Sean also told Toronto Mayor Chow Chow if she need millions of billions more she can call Sean any time he is only phone call away, while Canadians mother has to choose pay rent or buy grocery across the country.

Seniors are forced to work long past 65 because we can't afford to stay in our apartments or our homes because of this true liberal communist government is more event on stealing taxpayers dollars to give themselves than to help the people of this great country I'm 68 years old I can't quit I owe the government money every year cuz they say I make too much so if 38,000 is too much that I don't know what is seniors should not be taxed at all. On our payroll checks they're already screwing us every time we go to the pumps every time we go to the store we still get screwed on taxes that we pay more than any other country in the world pays

The process is not the same as it was in the 80s when they did not require renewal every couple yrs w high $ and rules to return to home country for a set amount of time risking losing your home/job/business etc. Some renewal process for green cards have sped up but still takes 6-1yr and a new green card renewal and new one for Mexico can take 1-3yrs for approval. So someone that’s been here +20yrs will have to leave everything they have built here to go wait quite a long time. Its not if you agree how they got here, its what they have done in our country since being here. They add to our economy, +80% pay taxes to never get any of those benefits and they open businesses employing people etc. If they have been here committing a list of crimes then no i don’t agree but majority of immigrants don’t do that. We have always been a country of opportunity and growth for everybody. One can argue that mass immigration from Europe change aboriginal local culture in Canada and now it is changing again due to recent mass immigration so why is this a problem now? People complaining do not acknowledge that Canada created a corrupt system where educational institution made money from foreign students, foreign student in return were happy as long as they got to work (atleast they are willing to work) for money but the moment money is taken away, they feel cheated. These foreign student are not entitle to a PR card when they knowing came to Canada as a students. In fact, we should look at the root cause of these problems. It is the colleges making money off these immigrants, it is the corporate who do not want to pay decent living wages to Canadians so they are hiring these immigrants at a minimum wages jobs. This is called capitalism where the corporate has to save as much money as possible for their share holders. So yes immigration is a huge problems but immigrant alone are not at fault. Fault lies with the government (federal, provincial and municipal) and the corporate entities in Canada as well.

I do get upset at a long wait at the hospital and needs improvement but, then convince myself am getting free service. In US if you don’t have insurance one would pay about US$20,000:- that's my understanding. While in Canada it’s free and so are x-rays, knees surgery etc. I didn’t mind paying taxes as would be taken care of medically when needed.

I lived in Canada for half of my life and now live in the US. I have travelled around the world and the same issues Canada has are worldwide. Taxes, increase in prices (groceries, gas etc), homelessness are world wide issues. \nSocialized medicine what was once thought to be the greatest is disappointing at best. Long wait times,lack of doctors in rural communities and poor pay for many doctors are having them head state side. \n\nI hope you find your next country and it works out. Well in Canada ...at least if you get sick you won't be financially wiped out by hospital bills ...also in the eighties long distance charges were crazy I remember back in the day my girlfriend used to pay about 200 bucks to talk to her mom in northern Ontario calling from Toronto on the weekend then in the 90s Sprint came in and there was 10 cents a minute so there

These employers, along with immigration consultants, homeowners, and small business owners, perpetuate the narrative of a labor shortage to justify continued immigration for their profits but that immigration is tearing the values of our society apart. I fear, soon Canadian passports on the international airports will be treated like a third world country passport. This situation raises questions about the true necessity of immigration in Canada, especially when other countries do not seem to have the same demand. The influx of older international students, particularly from India, taking jobs that could go to Canadian youth, further fuels the debate.

How about this one I'm dual citizen Polish and Canadian long time loong time :) and I have polish passport that's needed and Canadian Polish one I just pay few bucks and I get it no signatures of acquaintances like in Canada. This year I'm not getting Candian renewed cause I have Polish Passport that let's me just like Canadian passport with a bit differnet rules as of EU it's much more and allows. if I don't have Candian passport but I fly in on Polish and I'm a Citizen of Canada as well, do I really need Candian Passport to fly into Canada and stay as long as I want yes I can but is it really needed well will I have problems or just a few minutes when I land in Van or Toronto or Edmonton or Calgary. should I need one. In India if your kid finish grade 12 and got Ilets score 4 to all way 7 then they talk to the agent who talked to the Canadian colleges ! If u can’t pay for your kids study , then you find them spouse who has money and pay for everything only on one condition, he or she can get them to Canada on open work permit ! There was lots of broken relationships because of disputes over money and getting immigration in Canada ! This going on for long time , I guess government didn’t realize that !

The only thing I would say cause you seem to be very young. Is that brampton actually in the 70's and to early 2000's used to be mostly a white and black community and then other cultures. I am born in Toronto I have a cousin born in Toronto who currently lives in brampton she owns a house in brampton for about 25 years. And is going through a lot mentally with the slamming. We got of people from India mostly in the last 2 years, but it's been going on slowly over 10 years and she's not doing well with the overwhelment of Indians and we're of black Jamaican heritage. So just so you know, brampton used to actually be white and then black was actually the second largest population and everybody else was after that. And then in the last 10 years they started coming but it wasn't in hundreds of thousands and then in the last 2 years it blew up insanely. As that man described is like an invasion. I now live on the West Coast of Canada and the same thing has happened here. And it's been a lot for me Canadian born. I've always grew up with every culture. I've lived and worked around the Indians that used to come here were literally not even on the radar. I mean you see them, but you just they just blended in because most of them had assimilated and were doing their lives. The breed that has come over specifically in the last 2 years is what is making it even worse cause if they acted like the ones who came before 10 -20 -30 years ago. They probably wouldn't stand out, but then again when you bring in almost a million, into all of Canada, they would stand out, but maybe people wouldn't be so agitated, if they had tried to assimilate and be respectful to the other cultures here and that is the number one complaint I hear anytime, I see interviews. Is people saying they don't assimilate? They're very rude to anybody who is not them. They are just interacting with the environment. The way they do at home, Canadians are more quiet and try to be respectful of other cultures. We like to just have their own space and our own peace when they're moving throughout this space and a lot of people describe the energy of the Indians coming in almost evasive into your space and then not really carrying anything about invading ur space. They act like, so what's the big deal if I'm in your space and that has been the number one issue is just the rudeness. Not assimilating and imposing their culture, speaking their language, not attempting to integrate with other cultures showing actually a lot of racism to some of the other cultures. And that has been the biggest problem. So just so you know, cause I can tell you're young. I'm North 40 years old and I can tell you. The demographic change has been so intense everywhere in Canada especially in the last 2 years. That I have even seen podcast with Indian people who have been here 10 -20-30 years, saying the government needs to figure out a way and get a good swath of these people gone because they are. Staining them with a negative brush. Cause I can tell you. It's only in the last 5 years. That I notice Indians. I've grown up around every culture. And I just don't notice individual cultures in that way. Until in 2022, Trudeau took the guard railsl off the foreign worker program and the student Visa working program. And just said Hey, anybody want to come bum rush the door now? And India is known for having middlemen in India that work with Fake Diploma Mills scholls with brampton having over 80 of them that the middlemen work scamming Indians by telling them if they pay anywhere from $5000 all the way up to $50,000 even higher to get fake school acceptance letters, so they can come here to get the word permit and work full-time or with companies that provide fake LMIA job offers on the black market, which is illegal under the I.R.C.C, but that is a thing that they had prior to 2022. And when Trudeau took the guards rails off when it comes the requirements and basically. Made it a free-for-all and as India already had the scamming infrastructure in place that kept their population moderate and it just allowed th scammers to go nuts, so that's why we got mostly Indians. Other cultures do it too, but it's so tiny. It's not noticeable. The Indians already had the infrastructure in place that when they took off the guard rails, it was easy for them to switch and start selling these opportunities to go to these fake schools was over 80 of them in brampton t such a lightening speed. Hence why we got slammed so hard-and-fast with that specific community.That just really we're coming here to work and send money home and that is also why a lot of our banks are now struggling with cash reserved because they're sending money home. Indians, why do you go to your so-called country? Why don't you create jobs in your country? Just remember that a lot of people have a before and after view. Back in the day a school photo looked like a meeting of every country and now in some areas, those photos look like one country only. My point is that people grew up in a multicultural environment. Very rarely did one group have so much impact with so few people in such a short time. The long and short of it is stop driving like an entitled @$$, mow the lawn, don't be the loudest people, don't crowd, have large gatherings in public areas where you take over some place so that nobody can use it. Some people just want to get in, get their stuff and go home. I understand that the 2 countries in the world with the largest population like to be very sociable and crowd together, but neither of the two groups want to follow rules, laws or be considerate of other people. It's all about them and how they want to live. Imagine you've been paying taxes and following the laws and being considerate of other your whole life and someone coming to the country and making no effort to behave.

TFW here, east Asian, a couple of things:\nI am paid the provincial minimum wage, and work in the dairy industry, medium sized farm.\nI started working straight out of high school\n\nFrom what I can see and hear from across the province and largely in the western Canadian provinces, older generation farmers are at the retirement age, but the younger generation is generally very reluctant to take over. \nNot all industries, but definitely in livestock, people sometimes don't realize that, there is literally no breaks, ever! You work every day, holidays, Christmas, and if you do chose to take a few days off, your co-workers, i.e. other family members or workers, have to take up the extra workload. You barely have time for your family, you are often tired around your kids. Farmers have some of the highest suicide rates among all occupations, as well as a difficulty to find partners due to the nature of their jobs.\nThe work is hard, days long, especially during harvests, and if the ever more expensive tractors, equipment fail...\nThere used to be a lot of family owned farms, over the last few decades most have sold their generational farm and left the industry, most because of the cost to operate and because the next generation's unwillingness to take over.\nYong people my age have not been seen applying for my position in a few years now, despite ongoing hiring effort at significantly higher than minimum wage, and I have repeatedly stated that I, although love my job, am ready to step aside at any point so a Canadian PR or citizen can take my position, as required by worker rules. There were a few inquiries from neighboring areas, mostly made by parents, but their children in the end all refused to work, even part time, or seasonal.\n\nOn the other hand, there is the issue of prices: equipment costs have largely more than doubled since the pandemic, grain prices rose... and all that on top of the constant uncertainty of the weather every planting and harvesting season. Most farms don't ever make a profit after the yearly operating cost is deducted from earnings, and the little profit that on occasion appear, goes right back into paying debt or reinvesting in renewing long overdue old equipment.\n\nMy position, and all those similar to mine in agriculture, are in all fairness, very low skilled, with minimum training, and therefore is only worth minimum wage, in my opinion. I was actually offered a higher amount but in the end turned it down because on the job, I discovered the only thing I bring to the table is manual labor (I know that's not really the right way to go about wages, but I do believe that wages should be based on the irreplaceableness of one's skills, and as it stands, although no replacements were ever found, I am very much easily replaceable, skill wise). That, compared to a slightly better paid Starbucks position, with benefits (most farm workers and owners don't have benefits or pension, yes owners too), air conditioning, regular work hours. I mean, if it wasn't for my particular interest for agriculture I'd pick Starbucks any day too!\n\nI think a couple issues are at hand, \n1. Most of agriculture's profit ends up in the corporate processing and supermarkets, that needs to change, workers could benefit, as well as consumers, from distributing that profit between farmers and shoppers.\n2. Agriculture in today's context no longer fit the modern life, although I strongly think that A LOT of people can benefit from getting their hands dirty once in a while and sweating a bit, improve physical and mental health, have better discipline all that jazz. So foreign workers are the temporary solution, if well regulated so that Canadian PR and citizens are ALWAYS prioritized for hire and at a fair wage. This cannot happen unless farmers can turn a profit, stated in point 1.\n3. A new generation of farmers are needed to take over, and they need to be somehow convinced that it is worth the toil, because as it stands, it is not, financially, life style wise. Automation is one solution, although therein lies the huge, foreseeable risk of corporate takeover.\n4. On a specific note, TFW does mandate that workers are provided up to standard housing (not always followed), which puts local workers at a huge disadvantage if they are commuting to work and paying rent, although that rarely happens, and the majority of farms do offer housing to all.\n\n\nI am aware that me being treated up to regulation is not the norm among my TFW peers, which is quite sad and unacceptable. But in my opinion, even if given a leveled playing field, wages , conditions, housing, etc. Canadian citizens and PRs largely will be unable to meet the demand for these jobs, from unwillingness to work really hard physically, unwillingness to live the lifestyle, wanting a career with better prospects... these are harsh words, but I believe to be true, and they also come from a lot of older generation farmers talking about their children and grandchildren. \n\nThis is just in the agri industry, and from what I hear from farmers from all over western Canada : )

Canadians of Indian origin mostly from Punjab are Khalistani sympathizers and they have fomented enough trouble locally in Canada and are primarily responsible for the poor relations between India and Canada. \n\nSecondly Indian emigration is of highly skilled work force consisting of doctors, scientists, financial experts, bankers, professors, businessman, politicians, and logistics business experts etc. They contribute to the treasury by paying the highest taxes than any other immigrant including european settlers. By and large Indians are peace loving people and excel in their fields. Now Indian origin people are into politics and Canada has a few MPs of Indian origin serving as ministers of defense, foreign affairs etc. \n\nThis xenophobia has to stop. Every wave of immigrants to the new continents have faced these problems be it Irish, Italian, Spanish, Dutch or East European immigrants. The process of assimilation takes a long time and in the meantime there would be some hiccups to which the society will eventually adapt. Every new immigrant group faces hostility from the earlier settled immigrants. It's much harder if the new immigrants don't look like the earlier settled immigrants. This is natural !!!.

And this is why we shouldn’t pay crazy sums of money to foreign universities- it’s a rip off. Where it would take only 2-3 yrs in Canada in earn the same amount. \n\nSo basically you ruin your life if you pay fees in CAD and then return to India immediately - you need to stay at least long enough to recover your fees.\n\nAdditionally, Canadian university degrees are not valued in the Indian job market, just the work experience. \nSo best not to pay to study in foreign university if they can’t guarantee 2-3 yrs of work. After that you can always return, it’s actually better.

Forget the language barrier. Even if you speak German their bureacracy is worse. It discriminates and even if you are legally correct they will purposelly give you wrong information on what you are eligible for. The labour office gave the wrong advice to a friend recently and asked her to quit her Job as the doctor had asked her not to return to work after a long sickness. Even though she was eligible for job benefits as she paid labour insurance they refused to pay her on sick grounds and asked her to quit her Job and come back. She did it only to be told later that she would get only part of the benefits as their doctor without examining or seeing her or even checking the background declared her unfit for a full time Job. They went to court and the court declared that the Labour office was correct. The lower court sent it to the upper court and the upper court said it was not responsible and the district court was responsible and asked us to withdraw the case. The courts are hand in glove with the bureaucracy and even if the bureaucracy makes mistakes they will always support it.

After I moved to Germany I realized that people in general do not have freedom. Yes you have the freedom to shape your life, Germany is not an autocratic country, however the hardness of life forces you to follow certain paths. Even the smallest changes you make brings a lot of bureucratical burden and risk. That is why you live a llmited life. \n\nAs expats we changed jobs several times to find better opportunities but Germans do not change much. I asked the reason and they answered establishing a life is very hard here, so after you manage it you try to maintain it. These guys were not happy with their jobs but cannot change it because it cost a lot. First, they are living in a formerly rented flat so if they change their jobs they know that they would pay more when they move. Second, after some age they know it is not easy to find a job so they don't want to risk it in a new environment with that 6 months long probation period.

Long story short, these hopeless refugees pay thousands of dollars dreaming to have a better life for them and for their families. These refugees view us as we live in heaven, although we complain a lot about the living conditions in the US or in Europe, but still these hopeless refugees dream to live our life just for a few days. They walk thousands of miles, and some of them die trying to reach the dream destination

In face, Canada is good to raise children, but when they grow up and you are free on yourself, it is better to change to live in other countries. South america and Southeast asia are among good choices. Selling your house will stop paying the ever rising government tax and strata fee but gives you a more affordable housing while plenty left for buying medical insurance abroad. Saving of 35-45% tax can easily buy a descent plan. Canada is great but the cost of living is far more greater! In long run, Canada will become more occupied by Indians and other third world countries immigrants who like to raise large family to maximize their welfare and send children to school for free. The employers like cheap labour and bigger consumer size so they support Treadue. The foreign students in my company ridiculously work more than study. Bureaucratic inefficiency is also prevailing in many governmental bodies, federal and provincial alike. Large private companies are not much better.

I fully agree with you. The International Students, most of them have no manners and are rude. I use public transport. Some don't pay fares, talk loudly in their language either on the phones or in a group. They push to get in or out of the buses. They have taken away jobs from our youth, who are citizens of Canada. They signed on the documents that they would go back to their country after studies, but NO, they want PR. That was their intention in the first place. They are inconsiderate of others. They have no respect for others. It's just them. How can we say they are the future generation of this country, who also cheat the system. There are also some Indians, Muslims who have recently, I would say 10-12 years moved to Canada, do the same as above, including loud music in their cars, noisy cars, litter and spit, also spit red liquid on the grounds, etc., it is annoying. They come here thinking they can do whatever they want to do it's their freedom in a free country. We also see that there are scammers from Call Centres in India who have scammed so many innocent Canadians, including some Seniors. Then don't blame Canadians who have been here for long, who speak up about this issue. Thanks.

But also the Landlords have taken an advantage in rising the rent time after time while these property they have bought them long time ago and already have no morgage paid. My rent went up 1000 dollars in just one month after I have lived and pay my rent for over 10 years, This now is common because people cannot afford to get a house or even an apartment. The problem is the government allowed houses to skyrocket high so the banks and them can make more money and less care for anyone. The system has to be fixed.

I'm Canadian born and raised. My grandparents came from England after WW2 for a better life and sadly the Canada that they immigrated to is long dead. \n\nThe lack of opportunity and the insane policies of the federal government has severely decimated the quality of life in Canada. I wanted to start a family and own a home, nothing huge or extravagant, just something to call my own and all of that seemed impossibly out of reach to me. I had a somewhat well-paying job and lived within my means and I could not seem to get ahead. I didn't own a large or new vehicle, rarely ate out and would always try to buy used. Still, I could barely save or invest anything. \n\nNot wanting to live in a place that just wants me to be poor, lonely and unhealthy I pulled the trigger and left for Eastern Europe. I have no regrets and while it has been a difficult and stressful process, it has been well worth it.

Healthcare here is to the point where I just pay out of pocket for a lot of things anyways because either the doctors' won't take me seriously, or the wait is too long. I've consistently had to pay out of pocket for a lot of medically relevant treatment. Sometimes I think about looking into going to the states for surgery because I've been on a wait list for a consultation for 3 years now...

As an Indian, who is the highest income earning ethnicity in Germany like USA.. Yes I can say that people are good as I have many German friends and some directly judge me as per my face and clothes to look cool n all(but yes they respect us). And not only Germans but also other people from Western countries and Korea, Japan, Indonesia and some treat us differently. They say that we are talented people but have that old stereotype in them which I can read on many people's faces as soon as I see them. but I don't care. \n Apart from that, Germany has slow bureaucracy, long waiting times, no adjustments nd easy to go like us, canceled trains,less digital infra., and a language barrier. I work as a highly skilled professional in a Supply chain with so-so pay.

This is what happens when there is zero accountability when you don't pay your rent. They aren't held financially responsible and they get off scot free, God forbid you owe the government money though. They will destroy your credit and throw you in jail. As long as its happening to us peasants its ok. Just shut up, take your shots, don't say anything that can offend anybody, and you'll be allowed to go to work everyday to give them 40% of your pay.

We had not communicated in a long time BUT... I think you were surprized how much you enjoyed to exploration of Russia a few years ago but quality of life was very good then but even better now, but retaining the unmatched access to culture, very low cost of living much lower crime rate than Canada/US/Europe, and cost of living about 1/10th of Canada, great health and easy to get a residency and citizenship due to being from Ukraine originally. For your travels, it is a little more complicated due to US sanctions but from here in St Petersburg it is really easy to travel by bus to Estonia and fly anywhere in the world. Estonia is the cheapest cost of living in the Baltic. I have flown to California several times using that route and to London the flight is $50 euros. \nAlthough you explored a lot here there is so much more to see and experience.\nThere is no doubt the western countries that relied on cheap labor and resources from colonies are all in a downward spiral and the east is rising. All the BRICS countries have positive growth in quality life and economic growth and a total of 108 countries have either applied or expressed serious interest in joining the largest trade block in history while the US empire fades at an accellerating rate. I would not go back the the crime, homelessness, anger, poverty of the US but have family business to take care of every 4-5 years. The decline is not a temporary downturn, the banking collaps that is accelerating now and impossible to pay back debt, it is really sad to see how the US is turning out. When growing up in California we had everything , really the golden state but is a wreck now. I came back to Canada in 2022 after 20 years living abroad, and it's been a mixed bag. Getting a good job is extremely difficult as international experience is rarely factored into potential employers decisions to hire - even if the companies you've worked for are Fortune 500. If you didn't work for that company in Canada, good luck getting the same position. You'll be working in a junior position despite your previous job title. My wife is currently going through this. She went from Project Manager at one for largest companies in the world to junior developer at a small company. Pay is.......not great.\n\nI've been lucky with having a lot of support of family and friends. A lot of the clients I've started to work with in my profession came through people I know. I never would have got these opportunities on my own in that amount of time. It would have taken years. Nepotism played a big part.\n\nTo come to Canada, and start a new life without a solid support system would be absolutely brutal right now. I got really lucky, but my situation isn't normal. I wouldn't recommend anyone (Canadian or immigrant) to come back right now if they're been gone for a long time. The rent alone is enough to turn anyone away.

If you or anyone inn the same situation have enough (A lot) of money, of course it's the smart choice to move abroad. You are still super young. But someone close to retirement and after living in Canada for a long time, Its not that smart. Canadian goverment wont pay you full pension if yu don't live for a minimum amount of time a year inside Canada. So giving away your money to the Canadian gov is not something that a lot of people are willing to do. Not after living years here and paying huge tax. But again you are lucky that you are young.

I so understand! My husband and I have been nomading for the last 12 years and are now getting tired of constantly moving. We've decided to settle in Spain for now. Got a visa for three years. But we still don't know where to actually live long term. We can't afford to live in the US anymore. Not only housing, but the basic expenses like clothing, groceries, car and gas not to mention healthcare, which is prohibitively expensive to even only pay for insurance alone. \nWe have been priced out even though we always thought of ourselves as middleclass, professionals. I came to this country via the federal immigration process, with a skilled worker visa nearly 15 years ago. I have always had high paying jobs, own my house, and my car. I don’t regret coming here, but I think the current economic environment is quite different than when I came here. Unless we provide more support for newcomers, I don’t think they will stick around too long.

We also face a similar challenge in other countries that housing is a crisis and governments keep bringing in all sorts of immigrants, from refugees to highly skilled people (like myself). I have switched 5 cities and the story either gets more worse or less worse. Half a year searching for a decent apartment? Some search for years! It's a full time job. The government gets back to my request after many months! Foreigners offices are packed with applications and citizenship is taking years long now. Getting a doctor appointment (psychological issues) within a year is hard, unless you pay from pocket or are in grave danger. We are being squeezed in here and they started new loose immigration policies to be more attractive to foreigners. Address the quality of life at the same time!

I am in BC and it took 3 to 4 months to see the Residential Tenancy Branch to hear my case before an Arbitrator and I won. Hopefully the laws in Ontario are better. In B.C. the Residential Tenancy Branch cannot enforce monetary orders. This means the Tenant doesn't have to pay despite an order for payment from the Residential Tenancy Branch. You then have to go to small claims court which is another long process.
