For licensed doctors I would think that the 4 years would be a snap if you already know the material but beside that , if they went back because they could work in their field in there home country then why did they come here in the first place. Obviously it wasn't violence or fear for their lives.\n If they come here and enjoy the first years but then the reality kicks in when the benefits stop that they may have to work for minimum wage and they now know that a person making minimum wage in Canada is makes you homeless, can't afford a car or the gas, insurance and can only buy food , that they realize that they were better off where they were. It;s time our government informed these people of the harsh reality of how our governments have allowed our once great country to become place where it;s citizens suffer under these financially inadequate conditions that are only made worse by immigration numbers that far exceed our ability to house them. Maybe have them try to support themselves on the income they would get here while they are still in their country, or if it made a condition that our government must prove that they can sustain themselves with minimum wage before they can immigrate then immigration would be denied because heaven help them if minimum wage isn't enough because welfare/odsp is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

I am Canadian and a lot of the people I know that are under 30 and especially under 25 are only employed part time (due to lack of work) and still live with parents. I feel it will lead to lots of social issues in future as they are not gaining experience in fields that are valuable while never making enough to live on their own. The high competition and lack of career opportunities will just lead to brain drain. What will be left is a large welfare problem and skilled worker problem as anyone will skills will jump ship. This is a reaction to the potential loss of their student visas, not some jumping the queue scheme. The changes in the student visa system has created this temporary panic. A student who is in second or third year has already spent a lot of money to get an education and then lose that money and not have a degree. The years and money would be lost, then they would have to go through the process again in other country has caused this. Many of these student will remain as students and get their degrees and go home as they have in the past. Our university have had foreign students forever and it has worked. The anti-immigrant trolls should be ashamed. We are all immigrants here, unless we are aboriginal so we shouldn't point fingers. People are coming to Canada because it is their best chance for a future. Your ancestors though so too.

I am an Indian studying abroad and we had our international study tour to Germany. Before our tour we had a cultural briefing session where they made us aware about the cultural norms especially about Hitler. The Prof. who conducted the briefing sessions specifically told us NOT to mention anything about Hitler. Despite this session, I remember one Indian, when we we had our time off in Germany after lectures, this Indian in the middle of the road went and did the famous Hitler pose. And I was embarrassed to the core. On top of this when I tried to intervene the person was laughing and jokingly said ' See nothing happened to me the Prof. was wrong'. I felt like I should sink or just go and jump in nearby river. This was so embarrassing No wonder people don't like Indians. Additionally, Indians who are following all rules and regulations also gets branded like being obnoxious.

If the situation was reversed, we were living in an impoverished country and were invited to immigrate to another country with better opportunities, I know damn well Canadians would jump at it, so I can't blame Indians for coming here. The fault lies squarely on Trudeau for bringing in more immigrants than Canada's population can handle and even more so, not providing housing driving housing prices and rents up. As far as pooping on the beach goes, I am sorry, where there is smoke there is usually fire and as even bleeding heart Liberals have claimed, it is acceptable in India, so pretty good chance someone took liberties here. As far as I am concerned, if you choose to immigrate to a country, you should follow it's laws. It may have just been one or two Indians who did, but as ambassadors of your country, you are responsible for people's perception of you and hatred directed towards your people as a result of your actions is your responsibility, not our fault.

I am an immigrant essentially - finally got my PR after 3 years in 2012 (on a skilled worker application - IT Systems Manager), 10k in lawyers fees - I took exams to prove I can write read and speak English - I maintained a decent level of fitness to pass my medical (cost more money in gym memberships) (I was born and bred in the UK and privately educated there) I bought a house before I was a PR - I had to jump through hoops and I played by the rules to get my PR (I am now a citizen) - I do not understand how these people think that they can just demand what I had to work so very hard to achieve...?

As a tourist to Canada I noticed a big culture clash. While Canadians over use the word “sorry,” Indians did not think twice about jumping ahead of a line and pushing people away to make space for their own family — even before that family arrives. Indians have a great and ancient civilization, but that is not an excuse for disrespecting the Canadian one.

Nothing wrong with foreign workers but allowing workers from one central area of the world was really stupid. It’s now breeding resentment, racisms and hate which is unfortunate. However, this country experienced a severe shortage of workers after Covid, Canadians were not jumping to return to work to face low paying, low end employment. But, this was not the answer. At the very least, immigration should have been balanced across many world communities. But it wasn’t, only South East Asians were permitted in via this advance scream. All international students must leave after they finish their study. If they want to become a migrant, they must apply through the normal channel, they cannot jump the queue just because they've been an international student.

It's all fine and well that you want to leave Canada but where will you go that's any better? After all it is your choice. The problems we see happening around the world are a global problem. There are at least 2 major wars going on. Inflation is rampant in most countries in the world and we ARE heading for a global economic depression that will dwarf anything that we've seen in the 1930's. Speaking for myself my roots are here in Canada which is not the Canada I grew up in anymore. Sadly. Used to be a really great place to live until Trudeau and his band of thieves ruined it. I may as well make my last stand here. If I was going to move where would I go. The EU? Absolutely not! They're tanking. America? No effing way! The American empire is collapsing. Along with the FED note. South America? Don't think so. Most S. American countries are iffy at best. Australia? No. They're nuts. New Zealand? No. They're struggling badly and people are leaving there in droves. Africa? No way in hell. So that doesn't leave very much. Antarctica? Little on the cold side. Few amenities. ;) May as well stay where I am and take my chances. Better the devil I know than the one I don't. If you're serious about moving out of Canada be sure to do your due diligence and research about your target country. Grass always looks greener on the other side but many times isn't once you get there. One place that I AM attracted to is the Azores. Beautiful place. Friendly people. Good climate. One drawback is that I don't speak Portuguese. And I would have to be independently wealthy. After a certain amount of time out of the country I would lose my Canadian pension. It's said that where we are is where we're supposed to be. I may as well take my chances, make the best of a crappy situation and stay here. There really is no better or worse place than Canada. The LIberals won't be in power forever and if people have the smallest amount of sense, so few will vote for them in the next election that the Liberals will lose party status. I was born in Ottawa. Over the course of my 45 years I have watched the country become progressively worse the entire time I've been alive. I don't begrudge anyone jumping for their lives at this point. My only wish is that everyone in the world acknowledge that the only thing that makes Canada a horrible place to be is the government, or at least the government for the past 45 years.

Born in Canada .. and like many Canadians I saw Canada go from bad to a disaster with no future in 3 short years. According to 'Statistica' between 2020-21 there were 236K immigrants, a lower than normal figure, which had probably averaged around 250K pa this century. The highest had been 2015-16 when it was 323K. Jump to 2021-22 and it is 493K immigrants, the next year almost 467K. Clearly unsustainable.

Legal immigration sir, not accepting economic opportunists who mascarade as refugees and who jump the queue for subsized housing ,get free medical care etc at our expense. We can't keep paying for this.

Who would be against immigrants who obeyed immigration laws, followed every legal steps and waited patiently, then worked hard and honestly after they came, and became a decent and respectful citizen? Having baby’s that will contribute to Canada is a long slow process. Immigration is and should be a way to fine tune the amount of people contributing in real time to better stabilize the economy. Too many immigration loopholes ,scams and boarder jumping with liberal ideology turning a blind eye and incompetent governmental oversight is making life for Canadians worse.

The tenants have all the leverage. It takes 6 to 8 months just to get a hearing. They jump from one unit to another without paying much rent.

This is criminal...two sides of the story here i can assume...but both sides are at fault...the tenant is a criminal and the landlord should have done more...put pressure on the landlord and tenants court...the landlord and tenants organization is a joke...no one takes them serious because they have a huge back load of court cases is not an excuse...the government wants more housing with out properly funding the courts and they are costing owners money 3 fold. It's a systematic virus...these figures these landlords quoted do not even include the damage the location has after the entitled criminal tenant leaves behind. Also this is not a mental heath issue, its just a plain purposely planned out criminal act. If they are criminally charged and convicted i am sure they will be comfortable in a 10 X 8 cell for 2 years with free rent, utilities and 3 square meals a day. Ford never takes in account possible issues that can arise he jumps into a project and never considers the side effects...maybe in heart he is a PC but he acts like a Liberal. They need the back log dealt with and a special team to police this industry.

We need services, housing, infrastructure. All this privatization and neoliberal (not the same as liberal) approaches which remove the system social safety net this is the outcome. Hating on immigrants is not where our minds need to go, looking at many of the issues outlined in this video is an important perspective to consider. It is policy that needs rethinking. And if you think Pierre or the Conservatives have the answers, unfortunately they do not, Pierre jusr jumps on the populist far right bandwagon, without talking frankly about some of the issues outlined in the video or in my commentary. We need new bold solutions. Practical immigration policies can play a part, but without addressing housing affordability as well as stagnant polarized wages and a lack of opportunities and upward mobility for millennials and immigrants, nothing will change.

When I came to Canada as student 10 years ago I \n- never planned to work part time when I was in school. I only made the move when I had enough money to live and thrive without off campus jump\n- I am SHOCKED when people say they aren’t prepared. Where is google buddy. \n- I was planned enough to not take up any low skilled jobs. Today I earn in 6 digits. \n- As immigrants we need to also accept Canadian values and not bring our crazy practices from back home. Grow up buddies.
