This is so true. If you are not one, you have no idea what people of color deal with every day. You have to always be at your best and put up a stellar performance for you to be respected in a predominantly white population. Hi Makeitsimple, one small information I need as help, I applied for Visa already and your video was great help. So I wanted to check with you, any idea when you applied for your parents together, did the application was approved together for your both parents? In my case, I kept my Father as primary applicant and he got approval but my mother application is still showing medical approved and hasn't even moved to Biometric received. Really can't figure out what's going on. Can you share how was your timeline when you processed your parents visa would be helpful ? or any thoughts ?

Canada big ups. Definitely, when I have been to the states, the racial segregation was one of the biggest surprises. Being from Toronto, you'll legit have every culture within 1 floor of 1 apartment building. Then go to like Jersey, and not see a single black person in an entire neighborhood. I REALLY like the diversity of Canada, at least in the big cities. Happy to be raising our daughter here, we actually went out of our way to ensure the daycare we put her in was pretty diverse. \nNow, in our small towns, shit gets a little.... I don't wanna say RACIST per se, but definitely a lack of cultural diversity. Annnnd maybe a bit racist lol. \n\nBesides that, our Universal healthcare is definitely one of the reasons I am proud to be Canadian. It's not perfect, but Canadians don't even understand the idea of medical bankruptcy. Like, how could anyone be against the idea of having a system that gets rid of that? Because taxes go up? Like, we all get old and sick at some point. You DO get that money back with the healthcare you receive eventually, and in the long run, pay less per capita than places with private healthcare. It's like being against your pension. Makes no damn sense to me. \n\nLastly, I gotta throw a little shade on the overly patriotic nature of Americans. Like, the US makes great entertainment. They are a world leader in making entertaining shit. But besides that... y'all ain't so great. Your good, y'know, top tier in terms of countries. But not better in most ways than other first world countries. Worse in a few. Canada isn't perfect, but you don't see Canadians constantly claiming to be better than everyone else. It's such a weird flex, like, everyone who isn't from there knows it's not true. Oooh Chik-Fil-A was pretty addictive (but my weakness was actually Culver's lol)! I will say my experience was sort of different from yours with regards to expenses and cost of living - but then I was in a not-so-major, just-starting-to-grow city in Texas. I also like the idea of having a choice with regards to weather in the U.S. - like if you want more summer and shorter winters with not as much snow, you can move south without crossing a national border. I love gardening so being able to finally have enough sun to grow some plants made me happy.

If your video discourages a few day-dreamin', ill prepared candidates to move to Canada, all the better. We already have our share of whining, self-centered or never-satisfied Canadians of all origins. Now, please note that the much vilified Quebec legislation prohibiting Muslim women to wear a hijab when working in the civil service has a much wider aim. In fact, it prohibits all State employees to wear religious sign - whether it be a Christian cross or a Sikh kirpan, while working. Whether one thinks it is a good idea or not, the law's objective is to uphold the neutrality of the State - not to discriminate against Muslim women.

I remember when I had the idea of going to canada to study and live... I saw the price and NO I chose france instead at a real top university and without debts, only with my savings for working!! There needs to be a class action lawsuit against those scammers as well as the ministry of education for obvious neglection.

One problem I see with this system, is that some folks may end up homeless, but not necessarily on drugs, they will end up at shelters full of people that DO drugs, and thus have no escape, other then becoming a drug addict too. So your liberal ideas are actually increasing the homeless drug addict problem.

I totally agree with you. Lets also not forget the majority of the GDP from Australia is mainly contributed by only a few major cities (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane), whereas in the USA the massive GDP are contributed by much more equal geographically distributed cities from the west coast to the east coast. If you are a young person, migrate to the canada/usa route is a much better choice than choosing isolated Australia in terms of experience and exposure to new ideas. Australian is friendly but not easy to become friends with. You only see them at work and talk a few things and then after work, probably not going to have much further connection.

I have a idea... don't move to Canada. Then more Canadain people will keep wages and standard of living up where it should be. \nMy advice.. stay in your nation of Birth. make the best of that.

For the same reason people leave other countries they immigrated to: disappointment.\nFor some stupid reason, most people go to Canada or other country with an idea of what the country, people, weather, etc. are, but the reality is usually too harsh for them to stay in that place... that also happens a lot with tourists when they imagine a perfect week of holidays in another country and everything turns out to be very different.\nPeople have to start being aware of what the reality may be.

Some may find this offensive but after moving to Canada I realized how my country is convenient and developed place to live in. And I see that the idea of ‘American dream’ which sparked back in 1800s is still influencing people’s perspective toward the world. They brought that concept and somehow think that everything is gonna be better if they move to countries like Canada and Australia. While never had an actual experience in those places.

Canada is a great nation and for them to open their hearts and borders (Visa-Free) to the people of South America and Mexico is a great idea. I would like to invite the Canadian government to go to the Texas border or Southern California border and help the migrants there get to Ontario or Quebec or wherever they can place them. Airplanes, Trains, Buses, Cruise Ships whatever they can do to quickly move migrants to Canada. ???❤️?Then do some incentive programs to encourage migrants to move out of Chicago, New York, and California and move to Canada.

Being born in Canada I was proud of our multiculturalism and believed Canada was the greatest but as an adult I don't understand why people would want to live here. I pay over 40% of my income to the government for all the things that make Canada great but it is just not that way. My taxes help pay for programs that I am not eligible for because before taxes I make too much money but after taxes my take home is the amount that qualifies for programs but that's not how the system works. I need the program because I help pay for it but can't use it because of having money that is not considered to be mine. According to the CRA the money I pay the government in taxes does not and has never belonged to me but that same government labels that tax money as mine in order to deny me the programs I help pay for. It is a good idea to leave Canada if you can. There is no future for the working class except servitude to the government.

As a Canadian...the ship has sailed a long time ago. There is no future here if you are looking for quality of life. If you are ok with horrible winters, unaffordable housing, and modern day slavery move to Canada. Don't believe they lies...the days of opportunity are gone. Cost me a $ million for hospital & med care. Guess if u pay taxes & never get sick then it must suck. In USA we have shootings every day & wkly mass shootings. Racial ignorance is a sad and deplorable mindset that has proven to be detrimental to people of all ethnic backgrounds. As such, it must be quelled. Black people, no one is greater than you but the Creator who named you and the Lord who claimed you. Expend your thoughts, ideas, talents and expertise in building up self, family, neighborhood and securing direct interests in those same resources provided to others. It may not look the same, and that is fine, as long as all of the parts are in place and working properly. Trust, compassion, charity, involvement, innovation, work.

Wow reading many of the comments makes me think 'yikes'. Too many people see immigrants as creating a bigger problem (and cannot see how they are the solution). I'm reading the exact argument that was made all through out Canada's history, yet it is the immigrants that brought in fresh ideas and foreign investment. And Canada has been a shining success because of our immigrants. You'd think that people would realize this by now.
