There's many reasons not to like Trudeau up here in Canada, many of which are the reason he'll (rightfully) no longer be the PM next week. As a conservative I hated him for SNC-Lavalin (among other scandals), and the fact that his inexperience with the economy Harper left him is probably part of why this trade war is going to hurt more than it could have, and the fact that he's often been kind of a phony more concerned with looking and sounding good for the press cameras. Not this time. Nothing phony here; I've got to give credit to him for capturing the national mood pretty much perfectly with this speech. Good on him. \n\nAnd congratulations as well to Donald for pretty much handing the Liberals their best shot at a fourth term, too. What an absolute idiot. Normally I'd turn my nose up at having to vote Liberal, but I am so, so sick of the brand of empty populism Trump stands for that it looks like that's what I'm gonna be doing come election time.

CNN celebrating an outgoing Prime Minister of a foreign county to give a “blistering speech” against the new American president, while when he does that, they fall apart in disbelieve and outrage!\n\nWhat else is “NEWs”?\n\nRename CNN Candian Network News, maybe. \n\nI used to watch CNN daily, now it’s just a turn-off. Literally. \n\nTrudeau has been a disaster for Canada and Canadians… and he’s being chased “out of town”, but if he attacs the US or even better Pres. Trump, he’s oh so cool and fashionable. \nBut is he?\nHe helped Trump get elected, just like the woke left and CNN. \n\nPad yourself on your shoulders, it wasn’t easy but you did it, well with the help of the rest of the left media. \n\nThanks!

I'm European, but I lived in Canada for a couple of months and actually got to see Trudeau speak live in Parliament. He gave a very different speech that day - a eulogy. I did not think then I would ever hear this man this very obviously pissed off. He's like one of those teachers that don't need to shout to show their students they are in big trouble. I don't know if I would vote for him if I was Canadian, but I would certainly be proud of him right now.

It’s frustrating not to be able to hear the Prime Minister in the entirety of his speech. Americans need to see what a real leader sounds like : articulate, sincere, concerned for the citizens of both countries.

As a Canadian who could never stand Trudeau, even his face is annoying to look at, I must say he gave a great speech here. I even even liked Trump for many years and now am so disgusted by him.

Good speech. Now let’s also look at what has gone on last 9 years in Canada. Mr. Trudeau It was dumb to divide the provinces. It was dumb for you to shut down every project that Alberta had to work with other provinces and trade with other parts of the world. It was dumb for you to continually suck up to Quebec while ignoring the rest of the country. The corruption we know of that your party created such as We Charity and Arrivecan app is just the tip of the iceberg of billions of dollars you have robbed from Canadian taxpayers that could have fixed health care and provided much needed tax relief to all Canadians. While you are speaking about dumb I pray that Canadians realize and understand what the Liberal and NDP parties have done to our country the last 9 years and vote your party out. Well done, PM Trudeau. You made us proud as Canadians. You said it like it is. Donald, and I noticed you refrained from calling him President Trump because he is certainly not acting like a president, Donald is siding with our enemies, snuggling up to a malicious dictator rather than taking a stand for right and for the common good. He has absolutely no reason to impose tariffs and is actually breaking legal agreements to do so, but we all know that Trump believes he is above the law. If you like this speech, go and listen to Premier Ford of Ontario as he threatens to tariff all the energy which flows into the States or even just cut it off. Nobody wins in this war, certainly not Americans. But Elon and Donald don't care. They are filthy rich and will just plan chaos and world domination in their sandbox while everyone else in the USA takes the hit.

I never voted for Trudeau, but it is hard not to admire him after this speech. He makes Trump look just like he is.. an old, ugly, out-of-shape, and very, very stupid fool. A speech that actually makes sense. A whole speech dedicated to a single topic with complete sentences, delivering a clear message without personal insults or belittling. Something Vladimir Trump is incapable of. Almost like a parallel world/universe.

Not always a Trudeau fan; but DAMN his speech was CLEAR AND FACT CHECKING and it laid out everything and made trump look like a STUPID LYING FOOL who has no clue what these tarrifs will do to BOTH our economies. I m PROUD of Trudeau for his speech and standing up for Canadians.

That is a speech which will go down in history like some of Sir Winston Churchill's. It gave me courage, boosted my faith that possibly good will prevail. I spent 7 years of my childhood in Canada in the '50s. My heart is with Canada, Trudeau is a statesman in the best sense of the word.

This was an impressive speech and chilling to the bone. People should understand the undertone that this already is the first stage of a war. America is not talking friendly anymore to Europe or Canada, the alliance is questionable now at best, treaties don't matter anymore and the US government openly supports and defends totalitarian regimes like in Russia. It's a dangerous path that has a point of no return somewhere along the way. It is absolutely the time to be very worried and alert.
