I was allowed to grow up with and almost among them. At school, the children of Western European guest workers, including Turkey. \nWell Canada was always the brother of the States in my eyes. The dream country when the States don't work. Since Trudeau and Covid, unfortunately, a lot has gone off the rails. Oh yes, Germany is not the answer, if that's what anyone thinks. I also wanted to go to Canada for a long time, but that's no longer the case. Happy and yet sad at the same time at the moment. I will leave my home country. too. My wife and I are retired living in San Francisco... It looks a lot like Toronto. We have traveled a bit to over 40 countries, but we find ourselves going back more often to Malaysia. Each visit we stay longer and longer. Malaysia is affordable, has great food, and everyone speaks English. \nLove the US, but there are crazy people running it. ?

The ability to claim asylum should exist but it has to be objectively justifiable. Not just another way to stay in Canada.

Friendships and relationships can be crucial factors in retaining talent.\n\nBut with this current pay structure, I’m really not sure what to say. If you put high educated people in a bad position, plenty of contries offering them higher life conditions. It is same for Germans, Germany creating very good engineers, doctors, etc and they are leaving the country.\n\nMaybe instead of creating making migration easier. It is aslo good idea to retain yours.

My money left Canada years ago. I stay for the free stuff.

For the past several years, Canada has only been a stopping off point or a temporary layover before you embarked on your next journey so you're not really losing anything. You're a citizen of the world, really. You're just basically looking for a home base of sorts that makes economic sense as you continue you're nomadic lifestyle. Dont be sad, you're not really losing anything at all because you can always come back and stay a while whenever you so desire. I think you just want a place where you're safe and the numbers make sense and that's OK. You go girl!!❤

I live in Canada over 30 years, and I never accepted this country as my home, Canada wasn't my choice. I wanted stay in Europe in Germany, country that was stolen from Germans, I am from Europe and there is my home we wore sent far away to another continent from our own, far from families and tradition, culture, religion, Europeans people wore replaced with different ethnic group of people from different continents with different values, religions, cultures and traditions. They have nothing in common with Europe, they even do not look like European people, Canada is a country without face, without culture, without religion, and what is the worse without any value of morality, to the people living in Canada dollar is their value, dollar is their God, beside Canada was always overrated, Canada is empty of beautiful things like monuments, statues, sculptures, beautiful buildings, bridges, parks, cathedrals, churches only emptiness a sad feeling of having no emotion or purpose only work and work days and nights, take mortgage, take loan, pay back and take another loan so you must be all your life in debt, there is nothing for you soul, and finally if you surrounded with ugliness you became animals, Canada is a perfect place for those kind of people that they do not care for beautiful things, and they keep dying like an animals.

Stay and fight for your country you chicken littles. Think of our ancestors who built this country. They didn't make the sacrifices they did just for us to run away when things get tough. Fight against this horseshit and stop voting socialist, you won't be any better off anywhere else.

This might be a dumb question but why do they create strict visa policies by having criteria of high bank statements, etc just to ensure that they don't end up staying illegally or use social benefits, while at the same time, take the people who didn't even come here legally?

I am also born and bred in Canada, I left in 2000 to the US. Had to come back in 2004 due to a layoff. Left in 2008 back to the US again then to Asia. I stayed in Asia until late 2021 and came back again because of the kids. However these 3 years I have seen this country go downhill fast and I really find it a hellhole and is much worse than in the 1990s when I was growing up. The cost of living, job situation, immigrant overrun, woke mentality is just horrendous. I am trying to leave again because I am just disappointed in this country and also exploring how to leave permanently.

I am also leaving Canada this year. I was born here and have spent almost 4 decades living in Canada, but for now, I cannot stay. Will be moving to South East Asia in a few months. No immediate intention on returning any time soon. The spell that has taken over the country's politicians, elites and even many regular citizens has destroyed my home and I don't see it changing.

I visited Canada for the first time last year on a 10 day vacation. I only really saw Toronto but was impressed by how clean and safe it felt. Clearly I stayed in the more touristy and probably affluent areas so guess I had a distorted view

Canada is not home, it's standard Hotel where travellers check in and out next day or week, some stayed a year or two and have their kids born in hotel, some stayed decade with two or three generations lived in hotel. The hotel manager always busy for new comers to sign in.

The reason I am considering leaving is very simple. When I came in 2001, the wages were competitive, and the cost of living was low. Now the wages didn't move, but the cost of living sky-rocketed, and the cost of buying a home also sky-rocketed, to the point where I will likely never be able to afford it. I may move back to Denmark, or to Italy, but I will not stay in Germany in the long run, the governments (several of them, through time) have forgotten about the people, and are catering to the rich and to large companies.

I left Canada when I was 28 years old and only return to meet relatives. I learned very early on the Canadian dollar doesn't go far in Canada... It is really difficult to save any money, there is simply no chance for any active worker to save anything, the money doesn't stay long in your pocket!

I am staying to buy all the cheap real estate when the population collapses.

Beautiful scenery with mountains in the background, and that unique wooden chapel. I thought you could start a general store there, with teas and coffee bar of your own! IDK, just had a thought about this place when I saw your video about that place a couple of years back. My biggest concern for your safety is that you find a place that is free of war! I am sorry to hear this. I am in the same boat. I moved here around 37 years ago and found this country much better compared to my old country, especially when the army killed students. I decided to stay in Calgary, Canada. What makes me sad is seeing Canada going down the drain. While seeing everything getting worse, my old country becomes a prosperous, advanced and powerful country. My classmates back there were mostly high-level leaders, and some of them became elites. As the best student in the class, I could not get position even close to theirs. Only good thing is that I have been making a lot of money due to my strong technical knowledge and the capability to do difficult work. I hope I can at least maintain the same living standard when i am old, but it looks less and less certain. If I realized this at your age, I would have moved back.

Hello Alina, I have been to Toronto in 2007, and I can honestly say, I did not like it. I have my cousin in Vancouver, and after staying there for so long. Has decided to come back to Perth. If I was a young guy, Thailand would be my choice to live. I have just come back from Koh Samui, After spending 8 nights on that beautiful Island. I have met a lot of people from all walks of life. There are lots of people setling in Thailand today. Americans, English, Swedish, people from Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Norway and so on. I had the pleasure of seeing Lilly, her husband Wat, and her gorgeous 3 kids, her nanny, and her son. The food is so cheap, everybody smiles. Not like here in Perth. The weather was exceptionally beautiful. It rained mainly at night, and once during the day. Alina, whatever you decide to do. Do it wisely. I wish you all the best. Your main aim is to be happy. Good that most immigrants integrate well and prefer to stay, and the free education and health care helps in a big way than countries without that. Sure there's room for improvement.

I just do not understand why they do not choose a country closer to the ones they are fleeing!? Saudi, UAE, Kuwait and why not stay in Turkey? Why travel so far to the West, to an entirely different culture? What is the reason? Does anyone know?
