I live in US but I support Canadian on this. Even Trump is looking for changes, it shouldn't have been done in this rude and abrupt way.

I think its a great way to acknowledge how unpresidential donald is... dont use his title or even last name... just donald.

It's about money. Specifically Donald Trump getting as much money as possible from this term. Putin likely told him to make sure to distance America from its allies, so that he can use the USAs military gizmos to expand his mission to take over Ukraine amd any other country he wants. All this in exchange for making him and his cronies filthy rich. Trump keeps dropping clues about the plan. Elon, created Doge to weaken the economy even further so that the USAs assest are devalued and he can officially the US oligarchy. He's been in talks with Putin, we've seen them together. So now this Trump Gold card, is a way in for more oligarchs from Russia specifically to sweep up the remaining industries at a fraction of what they used to be valued. Then the USA will be the western arm of Putins empire. Since he made sure to obliterate all friendly relationships the US had with the western world, the other countries won't do anything to help the US so as to avoid all out war. Trump will then walk off into the sunset as one of the richest, if not the richest, man on earth.

As an AMERICAN here, I want all of our neighbors to know we love you all but it is time we stop being the most visited, sold to, ridiculed, laughed at, and highest debt country in the world. What everyone forgets is that the us was the leading exporter in the world just a century ago. No one wants to destroy another country. Many people seem shocked that the US is acting this way towards its “closest ally.” Let’s not forget that in the days and weeks following 9/11, when a town like Gander, Newfoundland took in thousands of Americans when airplanes were grounded, the US was initially blaming Canada for its lax border and immigration laws in allowing terrorists into the US. They even suggested a number of the Al-Qaeda terrorists in those airplanes had entered from Canada! ? We seem to be an easy target for our ‘close’ friends sought of the border.

So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. So Canada was invited to become a state so Trump could peacefully eject the ChiComs from North America. And did you accept? No. Did you say no thank you? Gen. Wesley Clark is somebody that, i have respected for over thirty years. Even Gen. Clark has expressed his displeasure over the way the Trump administration has threatened Canada with unfair tarrif's, on US'S closest ally and neighbour. It is obvious that Putin is manipulating Trump so as to isolate the US from its traditional friends and alies, as US credibility will decline internationally. Tarrif's will bring higher prices to American manufacturers and consumers and bring higher unemployment to Americans.

As a german I can okay say wow. What a difference. That’s the way a leader of a country should speak and behave like. Not like that child and clown in the Oval Office who is so much in love with himself. Do the people of USA even have the slightest clue how the country looks like to the whole world for so many years? Amerika used to be THAT country everyone wants to go to finally see it. Trump is good a being president in many ways because he is a business man, not a politician, but in business it's about dominating the market place and your competition, bending them to your will if you can, but when you are president, you need to keep alliances with other countries, not dominate over them, otherwise you weaken your position on the world stage. When you are at the top with the biggest economy, army, you don't need to beat down those with less, you need to keep them on your side so their strength adds to your own, which is why you are at the top. Even a mafia boss won't beat down those under him, unless he wants war, and lose his position as others form alliances to take over top position as no powerful person, president, country wants to be beaten down into submission by anyone, so they create other alliances to match or overtake those at the top. In this case, Trump needs to play the politician or weaken his position, and China will be loving this as they are next in line.

We also know that there is a bigger picture in that it’s clear that Trump is aligned with Putin in the push to destroy democracy globally in favour of an authoritarian world order that benefits only the ultra rich. Canada, the Ukraine, Greenland and Panama are stepping stones to that end goal.

Remind me again why Trudeau was forced to resign? Even NY Times investigative journalists recently explained how NAFTA worked against US interests and killed so much of our industry decades ago; almost the opposite of what was intended. Trade needs to be reformed across the board. It's also insulting the way other world leaders are now speaking directly to the American Public and lying to them as if they have our best interest in mind. World leaders are elected to defend the interests of their own people, many times they just look out for their own personal interest, but they are definitely not looking out for American interest. It is up to us. The world stage is a complicated transaction of this for that. That's life. Have you all forgot playing United Nations in high school? Trade needs to be renegotiated from significantly benefiting every other country but USA. Trump is trying to do that.

I have so much respect for the Canadians! You do what you have to do to protect your country, it used to be the American way too! Not one American can blame you for protecting yourself even if it is going to hurt. I would rather be hurt by someone trying to defend their sovereignty than to be hurt by a damn bully who took an oath to protect us and yet has no desire to do so.

I think Americans are going to have to learn the hard way that we voted in a terrible man who is even more unrestrained than the first time. The best outcome of this lose-lose situation for Republican voters is to feel the financial pain of Trump's actions. Maybe it can disillusion his cult following of heedlessly surrendering their voting power to him. With enough opposition pressured on Republicans in Congress, they may finally find a backbone and stand up for all Americans while the Democrats twiddle their thumbs.

Looks like Trump FAILED another one of his campaign promises again. He said he wouldn't start any new wars. Well, he just did. It's called TRADE WARS with countries by way of tariffs. I used to be a huge fan of America. I truly believed it was the world’s policeman, the guiding force for justice and freedom. I looked up to the country, admiring its strength, its values, and the way it stood for what was right. I even wished my own country could be more like that. \n\nBut America is no longer what it once was. It’s heartbreaking to see how a once-free and hopeful nation has transformed into something so divided, hostile, and unpredictable. A country that once stood by its friends now turns its back on them. A nation that once fought for unity now thrives on division and conflict. \n\nThere are still many good people in America, and the country is not beyond hope. But deep down, every American must realize—this is not the right path. This is not who you are meant to be. \n\nWake up before it’s too late.

In truth Kamala Harris won, but cheating through vote suppression enabled Donald Trump to become president. Even so, had the election not been close, Trump would never have been president again. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

Trump is slowly going to destabilise the USA deliberately in order to bring on a civil war & uprising so that he can involve the military to help him control the country by force. Mark my words that's his grand plan at home, he wants total control. Don't let him win if this happens. He wants an authetarian state similar to Russia, him & Musk, vance. Then he will try and take Greenland or even Canada, he will try to wind his supporters up into a frenzied in some way or form to basically pick a fight. With a military style rule over the USA he will then start to invade his neighbours or any other mineral rich nation. This is the worst possibility God bless it never materialises.

We all have to suffer through this inflation because our government couldn't figure out a better way to get what they wanted. Speaking of that, I'm not even sure what they want anymore. We know that our president is a frigging idiot, but the fact he *noticeably* drops his language grade level when “talking directly to” Trump and says “we’ve done *big things*” twice and calls him a “very smart guy” and pulls it into a schoolyard metaphor of “two friends fighting.”\n\nI couldn’t wrap my head around how we got saddled with this joke of a human in 2016. \nCouldn’t fathom how it was close in 2020.\nWant to vomit every day that we allowed this deep, unchecked harm to befall us, our allies, and the entire world. \n\nI keep wanting to just wake up.\nI feel so insane that we seem to have literally no power to stop this, and that the *entirety* of the GOP is completely fine with this. Canada is also our closest leech. By all rights you shouldnt even be an independent country. You're the second biggest country in the world, you have the 28th largest military. Your entire population is barely over that of california. You're economy is borderline pathetic, and your government is even worse. Kick this Trudeau clown to the curb and get a better PM. As far as im concerned any free nation that limits speech and rights the way canada does is simply not free. We would gladly take everyone west of Winnipeg and accept you into the USA. But Quebec and Ontario can piss right off.

I dont get it why the Americans think that we should even have to spend as much as they do on military...the whole world literally despises them and is actively trying to think of a way to attack them, but it is a much different story when it comes to Canada. Im pretty sure 911 was an attack on United States, an event that Canada did not have to involve itself with, but guess what? We did. We lost our own brave countrymen and women in order to come to the aid of the United States. Maybe the next time they want help they should look elsewhere. We were also there fighting in world war 2 way before the Americans decided to show up as well.

Even though we as Americans might disagree with President Trump, we have to stand firm on some things here, the way PM Trudeau came on here and reversed this tariffs on the US after all we done with this is still an attack on us, we have to think broader and wider, I am a 22 year retired Navy vet and seen how these countries treat us and we have been taken advantage of, it’s time we stand firm. I love my Canadian brothers and sisters, but this more a government issue here.

Americans are the ones who advocates this rampant Fentanyl use and doctors are cohorts to this uncalled for epidemic, by left and right prescription of pain relievers and drugs to combat mental anguished and debilitating social problems. Latinos and Asians are naturally resilient and has stronger faith in the almighty which help them keep sane even in worsts times and in crisis.
