Seeing all the racist comments against Indians makes me feel less sad when I think of how Canada will fare when the Jihadis who hate Canada more than they love life set up their enclaves.

I'm born in the UK to Serbian parents, but grown up in Norway so I've seen three different cultures in my life all at once. I always liked Canada for being diverse because then I wouldn't have to switch between being English, Serbian or Norwegian, I could be more me because I am basically multicultural. For years I've idealised Canada and it wasn't until just two weeks ago that I got to visit and see for myself what Canada is like. I was in Toronto and also in Vancouver visiting a family that moved there from the UK I hadn't seen since I was a kid. I loved the nature (Especially Vancouver my god!) and the people, but I learned about how extremely expensive housing in Canada is to the point that it would be hard to make ends meet just renting a place let alone buying a house. Also how immigration is out of control and those who do come to Canada are disproportionately from one country being India rather than many different, which is not good for maintaining diversity. This is something I saw having lived most of my two weeks in Mississauga just south of the airport.\n\nI hope you guys finally get someone better in the next election, because I have more hopes for Canada than I do for the UK. I am an immigrant to Canada and it is very difficult to live here now. I love Canada, I think it is a beautiful country with so much potential, it's just EXTREMELY costly to eat and exist at the moment.

I'm Canadian; lived abroad for several years (in Europe). I returned here a few years ago and one of the things I love about Canada, which I really noticed was contrasting to Europe, is that we are not afraid to be self-critical (even extremely so), to re-visit the injustices in our past, acknowledge them, and work to try to rectify them. Also, there is a strong sense of community: most Canadians want to help improve their communities and help our fellow citizens. There are indeed some serious problems, as there are in all other countries, and we hope to overcome them and improve our society by working together. For me, one of the beautiful things about a country, what makes its society really interesting and even attractive, is our ability to constantly recognizing our mistakes and faults and try to improve upon them.

Born and raised in Canada. The rising cost of living is just depressing and I’ve basically given up on starting a family because of it here in Vancouver. I know that in order to move out of my parents house, I’d have to get a full time job, eat instant noodles only, and have at least five roommates in order to continue living here. Minimum wage in BC is $16/hr changing to $17/hr but living wage is at least $26/hr last I checked. It’s so sad because I love it here but it seems just seems impossible to be hopeful .

2 things: (1)How are Indians to be blamed for the white people homelessness and alcohol/drug use. (2) Since when did Canada belong to the white man? Never was , never is! So spred love and unity in this Diversity known as Canada. There are always a majority of races in every city, and that should not raise any questions of racism and judgemental remarks. We moved from Ontario to Chilliwack, BC in 2020 and absolutely love here. We bought a home and life here is beautiful like the might Canadian Rockies, with mild climate and snow for just 2/3 days in year, BC is the best place to live in Canada

Came here about 8 years ago from eastern Europe. Love it in Canada! It's not perfect, but again no country is. We enjoy the easy-going people, the feeling of freedom, and access to good jobs (doing much better economically than back in the old country) and the multi-cultural atmosphere . I love living in Canada. Best country in the world in my opinion and I travel a lot so I have a base to make that statement. There is a segment in any society who wakes up every morning angry, negative, and pessimistic, the grievance crowd. I was raised in Guelph ON, and I loved my childhood in Canada. My friends were white, Sikhs, Bosniaks and Vietnamese, I loved how diverse and welcoming Canada was. At 12 my mother had to stay in the hospital, quick admission, everything free, great doctors and free meds after. That is the Canada I remember.\nAt 16 we moved to NY, life was harder at first. I joined the US Navy to get ahead in education and move away from NY. As time went on I made a good life for myself, married and got a nice condo. My mother got married and made a good life for herself too. \nNow 22 years later, every single one of my friends from high school moved to the US 'cause they could, not one person said they wanted to live in Canada. I still consider myself a Canadian with the Canadian values *I* was raised with, but the Canada of my youth is gone it seems. Honestly make me sad.

And all these newcomers require medical care, food, education and housing. This increases economic acitivity for business and social service workers. A growing economy benefits big business and the rich but not the working class. It is the working class that is being sold out. So sad, but so true. I lived in Canada for 12 years and I loved it. I graduated from University and started making good money, but it was never enough. Things are so expensive and you get nothing for what you pay for. It really breaks my heart to see this.

But most of Canada is not comprised of large urban environments, quite the contrary. \n\nI grew up in the Vancouver area. As a young University graduate I was forced to move about 100 kms away to secure career oriented employment. I moved to a small rural town surrounded by farms. I soon learned to adapt my aggressive city driving to a more relaxed pace and found people surprisingly friendly compared to the urban people I was accustomed to in the city. People smiled and said hello as you passed them on a sidewalk, that did not happen in the city. So in summary, for people who enjoy small town living their experience in Canada would likely be more positive and far less expensive. For an urban dweller, I would not recommend remote areas as some services and entertainment options are just not available. But for those who love the outdoors, there are many beautiful choices in Canada.

The analysis is kind of missing one thing. For example crime. Yes even with the increase of crime it is still relatively low. But it is the trend that matters. More and more migrants coming more and .ore businesses going bankrupt, more and more crime. In about 10 years it will become and average poophole and noone in canada feels united. Everyone complaining should ask themselves a few questions. These Indians and by extent all immigrants have significant barriers. I'll refer to only indians here. They have names which are hard to pronounce. Some of them have a look only a mother can love. They cant speak as well as we do. We cannot understand them. Majority of them come here w nothing. Yet...yet...they have become THE Richest diaspora in America and they are not doing too badly here in Canada as well. Now you have to ask yourself why is this the case. They start frombthe bottom and in 20 years or less they end up at the top. I think most rational sane ppl will know the answer, other immigrants will know the answer. The answer is: they work hard at educating themselves and then they work hard at their jobs. Some of you will say they get tax breaks and child tax subsidies etc. But those things are handouts...its not designed for you to become rich from, just to keep from drowning. So its not handouts. They literally work hard all their lives. Do you see any of them at the ball game? Or out partying? Or out having a grand time. The same ones delivering your uber eats in 20 years will be richer than you. Even with all the barriers I mentioned before. I am an Eastern European national whos been here for the past 40 years.

I came to Canada (Québec) in 2018 as an immigrant and i absolutely loved it i'm not sure if i was just lucky but housing wasn't a problem for me you can easily find roommates etc however i think there is a big addiction problem as most homeless that i saw are addicts which is unfortunate.

I understand. I'm going back to Europe after 17 years!! I'm a certified teacher with a brilliant teaching career in Europe and I cannot teach here. Everything is so expensive and I cannot make it anymore. I agree, it's just very sad, it's our life, our dream. I came to Canada with a lot of love and with the willingness to give all my heart, potential, abilities and skills. I cannot make it anymore...my soul and heart are slowly dying. I'm 55, I cannot end my life working two or more jobs and moving every two to four years because landlords keep kicking out of the house old tenants because they raise the rents. Over $3000 a month. Who can afford that? I'm a single mom. Buying a house is impossible as well...\nSo I'm going back to my country. I'm packing my 17 years of life in a few suitcases in one hand, and my son on the other hand. My heart feels heavy and abundant tears are falling off my eyes, but I'm sure that we are going toward a brighter future and surrounded with the love of family and friends.

And I liked almost all. \n\nThis by far is most racist and single sided. \n\nImmigration, housing and drugs are to be controlled by govt. , not by Indians. You are literally saying “Indian people” in every sentence as if all Indians in Brampton are criminals. \n\nIndians are one of the most law abiding, high tax paying and fun loving people of Canada. Unlike most of the comments here, I absolutely love being a Canadian. I have a rare health condition and the government covers 100% of my medicine costs which is thousands of dollars a month. It’s also safe here and there’s so much opportunity. I immigrated when I was 4 years old from Pakistan and even when I go back to visit, Canada is like heaven on earth compared to Pakistan. The medicine I need to live a healthy is isn’t even made or offered in Pakistan. I’ll forever be a proud Canadian. Thank you Canada ❤
