies are correct. We are no longer the “brand” as advertised. The government propaganda has people convinced we are the same country, while they steal what is left from our pockets and over-work those who still care for its’ people. It is not just immigrants who should consider other places to live. Go where you are treated the fairest - I have trouble finding real evidence that is here.

Perhaps what I can add is that I was born in Canada, have lived here for 50 years, and I've experienced the same problems as immigrants: difficult to meet people and form social ties, hard to find work because I don't have the 'right' education or qualifications not recognized, expensive and hard to establish a 'normal' life here. Imagine growing up with this, not having experienced something different elsewhere, and having no country to go back to. Canada is becoming a two-tier society, one made up of well-established families, and the other made up of Canadians who struggle and immigrants who also struggle.

I leave this country in a hurry because of the illegal and blackmailing vaccination mandatory. Such a thing does not go at all, that one nails people as HOSTAGE! Alberta is the best. Lived in Ontario for 5 years. Last year I moved to Alberta. Since that everything is going well. More savings, quality of life, more family time and less traffic.

You were doing so well until you got to Quebec. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Quebec and I can barely speak enough French to get a hotel room and a meal, but in major cities like Montreal and Quebec City plenty of people in the service industry speak better English than most of us do. The one problem is.....TAXES. Unless you are looking for socialist utopia where daycare is cheap you are likely to find them kinda oppressive. I grew up in Northner Ontario, worked in BC, Quebec, NB, Ontario and Alberta and have visited the rest of the provinces and NWT. Yukon and Nunavut still to go on my bucket list..... Personally, I love the people of Newfoundland the best, the scenery of BC the best and the taxes of Alberta the most. I could be happy living anywhere here now that I am retired but I have settled in New Brunswick for the cost of living. Plane tickets are cheap if I feel the need for a change of scenery.

Canada is what you make of it. You can arrive rich and end up poor and you can arrive poor and end up rich. In between that, you can have a great life that balances your needs. I’ve seen immigrants succeed simply because they see the opportunity in front of them . They worked hard in their own counties to stay just above the poverty line ,but when they apply that same effort here it pays off ten times greater. I feel that compared to a lot of immigrants, natural born Canadians come across as spoiled and a little lazy…we are. We haven’t had to struggle the same way someone from a poorer country might have. I’ve talked to people who’ve worked ten to twelve hours a day just to stay afloat. If you did that here you could make plenty of money to live and have some left over. As far as owning a house goes,yes it’s expensive . I feel that homeownership in any country is relatively expensive. Here is a tip; use that soaring home prices to your advantage. Houses are expensive but you can make a lot of money buying and selling. I recommend putting together a buyers group and share the house for a few years, then sell at a profit, buy a bigger house or two smaller houses.try to buy the worst house in the best neighbourhood and fix it up slowly . That house could double in value in five or six years in the Toronto market. This is nothing new of course ,the people from India and China seem to do this a lot here ,it drives up prices and profits. On the downside to this ,you are now part of the problem. As the housing prices are driven up the non wealthy can no longer afford to own a house . They are at the mercy of high rents with no rewards of ownership. They are caught in a cycle of hard work and (relative)poverty. This could also be you if you can’t keep up the house payments and are forced to rent.\nHow well you speak English is important but your native language is also useful here because Canada is half immigrants . As a Canadian that speaks only english (Irish descent)I have to say to all newcomers that I’m very impressed that you have learned a new language and that you may even speak more than two! Don’t be embarrassed about your abilities . I find that in my experience , Canadians do not look down on people just because they don’t know English. In fact ,I’ve known people that have lived here for decades and still know very little English. They are comfortable in their communities and they function just fine. Learn as much English as suits your needs and be proud of any gains you make.\nOutside of Toronto are other cities that you might consider when looking at southern Ontario.From my experience,most are generally the same, just not as big . There are large immigrant communities in London Ontario, Hamilton and just outside of Toronto where housing is just a little bit less expensive but the commute to work is probably longer. This is just my opinion but in the small towns there are less people of colour , (which is what people of no colour call everyone else . I wonder if I’m called a person of no colour in some other culture ? LoL ). That might make it harder for you to feel integrated ,if that’s what you want. I’m not saying that people from other cultures can’t make it in a small town , I’m just saying that it’s definitely not Toronto . Here, people of any nationality can feel like they have a place where they can belong . It seems that no matter where you are from ,there is a community already here that’s set up restaurants and stores and clothing shops and newcomer support systems. And if your from Portugal or China or India or Africa or the Middle East, there are large groups of your kin here that have established roots for generations and you probably know this already.\nToronto means meeting place and that becomes evident quickly. I was born here and it’s one of the things I love the most about my city. I’m not going to say that there isn’t systemic racism here ,the people of no colour still kind of keep the top position , but as we become a minority in a decade or so ,I hope that will shift to a broader spectrum. It’s certainly happening already. One good thing is that the police department tries to hire people of colour so that racialism may play a smaller role. We’re getting used to seeing our politicians more and more reflect their constituents.\nI have to talk about the weather. Because I’m from here I’m used to the extremes of minus thirty and plus thirty . Eventually you get used to it (somewhat). Dressing in the right clothes is important. Summer is easy , but winter is different. It’s trying to kill you. Spend the most that you can afford on winter cloths . If you can afford a quality parka you should get one. The hood can be drawn around the face and stay out of the wind.\nIf not ,think of layers with a outer layer that blocks the wind. We have things called long Johns that are basically full length thick cotton or nylon pants that go on under your pants and a pair of extra thick socks. Buy your boots to fit your thick socks. Try to get the best boots you can afford ,it’s something that you might spend a little extra for but never regret.\nAll in all we are a fairly organized and peaceful society. Most people are friendly and will give you a chance . We have a good social safety net here and you don’t have to be homeless or starving if you don’t want to. There are people and organizations set up to help ,that truly try to get people back on their feet. It’s a good investment that pays off in ways that matter for the quality of life in a big city. I’m not putting my American neighbours down when I say they do things differently. They have their ways ,we have ours. This is just something that we do because we’re trying to learn how to help those that society has discarded or can’t find their place. Sure we have one or two areas where the homeless have pitched tents and we have some resources for them if they want. Unfortunately The mayor recently forced a small camp to move from a very visible place to more scattered locations. There were social workers involved as well as protesters trying to protect them. I didn’t like that happening and I want to see even more resources dedicated to them ,but on the other hand ,we are trying to avoid something like what happens on the streets when it’s just ignored. When I see YouTube videos of the streets of Philadelphia I’m extremely saddened. I thank the lucky stars that I was born in Toronto Canada.\nFor all it’s pollution and expense and crowds ,I think it’s a great place to do almost anything your heart desires . For every ugly building there is a beautiful park ,for every honked horn there is a birds call , for every cold and dark day there is beautiful sunny one around the corner.

Lived my whole life practically in Ottawa ..not going to lie I hated it! I left 5 months ago to paterson jersey, than from there to Florida..and now I'm residing back home in Dominican. In October I will be headed back to Ottawa ..in all honestly I would much rather live in Naples Florida ! Govt of Canada is a joke ! One must get all the information ( which is available in public domain ) before landing the proposed country. I know some guys, who landed Canada after their Graduation and for their Master's degree. They r ok now. They are all Academically qualified from their native country and higher education from Canada. All of them are working now and leading a good life there. All the professionals who've very good academic background, should undergo some type of higher education there in Canada. Other wise doctors / engineers may end up their life as taxi drivers / gardener... etc. Get thorough knowledge about the country where one has to go., study there and get well placed and live happily ever after. - From own experience -

I know Canada is not perfect and I find you’re a bit hard on the red maple leaf... just because you don’t find the same things as your native country. It’s like\nfrench people coming from France, going to Quebec province an complaining about the food, the weather etc... well we’re not France, sorry to say! But I can\ntry to understand your situation; it’s probably inevitable that the comparison between your country and Canada would show up eventually. I see regularly \nimmigrants moving here and it’s true that it’s not easy. (Some people will have to be cab drivers because they can’t find work in their field). But you have\nopportunities if you work hard. I have the example of a Russian truck driver who move here with his family (wife, two kids). The man started by working for\na general transport company, then was able to buy his own truck. Now he’s able to work with whoever he wants. So I think every experience is different.\nOne other thing I noticed is that for families coming here it will always be easier for kids (even teens) to adapt quicker then their parents. I live in the east\n(the maritimes) and there is not very large cities. Some immigrants that come here will stay for a while but then they would move to a larger city (like\nToronto) because that city must have the most ethnic diversity in Canada. For cultural differences true that Canadians are like Americans in the «none»\nfashion trending. It’s a different mentality then Europe because over there fashion is a statement; you are judge on your appearance. Here, not as much.\nIt shows you don’t like winter and if you don’t your not a real Canadian! :-) Don’t generalize, a lot of people here like winter. And for taxes I don’t have a clear\nexplanation other then we have a huge empty country that needs roads, infrastructures, etc. and someone has to pay for it! (fun fact, all the population\nof Canada could fit in a country like Poland... it shows how empty it is here). Finally, and I heard this many times, maybe the people or the part of the\ngovernment to blame is Immigration Canada. Maybe they give to much of an idealistic image of Canada! Nice summary of the main challenges. Reading some of these comments leads me to believe that if one is motivated solely by money, Canada is not a great choice for you as an immigrant. The number of commenters hoping to move to the US from Canada due to greater opportunities to make money while ignoring the real and substantial disadvantages of living south of the borders just emphasizes this. My family are immigrants from the US and we didn’t face the same challenges as immigrants from countries further afield but I do understand the differences between the two countries very well and can state unequivocally that moving to Canada was the best decision our family made. Lower crime, better health care (yes even with the wait times), a fairer system and a “boring” but sane political system more than compensate for the few extra dollars I would make south of the border. In terms of where better prospects going forward for children and grandchildren, with the looming threat of climate change, Canada wins hands down. Extra income means little if you have to spend all of it on personal security and health care deductibles. So if you are only motivated by top line items like gross annual salary, Canada might not be for you and you would be better off looking elsewhere and leaving that immigration spot open to someone who can appreciate the more balanced offering that a new life and future in Canada can offer.

CANADA is like everything in life for example when you go to buy groceries at the supermarket or Walmart you can find several brands of bread, pasta, salsa etc some are better than other. Some people like the cheapest other the expensive ones others do not care. In summary there is not a perfect country AND NOTHING IS FREE. Live is full of trade offs. My advise make sure you live where you feel well, if you do not feel comfortable just move out.

Once upon a time, a lot of people in Europe dreamed of going to the United States and living there. Today it's very hard to find someone like that. The United States has fallen very low and is now like a junction of hell and a landfill. America made one mistake: it chose the invisible hand of the market. Europe for the free market with the addition of state intervention. As a result, people in the USA are very neurotic and are constantly afraid of their tomorrow and their credits, and in socialist Europe people live safer and are simply happier. They don't have so much pressure for success. Success in Europe does not lie in great wealth, but in a comfortable and peaceful life. Canada is a bit more like Europe, so the people of Canada are maybe happier. But it is still a long way from the European Union, where governments care for the well-being of ordinary people, and not just corporations.

People cannot expect as though they are Coming to heaven.\nAs any other country it has its Pros and Cons.\nBut if you are a person who cannot settle in your own country, Canada opens its arms for you. canada is great country to immigrate if you come from money. and your family can comfortably bankroll your stay there. but if you are going too canada thinking you'll make money, well lets just say you will be brutalised by life there. the best time to move to canada is whn doing an undergraduate degree since you get to start from the bottom in matters of work experience and build the social networks along the years. it is sad to hear cab drivers in canada most who are immigrants were doctors, some even surgeons back in their home country

I never ever wanted to moved to America. Had to moved because of family and entered the country at an age of 12. Didn’t do anything but still got the US citizenship cause only my earthly parents had to passed the thingy.. I guess whatever God gives.. you just get it. Whatever God does not give. You can never ever get what He does not want to give you ? Well, as a Christian, I just go where God loves me to go and live the way God likes me to live ?

People must ask themselves a question that why western countries offer citizenship to Muslims knowing very well that their religious, cultural and social values are poles apart? GORA is very wise. He is looking at your 2nd and 3rd generations. He knows that they would be just like them in next 30 to 40 years. It is happening already in countries like UK and it will happen in Canada too. I do not mean to be negative here but anyone of you who is well settled outside Canada, don't come to Canada!, unless you want to do labor work. I know people who have done Masters in Software engineering are working in a Pizza shops. If there is one job opening there are 10 thousand applicants for the same job. Companies showing fake jobs to satisfy govt. pressures. Automated refusals replies of your job applications are common.\n People get hired on sources and within companies. I moved to Niagara region and they charged me $200 deposit for water $200 deposit for hydro plus monthly bills separate. $1800 to $2000 is the rent of one bed apartment. Burlington where he lives has $2800 to $3000 rent monthly for a house. Go check online! Price of buying a home is in millions of dollars. Go check real estate.

Well, I doesn't take a genius to figure out, that, countries who have it well off due to many reasons, will continue to have immigrants pooring in, it won't stop, why? Well, you are lucky you can go to the US to drown out all of your problems, in Iraq the healthcare is bad, the education system is bad (especially in public school where kids get hit.) and the people are not nice. From overwhelming amounts of bad experience: Generational abuse, damages, corruption, delusion, speaking and acting with certainty, even indisputable while other possibilities exist - creating more and more conflict and damages and time being wasted, is life in Canada. The Canadians who have taken power and control over and upon others and childrens lives, have sabotaged so many lives, have corrupted reasonableness, logic, and needed care. Many Canadian children have been and are still being tortured, trafficked, profited on, and poisoned. Victims are now disabled, expected to heal themselves often while still feeling tortured, and are largely left to continue to suffer while the majority basically looks the other way, works to party, play, go on vacations and such, and basically refuses to understand what went wrong, where it went wrong, and where it's going wrong, in childhood. Too many people die on waiting lists in Canada as there is not enough resources to go around, y'all have waited 4-8 H(normal is 2-4) just to be seen before don't fib to web now. \n\nAnd since we lack competition for newer/better medical procedure, 80-90% of our medical knowledge comes from the states or ww2 Germany.\n\nWhile on say the USA side, due to the competition they are constantly making advancements (which in the long run makes overall treatment cheaper and closer affordable). While with Canada you have fixed prices, which actually encourages stagnantion in development as anything that streamlines the hospital making it more efficient hurst the hospitals next year of available funding.. while being hurt in the USA can really set the individual back.\nIn Canada you get an overall lower quality of care as the talented doctors end up moving to the states where they can get paid what they are worth not stuck on a fixed income. And after all that rare illnesses in canada as stated don't have any coverage meaning that any one hit with hit rare illness finds out the hard way they can either pay for life saving medication or well pass on.. as most Canadian are taxed to high to have any substantial savings available for such an emergency as they fall into the trap that the government has me covered. \n\nSo each system has its positives and negatives and as far as I'm concerned it's not talked about enough honestly up hear.\n\nIf you have been to the dentist in canada thats basically the usa system, though the prices are fixed in some areas so some services won't be available.. as they don't update the payment schedule often enough so certain procedures pay well, other well can actually cost the dentist out of pocket. \nTherefore in some areas you can't get certain procedures done at all the dentist will refuse.
