Canada is a country where white people don't have a problem with sex education in schools but they feel uncomfortable if you have a friendly conversation with them at work.

We're an IMMIGRANT COUNTRY! These are purposefully racist and divisive talking points amongst politicians and rich people which are meant to divide working-class people with genuine and rightful grievances. Instead of focusing that rightful anger on who is really responsible for inflation, the housing crisis, and all the issues listed in this very-well made video, which are corrupt politicians, bankers, CEO's of major corporations and BILLIONAIRES AND MILLONAIRES! Rich people and politicians try to divide and confuse the public by playing into people's worst impulses such as being racist. I don't blame the protestors or people in this video who habour all this anger, I really don't. Their grievances are genuine and their anger is completely justified. However, it is misguided. When you think about it, WE ARE AN IMMIGRANT settler-colonial country. Unless you are an Indigenous person, YOU AND YOUR FAMILY COME FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE! So it is not logical for us to be anti-immigrant, when, again unless you are Indigenous, WE'RE ALL IMMIGRANTS! The public and working-class should focus their anger on who is really causing all these issues. Rich people and corrupt politicians.

When I came to Canada as student 10 years ago I \n- never planned to work part time when I was in school. I only made the move when I had enough money to live and thrive without off campus jump\n- I am SHOCKED when people say they aren’t prepared. Where is google buddy. \n- I was planned enough to not take up any low skilled jobs. Today I earn in 6 digits. \n- As immigrants we need to also accept Canadian values and not bring our crazy practices from back home. Grow up buddies.

They're welfare shopping and Vice is ignoring the root cause; illegal immigration. They just want a better life, and I understand that, but they keep backing corrupt governments and religion. And they are refugees from their own countries because those countries can't manage themselves. The West, mostly considered an enemy to these countries, is not responsible for the welfare of people who are gaming the system with no intention and / or ability to assimilate into Western society. Instead, they actively work to change them from within to suit their religions and agendas. Not to mention the spike in crime from too much immigration. I applaud Western countries for protecting their cultures and their borders.

And yet, they are having to beg people to stop pooping on the beaches or at the gas station. It just isnt working.

Canada has a massive immigration problem right now. There is a student visa loop hole thats just been fixed where people would get a student visa at some 3rd party “institution” then bring their entire family along with them on open work permits.

Properties owners stop working and start relying on the rental incomes and as we know the post covid19 economic situations of the whole world is so bad so with those rental incomes Canadians properties owners couldn't make their living anymore the way they where living comfortably before covid19 so they start blackmailing their government and blaming new immigrants. sometimes people rent out their properties and living in the shelters near to their properties. Only solution of their problems is either sale their expensive properties or start working hard not only rely on the rental incomes no matter what you are engineers lawyers doctors realtors etc. .....work work and work hard friends.

So import loads of people, theh work and live like slaves. Who benefit? large corporations and elite universities, \nSo suffers?\nEverybody \nThe Canadian dream is a lie!!!

Everywhere else in the world this is called invasion and they would shoot you at the border Democrats have caused war everywhere invasion of US soil and btw im a immigrant I came over here in a plane which btw we saved up for a year and a half to get tickets for and luckily we won the lottery fir a ten year work visa the fact that it was a miracle for my family to get here work hard and become citizens legally and these people can just rush in, democrats are the biggest threat to democracy

Of course immigration rates are way too high. The people arguing that this is framed wrong are wrong. We need a complete moratorium on on immigration and to look at what works and what doesn’t. Also some groups are incompatible with the West and put our society at risk. They bring nothing of value

The Tao Te Ching says that bigger nations need to accept from smaller nations. Idk how that works out for India to be sending people to Canada though. It seems like the failure is mostly on India.

The reality in here is, the the mayority of british people do work and most of this people anti british people do have benefits and have the time to do this in a weekday. the sun said britain united but and i do not see any union jack flag wales flag england flag scotish flag in there iris flag. where this people from really? It's bizzare how people think of housing as a right like water. Have they ever done the work of building a house? Could they? It's quite the ask of other people to call it your right.

My understanding is that people are being played upon again, in-fact the real threat is de-dollorization, about which nobody talks much. As noticed recently through the news, manufacturing is returning back to West from China which obviously will demand skilled labour. Dollar loosing it's value (due to de-dollarization) and once immigrants starts leaving Canada, this will add on to the trouble exponentially, leaving Canada unattractive....When I say, skilled labour, then I mean the real working guys, not the cozy European immigrants. These are my understandings...Lets see how it goes, I am eager to see.

Maybe childlessness is the main issue, but all superpower countries have population of 100M+. The government needs to distribute people and work with private sector to develop job market in places like Atlantic and Prairies. Maybe offer an incentive to companies that allows WFH, or zero tax for remote regions residents. Maybe all new citizens should spend some time in military.

I got laid off 5 weeks ago ( no renewal of contract).. after 7 years working for that NFP.. I applied for snap and unemployment… while applying for jobs( social worker field)… first, they ask for so many documents… including my bank account….( again I was laid off .. not fired nor left my job, nor finding reasons not to work all those years ), department of labor had a mandated zoom meeting to discuss what I needed to do 4 weeks after I was laid off( like i don’t know)… I ve been working for years and paying taxes… a lot of them in NYC, I was also told that I have to show what I am doing to search for work and eventually should take a job( even if the salary is low..ridiculous)… I was also informed that I may get a call from investigator from DOL..they may call individuals receiving unemployment benefits($441 a week after taxes?)… to verified that I was searching and applying for jobs( even though I enter my activities related to work weekly on their website…..)….. meanwhile… people with 0 legal documentation are entering the US and living here, free snap, free housing, free health insurance!!!! Lala land!!!! Can’t wait for this non sense to stop!!! Every corner of NY , you see families begging for money. Food…I feel bad as a human being, but refuse to help or I ll be joining them too… welfare system needs to change too! The politics NEED to change!!!All the best !

People don’t always need to move to Toronto. It’s a big country- go where the work is and where housing is cheaper- prairies or east coast or Quebec. You don’t need to settle in Toronto.

Thanks to immigrants Canada has survived this long. Immigrants bring in much needed dollars and skills that locals don’t have. Further, immigrants are the hard working people unlike the ‘locals’ who rather than work two jobs to make ends meet, sit back and complain how bad things are. \nIf you haven’t guessed, I’m an immigrant too and have been in Canada for the past 24 years. I have contributed to the coffers and have not taken any money out from it for the past 24 years!

I think the real reason are:\n\n1. Refugees from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria and Asylum seekers from Africa.\n2. Foreign investment in housing was allowed until 2022 which played a major part in prices going up.\n3. 1+ Million International students allowed in 3 years.\n4. Average Canadian doesn't want to work a minimum wage job, especially now working with foreign people.\n\nBlaming one government, country or race wont help. That is just jealousy towards most common looking immigrant, which are South Asians.

Dems is insane. They just want to give out free money from hard working people and collect money from not working. Business cannot find the helpers. They punish the hard working people and veterans to collect free votes from illegal immigrants.

What are all these immigrants expected to work at? Where are the new steel mills and coal mines and auto plants employing hundreds of thousands of people? Oh wait there arent any. There isnt a new industrial revolution around the corner, if anything AI could mean there might be less jobs then ever. It is a shitshow on so many levels

We don't need more immigration to fill the gaps. What we need to do is get rid of the welfare and social assistance program and force those people to go back to work. Therefore filling the gaps.

I thought of moving to Canada too, but it felt really impractical. Canada is expensive, even to locals. This is what you get when you prioritize corporations over people, making the rich richer, and poor poorer. High rise condominiums bought by tax-evaders, and money launderers from all over the world, instead of livable communities. Happens almost everywhere in the world. I think everyone needs to live simpler, live in the province, or work from home, the cities are really getting unlivable nowadays, full of greedy corporations constantly fed by their cousins in the ranks.

A Sri Lankan who always gets misidentified as Indian reading the comments here. ? I moved here with the genuine purpose of studying for my LLM, after considering several countries. I was offered a scholarship from my university (a top ranking public university) I know several of my Indian colleagues who came to study & now work in universities & firms. I know educated people who came here from SL, India & other South Asian countries who came to study with the genuine purpose of studying & now pursuing PhDs here & elsewhere. I understand how concerned the whole immigration issue is for Canadians & new commers like us. I’ve always loved to study in Canada & now that I’m here just to see all these negative sides is truly heartbreaking. I was able to secure a decent apartment & decent job (both me & my husband)& so are my friends & colleagues. I love Canada & means no harm. I’d love to use my knowledge & serve developing countries like mine one day. I kindly request anyone reading my comment, please don’t judge. first i am an immigrant for 20 years. i see the problem has been rising. \nthe problem is not just immigrant, its the overseas students also. Gov try to solve the issue but they are doing it blindly. the problem are those small schools that focus on making school as a business and let people get working visa. \nwe need doctors and nurses so badly. why cant we take more doctors and nursing, have universities specifically train then. we can also have golden visa and wealthy immigrants to come in . we dont just need cheap labour, we also need money. \n\ni cant wait for next election to vote this gov out!

Canada is so broken now. I came here in 2010, it was amazing back then. Now, every single day I regret not moving out of Canada earlier and not changing my career on time. There is no living standard now and its about surviving now. Everything I am earning is just going towards bills and tickets. The cops are everywhere giving fines for smallest of mistakes to make sure refugees and asylum seekers get paid almost $2000 every month. Also, if you are making above $90K household wise, you are done, you cannot get so many benefits from the government. Basically, now working in Canada means paying for lifestyle of lazy people.

It's a false statement saying there's not enough housing, considering the fact that there is more unoccupied housing in Toronto then unhoused people living in the street. Why? Why did we keep quiet for the past 2 decades when our government was not increasing incomes, didn't focus on housing supply especially cheaper apartments, but banks and politicians together put 4 times more burden on us when it comes to monthly mortgages or rents and groceries, now suddenly we call immigrants as the problem for everything. Are you serious?\n\nWhen I see people like him, I think they are crazy, for real.\n\nYou need to focus on getting your PR status and talk with an immigration lawyer or do your own research. Move to a different province if necessary.\n\nI am Ukrainian myself. I landed in Canada in 2021 and worked on a farm for almost minimum wage for two years. However, I got almost free housing and obtained my PR. \n\nThen I got a better job. There are plenty of jobs in Alberta where employers provide accommodation almost for free or completely free. The job may not be the best, but you can save money quickly. That's what I did. I worked another year for a sewer company, completed my trucking school, and now I have my Class 1. \n\nSome companies even pay for your trucking school, but you have to sign a contract for 1 or 2 years. They might not pay much, but hey, you'll get your Class 1. \n\nYou need to read more forums and talk with more people. Don’t just sit and wait for a miracle.

My husband has been already worked 40 years when he got sick and may able to work the government refused to help him because they said me and my kids are working. So a t lazy people just to coming don’t care and help with everything it’s so disgusting.

Finally a report that calls it the way it is. Canada is broken, all the services our tax dollars support are redirected to the new Canadians. There are no services available to me, after paying taxes for more then 40 years. Housing, rentals are outrageously priced, what once cost $800 a month a few years ago, is now $1,500 for the exact same unit. \n\nThe Canadians that built this country with their tax contributions are being shut out of all the services and we can't afford to live in our own country. Even immigrants don't want to live here anymore. Canada is broken!\n\nthere are a lot of reports that show immigrants using foodbanks like a grocery store. Food banks are not grocery stores, they are there to help people who are not able to buy food. Foreign students are expected to be able to support themselves while in Canada as foreign students. They lie about having the money to get in, then when they get here they complain, take our housing, our jobs (Ukrainians can work in Canada as soon as their plane lands, after receiving $3,000 in cash from the government of Canada).\n\nCanadians are treated as second class citizens, priority is given to new Canadians. There are absolutely no services available to me, no doctor, no affordable housing, double the price for food, no medical, nothing....

My grandparents on my mom's side came over from Scotland after WW2. They bought one of the cheap plots that were available then, but then my grandfather BUILT their house. He was a tradesman (dual carpentry/electrician certified). Lots of that house is still original, with occasionally new paint, and looks new.\n\nFast forward 75 years and we're importing Business Majors and IT specialists to cities that need construction workers and trades people. The houses being built start falling apart before you finalize the paper work. If you DO have the skills and desire to build something yourself, there's a lengthy approval process ahead of you just to get started.\n\nHope you didn't come here with a medical degree, or a specialized certification. That's another long process to be approved to work here. Doesn't matter if you came from rural China or you worked in the US at a major hospital. \n\nLawyers, lobbyists, politicians, and landlords have destroyed the Canadian dream, and we're all sick and tired of it. I have a lot of sympathy for immigrants sold a lie, who come here and end up homeless or worse, but we can't stop what's happening abroad. We can only change what we do here.

Place people in places and jobs where we need the workers and the housing isnt over occupied outside of the overcummbered gta and where labourers are needed. But if you tell people they need to go work a gas line out west or mine up north in the cold instead off over populating the major metropolitan places would they still come? Is there not still lots of affordable rural canadian residences all over the country but you may not have the creature comforts of the biggers metro areas.
