Canada, the American people don't want this and a lot of Trump supporters didn't want this either. I'm sorry that y'all too have to suffer and deal with a man that doesn't lead your country. Believe me I would swap with y'all tomorrow. \n\nIt's amazing how Canada came up with how many billions for border patrol but we can't get Congress to pass a bill. President Biden tried to get a bill through Congress within his first 100 days and they wouldn't pass it then either. We have scanners sitting at the Mexican Border that will detect Fentanyl but Congress would approve using them either. Everyone needs to find out how their Representative voted on that bill and make sure they are not in office next time. \n\nI don't know how this man got elected but I feel like Musk and Starlink helped him win. I just heard that Starlink is what was used to send the results in the swing states. Musk told someone an hour before polls closed that Trump was the winner, with his evil laugh and let's not forget Trump telling his supporters that they didn't need to vote cause he will win without them. That's fishy. \n\n\nY'all what do we do if he won't leave office? What do we do then? I know he just got in the White House but it's never too early to have a plan to get him out. They worked on Project 2025 for 4 years and now it's all falling into place. OMG! What are we going to do?

And other charges loke trespassing on a federal building, and theft charges for stealing laptops and all sorts of things.\nDonald Trumps first act was to free all of them with a wave of a pen... he freed police bashers!!! But the imbalance has to stop.\n\nSame with Mexico, trading balance with Mexico is almost $200 billion in favor of Mexico. The imbalance has to stop. \n\nThe US economy is bleeding by trading with allies and partners, it’s fighting for its financial wellbeing. It is not some bs from the orange man, it is real.\n\nOf course Canada, Mexico, Europe and others want business as usual… and why wouldn’t they? ?

Not all Americans are with Trump or Putin. Many of us stand with Mexico, Canada, and Europe. Americans love their country, but many Americans are hurting and suffering and feel let down by our government. It's a circus now. We are sick and tired of the high cost of taxes, food, gas, housing, and now these tariff's that are only going to hurt Americans more.

As a European I stand with Canada. I lived in the Us and many Americans are wonderful. However this administration has lost its values and soul. Canada and the E.U should work together closely. And why not join the E.U? Our values are the same. And We must be united against he great imperialists threats coming from Russia and, now, America. \nAs a consumer I decided to boycott American products whenever possible. I had planned to travel to America on vacation but I will cancel that for the next 4 years at least. I hope many will join us in the “boycott American products” movement?

Don't buy Canadian Bacon, Maple Syrup and other Canadian goods. Canada is NOT the closest ally of the US and has long in fact been like the Karen nation of North America who is massively passive aggressive to the US, and outright hatred for the US is rampant among many Canadians. 25 percent 155 billion which is dwarfed by the trade imbalance of the many billions more of Canadian goods that go to the US, mostly it is American Alcohol that goes to Canada, to fuel the drunks of Canadian society, so Homeless alcoholics in Canada might truly suffer. How is more sobriety a bad thing Trudeau? This might be fantastic for people who drink alcohol to make a break with the booze they have been needing. \n\nThe rest of us, who don't buy Canadian goods nor own or invest in American alcohol won't feel anything. In fact we pay more for mailing stuff to Canada from the Canadian postal service. \n\nWe learned not to mail stuff to Canada. We are ok now living with that limitation.

I'm from the UK and I am very impressed with the Canadian Prime Minister's response, what a contrast from the felon in the White House. I have been researching which Canadian products are available here and will be switching to them and away from U.S products. And to ordinary Americans who are as disgusted by their leadership as so many of us around the world are, I hope you will be able to reclaim your country back from Trump and MAGA who are doing so much harm to you.

Canadian here. Wake up Canadians. Many people are praising Trudeau for this speech. Don't. He is out as Liberal leader within the week. He doesn't have to follow through on anything he said. Plus, he just stated that he's smart enough to suggest that Trump just put a 25% tax on Canadian goods for Americans but he also thinks that you are dumb enough not to realize that he just put a 25% tax on Canadians for American goods. Trudeau basically created the situation for these tariffs (open border to let anyone come here). He loves this as he gets to take the apparent moral high ground for the first time in his life and wants this speech to be the way he is remembered rather than years of failing Canada. Many people seem shocked that the US is acting this way towards its “closest ally.” Let’s not forget that in the days and weeks following 9/11, when a town like Gander, Newfoundland took in thousands of Americans when airplanes were grounded, the US was initially blaming Canada for its lax border and immigration laws in allowing terrorists into the US. Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

I am American independent voter who vote against Treasonous Trump this past election of 2024 in favor of Kamala Harris. While many of my fellow Americans voted for Trump many others like me did not. Trump's going to bankrupt the U.S. just as he has many of his businesses. As an American, I can't wait to move up to Canada. I'm absolutely embarrassed to be a born and raised American citizen. I'm embarrassed and ashamed by many other fellow citizens and by the choices the current government is making. I'm also continually perplexed and ashamed by the continued mistakes our country continues to make every damn year and decade.

The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children. We have entire countries we could fill with the homeless and incarcerated, and veterans who see little to no positive treatment or respect within the job market. Things are already very very bad here in the states. I don't think many Americans realize how bad the economy is. Tariffs will force US companies to reduce the outsourcing of jobs, and force other countries who are over-reliant on trade from the States, to cultivate their own self-sufficiency. This may seem hypocritical when it comes to China, but that isn't a problem you can solve overnight. \n\nTo make it clear, Americans are going to suffer in the wake of this tariff decision, but that is the price we pay to force ourselves to change. We have made ourselves into a very weak country because of overreliance on other countries trade, and other countries overreliance on our intelligence, infrastructure, medical advancements, technological advancements, and defense capabilities. The american consumer and taxpayer front the bills for all of this, and they are suffering. This isn't a war on the rest of the world. It us telling everyone else that we can no longer be relied upon because we are weak. \n\nI didnt' even vote Trump the first two times he ran. But things have now gotten so bad that I was forced into voting for him this time. Why? Because he's a bull in a china shop. I expect him to tear every damn thing apart he can within our government. I want everything destroyed so it can be rebuilt by people who aren't complacent.

Trump is a horrible, horrible human. I am devastated over what he is doing. I've never once given Trump my vote and I'm not a lefty liberal. I knew if he was voted in he was going to cause world wide chaos. He has shown his character over and over and over...yet a large portion of American's just ignored it. This election wasn't about republicans or democrats or independents. This election was about humanity and global security. American's ignored the writing on the wall for their own singular wants/opinions. They stand with their Trump flags but only a few of them can actually explain any accurate information about his policy or legal issues and they condone his behavior. The majority of Trumpers claim to be 'Christians'. Christians voting for a man who is a bully, abuser, liar, predator, monger of power, impedes freedom of press and speech and aligns himself with a dictator. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. Yet many of you still believed the better choice was a psychopath. This election was important. We failed as a country by putting this man in office. No matter what party you align with, we failed. Yes, I want cheaper eggs. Yes, I really need cheaper groceries. But not over the safety of the globe. Not over the lives of the people and children being killed in an unprovoked war. Not over the safety of Europe. Not over ripping off our closest and favorite country that borders us. Not over losing our democracy and our allies. I stand with Ukraine, Canada, Mexico and Europe and the Gulf of Mexico. You should ask yourself what you really stand for.
