When I saw that this was posted by the Guardian my first thought was the article would be a narrative slanted heavily to the left. I'm glad to see that there was some accurate reporting, but also not surprised to see the usual left wing disingenuousness. For example it gives the impression that the Take Back Canada Reddit group was taken down because it was somehow racist, violent, etc., rather than the more likely explanation that Reddit, like most other big tech platforms no longer allows discussions that go against the political narrative. \n\nLet's not forget that The Guardian and those of their ilk are largely responsible for the mess Canada is in. They sold the Marxist narrative. They promote wokeism, and the idea that to have a contrary opinion on immigration is racist. Now they're trying to pretend they care. It's all BS.

It is fairly simple. If you want to compete with the US and Australia for skilled immigrants, switch to the default language of the world. Else, compete with dying economies like France and Japan.\nStop treating top talents like asylum seekers.

I love immigration, but I don’t like the prices

My fellow non-Germans….Don’t make the mistake of coming to Germany right now. The country will sooner or later have a crisis due to its politics and their companies falling behind in competitiveness due to incompetence and arrogance. Instead of blaming themselves, they will blame immigrants, including you. Also, if you are a qualified foreigner, you will have to come to terms with being a second class resident, watching how natives enjoy their life and expect you to do their work. Only “luxury jobs” with a strong union like IG Metall will ensure you a fair treatment. But most of these jobs are occupied by 55+ yo people that are waiting for retirement without innovating or contributing absolutely nothing to their company. \nThe woman in the video is happy because she married a local (for love of course). With her low salary as a nurse she would be absolutely miserable and lonely. The Indian guy has a family, and well, he comes from India.

Yes there are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed. However, its immature to blame every problem onto immigration. Most of us dont know enough about how things really works. Its not like if we stop immigration then all these problems would be fixed, in fact i think we need this population growth due to low birth rates and lack of labor etc. In my personal experience i see in real life where immigrants are working and contributing in all kinds of fields, such as construction, health care and elderly care … instead of pointing fingers, first educated ourselves on this topic, and then think about how we can make this work, i think that would be more beneficial for everyone.

Immigrants said they don’t care for learning German language and yet immigrants are invited. Note that Germany citizens. Tomorrow don’t complain that immigrants are not learning German. Cut all salaries to politicians to normal salaries like every middle class person. Rise taxes to all rich people too. First of all. And pause immigration until all existing issues are fixed.

How is it not about population growth? Especially bringing in 1 million immigrants per year? Of course Canadian government Was not building a country or creating infrastructure or logistics for these type of numbers back in the 80s or 90s let alone the 70s!\n\nThey would have never thought that this many immigrants would be able to enter our country in a single year, bringing in immigrants is supposed to help our economy like bringing in doctors yet our medical system is so far behind and it takes five years on a waiting list to get a family doctor!\n\nLet’s not even talk about the educational system where we are servicing foreign students and not taking care of our own citizens, not only education is too expensive but to live above poverty, while going to school has kept our citizens from education!

The right wing mentality will kill Modern Germany like back in the days. Made in Germany is dying slowly. Time for the educated Germans and immigrants to save Germany.

All the concerns and problems addressed in the video are very legit and true. The root of them is that german government just simply don't care how immigrants feel and they don't appreciate how diversity could benefit the country. There's a template-like-german-way is expected everyone should be alike in that way. Somehow they still don't see the issues and super proud of their approach.

Skilled immigrants leaving and peaceful immigrants outnumbering locals. Sounds like Germany is going to find another moustache man to solve this.

if any country allows large number of indians to live in their country than that country will fall for sure. The best way was to bring educated immigrants in average numbers like 20k from china 20k from india 2k from france, 20k from turkey like that then there will be stable and multicultural. how can countries like canada australia usa gives 100k visa to one single country nations like china and india? it will only ruin the country.

I am immigrant Canadian and so thankful for having this opportunity,BUT this does not look like Canada anymore,there are PLACES they look like third world. Diversity and all that nonsense does not serve Canada \nWe should NOT establish each our own country within Canada

The outlook is not bad. The problem is that the solution will NOT come from the hands of politicians, not even those who today use discontent to win votes. I bet ten years' salary that people like Poilievre will only do, as conservative governments do, cutting budgets immigrants´ aids , BUT HE WILL NOT GIVE UP CONTINUING TO ALLOW AND PROMOTE the indiscriminate arrival of these immigrants. I don't find ample attempts by the German government to fill the shortage! India itself has the capacity to fill up the void. But, Germany does not allow freshers or people with 2-3 years experience. Then how is it going to work? I am a Data Scientist, I have passport, I want to learn German language to go there but I do not have that much experience. I do not see the German government bring any opportunity for proactive people like me to go & work there & integrate with the society. Rather, they welcome illegal immigrants !

Isn't it already super restrictive and not easy to get into the country for the immigrants? Only highly educated, young people with rich parents are welcomed lol. They bring people from other countries, because there's not enough people to pay the taxes. The more taxes people pay the better educational and health system become, and overall societal infrastructure. Homeless people here most likely local drug addicts from poor areas of the city, immigrants are usually hard working and dedicated people. I find it hard to believe that these migrants are having an easier time getting into Canada than the US. I've been to Canada 6 times as an American tourist and except for my recent trip up there to see the eclipse, the officers always asked at least 4 questions about my trip and plans like where I'm staying and one time how much money I had. One time when I went they did that 'secondary inspection' where they look through my luggage and enquire about items (in my case several electronics which most people travel with). These people who are going to Canada probably have enough money for a typical weeklong trip and probably have hotel reservations, etc. Other things immigration officers ask often is what kind of work you do and when you are due to report back to work, as well as who you live with. They want to be sure you have ties back home.

On one hand, the declining brith rate means we need immigration if we don't want the economy to crumble. On the other hand, there really isn't any available houses right now and bringing more people sounds like a bad idea at the moment.

What i don't understand is how leaders of a country are unable to predict this outcome.\nAnyone whit some level of consequential thinking can see this from a mile away.\nKind of obvious that you can't let more people in than you can provide housing and job opportunity to.\nDoes not take a genius to figure that out.\nOr better yet, try and stop the water flow from your shower without turning the knobs and watch what happens to the water.\nIt goes all over the place uncontrollably.\nThat visual is pretty much exactly how the economic and welfare status looks like for a country who let too much immigration slip through in too short amount of time.

What they fail to say is that they do not have enough points to gain PR. Literally hundreds of thousands of people immigrate to Canada yearly (as per the program requirements) and that’s because they have enough points to get invited for PR. \n\nGet your points up, be competitive like everybody else.

Ask the Swedes how they like immigration like this.

You forgot to add that LEGAL immigrants are upset at this blatant disregard for their own interests as new citizens to this country. We expect the immigrants to be vetted like we were. We also desire a safe proporous country and not have it degraded by political games being played.

This is like this in every country, we people don't want this global immigration agenda. We need to defend ourselves and try to keep our countries safe since politicians won't do anything.

What kind of immigrants? Not from Europe for sure. We need ton of paperwork,various sorts of test's, eligibility test,English language diploma from university,money. I feel like I am living in India with all the immigrants that have suddenly moved here... here in Guelph Ontario, they built a massive Indian temple a few years ago and now the place is being flooded with people from India, (every house that is put up for sale, is bought immediately by an Indian family... that means the husband, his wife, their children, the brother in law, his wife, their mother and their father. They are all cramped into a 3 bedroom house and 3 cars parked in a 1 car driveway... that for some strange reason, they immediately remove the black asphalt driveway and replace it with white concrete??)

Typical media hack headline…..the majority of people are not against immigration, it is against the uncontrolled illegal migration of people into the country. There is a difference and the media seems eager to ignore that difference. Nobody seems to want to take control of our borders. Countries like Canada , the UK and even the U.S. will eventually be destroyed if nothing changes.

Like many other developed countries that have had uncontrolled immigration we had ended up with large numbers of immigrants ( maybe illegal) that will not accept Canada's culture or laws. It's not even that it's just Immigration, but it's only immigrants from 2 countries. Canada needs a cap on immigrants from each country. All these immigrants but I have never met a person from Spain? Despite the divisive headline of this video and the comments, it seems like all the people interviewed in the video are roughly on the same page. No one hates all immigrants, they are all just worried about the scale and pace of immigration overwhelming infrastructure.

Canada of early 2000 was a wonderful country. Affordable housing, cost of living was excellent, jobs were available but now this is a crisis. In Canada, immigration (landed, foreign students, temporary foreign workers) is a HUGE business. Dont let those working in the field (who directly benefit from it) gaslight you into thinking otherwise, like the guy who was interviewed at the end of the clip (time: 11 min and later).

Not against immigration but Canada has let in Way too many people way too fast , the system can't handle it and not enough housing / jobs .... Canada is starting to look like a 3rd world country now sadly

Like in every other country, the more immigrants you have, the more trouble they will create.

You can't build an economy through population growth when the government decides to bring in 3% of the population per year in low skill, temporary students and workers to help inefficient businesses suppress wages for low skill work.\nYou can't build housing when the fees and taxes on each new build are equivalent to 30 years of property taxes. \nYou can't build housing when zoning only makes highrises with 400-500 sqft units financially viable, which are then bought by wealthy homeowners to rent out for profit. \n\nThese policies are designed to benefit wealthy incumbents (mostly boomers and seniors) and are targeted to transfer labour and income from younger people and new entrants (immigrants) to the wealthiest people at the top. \n\nThe people who benefit represent a large voting bloc and most politicians are from this class of people who are making out like bandits. \n\nThis is why nothing is changing.
