Gosh the hate and xenophobia against Indians in the comments is appalling. I agree the level of immigration is bad and government is letting it run out of hand. I also agree that many of these Indian students aren’t fit for a Canadian life and integration and a lot many folks from India are gaming the system but the Canadian government is not doing anything and it’s a big problem. But it’s sad that Canadians are hating on all Indians.

I agree with bringing people for skilled trades that can't easily be filled. I agree with a select number of refugees who are truly in a life or death situation (not the ones who make up stories to work her for a year before their hearing while getting tax payer assistance).\n\nI don't agree with mass immigration. I don't agree with illegal immigration. I don't agree with people who immigrate here for a paycheck and have no desire to adapt to the culture and become a true Canadian. I don't agree with people who come to get tax paid assistance and have no desire to work or help the economy in any way. I don't agree with bringing workers for entry level jobs that are meant for our kids and seniors.

Based on all of this, it sounds like you are arguing that capitalism has failed in Canada. Corporations have built huge monopolies and are gouging Canadians, and investors are buying up every home/condo they can, instead of letting average people buy them up. It also sounds like you're arguing that the government hasn't done enough to stop it. \n\nCanada certainly has its share of issues, but I don't agree with the tone of this, which is mostly Conservative Party talking points. If they were running things, they'd have let mergers go on and signed bad trade deals with countries, just like they did between 2006 and 2015. The Liberals have made a lot of mistakes, but they also weathered the largest financial and health crisis in the last hundred years. I'm not sure what the fix is, but arguing that the Conservatives would have done any better is specious.

As a former international student, the answer is simple. Being here is a privilege not a right. When we signed our documents for entry into this Country we agreed to follow it's laws. The fine print was very clear.

I agree, the high prices of daily spendings on food and groceries is due to lack of competition.\n\nI realised this even in Europe ,particularly France. There is absolutely no logic behind those high prices of daily items in France when people can easily move to warmer climates, live in world class modern cities like Singapore or some city in China or those in South East Asia and spend much, much less on those without compromising on real quality.\n\nWhat i mean by real quality is maintenance of quality which ensures proper sampling and testing of those items are conducted regularly and proper rules are followed in production and business and consumers are protected from health hazards and sabotage. I think most of the rest are just unnecessary decorations in name of maintenance of quality. That is wrong on so many fronts , biggest is on business ethics and it hammers on any kind of Christian value which i know of.\n\nOligarchy or monopoly is a major problem i feel. Compared to france , Germany appears much more on right track from outside though I do not have personal experience.

The real question is Canada vs Florida because the U.S. consists of many mini countries that have agreed on a common constitutional document and basic laws but otherwise are different countries. With that said Canada loses on every metric that matters to Florida. From economics to taxes to business to self defense and personal property Florida wins. The U.S. is secular but politicians of all nations will bring it up to some degree thinking this is somehow unique to the U.S. means you don’t understand the U.S. When it comes to political and religious diversity the U.S. has a larger population consisting of the entire world its by definition diverse. Canada doesn’t have sensible gun laws it just leaves those who can’t defend themselves at great risk.\n\nCrime is high in cities that have laws & culture closer to Canada than they do the U.S. Which have the strictest gun laws in the country. It’s bad politics & culture which are most similar to Canada that has resulted in higher crime rates. \n\nGun laws in the U.S. are for Americans to have the option to fight against a tyrannical government like we have scene in Canada with the truckers and mass freezing of bank accounts. That is what the right to bear arms was for first and foremost not just self defense. Real estate agents are the biggest culprits in the rise of prices. I’ve been there several times as telling me my house is worth hundreds of thousands more or we can say exaggerated by 30% or more then my house is on the market for a year which is nota big deal for an agent they have 40 other listings and access to more moneymakers , I’ve sold my last 2 homes personally within days or weeks which were reasonably priced not overpriced this made everyone happy . I don’t agree that all students came with a fake letter. Changing the rules in the middle of the situation is a true concern. This is a government mistake who puts a lot of people’s lives and finances at risk. Students are victims too, not only Canadians!

As a South Asian, I agree 100% Brampton is not multicultural , it feels like India/Pakistan. Canada is a great country and millions of people from around the world would come here if given a chance. It is up to the Canadian government to control the numbers. As a brown person, I dont want Canada to become India.
