Assuming that they would be supportive and good role models, are your children’s grandparents still alive? Would living near them be an option? Are any uncles, aunts, and cousins available at any potential locations? Suggestion: Some dear friends sold their dream home and left their long-time friends last year to move across the country to live in a property that they had inherited. These friends eventually admitted that they were MISERABLE in their new location and now (12-14 months later) have returned to their “home state.” Unfortunately, their choices have turned-out to be very “costly” in many ways….. Since your children are involved, you may want to consider giving any potential location a 6-12 month “test run” before making an “official” decision….. I was born and raised in Canada (Montreal /Ottawa) to Haitian immigrants and I decided to permanently leave Canada in 2021 with my family for many of the same reasons you conveyed. I have moved around the US quite a bit (I've lived in every time zone except Mountain, including Hawaii). Moving to a totally different place is always exciting to me. Even if you eventually find that it is not where you want to stay forever, it is worth the experiences, and the growth you get from having to learn new things. If you are considering the US, some of the things you don't like about Canada, is probably true here as well. It seems like you can probably make more money down here, but the cost of living is still expensive here, and many, many Americans also live paycheck to paycheck. I wish the best for you.

I lived in Dubai for 9 years. I think you would like it there, although the cost of living was also high. You may also wish to check out Fujairah. It is located on the east coast of the UAE, on the Gulf of Oman,, about 90 kilometers from Dubai. Cost of living is cheaper there. Muscat, Oman is also worth checking out. Oman has no oil money, so compared to the UAE it is a much lower standard of living, but I would guess cost of living is much cheaper than in the UAE. I have spent some time in Muscat and the people are super friendly.

Sir , check out Malaysia, KL is a great country and Muslim friendly of course, but also a tolerant society . Check out the Philippines. I live there part time . On the SW corner of Mindanao (Zamboanga ) great town and 1/2 Muslim) people get along fine there usually. I live up in north Luzon - mostly Christian but Muslims are around too . No hassle and respectful. I don’t know your financial situation, however, in the Philippines, the school system is quite good, and private schools are stunningly excellent. I would definitely check out the Philippines and also Malaysia. Both have a great style of life and it doesn’t cost a fortune to live well. Education is quite good and the medical situation is also quite good. In the Philippines, however you have to select the hospital before you become ill in the Philippines, there is the public hospitals, which is fine for minor, scrapes and cut, but I would recommend a major hospital for anything serious. In Malaysia, the standard of medical care is good throughout the country. You could also consider northern Thailand. Southern Thailand is too much into tourism, but northern Thailand has a good mixture of people and religions. Mainly a Buddhist country, but very tolerant towards Christians, Hindus, and Muslims. I am definitely with you on a lot of those reasons. Especially the craziness going on with the government. And the craziness with the woke agenda. I’m not a Muslim so having mosque calls five times a day would not be something I’d be down for. But I do appreciate that you are faithful to your God. And you wish to put your God first that is some thing that more of us should be doing for sure. With peace in mind, of course.

I agree with the both of you 100% , Islam is very different from other faiths and your family will prosper more with those that have similar beliefs. Canada is cold at times and I wish it were hotter, but I love it, l am a Christian and I love the outdoors, my kids love the out doors and we love Canada. I have lived in ME, visited far east.. these countries have issues. Yes you hear the Azan 5 times, if you pray in North America facing hurdles, you get ajar, lets not forget this. Children who live here are taught how to live like a Muslim in North America and build on it. Lol. As an American I laugh every time I hear Americans say they want to move to America, especially during a national election. I was born in Canada and could legally move there today. I just wish I could sell that 'ticket' and make some money. I haven't visited Canada since I was 18 months old and never will.

Respecting people's rights to choose what they believe and practice - but saddened that so many people\nfollow religions and do not truly research the symbolism, the history, the connections - no one should \nbe attacked for wearing a head covering etc - at the same time Muslims, like many other religious\ngroups just follow what the leaders say - and - if they truly researched they would find out that \nfollowing men and clerics is not wise and not even what our Creator wants for us.\n\nI was raised in a large world wide accessible religion - then, when I saw and heard things that\ndid not add up - I prayed for truth and then pro-actively researched - I compared the teachings\nof that religion from materials with in and from out with - and drew my conclusions - I also\nbeleive that I was led to find some very useful information not of myself - I learned enough\nto make an informed decision to leave that religion. My journey after that has not been an\neasy one as there is a lot of conflicting information and factions in this world - but over time\nmy original decision has been re-enforced by facts - I also came across the origins of Islam\nand who controls it - and that would be a surprise to many - and likewise would surprise\nother people in other religions ( including the popular New Age / Eastern Mystic religions)\nare all run by the same group world wide - and The New Age / Eastern Mysticism have\nbeen marketed as some kind of non religious freedom - but are, in fact religions with\ndogmas and leaders.\n\nThe Truth has set me free - I continue to study and to have faith alone in our Creator alone\nand I try to continue to learn what I can about the world and about spiritual things - to aid\nmy understanding and discernment. No country is perfect and Canada is not either, but when compared, it's doing pretty well. If everybody would change country because they disagree with the government on some points, everybody would leave their country. Wherever you live, you have to embrace the way of life of this country. If I lived in Morocco, I wouldn't heve the idea to criticize the call for prayer 5 times a day. As an atheist I wish you all the best, it's true the political games destroying the West from within. Though I'm on the side of LGBT and i believe that they should have rights like everyone else, at the same time I understand that some extreme ideologies can go and push so far and I agree that let kids be kids. My only concern is that Islamic countries do not have any rights for LGBT people at all, in fact, they are being prosecuted based on religion since religion is basically the law. I have been living in Canada for over 20 years now, staying in Mississauga & not sure about the druggies everywhere statement, may be true about downtown TO. We also have a strong muslim community around us, ofc azaan five times a day and access to pray easily I do understand is missing here as in any non muslim country of the world. There are a lot of halal food options here now..esp in the past few years. Regardless of where you stay, it is my belief that you carry your deen with you, its a way of life and can be practised & taught to children in any part of the world. I do get the point about winters, but then summers are harsh in alot of countries like the Middle East & ppl stay mostly indoors. To each their own & I wish you the best in your decision! ❤

I live in USA, wears hijab in the proper way i work in a health care facility, never had any problems with my hijab. I met all kinds of people never had any problem and pray on time. Having done a similar voyage, my two-pence is that, resources permitting, at least until you have really properly tried the other country out for a period of time, I'd recommend retaining a base, even if a small one, in Canada, leaving your longer term stuff there rather than packing everything that you own and dragging across the world. In my experience, the most enhancing and liberating situation is one where you get to enjoy the privilege of being able mix the best of the two worlds. When abroad in the other Muslim country you will have great moments but - guaranteed - also a fair share of disappointments and negative experiences. Even if you think you have thought of everything, you don't know what you don't know, or how you may feel, or what and where is better, until you've spent a longer time over there. I could write a book by now but will just leave you with go, explore, see, try, but ideally have an easy way to come back to Canada to regroup (to potentially try again, better and differently with a bit more experience). I leaved in Canada for over 20 years and noticed the drastic changes you mentioned. I still have 4 of my kids in Canada, They are grown up and have their own families now. As I traveled to few places for professional raison I always been on family status because I wanted to be close to my wife and 6 children. The best place I liked is the sultanate of Oman. It’s a conservative Islamic environment and people are very respective, very nice and welcoming. The only thing that bothers a bit is the heat in summer time but other than that it’s the best place in the world. By the way 3 of my children are planning to leave Canada to one of the gulf countries and I wish them good luck. May Allah guide you to the right path and place to rise your kids and practice your faith at ease.

Come to South Africa, it's not perfect here, we do have lots of problems but you will hear your 5 times a day azaan, islaam is strong, our madressahs are tops, hijab is never a problem.\nWe have the best constitution in the world. \n\nI'm shocked when I hear about a simple thing like hijab that we wear freely and in the workplace if you so wish.

As salamu alaikum, may Allah guides you to the best decision and place for your family and use you in the goodness whatever wherever and accept your good deeds ameeen ?\nJust to not be shocked some of your reasonable reasons for looking for more Islamic environment are not available as you wish in lot of Islamic countries.\nOf course there's more daily Islamic things that people in these countries take for granted while Muslims in western countries suffer to get/live and though the gap in cultures is shrinking, which should be a good thing in its principle, but with time of more fetan it sometimes means faster spread of fetan between countries to find some of what your suffering from is there also but maybe alhamdullelah still not in same pace or widness.\nIt hurts do much being in countries whose governments support obviously the wrong side, just keeping mind it's hurting (regardless now of whether hurts more/same/less) when you are in some Islamic countries and not free to express your opinions freely.\nIt's worth mentioning that moving while kids are not yet old enough to get familiar with anti-islamic things around is better in timing.\nOne suggestion that I'm not sure whether is affordable or time wise is good or not or whether you've gone this all the way of trying or not is to continue living in Canada with more surroundings of people of similar core values (by the way not all of whom I mean have to be Muslims, lot of non-Muslims are conservative about education and society pushing their kids to ideas and behaviors against their core values) if you've tried this already and even tried moving within Canada for that purpose and didn't work, then may Allah help you to go for the best.

I lived and worked in TO in a few areas for several years. I left in 2016. I am glad I left before it got bad. I started witnessing more racist comments on subway and platforms were becoming too crowded. After 30 plus years I moved to live in a rural area before moving to live in a similar setting to where I grew up in Oakville. I do love TO and it has so much to offer. I worked downtown and just could not keep up. I spent my spare time walking along the beaches especially Scarborough Bluffs and skating at Harbourfront on a weekday. These are fond memories that I will cherish.\n\n I heard that the shelters were over crowded and unhealthy places. I met a nice man in my building who was successful, lived on street for 13 years before successfully integrating into low-income housing. I learned the most from his stories and met some of the most fabulous people in the worst buildings. I had to leave for safety and mental health reasons. I could not see myself remaining in TO without support. \n\n I made the right move in the right time. Not everyone can afford city living. My quality of life and mental health are better but I cherish the friendships I made in TO. My Grandfather was a Mcleod and I am amazed how much you look like my mother when she was younger. She modeled for Ford and volunteered for a local Vet and hospital. I wish you well. I appreciate your honesty. Since I left, I have driven by TO on 407 a few times. I just didn't have the right mix of education and work to survive in the city any more.

What is actually causing the problems in Canada is PRECISELY the expectations of a high standard of living absolutely everyone has, including brand new immigrants. Who as if they were owed a palace immediately begin complaining about the work they have to do and the fact they're not immediately appointed the king of Canada. To put simply, we have an incredibly spoiled population, a population that expects low prices for everything and has a terrible productivity overall and does not wish to work in the kinds of jobs that every economy needs in order to fuel everything else. Food production is the so-called inceptive value. The more food you produce, the more people can consume it, and this in turn flows through the economy to enable all the other kinds of economic activity. We have to bring in hundreds of thousands of temporary foreign workers from Mexico just to be able to harvest. In the past, Canada allowed immigration from all over the world of people who were mostly poor, refugees, and those desperate for a new life. They worked all the time doing every kind of imaginable job in every kind of condition. They built this country with their perseverance and hard work. The immigrants today, are selected on a points-based system, and the idea behind this is that someone with two university degrees, or trained in a profession, even if they don't work in their field in Canada because they're all sorts of barriers to transferring your education, are not very likely to be criminals or antisocial types. Criminals or antisocial types. In other words, Canada has chosen to attract high quality candidates on the assumption that they would be less likely to become criminals, while they in turn, having been picked from the best in their society, arrive in Canada with very high expectations, and discover that actually they're going to have to work in all sorts of other kinds of jobs and will probably not work in their field, even though that's what got them the points to come to the country. The country. This is the brilliant system brought in by Stephen Harper's conservatives, which brings in people with high education, and allegedly high skills, especially high language skills, so the government doesn't have to pay for their language training, but it doesn't consider the fact that these are very often people with other choices, who are not willing to work in construction or farming or service or retail or all those kinds of things that we desperately need workers in. The reason why we can't build enough housing has nothing to do with local governments and property values. It has to do with lack of labor. This education system, for some unbeknowned reason, is absolutely terrible, and provides basically no skills, training or education for the vast majority of high school students such that when they graduate high school, their forced to go to university or college. Since they have absolutely no training. In most parts of the world you finish high school and you have a trade, or you have some skill to begin working, the kids here know nothing. Nothing. Other than emotional safety, intersectional language, and wokeism. On top of that, the government has brought in every kind of environmental restriction and regulation on account of incredibly loud, but actually small minority of enviro lunatics, who most of the time use these environmentalism as a cover precisely for protecting their high property values in very luxurious and special places around the country, and they oppose logging and all sorts of resource extraction under the guise of environmentalism. But it's actually to preserve their special privileged position often in some wilderness or island, where they might be the only one or a handful of families who got lucky to somehow own a property. Property and so they oppose everything on account of environmental reasons. But it's just to keep people out and preserve their own privileged place. This country also as most others suffers from the illness of dishonesty and lack of integrity brought about by a culture of marketers where nothing is the way it is said to be. Everything is a fine print. And we have gotten used to this as normal. We've gotten used to having credit cards, charges, 25% interest, we've gotten used to being ripped off constantly by all the corporations for everything, and nobody complains and they just borrow more and they just bottle it in and now it's finally coming out. Out. People are fed up of the enviral lunatics. They're fed up of people who complain and bitch one moment about the pipeline and then complain and bitch the next moment about the high cost of gasoline when the pipeline is temporarily shut down for servicing. My family and I left Canada for Mexico a few years ago. It was the best thing we ever did and I wish we had done it sooner. Both of our families have been in Canada since before it was even a country. It was time to move on to greener pastures. I've lived in Dubai (traveled to many other countries).. this is nowhere near being considered as developed anymore (GDP criteria is outdated)..Canada got developed and they forgot to update and even upgrade..!! The drug situation is so bad that I really hope that you didn't come across crackheads/homeless who are under the influence of drugs at all times.. No doubt there are way more homeless people in India, but they are working or at least trying in some way to make their life better and they never hurt you at least, here, it's the opposite, as they literally can do anything.. you can find them roaming all over on the streets of Old Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa.. You can literally find them everywhere.. someone commented earlier that you should give 2 years.. Bro or sis.. it's a complete waste as I am at the same point.. and on top of it when you invested 2 years, it even becomes tougher as it becomes even harder to go back as you have spent so much on furniture, house, car, tools, n all and most importantly - 2 YEARS of life. I left my pregnant wife and have been staying away from her and a 1-and-a-half-year-old baby boy hoping that we'll create a better future and can afford to struggle right now.. its been 2+ years.. Honestly.. I am still not able to figure out whether there is any future or I have spoiled my present looking for a future.. its a dilemma beyond explanation in words, with no relatives or anyone based here.. I've a lot at stake currently and that's the only reason I am stuck otherwise leaving this place seems to be inevitable.. \n\nI travel extensively all throughout and forget about expressways anywhere in Canada (Except 407 which has an insane toll rate) it's a 4-lane highway just 80 km from Toronto to the rest of 450+ kms to Montreal which are 2 major cities of this so-called developed country.. same is for Ottawa, the same hold true from Calgary to Edmonton, and any other major town/city!! on top of it, they are struggling to even maintain those (always under construction - even construction is a wrong word to use as they aren't adding anything new.... it is just being repaired in true words) Same is true with adding new infra in terms of hospitals or any other facility... Banking sucks.. Still dealing through the mail (Postal mail).. (Mails not e-mails). I simply can't get that.. the tax agency - CRA sends communications through the mail, and the same with any other agency.. Comon.. grow up is what I feel at times..!! People are literally not willing to work (Except hard-working immigrants), Govt. doesn't have any plans for the future regarding the economy and development... just bringing in immigrants.. that's it..\n\nYou've made a very smart decision and really at a very good time.. wish you, and your family all the best..!!

This is true of so many larger cities in the US and Canada. The main issues are affordability and mental health. Now as folks find themselves homeless, many start to self medicate (major drug problems). And by the way, many move into the larger cities hoping to find services or a way to survive, so they are not all native to those larger cities. In the US, I found driving from Portland OR to the Bay Area that many homeless now live in rural areas as well. I wish I had a real solution, we all know that it will take money, which no one wants to put out. Whichever direction it goes (incarcerating folks is way more expensive then mental health and housing services), it will take a lot of time to correct these issues. I do wish that people would stop pointing political fingers and work on solutions.

Well I had a kid this year in Québec, it was like 250$ for a single room or 20$ for double room or something. \nYeah some hospital would sell our informations to banks and diapers or food manufacturers... still cheaper than 3000$USD\nFor student I'd say if you are citizen of canada, it's like 10 time cheaper to study here than in US as far as I've seen.\nViolence is something really sad. I'd really wish that just guns were restrain for hunting and special forces, like police officer or body gard of gouvernment selected individual accredited to hold a weapon for defence.\nI've heard that in USA police don't all have to go through police academy that teach them how be an officer. Here they have to go to school, be cadets in summer break, have your attitude checked to de-escalat violent situation if possible.\nWhen I was a in high school violence was in drop in school, so much that they withdraw the officer that was station to that school to just do some one time per year presentation of what to do for security, to absolutely nothing.

Im in Alberta even though i was born in Ontario. Ive lived in almost every province and came back to Alberta years ago. My boys were born here the 1st time i was here. I would never live in any other province but Alberta! We are more like our own Republic here anyways and despise Ottawa which is fine by me considering Trudeau is there. The cold weather sucks in Alberta but very little mosquitos, summers are awesome and businesses are mostly privatized and not government run! Sadly everything you shared is pretty accurate. I got got followed to my work place by a stranger I met in the TTC streetcar. He proceeded with attempted to assault me in the building of my workplace. This left me traumatized for months, thank goodness I overcame my fear of riding the TTC. On the question of rent, it’s insane it actually may force some people to stay in bad situations just so they can maintain the living conditions they are accustomed to like staying in toxic relationships or terrible roommate situations…etc. I did get very lucky, moving in 2022 from living with a roommate to living on my own in a bachelor same area and really nice area in Mimico by the Lake for a rent of only $1400. Simply because my landlords are an old couple not greedy at all who prioritize having a good tenant over making extra cash but having to deal with different tenants every few months just because people cannot sustain the increase of living in Toronto plus paying their bills and rent. So there is hope, if you can find a landlord that has these values you won the lottery. I’m hoping things change for the better in Toronto, there’s no reason why the city cannot tackle all these issues in a more efficient way. But like sometimes I think of moving to a smaller city and if it weren’t for my current rent which is very low for the time we’re in, I would have moved to a cheaper province a long time ago. I agree with all of your points in this video. While I love this city and I’ve lived here all my life, there’s a lot of things I’m not happy to witness at all. Everything has gone downhill but it’s not making me want to leave T.O. I love almost everything about it but those social issues have just plagued it, even I’m not surprised so many people are moving out. I’d rather stay here and overcome those situations than move because everywhere else is so expensive Your opinions are transparent otherwise and yes, it might be the effects of post-covid. I wish things were a lot better than now but, it will just take time.

A lot of people are definitely NOT okay with working 40 hrs a week(not counting unpaid lunches) for basically pennies, only having 2 weeks per year minimum for any paid time off and having to live paycheck to paycheck just to have a roof over their heads. They probably don’t appreciate losing their jobs for trying to form unions to advocate for the slaves who can’t even afford to get their car or house fixed, while watching spoiled rich kids living in luxury online and they probably wish their government would take a stand against these corrupt, rich people.
