It is a shame that the legal system in Canada allows such abuse. We want to change it. Make the law fair, do not alow abuse - theft.

I have a similar background as I immigrated to Canada when I was 6 years old. I haven't travelled across 50 countries like Alina but I'm well travelled and Canada is still, in my opinion, the best country in the world. Besides the strong passport and political stability Alina mentioned, Canadians also benefit from the great healthcare system, environmental protections, capital markets, educational system, labour standards, etc. This country has afforded me a wonderful career that allowed me to build wealth while giving me substantial financial flexibility and freedoms. Canada is not perfect but I'm so grateful to my parents for moving us here.

While I can understand about his retirement plan, I do have ask if one can build an entire condemenium complex, wouldn't you have already had more than enough money to retire, or is that he just owns one of the condos, and he is just renting it to some one else? (Which would mean the building would allow for subletting)

Government needs to reform the law allowing for rapid evictions after 2 months of nonpayment, with 1 month curing period. It's ridiculous that bad tenants can game the system like this.

But also the Landlords have taken an advantage in rising the rent time after time while these property they have bought them long time ago and already have no morgage paid. I can understand the pain the gentleman is going through my family own a life housing and land in Uganda very few tenants have paid and the government is not letting us evict them but love us to continue to pay our taxes while allowing encroachers to steal our land and some of them are military personalities. To stop the inflow of immigrants to canada the canada govt should adopt the policy of skilled workers contractual only in which a skilled worker is hired for 1yr or 2yrs contract with free airfare n paid one month vacation free lodging and their families are not allowed to be with them that is what middle east countries are doing that is they are allowed to be recontracted same as in saudi arabia they have developed without the problem of immigration

Are you considering moving to Russia. Or China? That would be great for you. I think a major problem for Canada is that it allows dual citizenship. Many countries do not allow this and we have many who hold Canadian citizenship but don't pay their fair share of income taxes (because they work in another country) and only show up once every six months to acess health care services.

Well, I am leaving, yes. Although I am very grateful with Germany, I work in IT, and I don't hold a diploma, but I have more than 20 years of experience in the field, I always been offered jobs beneath my experience, only because of a paper. I am Italian and was very enthusiastic when I arrive 4 years ago, but the way I was treated was mostly bad, that led me not wanting to study the language anymore, people were so agressive in the streets. When I needed the back of the justice, it was never on my favour, even when I was right, as I was hit in the street by a stranger who made my face bleed, police said that it was nothing and that it was the opposite, even when they had evidence. I was mistreated at a hospital in Schwabing, München and medical attention was refused, police didn't help and they requested my to litereally scream for help, and I did because I was bleeding on a place I didn't know, with -4 degrees, without any jacket. I even tried with the discrimination line, which doesn't work, and if you write them an Email, they will say they cannot help. I Will never understand that level of cruelty, not to mention 5000 Euros I had to pay for a ticket, because I suppousedly scratch the car of a person and because my Kaution was never returned, tried, but never got a lawyer, because you need to pay for the air you breathe in this country. ARD, what is that? You pay for the right of internet, and you pay internet as well, the desorganization with the states is massive, and often times, you will get a letter in your box post having to pay somehting else. My energy and money was completely drained. I just had it. Despite of everything, this country tought me great things, like discpline and hard work which I really appreciate and will take this knowledge...somewhere else. I also became better human being as a result of being exposed to all of the bad things. We just left Canada 2 weeks ago. Now we’re in the US. Canada has gotten worse for the last few years or decades according to some. When we applied for Canada, all the prosperity was promising. It was like second or third option behind the US and UK. And now, after 7 years, we have decided to really act and do what’s best for our family and the future of our kids. The main reasons why we left Canada, it’s the high and doubled taxes, the very slow healthcare, you get to start to zero despite your decades of managerial experience, they don’t honor your diploma cuz they have their own standard even if your education or work is US standard, the housing and rentals are skyrocketing. Imagine if the rentals are increasing every year by $50-150 is insane. It’s just so inhumane. Back in my birth country in the Philippines, if you’re poor or low income family..the government don’t tax you. You get a high percentage of healthcare assistance and you also get some free social services including monthly allowance from the national government and another separate assistance from the local government. Canada is beautiful if you have money with all the good and kind people around, but the expenses, it’s gonna kill your pocket.

This is what happens when there is zero accountability when you don't pay your rent. They aren't held financially responsible and they get off scot free, God forbid you owe the government money though. They will destroy your credit and throw you in jail. As long as its happening to us peasants its ok. Just shut up, take your shots, don't say anything that can offend anybody, and you'll be allowed to go to work everyday to give them 40% of your pay.

They expect for someone to come to work to speak German on C1 level, I mean for a reasonable job and on the other end they're allowing all the immigrants in that don't know German at all. They want cheap labor, period. As well even if you're from some other EU country they look at you differently so I don't know how would they look at someone from outside of EU. Would avoid Germany, only as a last resort.

Finding apartment is very difficult and apartment rents are very high, language barrier is always there, not allowing work from home in home country for couple of days when we visit home country
