As a Canadian - the immigration tom-foolery that is happening is just as bad up here. Our Prime Minister is a handsome idiot, he was a drama teacher before he became Prime Minister (I know, make that one make sense). He has no idea what he's doing, he's being used as a puppet for more experienced extortionists-erm-politicians. With the help of his party members and a coalition with another party, in less than ten years he has taken Canada from a great place to visit and live to basically what's happening in NY. Crime in our cities has gone up dramatically. Theft is on the rise. Homelessness and drug use is through the roof. Immigration is out of control. And our government also prioritizes immigrants and asylum seekers before born and raised Canadian citizens. As a Canadian who is tired of the nonsense that's been happening in the world this past decade, I wish our government would put on their big boy pants and do something about this uncontrolled immigration. Things are bad here too. Our government seems to keep changing policies and laws to further accomodate the insanity that is happening, I promise, not every Canadian wants these changes to happen. We are just as sick and tired of all this nonsense as our American cousins. I wouldn't be surprised if both countries at some point united in objective and worked together to fix this problem - but that's not gonna happen anytime soon as long as these dummies are in power. But believe me, the regular people of Canada see what you're going through because it's also happening in our own back yard. I experienced seeing some migrants going from that Plattsburgh gas station on that bus line this year. I didn't think about it cause there's such a large int'l population in Montreal. But looking back, it was a little weird seeing foreigners waiting for a bus in a smaller city across the border. ? And Canada's visa/permit offices are a joke. Visitors and migrants get their asap but people waiting for a work permit have to wait at least 6 months or a year, even for US citizens

It's not even just in Brampton even 1 to 2 hours away immigrant and international students take all customer service jobs to the point that Canadians can barely get hired into these roles because we have expectations and rights that we worked for and I've seen these immigrants willing to work for less than legal minimum wage and they do not stand up for themselves or work towards having any shared rights. In addition many politicians on both sides of the aisle are rental landlords so only stand to profit from low rental vacancies and cramming as many people into a small space as possible. They've also cut funding to a lot of post-secondary institutions who rely on inflating tuition cost for international students. At my current role on a team of 15 people plus one manager there are only three white people, born and raised Canadians. The rest are all Indians including the manager and will frequently talk amongst themselves loudly in Punjabi while we're trying to serve customers in the English language. That's actually against policy but Canadians are so outnumbered by immigrants and specifically Indians in this place that it never gets enforced properly. I've never been anti-immigration but it's gotten so bad in Canada especially in places like Ontario that I'm now against it and will tell anyone regardless of their skin color to avoid immigrating here. I've been on a wait list for a doctor for over 11 years, I know people who have died from cancer due to delayed referrals due to long wait list for additional screening, it's insane and absolutely ridiculous especially considering the amount of taxes I currently pay and have paid my entire life as a born and raised Canadian.\n\nAlso it's absolutely true every single one is either taking or has taken post-secondary studies in business admin or management. We don't need more people in these fields we need Healthcare sector workers and not a single one that I've spoken with which again is quite a few studied anything related to medicine Healthcare nursing... not one.

If you put yourself in this system, kurudi home itakuwa ngumu. You are also just one paycheck away from being homeless. \n\nCost of living is overly high. You work for bills. Some people get subsidized housing, but those housing are not the best places you would want to live. Mostly in poor neighborhoods and neglected. \n\nI came here and took myself back to school. One of the programs I did was an eye opener Leaderahip program. It gave me a glimpse of who I am and what potential I carry. And boom, I realized this is not my place. My life is not just about working and paying bills, it’s more. And this more can only grow home. Otherwise I will keep working with slow growth in employment, and come back home when I can’t live my full potential \n\n\nIf you have to, leave, come to Canada. Exposure is worthwhile. Make sure you take a technical course, avoid debts. Go back home and grow with your country. \n\nKenya is our Canaan.

I wish I also got 1400 a month, free food, free housing, free everything. Hell, I work full time to pay my taxes and my bills, while supporting my elderly mother and disabled brother. But people like me, do not get any help. To even place my brother in these facilities and programs are a pain, but he is in the process to. I wish there were some sort of support for law aboing citizens like us. We out here struggling, while these people are gettin free handouts. Something ain't right. ?

Well, NY wouldn't vote republican is Robot Hitler was on the democrat ticket. Encouraging people fleeing poverty to illegally enter the US where legally they can't work for a minimum of 6 months was a bad idea? Who could have ever guessed?

Ever since illegals moved into my small town in wisconsin, we've had a lot of car break-ins, and theft is so bad in the store I work in. People who lived here their whole lives are moving out. This beautiful, peaceful little town is starting to go to hell.

Hmm I feel so bad for everyone involved in this. I don't really want cartels going over the US border but I really don't mind all the people fleeing from countries that are even worse then the US. So many of them have such horror stories from their native countries. And if they're willing to work here I don't think there should be really a problem. I just really wish they wouldn't all congregate in the big cities and would move more to a lot of the rural places that are losing people. The housing is getting so expensive in the big cities I'm not sure how they can afford even stay there.

I left the New York area about 5 years ago I went out west what are they going to do up there they're going to get on welfare and food stamps and then the Democrats who won the votes regardless of the crime goes up or anything doesn't matter there are no jobs out there for so-called working class people other than construction and they gave all those jobs to Mexican people basically in the last 20 years what are betrayal American people as long as they pay the corporate people and the government people that's all that matters to them

A long time ago, it used to be beneficial to go to cities where you could get a job making 5-10x the money you could in a rural town. Now it's the opposite. Current cities have reached their maximum growth because the first wavers have decided to pull up the ladder. They want their investments in property to remain high so they block new construction that would otherwise lower their house prices. And that's totally fair. They want to have the maximum standard of living and that's the best way to do it. Fair market bro. But a lot of people, especially politicians, can't plan more than 6 months in advance because of elections. Bad management in certain cities instead of looking for new markets. Medium sized cities are the next best option, since they can actually grow somewhat. The absolute best option is to get an education debt free and then work remotely in a very cheap area with all the luxuries you want.

Yes I understand his point but at the end of the day they’re still not taking any in and they should you can always return them and you can still push for them to have their lands but I don’t think they have to stay the sacrificed to do that. If they’re helping them and truly fighting for their land you should be able to remove people for safety reasons leave the fighters behind when it’s safe you can return the people and they probably should make systems in the neighbourhood areas and yeah other countries in Europe and whatever yes we all should help out each other like that I think for sure . 54 years here and overall the city continues to improve. The biggest issues are congestion and housing costs. Congestion is being worked on with new LRT and subway lines being built. Housing costs are due to the high demand from people wanting to live in a vibrant city. Supply is catching up with demand so price increases will decelerate.\n\nBut is it a surprise that as cities become more desirable living costs go up? Look at London, Paris, Tokyo, etc…?\n\nAs for crime… look at the stats. Crime is way down since the 70’s-90’s.\nWe just have 24/7 news now.

Had Canadian friends (couple) who lived in Long Beach and he worked in Torrence as an engineer. They took me on drives around LA and the county here and there before they had kids and yeah, the freeways were pretty incredible. It was like going to another time zone to visit LACMA lol. But I really loved those drives and we went along Mulholland! And also to the Getty! Venice Beach long before the tents and I loved it! My Canadian friend learned to drive in Long Beach at a driving school so she could attend college in Pasadena and she's now one of the best drivers I've ever been with because she learned in the LA area. Most Canadian drivers are pretty bad lol (eg here = Alberta). I also liked LB at the time, they lived close to the downtown and LB was not the glitzy BS of LA just regular people. It's all b******* Canadians should not be homeless. Should not be on the streets unless they chose to do that. Biggest blunder I have ever done in my life. Racial discrimination in hiring and promotion including in the Federal Public Service is endemic and mobs boggling. Canada never gives educated and talented people place. Yes, Canada attracts high skilled immigrants with bogus promises. Foreign educated doctors and engineers work as Uber drivers.

Canada is in crisis due to immigrants so I don’t understand why you keep coming. Of course Canadian people will not welcome you, our kids can’t get jobs because all jobs are filled with Indian students who agree to work for less ruing our work system.
