The title is a little misleading. I do not believe GDP and per per capita as being a true measure of per capita income as to be relative to all countries. In the UK you pay for a meal deal in the UK it can cost you £5.00 yest in India you can enjoy a full meal in India for a family. You have shops that sell Hugo Boss, but you can find shops or stalls that sell you clothes for less than a Pound. So relatiivity and perspective should be seen when looking at these International terminologies.

I was going to my place of work and close behind me was a young Indian lady. So, as any Canadian would have done, I held the door because I didn’t want it to slam in her face as she enters. She walked right through the door without even an acknowledgment, not even a “thank you.” It was one of the rudest things a person has ever done to me in years. \n\nNow, when I see an Indian person close by if I am entering any doors, I am conflicted. What’s the point of being kind/courteous if they can’t pay it forward?

Well there is no perfect country. One thing which Canada has and India do not is Respect for working people. People working as Labor, Carpentor, Cleaner or Guard has respect but in India even you work as a Professor in private college you will wait many places more than three months for your salary. Second here people pay taxes and gets benefit too from Government. In India middle class job is pay tax and forget.

And this is why we shouldn’t pay crazy sums of money to foreign universities- it’s a rip off. They can tell you to go back home anytime after pocketing your parent’s life savings. \n\nIt’s easy for them to say go back - what people don’t realize is that if an Indian pays fees in Canadian dollars, they will need at least 15 yrs of earning in Rupees to pay it back. Where it would take only 2-3 yrs in Canada in earn the same amount. \n\nSo basically you ruin your life if you pay fees in CAD and then return to India immediately - you need to stay at least long enough to recover your fees.\n\nAdditionally, Canadian university degrees are not valued in the Indian job market, just the work experience. \nSo best not to pay to study in foreign university if they can’t guarantee 2-3 yrs of work. After that you can always return, it’s actually better.

I am living in Canada right now and I agree with all the points mentioned however,\n1. As a lady I feel safe, no one judge me for my clothes, no one stare me disgustingly and no one consider I am his private property to assault.\n2. I feel safe when my kid goes outside to play. People here follows laws strictly. Vehicle stops even at signal allows them to proceed, always I repeat always driver signals me to proceed.\n3. I feel happy that my husband is valued in his office and much appreciated. His seniors credit him for his hard work and everyone here encourage us to have proper work life balance.\n4 I agree we pay high tax but atleast we are getting benefits in return. Public libraries, transport system are top notches. \n5. Banking, health care, all government facilities are very systematic. We were not even aware we have completed 18 months in Canada and we received letter from government stating very soon my son's child benefit will start. We didn't even enquired about it. They processed it automatically as per our arrival date.\n6. And lastly, we celebrated Independence Day here in Calgary, it was great event and all officers were protecting us. I clearly remember while dancing , huge Indian flag dropped down by a toddler and one Chinese officer,he picked it up and gave it to nearby adult.\n\nLife is valued, humans are respected,laws are followed here so I don't regret my decision of migrating but yes, honestly I do miss India as well and I am proud I am an Indian.

An international students has to pay 5 times more than a Canadian resident. However, no one is forcing those students to come to study in Canada. \nMost international students are here to easily come in to Canada and get residency. Why would a student need to work here?

The cost of living is so high now in canada… grocery, housing etc,\nthat I’m thinking to selling all my belongings and buy an RV vehicle. In winter (mid-November to April) I would go to British Columbia. I wouldn’t have to pay a rent or a mortgage.

Kitchener Waterloo here, I only see Indian people around at 80%. No joke. Go to all retails shop Walmart etc...ONLY Indian. They all struggle to pay rent and live by 4 to 6 per two bedroom to survive, and more young Canadian can't even start their life with a student job anymore.

Most Indian students, speak English, are educated, work, pay taxes and are usually friendly. On the other hand our politicians have no problem importing people to put on welfare that hate us. All. Just for the Muslim votes

Better to leave India. No place for decency and honesty in India. Our country is a pithole. Keep paying taxes like its Sydney but get infrastructure like Somalia.

If you pay taxes and social security deductions, health and education are not free..

my experience in Germany is actually very positive. I had studied in Netherlands before moving here. I find it more welcoming in DE as NL. My colleagues are super nice and helpful. I would not be here today without their support and trust. Also NL is more expensive to live than Germany, at least in my time. After having a master degree, I paid over 600 Euros for 1 year job-seeking visa in NL. In Germany, a multi-year visa costed me 50 bucks. Childcare, as far as I understand, is very expensive for non-Dutch or non-EU family. I often see kids going to kindergarten only 2-3 days/week there. Here in Germany, I found easily a place for my son from age 1. Education is totally free. In NL, my master course costed 16.800 Eu/year for non-EU (luckily I had full scholarship), for Dutch students it was 3000 Eu. I remember my classmates went protest back then because of the high tuition fee. And for the language, yes of course it is difficult. But it takes 1 year of regular learning to become sufficient in daily life. And the result is very rewarding. I, myself, did not pay a penny for that, I learnt simply by borrowing books from city library. So it is possible.

If I pay to a mechanic a 100$ and puts that money on the bank. Bank takes intrest, let s say 5%. Saldo is now 95. Than the mechanic pays plumber 95$. Plumber puts that money on the bank.Bank takes intrest 4-5%. Saldo is now 91$. Plumber pays taxi 91$.Taxist puts that money on the bank. Bank takes intrest 5%.You know the continuation. After 25-30 cycles, that 100$ from the beginning is GONE. And someone than says has lack of money. Whole sociaty lacks it. Now you see why.

What about refugee who do not pay a single penny

I worked for only 10 years in the USA paying a small portion of my earnings in taxes. Then I returned to Canada, working 25 years and paying a much larger portion of my earnings in taxes. I'm now retired in Canada receiving CPP benefits that are less than a third of the Social Security check I'm receiving from the USA. I wish I had stayed in the US and continued working there. I would be so much better off in retirement.

I know so many students who pay employers money to get their visa changed. They need to be looked by local authorities. Sorry we need the jobs for our Canadian people. International you have no right.

Now it is open and clear that education or so called skill enhancement education programs for foreign students is a scam. They just want their money(many times what Canadians pay), and no skills to give them in return. Its broken in a way that they also can't apply to another country. We used to be landlords too but the system is just wayyy too pro tenant. They stop to pay rent and it take 6months for the court and many more steps. ItsBS

It would be better if they were allowed to work 20 hours per week like in the past. So, the local Canadians studying here are not getting the total forty hours job, rents increased abruptly, and wage rates went down because the students are working with minimum wage and getting the total forty hours. So, where would Canadian adults go for a job and housing? It is also not fair for students to work with low pay. Everything takes time to go gradually and ethically. Please, try to understand Trudeau’s points too.

Canada is the second largest country in the world in terms of area alone with a VERY small tax paying population. We only have 18 million taxpayers (remember the other half are children or senior citizens living on their pensions). We NEED immigrants to invest in businesses, to pay taxes, to work and do all the jobs we don’t have enough Canadians for. If we didn’t have immigrants, Canada would fall apart as our birth and death rates are low. We need to build more towns and cities or increase incentives for immigrants to move our dying out towns.

The real Germany (West Germany) is as described in the video. But paying taxes and knowing that someone in the east will get part of your earnings isn't something I'd subscribe to. Coz those in the East aren't Germans, but rather a mix of USSR and 3rd Reich citizens.

Good for Indian students, there is nothing that Canada has to offer to Indian students after paying min 50k to their fake universities. They are trap leading towards low level jobs for Canadian employers where none of the Canadians want to work. Let the Canadian work on these jobs. Save these money and invest in India, you would definitely get better returns than Canada.

Nobody need immigrants only cheap labor. This globalization creates high costs of living that cannot pay any workplace. That's only reason why all countries asking for immigrants. 12 years in Canada worked hard but this is far away from good life. Properties are so high that if you don't want to be gang member you can not achieve that.

There was never a labor shortage, it was a wage shortage. Instead of allowing the market to adjust for wages, Stephen Harper came up with the TFW program to keep wages low. The liberals made it even worse. Tim Hortons never struggled to staff the restaurants, they just weren't willing to pay the wages that citizens required in order to survive in their markets. End this ridiculous TFW program and let the market correct itself. If a company can't afford to pay Canadians Canadian wages, they don't belong in Canada doing business.

Or maybe don't allow businesses to pay people unfair wages regardless of immigration status? Why reduce immigration?

At the end of the day the main issue is the Government used Indian students to supplement the economy at the expense of the Canadian citizens. Now in 2024 the Trudeau liberals still refuse to pause it because of the economic impact it will have on their corporate friends and the schools. They also subsidize immigrant students which incentivises businesses to only hire Indian students. Canadians can't find affordable housing or a minimum wage job and Indians are paying the price. I feel bad saying it because I'm not a racist but I don't want anymore Indians, or any immigrants at all, here unless they fill a vital need in the economy. We simply no longer have the housing or jobs and it's as simple as that. Enough is enough.

To undo the damage, we'll need to be deporting massive numbers of TFWs and the government will need to pay back the millions of Canadians for the economic damage inflicted by HCOL over the past 3-5 years.

Employers are misrepresenting wages on documents for LMIA-based jobs, showing higher wages but paying lower amounts in reality. How can the government address this issue? Forget the language barrier. Even if you speak German their bureacracy is worse. It discriminates and even if you are legally correct they will purposelly give you wrong information on what you are eligible for. The labour office gave the wrong advice to a friend recently and asked her to quit her Job as the doctor had asked her not to return to work after a long sickness. Even though she was eligible for job benefits as she paid labour insurance they refused to pay her on sick grounds and asked her to quit her Job and come back. She did it only to be told later that she would get only part of the benefits as their doctor without examining or seeing her or even checking the background declared her unfit for a full time Job. They went to court and the court declared that the Labour office was correct. The lower court sent it to the upper court and the upper court said it was not responsible and the district court was responsible and asked us to withdraw the case. The courts are hand in glove with the bureaucracy and even if the bureaucracy makes mistakes they will always support it.

this outcome is what you voted for. Vote for ideology and pay in reality. The funny thing is liberal not free. They always raise taxes.

The issue of economic hardship is inflation not immigration. Immigrates brought skill and resource and pay tax when living in Canada. As a FRENCH individual, I would\nSay this!!! WHY would you or even plan to come to a country that rejects you??? Why waste your money to come here???? Why immigrate here??? Lately, I have my older brother move back to France and my 2 daughters NOT willing to stay in Canada (they hate the Canadian education system here)! My wife wants to fly back to France and so am I and we will as soon as we can!!!! As for me … I HATE the Canadian healthcare system (rigid and INEFFICIENT) with all its stupid waiting times and lack of humanity and transparency!!! In France NO ONE has to wait 6 years (I heard this many times from friends) for an operation or 15 weeks to see pediatrician!!! I do not like the taxes, nor the hidden racism that is WAY WORSE than AMERICA (I have a coloured friend who knows well and who snobbed racist Canadians by speaking French to them. This friend of mine is in fact… a French citizen himself). I hate the Canadian transportation system, the banking system which is designed to STEAL from people!!! In Europe, there is NI Credit score and NO easy loans and you do not get indebted as in this rubbish country of GREEDY THIEVES (the Canadian bid corps) called Canada!!!
