I'm a US citizen living in Honduras. I'm sorry, because this is unrelated, but I want to let people know..... Today I was condemned to fight cancer alone. When my cancer was discovered for the first time, it was because I had seizures. Because of this, I can't drive. Because I can't drive, I can't get a decent job in The US. For a spousal visa, you need to have a certain amount of money. I don't have it. No matter that we have it together - being the citizen, that responsibility is solely on me. A humanitarian visa is $730, and only good for one use. We can't afford that. We went for a tourist visa, with a emergency appointment. They approved the emergency appointment, then promptly denied my husband's visa, without even asking him WHY he wanted to go to The US. Fighting cancer alone is exhausting. Why is that not a good enough reason for my husband to go to The US with me? Only for my appointments. Why is that not good enough? I guess he'll meet my family at my funeral, but not before.

It really isn't a difficult matter to solve. 1) Get the actual border under control. 2) Tell Mexico; and demonstrate it to them if necessary, that you'll close the border entirely if they don't get a grip on their own southern border. The result = Poof, goes the Mexican economy. 3) Round up the criminals.\n\nDo those 3 things and you'll bring some sanity back into the system which is all anyone really wants. It won't mean 11M get deported; perhaps 1-2M at most, but if there's a sense of order again, I can't see anyone caring. Then we can talk about a possible path to citizenship for the rest.

And another thing she don't realize is. They don't just come to your house and say okay. You guys get together and get your stuff. We're gonna put you in a bus and take you back to the border. No, they violently arrest you like your criminal. And throw you in jail for months sometimes years at a time waiting to be deported. And if you think you'll all be deported at once, you got another thing coming. The man might go and jump. The woman might go in July. The kids might go separately next year. If you don't believe me. I saw it with my own eyes in 2019. I was locked up in Colorado. I watched them raid construction sites hospitals. Numerous other businesses arresting hard work in Mexican people. Imagine all the nurses and workers at hospitals that are from other countries. I watched them arresting nurses. Arresting tab drivers Uber drivers. I watched them raid schools and arrest children. I watched them put these poor people in jails with real criminals. All the immigrants loved me. I was actually in a federal and ICE facility. So I literally saw all of the immigrants. I protected them from the racist white people. I'm from Tampa Florida, so I'm used to the jails and prisons being majority, black guys. But in Colorado, it's white supremace, gangs and Mexican gangs. What's even more sickening? Is people from Washington would come in and take some of the Indians out. And when they came back, I would ask them questions and they said that the government people would get information on their family back in India and see if they could pay 50k to stay in America. It was sickening. I found out that what they were doing was deporting. Poor people and the people that have money back in their country. They have their families send money and let them stay. I saw it with my own eyes.

I lived in Vancouver BC for the past 35 years, and I can confidently say I'm getting more poor every year, at this rate I'll be just like those retirees living on the streets with the drug addicts. It's very depressing here with no hope in sight.

Anyone reading this that is planning on crossing the border. I'm gonna be frank with ya. Aside from the fact that you probably shouldn't be trying to circumvent our laws just to avoid a situation you don't like in the USA right now... you also shouldn't be trying to cross our border in what is becoming our winter season. \n\nThere are plenty who try, and many do meet a grim fate due to the elements they are just not prepared for. And if you get out of that, you still have to somehow get warm again. But let's say you avoid that, what then? Well, we have these really cold biting winds that make the -30 temps feel like -40 or worse. But you came prepared, so let's say you can handle that for a bit. Well, you sweat. You will get damp, then wet, over time. Then your fancy clothing doesn't do much for you anymore. Ya dig?\n\nOh but wait, there's more. So we have this wildlife eh', and it likes to do this thing that wild life does... and it eats you. Coyotes are one such kind of wildlife. Bears are another. Both are prolific in certain areas, all the way down to the border in some cases. \n\nGranted, coyotes usually aren't a huge problem for us up here, but that's cause we know how to deal with them usually. Bears are another issue, that even we have problems with at times. You'll probably run into a black bear if you run into one. Grizzlies tend to be further north and to the west. You're gone too far somehow if you find Polar bears. \n\nThere are other critters to mention, but they're more active in the summer, like rattle snakes. (Yes, we have them)\n\nOkay, so you got past the border, and you actually somehow managed to survive the winter temps in your trek to some sort of civilization. Now you have to somehow find a place to live. This is of course assuming you decided to try to bypass all our border security of course. You could go to an embassy and declare asylum I guess. But right now, you're more likely to be given a ticket back to where you came from initially. So that's not something in the game plan for you. What then?\n\nWelcome to being homeless. Oh, and you're still having to deal with our winter temperatures. \n\nSuffice to say, right now is not a good time to be trying to ignore our laws just to do whatever you want. Consider this a fair warning, as this about all the F's I have to give over it all in regards to your safety. This is disheartening... this means that my husband will never be able to live with us. My children will grow up without their father, and for some reason, Canadians are OK with Canadian children growing up in a broken home. It's going to take 35 months, for my husband to be able to immigrate to this country. That's 2 1/2 year that my kids won't have a dad, our son especially is suffering. He has a serious disease, is often hospitalized, and I'm a married woman living as a single mother. Now I'll need to rely on the government for more financial support, and my 6 year old is actually depressed because his dad is years away from being with him. I work full time, have a great home, and a side business. But now I'll need to depend on meds and disability support to take care of my child, when he has an ablebodied father that can support us, especially when our child is in one of his regular hospitalization. You all are cruel.

I work for an Canadian Indian trucking company in Texas and I have to say Indians are some of the most racist people I've ever met. I've lived here 6 years and can't wait to leave. Salaries are just enough to get by. I work full-time as an analyst and am looking for a minijob just to save money, which I already live quite modestly. It's easy to come across nasty unfriendly people, neighbors, service people, people in government agencies. I hate people staring in the most unfriendly manner or givng attitude for no reason other than they are nasty people. Don't get me wrong, there are nice people as well, but the bad experiences outweigh the good. Beauracracy is overbearing, personalities are underwhelming, the food scene is underwhelming, learning German is a big burden when you work a full-time job (and now I need a minijob too??). The country seems like it wants to diminish the human spirit and ambition. I definitely regret moving here. Many housing companies are over charging rent. I found out the company, Deutschewohnen, who owns my apartment was overcharging me by nearly double!! I had to go through a year long court procession to get them to lower it to the legal price which I won. And now they sent me a letter last month saying they are raising my rent, which is illegal and I have to go through ANOTHER court battle with them. Of course it is exhausting to try and find another apartment. Some people search up to a year. What a joke. And not to mention the dating scene. I've been single the entire 6 years and I'm quite an outgoing, friendly, loveable person. Dating Germans comes with own weird experiences and I refuse to give them a chance anymore, for my own mental health. If you're POC, it's not uncommon to come across strange sexualizations and general lack of understanding other's cultures. A couple years ago I was attacked by 8 men while walking home at night. I ended up in the hosopital and there was an investigation opened. The police asked me why they attacted me, which I didn't know since it was unprovoked. They just followed me for awhile, surrounded me and started beating me. The police said it was probably because I'm Asian. Meanwhile, I'm not even Asian!!! I'm Latino. ??‍♂This is the type of ignorance POC have to deal with in Germany. Also, I only have 1 German friend and all my other friends are immigrants (which I love) but this poses it's own frustrations because many people move here, then move away after a few years when they learn they can have a more fulfilling life elsewhere. So keeping long term day-to-day friends can be a challenge. The entire system is exhausting and there's not enough balance to bring joy to my life to want to stay. When I lived in NYC, an African American aquaintance had just moved there after living in Berlin for 8 years. She warned me not to move here because I will never feel I belong. I didn't listen. That was a big mistake. Germans can have Germany. I'll find my joy elsewhere. End of rant. haha

After the COVID outbreak, II quit my job and traveled all around the world, including 1yr staying in Toronto. I’m Ukrainian, and I came to Canada in 2024 through the CUAET program. I work remotely for a U.S. company, but it feels impossible to survive here with my current salary. If I stay longer than six months, I’ll have to pay taxes, which would leave me struggling to afford rent and basic necessities like food. I’ve never seen bread and eggs as expensive as they are here, not even in Paris, one of the most tourist-visited cities in the world, where prices are much lower than in Canadian supermarkets. It doesn’t feel like Canada offers me protection—instead, it feels like a vacuum that’s draining all my savings. Before 2022, in Kyiv, I lived a far better life than the average Canadian today, with my own apartment, car, and the ability to travel wherever I wanted for vacations.\nSo I leave in October while I have some money yet. I am so thankful I have Greek and Macedonian citizenship. As soon as I'm done with my education, I'm moving back to Greece or Macedonia, somewhere there are hardly any Indians. I literally get lucky to see 4-5 white, black, or latinos a day in my city, the rest are all Indian, Pakistani, and Arabs. I don't feel like I'm living in Canada anymore, I feel like I'm living in the Middle-East. I only have 2 more years of university and then if I don't go to Greece or Macedonia, it'll be because there's too many Middle-Easterners there too, and I will go someplace like Korea or Vietnam, where there are practically no Middle-Eastern people. Sorry, but you're right about them being rude, and they act like they're entitled to everything. It's disgusting and I've had enough. The problem will only get worse even if we shutdown immigration, because there are so many here already, and they don't have kids, they have litters of 5-10 children per family. Soon the whole country will just be Middle-Eastern, just give it a few decades. If you can get out of Canada and go someplace else, I suggest you do now, before it's too late.

There isnt much to see anyway...\n\nImmigrants from Punjab region were encouraged for a long time against all others for a long time... The second and third generation of them are politically active and strong. All they care about is Khalistan and nothing else and they're close to realising it first in Canada. The only reason for me to choose Germany is ability to get residence permission in 3 or 5 years and keep original citizenship (I need 5 because I'm pretty sure I will not get C1 for 3 years). In terms of salary (I'm working in IT and have a 18+ years experience) I'd loose about 20% comparing to my original country, but living cost here +100% ))\nSo, we spent with my wife about 18k euros of our savings per year and started everything from scratch - it is hard but possible.\nHope I'll increase my salary later and we will not spend a lot on furnitures, appliences etc.\n+1 benefit: cycling all year round - almost no snow - Perfect!\nI didn't have problems with language in Dusseldorf - 90% speaks english, 10% or even more - russian (shops, banks, tax centers, burgerburo - no problems)

How are these people allowed to live for free in someone else's property? Lived in the US for 4 years and bought 5 rental properties in my home country. Now I'm retired at the age of 34. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am now building a business and want to expand to Canada for my actual retirement. The US is great to work but when it's time to settle down I'd rather choose a slower country.\n\nBut tbh it can also be achieved in a good republican state in the US but I am assuming there will be a civil war there with all the woke ridiculous stuff happening there.
