I'm perfectly happy with Canada and being Canadian. My business is thriving. I don't own a house (i'm 50) and probably won't. They aren't good investments and both a recession and a housing crash are necessary to lower prices. \n\nLet me say something about the housing crisis - it's not immigration. Canadians are overleveraged. Many own second, third and fourth properties that they rent out. Once they have to renew into the teeth of higher rates you'll start to see a correction like what we saw in the 1980s. Couple that with higher unemployment and you have a recipe for a crash. Everyone wants lower house prices -- until we get them. Go try to renew your 600,000k mortgage on your million-dollar house that's now worth $800,000. \n\nHealth care is a problem - but where isn't it? The UK? The US? Many parts of the US are close to third-world countries. \n\nI'm happy here. The rest of the world seems bonkers by comparison. Go ahead and leave.

Trudeau is correct...immigration is great...lots of it

I was born in Toronto and bought a house in Ajax in 2013 (before the housing market exploded). \n\nEverything you said in your video is correct. As a new comer, I know it’s hard to advance your career, make friends or buy property. \nMy son is 23 and will probably never be able to own a home and he wants to leave Canada for a better quality of life. \nRaising taxes, high rent, the failing healthcare system, and poor quality of life (plus the cold weather) are all factors that should make immigrants NOT want to come here. \n\nAs far as making friends, you hit the nail on the head. People in Canada are polite, but not friendly. I find it the same here in Toronto. You’re most likely to build friendships with people you work or go to school with. I feel we lack the sense of “community” and don’t put in as much effort to maintain friendships. \nI blame the weather for this.

Trying to be politically correct is an interesting phenomenon. It's present all across Canada...but not so much amongst immigrant populations. It seems to be primarily a thing amongst Canadians with a native history in Canada. Canadians born to immigrant families don't necessarily share in this very much.

Little off topic observation but its strange that you say you are an extreme introvert yet on video you seem super confident and outgoing. Whereas I would describe myself as the opposite, extremely social and extroverted yet too shy to film myself talking...I would stutter and be really uncomfortable.\n\nOn topic, yes we have become cold to outsiders and I think you are correct in that the climate of political correctness has essentially choked any kind of openness as we have been taught since multiculturalism was made state policy to never ask certain questions or we are racist so to er on the side of safety we just don't say anything to newcomers anymore. That would be for the young demographic of Canadians but for older Canadians it is more due to resentment and anger, the reasons you list for wanting to leave Canada have all been caused BY immigration into Canada at such high rates and so older Canadians whom never voted for these changes to our immigration policies and whose voices never get heard are mad, mad their parents were able to buy a home in Vancouver for $50k with a basic blue collar job 2 generations ago now the same house is $3 million dollars. Or that we can no longer communicate with our neighbours because non of them speak english well or that we are constantly being called racist either by implication or outright by our media, academia and government. Or that our parents were able to afford university with zero debt afterwards now you leave with $100k+ in debt and the classrooms are 80% foreigner. Our the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who have been pushed into living in tents because sky high immigration has made their home town unaffordable etc Their anger is misdirected I know that, but it is understandable and will get worse. I was born in Canada but I'm married to an immigrant, a hard-working model citizen who is loved by everyone, we have a child together and we've now decided to move back to Japan. I will not have my daughter grow up under sharia law. I'm educated enough to know what happens when we allow Islam power. They will become the majority because, they use violence to attain their goals, and Canadians are too politically correct, too afraid of being accused of being Islamophobic. As a Canadian Immigrant I can confirm everything in this video is absolutely correct. What he didn’t say is the problems have been created by Leftists within Canada. It’s fast becoming a communist country and will go the way of Venezuela if the Trudeau government isn’t removed immediately. If Trudeau gets in again we, like many others will leave Canada. Lot of educated Indians with degrees go to Canada only to do unskilled low wage jobs. They pay heavy taxes and rent and can't afford food. Living a paycheck to paycheck life. And USA is no better. They have strict anti immigration laws now. So i suggest you educated Indians to stay in India do the kind of jobd that fits your qualifications. And pay your income tax correctly. You know only 2% of Indians pay their income taxes. Tax evasion is preventing the development of India. If you love your country don't do that. It boils down to the Liberal Party, which has been in power since 2015, e.g.:\n- high immigration targets and housing/jobs/healthcare/etc can't keep up.\n- decriminalization/destigmatization of drugs (especially in Vancouver)\n- political correctness, censorship, gender ideology, health mandates, soft on some crimes but harsh on thought crimes, etc.\n\nAs for other things like weather and challenges in finding a job, these were always the case but Canada really started to go down when Trudeau became PM.\n\nI migrated with my family as a teen. Parents (engineer and nurse) couldn't find a job in their field. Mom had to start as a care aide while she re-certify as a registered nurse even though she has a masters and taught nursing in a college in the Philippines. Dad had to settle as an appliance technician.\n\nThe 4 of us lived in a single-bedroom basement suite, but we bought a half-duplex in Vancouver in a couple of years, which would be practically impossible these days.\n\nI make a decent amount niw and own 3 properties, but if I have to buy my house at its current market value ($1.9m), I can't afford it. Even that half-duplex, my parents sold it at 6x during a down market years ago.\n\nThen there's crime and drugs: I've worked in the downtown east side of Vancouver since 2006 and the last couple or so years has been really bad - it's like a zombie apocalypse. Glad I work remote and have moved to a suburb around Vancouver. That said, I'm highly considering moving but it's hard with kids and aging parents.

Canada doesn't need simplified bureaucracy or an international marketing manager to correct immigrants leaving. Canada's problem is that it's not a growing economy and skilled foreign labour coming over doesn't want to work menial jobs. Stimulate sectors, create growth, and that'll attract immigration.

100% correct assessment. I am here for last 25 years, came with family leaving a good job at early forty. It is tough for 1st generation of immigrant but good for the next generation. There is opportunity of growth and success if become a canadian professional and hard/smart work habit. My children are wel settled now. So, if you are well off in india and not ready for facing tough life initial years, then pl.dont venture ,as to have better life in canada you need canadian education and the cdn. experience. Moving blind ... I went to canada over 20 times in a course of several years. The key to make it in canada is to have the correct paper work. When i was ready to move to canada i got an immigration lawyer. I had funds and was willing to move. Lets say i didnt and ended up in europe. Canada is amazing country full of opportunities but with you the papers it will be a nighmare. There js more to this story about being stranded

Each of the things you mention are also the reason why Canadian wages are pathetic, while cost of living is on average higher then the US. There’s a surplus of skilled workers, Canada don’t really need more engineers, they just end up driving Uber.\nAlso, the country quotas sound discriminatory but they’re just common sense, and the US understood this while Canada plays the politically correct game. Obviously, if a poor country has 1.4 billion people it will soon become the main source of immigrants. This creates social tension and it’s surely not what “diversity” is about, since there is no diversity when all those crazy numbers of immigrants come from one country

Forgot to mention that it may be challenging raising the kids since it’s no longer education being taught but political correctness and white liberal theology masked as sympathetic political jargon meant to shield you from the fact that all Canadians are being turned into tax slaves by narcissistic sociopaths who believe they are saving the masses. Not entirely accurate. It's pro-wealthy immigration here in Canada absolutely. It's citizenship for sale. Not necessarily wealthy in terms of really wealthy (like Switzerland) but it's definitely citizenship for sale, so if you don't have money, don't bother. Newcomers with medical and engineering expertise can't get jobs here in Canada, in spite of our healthcare system being on the point of collapse and our supposed hi-tech push. Regulatory boards here have made it impossible. Estimates are around 175000 qualified, internationally trained doctors and nurses who gave up trying to practice here and moved into other careers. Ukrainian doctors, for eg, with extensive trauma experience and willing to staff our emergency departments have been told they have to requalify by going to Canadian medical school to retrain for at least 4 years. Same story in engineering. By IT, our government seems to mean low-paid call center IT work, moving the IT sweatshop racket from India onto Canadian soil. If you can afford to buy a business - I believe the total business investment was 500 000 pre-pandemic - that's another way in. Not sure if thats gone up now. So many of our franchise businesses are essentially being used as citizenship tickets. The big ticket item: If you can afford 4 years of postgraduate or undergrad university program, or 3 to 4 year college program - and if you don't have the cash, loan sharks in India will distribute debt across the whole family for decades so one student can go . There us a very good documentary by an Indian filmmaker on the Canadian college/University recruitment drive in India and its consequences. Several of our colleges have student enrollments at over 70% of the entire student body, direct entry from India. Additional problems like grade inflation, different education standards, and outright fraud on ESL testing also mean that Indian students are not well prepared for school here. Many do not have enough English to succeed in their studies. They either need to spend for additional tutoring, take a qualifying year or two ESL (on top of the 3 or 4 program), or fail courses. Universities and colleges keep the tuition though. Honestly our colleges and universities are staying afloat because of Indian students. They're being treated like cash cows - and Indian recruiters are scamming the system, taking fees on their end with unsuspecting students getting falsified documents, or being told they passed their ESL when they didn't. It's a national disgrace. I'm a prof here, I've seen all of this firsthand. Your data may be correct, but the narrative you've constructed for it is not the real picture.

I grew up in India and moved to Canada despite having family in the U.S. because I did not want to go through the shit show that is American immigration. That said, with the housing situation and generally how expensive things are in Canada, after 15 years, despite being a tech. worker, I decided to leave the country. I moved to Japan and despite the shrinking economy and demographic woes, I feel quite relieved to be out of the unsustainable shit show that is Canadian housing. Not to mention the weather, the absence of any dynamism in society or its culture, plus many other factors. It's been over a year now since I'm out and I frankly don't see myself going back unless there is a sustained correction in housing prices.\n\nFurthermore, I think immigrants don't understand how exploitative the Canadian economy can be towards newcomers. The problem with living in Canada vs. the U.S. is not comparable really at the level of immigration. Canadian immigration is easier but the problems of living in a smaller, less economically and culturally dynamic, more expensive, colder country never go away despite you having quickly received the opportunity to settle.

The part about the banking system is at best a half truth. Canada looked like it came through the 2008 crisis better than the States because the government did not allow a correction in the housing market. Why can’t they apply for the visas then apply for citizenship and take classes and the test like everyone immigrating to the US has to do? It’s really sad to see this happening. It’s not just the USA it’s all countries. You have to have visas if your not on vacation and sometimes if you are on vacation. Then to stay longer the visa has to be redone for a longer time. But they have to apply for citizenship and study and pass the tests. I have several friends that did it the correct way. I just want everyone to have a chance and do it right as well. We need them and entering illegally just isn’t okay.

I’m Hispanic and this shit pisses me off. My family had to grind it out and sacrifice so much to come to the United States the legal and correct way. Report and deport . Get work visas do it correctly and you cannot have kids be born in u\nS soil. Why do we have to work to pay taxes so they can come and have free medical? My parents are immigrants but never took a penny or got any help help because my parents weren't from here. As a native Venezuelan who legally immigrated to the United States, served in the Navy for 22 years, and became a U.S. Citizen, and a contributing member of society, watching this enrages me. No one has the right to come into any country illegally. I get their plight, but they still need to enter correctly. I know Venezuela's situation is terrible, but either fix it (by whatever means you have) or apply for asylum. Forcing yourself into a sovereign nation is illegal.
