Let me explain the trading relationship briefly that occurs between Canada and the US for context. \n \nCanada Has a LOT of natural resources, more than our domestic manufacturing base needs (Uranium fuel, Lumber/paper products, Steel and other metals, Fertilizer for farms...etc). Therefore we sell those raw materials to the states where they are manufactured into goods, which we then buy back. a LOT of American service companies like tech, media (And yes, even banks)...etc also operates in Canada as well. (For the auto sector the parts flip back and forth across the border like 8 times) \n \nThis relationship alone has the American economy see a large trade surplus with Canada, however there is another element to it: Energy. \n \nCanada is also home to a LARGE amount of really cheap renewable hydro power in the east, and a LOT of oil in the west, due to a lack of infrastructure we really can only sell that oil to the states and therefore it is done at a discount. America refines this cheap oil into gas and is a large part of the reason why American gas is so cheap. They use this energy to power the same factories mentioned above. (Oh and also the NE states import a lot of that clean hydro electricity for the same reasons) \n \nThe US Buys SO MUCH of that cheap energy from us to power your industrial base, that it swings the numbers on the trade balance into a small deficit for the USA. (41 billion out of a TRILLION dollars total trade, or about -4.1% of total trade so literally a pretty small deficit) It also swing back and forth every year so \n \nThen comes Trump. He wants Canada as a 51st state and own the entire continent, therefore he manufactures an excurse that our border is leaky and that migrants and fentanyl are flowing over. (In actual case migrants and the flow of Fent is about 1% the amount that's crossing at the Mexico border but he needs an excuse) \n \nHe therefore puts 25% tariffs on us. Those tariffs will hit Canada harder than the 2008 financial crisis just for scale. \n \nOh and also for the most part American Refineries literally cant process any other oil than ours or Venezuela's because its thicker so tariffs on our oil will also really increase the priced of energy in the states by a huge amount just for the LOLs. As we've seen during the post covid recovery, since gas is priced in to the supply chain at every step (Manufacturing, transportation...etc), any increase at the pump will snowball into higher costs for everything at the store, on top of the extra cost of the tariffs on consumers. (Since every step will need to add it into their markup.)

In case anyone is wondering why so many Indians are trying to flee Canada here it is. Under Trudeau and the liberal government Canada was basically giving a free pass to anyone who wants to come to Canada through colleges and universities, if you get into a Canadian school, you can get a study permit (which also allows you to work for 20h a week). Additionally after the schooling you are given a guaranteed work permit for the same duration as the schooling (if you went to school 2 years you get a 2 year permit, 4 years you get a 4 year permit, ect.) A Canada and immigration agencies (for some reason) basically advertised this to India as a guaranteed way to get permanent residence in Canada. Canadians hated the massive flood of people coming into Canada (about a million a year at its peak, which for a smaller country like canada is equivalent to 10 million people coming into the USA every year). This is really unpopular with voters of course (in part because of the housing, food, and low skill work shortages it created), and the next Canadian election is this year. So the conservative government has vowed to massivly decrease the number of immigrants coming into Canada and the Liberal government knowing that this can be used against them in the next election is decreasing the amount of PR cards they are given (like a Canadian green card) as well as the people they are letting in in total. Now as the (mostly Indian) immigrants work permits expire and they will soon be kicked out of the country or no longer legally be allowed to work, they are fleeing to NYC to try to take advantage of the sanctuary city (something that does not exist in Canada).

It used to be known that at certain times during the day, various border crossing points weren’t manned just open. I can almost guarantee that’s not happening anymore. Years ago I was coming home from Montreal and waited for someone to come out and check my paperwork and license, someone heading north shouted over that no one was there until 6 so just go. I shouted back that I thought someone had to check my car and paperwork. The other guy said if you’re not worried about your stuff being checked, just go. I seriously waited weeks to hear something about it, nope, crickets…

My father was an American, I would never move to the USA . I used to enjoy to visit. However I find today that it is too dangerous. This is really sad becuase life after deportations is tough for somebody who was raised in USA. I was taken to the U.S. as a baby and grew up there, but at 19, I was sent back to Mexico—a country I had no memory of, no connections in, and barely spoke the language. My entire family had migrated when I was little, so I was left to figure everything out on my own.\n\nComing back felt like being thrown into an unfamiliar world. I wasn’t fluent in Spanish, had a weird accent, and my mindset was completely different from those who grew up in Mexico. I used to be outgoing and got along with everyone, but now I’ve become more introverted. I struggle to relate to people, have trouble socializing, and often feel like I don’t belong. I feel completely alone, with no one to talk to in person because everyone sees me as an outsider. Many even think I’m a terrible person for coming back after being raised in the very place they dream of moving to.\n\nMaking friends has been challenging too. Many assume that because I grew up in the U.S., I have more money, and friendships often come with the expectation that I’ll pay for everything.\n\nOn top of that, daily life is a struggle. Renting a place is extremely difficult because I don’t have a co-signer from Mexico, and they won’t accept one from the U.S. Getting legal documents like a passport is nearly impossible because my parents haven’t been in the Mexican system for over 19 years, and officials tell me they have no way to prove who I am. Unlike in the U.S., where there are laws against discrimination, I face rejection at every turn here.\n\nThis life is hard. I wish my family had never migrated—or at least had done so after I was old enough to understand the risks and what could happen in the future.

Now all big Indian Techies and other influential and powerful Indians in abroad should come forward to give voice for Indians living abroad particularly who all hold legal visas like students and other legal permits etc and if possible they should create a fund to help our Indian students in financial, legal and other distress - may be given as loan. When I was delivering pizzas As poor as I was I always carried More than enough correct change In paper & in coins Even as poor as I was I always made sure That I had more than enough correct change While delivering pizzas & then! If my delivery was on time & I was courteous & friendly I'd maybe get a tip Sometimes a really good tip! & I myself almost stopped getting deliverys To my home Cause everytime lately I was told! To tip! Not asked! Told to! & after a few times of using my debit & being told to tap a tip It started rubbing me the wrong way! So after more than a few times Of that happening I now started letting my girlfriend answer the door As she very rarely tips Unless our food came At a very reasonable time & if the driver was courteous & friendly & also cause She is not shy about saying I'm not tipping you! I work hard for my money! You took way to long! Or! If our food came cold! Cause you're very late! So if the bag wasn't still warm She check what'sa inside that paper bag & if it was no longer warm No tip was given! So if you want to deliver hot food Make sure! That you come on time & you have more than enough change + having enough change Helps get you your tip Cause common sense rules! Duhhhhhhhhh! & that's my tip to you Always carry more than enough change Or Not! The decision is yours to make As I always made good tips While never asking for a tip + I was always on time Never taking 4 orders I'd take 3 or less & I always made sure To thank that person as well Who just tipped me Soooooo haaaa!
