It's multifaceted. Liberals opened up the flood gates with policies making it very easy for people to immigrate to Canada and increased immigration numbers. It's no longer tied to what Canada can support based on services, resources, and housing. It's simply: Come on in. Second, I've watched a few videos on Youtube showing how immigration is almost a form of trafficking at this point. Immigration companies are making money hand over fist promising the moon to students and people who want a better life and when these poor people get here they end up in crowded lodging with horrible job prospects. A lot of this goes back to the government laxing immigration policies and not being firm on how much we can bring in. This tsunami of immigration has impacted health services, governmental services, and the lives of Canadians. We need to do this smart or not at all. It's frustrating and the frustration needs to be put where it's due, on government and policy but it's also impacting the people and community around us. :( It really isn't the Canada of 10 years ago.

As an immigrant who moved to Canada twenty four years ago, I do support immigration, however, the recent unplanned open immigration policy adapted by the Liberal government has made it challenging to new comers as well as has played it's role in housing crisis. It's the Liberal government's short sights that has resulted the crisis in a high unemployment and inflation rate.

They became homeless when they left their own homes in their countries seeking freebies and riches in the U.S. Its cheaper to send them back to their own countries rather than all American taxpayers financially supporting them. Let the liberal politicians and other Democrats support them from afar by sponsoring them through legit non- profits that provide food and resources WITHIN their country of origin.

Irony is all these people who are getting interviewed are first and second generation immigrants as well. I never voted for Trudeau. EVER! And before you think I am a CP supporter, I am not. I am not a Conservative. Yet when he came to power I knew it would be a disaster for this country. In the last 10 years Trudeau's Administration--or considered lack thereof--has just devastated us. His Liberal Government is absolutely disgusting. I think you missed one key important cause of all this, and one the liberal's biggest policy failures: unfettered immigration. Everyone on r/canada knows and talks about this. It's why housing is becoming more unaffordable, and why wages have stagnated. Canada can't support this huge influx of immigrants.

Many people might ask how the Liberal government issued so many study and work visas to young Indians, who don't have any particularly outstanding qualifications. It is because they allowed colleges to accept students and some of these colleges were created for the sole purpose of collecting high tuition fees, which wealthy Indians gladly paid for as it gave them a chance to live in Canada and apply for permanent residency. Trudeau (like Harper, incidentally) wanted to win Brampton and the surrounding areas so as to be able to form a government. These ridings could easily flip to Conservative, unlike others in Quebec or BC. Voters in these battleground areas were believed to be willing to vote Liberal, if they could have some representation in Ottawa, especially in cabinet. Even as a member of this diaspora, I think courting this population like this was a huge mistake. \n\nIn the post-war II period, the immigrants that came from Canada, were highly qualified, scientists, engineers, architects -- you name it, that had jobs waiting for them at universities and tech firms. If they were students, they came into Ph.D. programs fully supported with stipends. This generation helped Canada tremendously and made Canada a leader in crop science and microbiology research, just to name an example. Today, many here on student visas are working at Tim's or delivering Amazon packages, or even driving trucks without proper training.

Too many immigrants all over Canada and we have an apathetic Canadian response to Liberal and Conservative tyranny to thank for it. Too many Immigrants are coming and they are told that the Liberal party is welcoming them; not Canada. Problem is that this strategy is back-firing because to support the influx the government needs the private sector to support these massive numbers in housing, hiring, infrastructure etc. That is not happening becase the same Liberals are driving government debt through the roof and printing money causing runaway inflation; impacting everyone. We must have immigration. We Canadians are too highly educated to want to do manual labour. We also do need immigration to prop up our pension plans, which will run out of funds in a few years. The immigration levels are affecting not only housing, but healthcare, education, wait times in every federal services dept, and so on. I am wondering why Canada people don't support a different political party instead; it clear shows Trudeau is incompetent & Liberal Party of Canada is totally corrupted. Canada's problems does not sound too complicated.

Most people are not saying no to immigration. We do need some level of immigration. \n\nHowever, we need to slow way down to catch up and make up for the massive immigration of the past 6 to 8 years. Bringing more and more people, when we don't have the infrastructure or the economy to support them, is doing no one a favor (except big companies and landlords). Immigrants come here with the promise of a better life but end up stuck paying 2700$ per month for a closet in Toronto, working three jobs and 55 hours a week where they make 3400$ a month. The housing situation is the worst it has ever been. Rates are high, average cost of house in Canada is now above 750k CAD while the average salary is around 54k. Those are not sustainable figures. We cannot keep accepting 500k people a year, with hundreds of thousands of international students on top of it. \n\nI'm sorry if it ruffles the feathers of some liberal thinkers, CEOs, big slumlords and university boards but this is not a sustainable model. We've been going down in standards of living, despite paying heavy taxes. Something needs to change.

I had an opportunity for work for Aramco in Saudi Arabia about ten years ago and I was offered about $200K without tax. The thought of my wife and three girls wearing the outer islamic garment (abaya?) was a complete no go for my family and decided to turn down the offer. Every country is not for everyone. I hope Saleh family can find a place where they can practice their religion peacefully.
