********Important**********************Since I've been living in Canada for more than two years, the immigration protests you mentioned have occurred. To put it briefly, everyone moves to different provinces for PR, just like I did when I studied in Toronto for two years. The CRS score for PR is significantly higher there, and there aren't as many easy possibilities, therefore students there relocate. The protest is taking place in Prince Edward Island, where I moved a few months ago. They are protesting for the extension of their work permit and the opening of those easy PR draws, which are currently paused. I moved here in order to obtain PR, but I worry that this protest is inappropriate. Because everyone must submit a statement of purpose (SOP) when applying for a visa to Canada, and in that statement you clearly indicate that you will return to your home country after completing your studies and working there. However, if this statement is not clear, the visa officer may reject your application, stating that they believe you will not return home after completing your studies and working there. In order to avoid having our visa applications denied, we always attempt to assure the officer that we will return home. You have no right to request a PR, an extension of your work visa, or anything else if you have made this statement of purpose plain on your own. If you're thinking about moving to Canada, always make sure that the government is in charge. When I planned, getting our PR was simple, and now that they've changed the laws and regulations, they have rights as immigrants, so nobody should fight against getting PR and a work visa, etc.

As a Filipino watching the economy of USA from afar, I think that no other politician has shown significant concern to help its economy except for Trump. He's pretty bold and not scared to voice out issues that make the democrats uncomfortable. It is not for me to decide who others will vote. However, I see a leader in Trump and he's not afraid to fight back. It's only a matter of time for the Chinese to create its own microchips that are of novelty and prestige. Their economy is of course stagnant as of the moment because many foreign companies pulled out from China. Nevertheless, do you think it's going to be forever? They will cope and soon establish theirs given their population and government financial backing. Trump was right to put trade war against them to regulate foreign trade as it did with Japan. All countries will suffer when the dollar loses the international prestige. It is fastly losing it's international reputation as of these days. If this won't halt, imagine a future where the Chinese RMB will be the basis of international trade. You don't know the real plan of the Silk Road guys. Americans are conquerors and we have adjusted with their ways already. And, the Chinese are conquerors as well. Their goal is to really surpass the USA. The rise of China has benefited every ASEAN member, but greatly the former than the latter. We can adjust with their ways. However, America and Europe may not be that ready to adjust their ways for them should they surpass USA. The USA has become complacent and too liberal where individual rights, although important, have gone too far-fetched. This has created entitled individuals who think they own the world. Now, look at the Chinese. While most young Americans are busy dancing in TikTok and the likes of wasting time for entertainment, most young Chinese are studying hard and upskilling. Let's remember that America became great because of its inventions and extremely the nuclear power. Without great minds, minds that are feebled by drugs and misguided philosophies, a society will crumble. USA can use its weapons and influences against other countries, but can it hold the progress of it's rival economy for the rest of the years? You guys need a leader who is competitive and won't back down from a fight. As of these days, given only two political candidates to choose for presidency, I dare say that Trump has a higher bidding for the goodness of USA. Of course he wasn't able to accomplish his plan before after you guys impeached him. How the hell can a leader complete its plan after being halted unprecedentedly amid his administration? Kamala Harris looks promising but not convincing. Aura, although unquantifiable, do speak something. Choose your leader and it will choose your fate. Let's hear what the two sides will share this upcoming debate. If I'm American, whoever wins that debate, wins my heart. As easy as that. You see, if someone can be defeated so easily in his or her country through debate, do you think that whoever that someone who wins will be able to compete globally? Think of the likes of Putin and Xi Jinping. Think of a leader who can communicate with them effectively. That's all for me. Thank you

Depending on what Trump and Harris both say about this will decide how I vote. This is a threat to national security and is an invasion against citizen rights. I'm a moderate Democrat but Im an American CITIZEN first. And Americans safety and way of life is the most important thing to think about come November.

Old mother India has out spawned its own pond..Its country CANNOT and DOES not offer a future to its people. Thats a failure by any normal standards. What gets me is, just how many millions have just arrived in other countries in the world. Their numbers and communities exported and imported so solidly everywhere. Within 2 years here in the uk, I am sure there are now, somehow more Indians here than ALL the other groups put together. Its astounding to see the indigenous and others be outnumbered by one group (south Asian continentals) in such s sudden and impactful way. With these movements Politics change, voter types, the , the shared future vision, shared cultural norms, etc resources like public transport trains, rosd traffic, shops, hospitals, public spaces are jam packed overall. No more quiet or isolated spaces, just 24hr pushing, shoving, shouting, mobile phone worship and loud speaker, conference video calling (my God this one grates my soul) destroys the respectful unspoken social and shared rule of EVERYONE else somehow, its insane! The place has no time or space to think. Blink and your place has gone. In every sense: social opportunities, place in queues job opportunities(as they set up internal networks that u are excluded from) aka as smugglers and their smuggled, housing bidding, corrupting of housing laws, benefit fraud all massive problems for local authorities and larger government overall. Under clearer terms and better conditions and planning Im with migration as a theme. Mass intinction to enable mass migration lol maybe less so!! Good luck to us all, we need it. This is the main issue in Canada. We are stuck in so many ways. Our economy is the worst in the G7, so we need to mass import migrants to artificially increase our GDP. But with that, our cost of living will artificially stay high from the increased demand on the housing. All while suppressing wages. All while our government refuses to increase our key natural exports, like crude oil, or nuclear materials. We really are in shambles. Really we need to rip the band aid off, and pause all migration from india for the next five years, not even allowing chain migration. Maintain a manageable rate of legal migration (the US normally has 1 million migrants a year as a high, to a population of 300 million). While getting our pipelines built. Stop the woke shit that is destroying us. Right now every housing project requires an 18 month pause to make sure that the native lands are recognized through a corrupt archeological study (ever since the residential school mass grave hoax). Build houses like crazy, allowing for one additional farm land residential severance. And then stop the regulatory suppression from the federal government on corporations. We have zero money being invested into Canada and it will lead to us having a worse economic outlook than Mexico in less than ten years. Imagine the world thinking of Canada as a third world country. That's where we are heading without some serious shift in how we approach our policy.

I was really lucky to visit Toronto in 2000-2002 and practice some Portuguese and Italian. The first time, I came by train from Chicago and arrived at 1 AM. I was scared as I waited for the trolley on Dundas St. But to my surprise there was a young lady enjoying the late night and she even talked to me (something that wouldn't happen in Southern CA). I discovered that if was safe to walk until 2 AM in Toronto. It was really pleasant to explore Little Portugal, Chinatown and other neighborhoods. I remember that it hit the 30s with some humidity, but the reward was taking a bus to Niagara Falls at 50% off for being a student. However, I was sad to discover that the old transportation is gone, and prices have skyrocketed (food and hotels). It's not just Covid-19, but the corruption of thousands of politicians in NorthAmerica that have started wars and the flow of drugs and people. I would never think that Canada could change so drastically. But I still think that Toronto could be enjoyable ( what I really didn't like was the subway, since the stations are far away from important sites as opposed to Montréal that is so convenient). I still remember how Pearson airport was enjoyable to walk. But to see encampments like LA, SD or SF in Toronto is really sad. Hopefully, in the near future it gets cleaned up. You can't destroy what took decades to build and admire in a few years. Safety is always a concern in 2024, but Toronto is much better than CA.

This is definitely a plan thing. You can't import these many immigrants in this short time and think nothing will happen.

I always said that. There is an economic incentive for homeowners to have the housing prices go up. This is why i think polivier will have a tough battle. Skilled? Tim Horton's isn't something we need to import people for. We need Doctors. I think there is a plan to turn Canada into the new India. Within 4 blocks of where I live there is now almost 30 Indian restaurants..... Might be a dozen other types. It's one thing to come here, respect the way of life and another to force your way of life on us. I love Indian culture and Indian people. But we have a culture here and i'd like to keep it alive. To a certain point immigration is beneficial. Past that point they drive down wages, contribute to inflation and housing shortages. After a 3-5% threshold they organize politically past 10% they influence the country by obtaining more powerful positions in government. I didn’t trust him from the first time I heard him speak, full of promises to make life better while legalizing weed, hearing some women say that he has nice hair, I think there are more important qualities of a politician than their appearance.

Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

I actually lived under communism in Poland when I was a small child and it was sick system. Only a in special chain of stores called Pevex that provided imports from the west you could go and buy LEGO. Think is you couldn't do it with your regular commie currency and had to have USD, a further problem was you it was illegal to own foreign currency by a private citizen, so you after a relative from abroad sending you some normal money the state kept it and instead you were given basically a funny monopoly money you could only spend at Pevex. After capitalism was introduced you could buy LEGO in other stores and with regular currency everywhere and it was legal to own USD by private citizens.

A lot of this video is directly aimed at Trudeau's leadership, but this is completely forgetting the role of the provincial and municipal governments. They play a major role in building housing and planning cities, and yet basically all of this video is taking potshots at Trudeau. That's not to say Trudeau is free of criticism, but I would've liked a little more nuance there. Especially when people are so polarized at the federal level, the journalistic duty is incredibly important here. Personally, I don't think Trudeau can solve this, but I don't think any single politician can. Especially Pollievre who's got next to no credible plan to tackle the affordability crisis. We have to do better.

Ive seen a lot of ppl migrate to Canada and be very unhappy either because of housing situation ( sorry Canada doesn’t have more homes) or because of the weather. I think its important between new combers to communicate the life style in Canada this way ppl don’t feel some way coming here. I do feel Canada offers alot of help to newcomers. Not saying new comers don’t deserve it specially after paying so much but you are paying for they safe life style the study opportunities the environment and fast way to get pr.

I think you missed one key important cause of all this, and one the liberal's biggest policy failures: unfettered immigration. Everyone on r/canada knows and talks about this. It's why housing is becoming more unaffordable, and why wages have stagnated. Canada can't support this huge influx of immigrants.

I think maybe the Canadian government is very reckless when it comes to managing crime in Canada. The government labels all Canadians as criminals and so denies most Canadians an education, a job, housing, the ability to travel, etc. With this attitude towards Canadians, it becomes very hard to advance career-wise in Canada. So Canada imports most of its educated people from abroad. This just demoralizes Canadians and investors and makes everyone think Canada is a hostile place to do business. Please don't misunderstand me, I am in favour of stopping criminals in Canada but why are women under 16 years of age profited from getting married? Why can't foreign educated Canadians get a job here in Canada? You get my point. Demoralization. \nP.S. : Trudeau has now given Canadians another option to deal with their miserable lives: Medically assisted suicide. \nHow nice eh!

I’m an atheist Canadian. I dated muslims and people of different faiths and used to enjoy your videos… Therefore, respect and compassion goes both ways. You may not agree with the lgbtq community but it’s important for everyone to feel safe. People need to respect everyone but education is key. Everyone deserves to be educated about each other. That’s why I think religion and state should be separate. If you’re unhappy you can leave that’s fine. But there isn’t a perfect place in the world. Infrastructures are all collapsing and with government determined to keep importing at 500,000 plus a year things can only get worse. Canadians tend to be smug types who think they live in an unpopulated version of the US and have no idea of its severe limitations. There is no 'we' anymore. The nascent identity and culture has been shattered by a specious 'multiculturalism' which pushes classic Canadians to adapt to the customs of migrants rather than the logical opposite. I don't think Canada has ever been this bad in all it's history but i am hopefull we can pull together again especially for our kids ,the most important thing that Canadians is housing.

I think everyone is missing the point here. I Don’t support Israel’s retaliation, but I wondered why the Arab world has not taken in a single refugee. Poland didn’t condone Russia’s attack by taking in hundreds of thousands Ukrainian refugees. If Egypt, jordan, Quatar, to name the immediate Arab Neighbors would rally together to get the women and children out of harms way, surely the outcome would be better for these poor people. \n\nSadly this is not the case and it appears as though this conflict will never find a solution, as long as both parties are not able to set aside their millennia aged quarrel, acknowledge each other’s deep roots and belonging to the same land, and accept that they both come from the exact same bloodline. The exact same seed of a man named Abraham. Both parties need not to like or even tolerate each other, but they both need to respect each other’s right to co exist within that space. I’ve heard some disgusting vitriol from both sides, honestly. Both sides have and are behaving like animals. Infact animals are more civil, as their disputes are settled in a more humane manner, without the casualties within their communities. Yet, despite being created in God’s image with the ability of sophisticated communication, both sides are unable to get past their own hurt pride, at least for the sake of the innocent lives that have and continue to be lost on BOTH sides, to finally squash this matter once and for all.\n\nGrowing up I had a cousin . We both were the only Sons of our respective immediate families’, born to identical twin sisters, 3 months apart. From\nA young age everything was competition between us. Who ran faster, jumped higher, threw further. Every thing we did, and we spent a lot of time around each other, was constantly turned into a “who does it better”. This resulted in us usually throwing down as one of us, feeling like we may be on the losing end of any given task, would just get frustrated, and start soccer punching the other. And my cousin and I from the time were off the diary to the day we both matured, would THROW down. We would literally just start throwing punches at each other, it was honestly impressive how we both would manage to land equal amount of hits to look like literal bloody hell, and guess what, even those fights became competition as even our dads would throw money with the others pitching for their favourite. Fortunately, our moms, the only adults in the our community, looking back, people would just pick a side and watch as go at each other, than pull us off each other, would come stomping out of the house grab each one of us by our ears, gives us a good smack in the back our heads and sit us down, look each one of us straight in the eye, and say something like, “cut it out, you two are family, more brothers than cousins” they would demand that we both go hug it out, have a bath, if we managed to do that peacefully then we were allowed to partake in dessert that evening or allowed to stay up a little later watching tv, or whatever . My point with this overtly personal analogy is that both the Palestinian and the Israeli sides should be dragged off each there by their figurative ears pulled, sat down, scolded and reminded of their ancestrial ties to each other and to the very same land. \n\nBe honest with yourselves, some how amongst all this hate, vitriol, unnecessary death of innocent lives, are you, and those you rally with be truly ok with your opposing side coexisting harmoniously beside each other? If the answer to this question is no, the other side can not have any claim to this land and needs to be removed to god knows where, if not off the earth all together then it’s your people, not mine, that are doomed. We’ll still be chilling in North America, horrified at the unfolding events but chilling nonetheless. Although it somehow claims to not be doing so, the actions of Israel demonstrate a gruelling callousness towards Palestinian life or right to life, and the staunch calls of the constant pro Palestine protests, calling for the eradication of Israel, none absent of a deep, hate and disgust towards the Jewish people. Both are in need of serious internal reform. Honestly as a complete outsider, SHAME ON BOTH OF YOU. I don’t care who started it, or who said or did what, at this point it is imperil that this end immediately. And as an outsider, I think it’s is important that pressure be applied to both sides to put their weapons down. I don’t recall the last time anyone even mention the Israeli hostages, putting any pressure on Hamas to do the one thing that would definitely appease the Israelis. In the same breathe, Israel needs to be further pressured to stop being so trigger happy and lay off of it. \n\nI can only hope, I guess. I feel like moving as a lifelong Canadian. I love people and love culture. I don't like extremists. \n\nMy problem is simply I don't our government is ethical nor caring to it's citizens, and as far as immigrants go, I am absolutely all for it with a reasonable rate without displacement or a negative sum on people that have built families here already. You can't just say we want to help and not give one thought about implications whatsoever. \n\nWhere I live you can't add thousands of people without thinking about making roards wider or more busses.\n\nWe don't look like idiots, we are. Let's welcome a host of new beautiful people into out country and not have a single plan in place besides pay for their housing (not necessarily bad), pay for their transportation (not necessarily bad), and allow a rent bubble to put our welcoming citizens with Trades to live in tents.\n\nHow about this as a sane alternative, the billions of dollars in road tax from gas prices which hasn't improved the roads, and the billions from legalized gambling...how about we audit our government and take a hard and difficult look as to where all this tax money goes, and more importantly the detailed justification? \n\nSame thing, same day. Canada has to be corrupt as the day is long OR our greatness was built on an history of lies. Those 5 years in Canada were the worst 5 years of my life, even then, when I was there in Canada - it wasn't as bad as today - today it is much worse (there is now a homeless camp five hundred meters from the block where I lived, it wasn't there then). Here, where I am now, I do not have a permanent job and a stable income, however, I live much better, much easier, with less effort, and most importantly, much healthier and peacefully than in Canada. I never even thought about going back there. Despite the false propaganda (because the Canadian state makes a lot of money from immigration - in order to legally immigrate to Canada, I had to spend 2000-3000 for administrative costs and show $10,000 in cash when entering Canada, plus a $1200 plane ticket) that Canada is one of the best places to live, my experience is that it is one of the worst places to live (and I have lived in both Germany and Cyprus and in my native country which has been devastated by Western sanctions and NATO bombing. Never in the 16 years since I left Canada have I thinking of going back there. I'm sorry, my experience was extremely negative.

This is the result of having an extremely left leaning government. And many young people think it's good.\nYes it's important to bring immigrants but lower your immigration requirements (low language requirements, loophole student visas etc) just to boost up the immigration volume will only bring you the wrong group of immigrants. But again, it's a political agenda until they realize even the immigrants don't want to vote for them now.

Yes. Not enough instructors to test and teach in important fields like nursing and medicine. Canadians are missing out on spots. Too many graduates dilute the value of a degree, especially in the liberal arts where specific knowledge is less important than skills (although indoctrination of certain ideology has become more important than development of skills, e.g., critical thinking).\n\nTop heavy institutions need to cut the bloat to lower costs.

If you want to live in an Islamic state you move to a Muslim country. Canada is a secular democracy that guarantees your religious freedom. No Muslim country does that unless you are a Muslim. Some times i watch videos on differents experiences others migrants experiencing here Canada and we re on same boat. That s why i also made choice to move out in Colombia on the beach for my retirement.Then im here giving some advise. As immigrant myself, African from Gabon, we experiencing same realities of the West since 10 years now. At some point, i can say there s something broken in this country since last 6-8 years. As you making decision to leave Canada on the reasons you expressed, it is very important for you not be wrong chosing the wrong place again. You need to think about it seriously. Straight, can tell you 100% United states is worse than Canada as Muslim family to live in. You need to read all suggestions given in this Video. As a lot people suggested you in the comments, i totally agree with em that Malaysia, is the Top one based of the reasons you explained why you leaving Canada. Maybe Turkey and UAE as second choice. Yeah job security is an important factor I think those of us who are in IT and have been 'sacked' as someone here in another comment mentioned feel the brunt when you know that Canadian companies are looking elsewhere for cheaper labor. I think it's after something like this happens when you really think about things such as Unions and the seemingly open door to qualified immigrants who would take a lower paid job just to get a foot in the door. Hey, it happened to me many years ago so why would it be different. Interesting times indeed.

I am Malaysian currently living in Alberta. If I may add 1 more point which made me feel strongly not to move to Canada is the healthcare accessibility. \n\nIt is very important to me and my family and we do not see it getting any better anytime soon. To those who are thinking of coming (settling down) into Canada, please seriously consider this factor before you made the jump. At least you shouldn’t be surprised.

I think it's important to mention that we in Canada swings ridiculously left wing. It's important to note the government froze people's banks account during the trucker protest simply because they didn't agree with their viewpoints. It's disgraceful and shows a lack of sever civic integrity. It's also progressive policies in place that have worsened homelessness and drug crisis.

I think if you feel uncomfortable then you should be in a place where you feel comfortable. That's really important. As a person who lives a very different life i feel that canada is a place i would like to live
