“International students” who are not really here for studying, there should be a law that requires them to show their transcripts and attendance sheets in order to actually prove they’re here for education… not just to work full time, bring family over, not follow any of the municipal, provincial, federal laws, etc.

They often say they're open minded and welcoming, but it's a surface level thing. Surprise surprise I even felt as an outcast/outsider w my husband's family (if it's about language barrier, they have way better English than my family, but my family managed to make my husband felt welcome and involved), received racism from my own in laws and my husband since I'm from 3rd world country.

Not sure why you're protesting Canada's a sovereign country and we can have to take care of our own people. Canada is in the middle of a housing crisis bringing foreign students. Where are you going to house them? What does this mean? Does this mean evict Canadian citizens for foreign students? I don't think so. Foreign students better think again about these protests because right now many Canadians don't want them here and that's not being mean. I must admit as a non-Canadian that I was ignorant about Canada’s economy before I saw this video. I thought Canadians were well off mainly due to its natural resources. They live in a large country so they’re not overcrowded. It’s safe, democratic country with low corruption & less inequality. The Canadians I’ve met are extremely talented & intelligent. How wrong I was about the economy. It has similar problems to other western countries but is cushioned by and reliant on its natural resources. As long as those resources stay owned by its own people.

As an-ex permanent resident who left Canada more than 10 years ago (before becoming a citizen), and always regretted it, seeing these type of videos (and comments) make me a little bit less remorseful. I went back a couple of times as a tourist for short period of times in Quebec and I did not notice a real degradation. Of course the covid period left some marks.\nBut the situation in my home country, France, to is going downhill much faster than Canada. But at least I know that re-emigrating to Canada might not be a good idea after all. Anyway it is becoming way too complicated due to my age.

I would consider watching the whole video if you turned the music off. I can't take it seriously when you've got mood music continually going in the background. Plus, my attention is divided between trying to hear what you're saying and the music going on. What are you trying to offer? Music for people to enjoy or a commentary of information you would like to share? I'm puzzled by the constant negativity and sense of entitlement I've encountered. As an immigrant from the EU, I've lived in Germany for six years and have only experienced racism once, at a club entrance. Ironically, I faced more racism in my own country during elementary school. In contrast, I've never encountered any discrimination in my job, studies, or social interactions here. Germans from various backgrounds, including dorms, sports teams, and university, have welcomed me to their gatherings. I'm a person of color and speak imperfect German, yet I've been treated with kindness and respect.\n\nGermany has offered me free education and incredible opportunities in industry and research. While I'm not wealthy, my quality of life is significantly better than it was in my home country, with plenty of room for improvement. I'm grateful for these opportunities and willing to contribute to the community. My advice is simple: be thankful for what you have, try your best, and if you're not a good fit, consider moving elsewhere and express your gratitude. It's that straightforward.

It's obvious the Liberals knew these immigration numbers would damage Canadian's standard of living, they just didn't care. Vancouver seems so cheap to me coming from Bangkok. I’m relocating to Vancouver from Bangkok. But my situation is different. I live an extremely high living standard in Bangkok which costs a fortune. Vs that’s just the baseline in Vancouver. People don’t realize how good they have it in Canada. In Bangkok, even if you’re wealthy you have to import your food to avoid Chinese counterfeit and microplastics and spend like $2 grand a month on electricity for medical grade air filters to deal with the pollution issue. My rent in Bangkok is $15k / month. Vs I can the equivalent in Vancouver for $5-$6k/ month. So seems really cheap to me. Food is a lot cheaper than buying organic in Bangkok too.
