Now he is being forced to correct that.\n\nA reduction in the number of federal public servants? The government has used federal public service hiring to make its jobs numbers look better. These jobs are mostly high paying and effectively unproductive in that they do not generate anything to improve the economy. Rather than contributing to the economy, they draw on it. That has been a drag Canada cannot afford.\n\nIt is about time changes like these are made on a large scale.

The United States, like any sovereign nation, has the undeniable right to control immigration. Simply wanting to live and work in a country, even if you’re willing to go through a legal process, does not automatically entitle you to be welcomed. Each nation has a fundamental responsibility to prioritize the best interests of its citizens, ensuring that immigration policies align with its economic, social, and security needs.\n\nWhen someone enters the U.S. without following the proper legal procedures, they are breaking the law. It is unreasonable to expect a warm welcome when the very first act upon entering the country is a violation of its laws. This disregard for legal processes undermines the integrity of the system and sends a troubling message to those who have worked hard and waited patiently to immigrate the right way.\n\nImmigration laws are not merely bureaucratic hurdles, they exist to uphold order, security, and fairness. Some indians almost 45 Percent travel.abroad for jobs ...in that most of ppl go on tourist visa and try to get jobs or stay illegally ..due to that western nations curb immigration by stronger border controls ....better way to come out of this problem ...create jobs ,increase salary then only country passport index goes up

As an Asian immigrant in the US myself, I agree with controlled migration and harder punishments for illegal immigrants. \n\nNot a popular sentiment but I seriously had such a hard time with immigration going through the process because of illegal immigrants. And it's not just me. Hundreds of thousands of people who went through legal immigration share the same sentiment.

When the richest countries in the world and the poorest are seperated by a two hour plane flight controlled immigration is an exercise in futility. I trained Indians for two years as my company outsourced my job. I loved the manager I worked with. He and his wife eventually immigrated to Canada. And I am happy for them. I immigrated to Canada in 1981 because I married a Canadian I should say French Canadian girl and it was just a better place for her to continue on with her background. We relocated to Ottawa which is bilingual and made it very easy for both of us to assimilate together. I moved back to the USA in 2006 to help my sick brother and move back again to Canada in 2016. I came back for many reasons. The political Edge in the united states, the guns out of control, the increased crime rate daily, in just too many people everywhere. Now I was living in the Tampa Bay area and a lot of the people come from out of state and out of country especially in the winter to spend their cold months in the sunshine. Some things I miss in the United States comes usually down to the cost of living. Unless you get sick. And I miss living by the Gulf of Mexico. Except during hurricane season. I prefer living in Canada only because it's a slower easier paced social environment. It has nowhere near the political stress that the United States has where it can almost be violent. Actually, where it has been violent. Revisit January 6th. Out of control guns with hot-headed men mostly can force you out as well and back to Canada. Canada's social structure and environment supersedes the United States tenfold. And of course as we get older, Healthcare is a priority. I'm thankful there's a place like Canada close to where I was born or I can spend the rest of my life enjoying it as opposed to looking over my shoulder constantly. I also find that Canadians have a huge appreciation of warm months. So many people are outside even when they are eating at restaurants. Because of the warmer months are so short, Canadians really take advantage of enjoying it and those months are never taken for granted. Winters in Ontario, like here in Ottawa, can be very cold once January and February come around. But once you make it into the middle of march, you can almost smell spring in the air and somewhere on the way. But there are those dreaded 8 weeks of oh my God ?

As an Alaskan, I have a lot of relationships with my Canadian brethren to my south, both personal and business. While supply chain problems, housing crisis, poor wages, cost of living, and immigration, are all huge issues in Canada, but in my experience, by far, the absolute worst problem I have both witnessed and been a victim of, is the extreme level of crime. Especially organied crime. \n\nIn many rural areas the RCMP is literally run by organized crime, and it caused the justice system to resemble something you'd expect from a third world military dictatorship. I never hear western media discuss it, but the crime in Canada is probably some of the worst on the planet. I saw with my own eyes in New Brunswick for example, is completely controlled by organized crime. This has a very significant impact on the overall functionality of the system. \n\nIf you travel around the world, you will see just how aweful Canada is. I feel really bad for the people there.

You need to look back to before Bill Clinton when immigration was not a issue really because people came and went freely from Mexico...only after the GOP took control of Congress, then Clinton was basically forced to pass the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996. The liberals have been granting student visas for years, literally unchecked in both numbers and who they were given to. The schools merely took in however many the liberals let in. Hundreds of thousands of them. Had trudeau set a reasonable cap to begin with, then the schools would only be accepting that capped number. The more trudeau let in, the more the schools took on. This wasnt the fault of the schools. This is an absolute direct result of the liberal government completely screwing up the immigration system. \n\nNot only did trudeau let in far too many students which blew up school enrolment, but it messed up the entire employment system, healthcare system and housing market. Not to mention that it drained the foodbanks and students were using them as their grocery store. Now we have hundreds of thousands of international students demanding trudeau support them, give them housing, jobs and citizenship. To say trudeau completely wrecked immigration doesnt even come close to what has resulted. Well, Trump announced declaring a National Emergency, and Deploying the U.S. Military to help with mass deportation, so there is a very strong reason to believe they intend to do just that. If they see it as a credible threat as of being destabilizing, as is to one of the main reasons of restrictions on immigration in the first place, to avoid overpopulation, or population control. Fundamentally speaking, 7-8 Billion people cannot all live in the lower 48 states of America ??. You have to regulate immigration for fundamental reasons. It’s the responsibility of the government, and more specifically or in any immediate scenario the current administration’s responsibility to address the current immigration status, that’s why it changes from administration to administration, to address the current status on immigration. If mass deportation is what is required to stabilize the situation, then that’s what they will do, and they will do whatever they have to do to accomplish that, depending on the critical nature of it. If Trump announces a NATIONAL EMERGENCY ‼️, and Deploys the Military then it’s critical. Regardless of who is in the White House. Trump is just putting his twist on it as Trump, but the government as a whole sees , or the majority more specifically see it as necessary to correct the imbalance.

It feels so foolish to keep trying bandaid solutions that harm the US labor pool. There's a couple of things I keep thinking about in regards to this. \n\n1. Most developed countries on earth are in the midst of or are preparing to deal with population crisis and depopulation. Strong immigration to the US stems this issue and is actually a huge advantage to the power and continuing visibility of the USA.\n\n2. Deportation and border control strike at the effect of immigration and leave the cause unharmed. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

my family and I, as Venezuelan immigrants who came LEGALLY in 2007, do not condone this behavior. this is unacceptable. I understand that the regime in Venezuela is inhumane and has been like this for many years and I have family that has been affected by it, but if the US lets this type of behavior slide, the problems of Venezuela will likely become US issues. Many people, including my family, left Venezuela because of gangs such as Tren de Aragua, but this border legislation is letting many of those same gang members in. I hope the next president is able to get the border under control and help the individuals who genuinely want a better life get a chance to enter legally. You are either in the U.S. legally or illegally and if illegally then you need to leave or be removed. There are of course legally authorized exceptions, like for work so Democrats need to stop with the nobody to work in the fields BS. we feel its all politics when the government wants they can balance all problems the government suppresses sentiments and vice versa. its a voting strategy and change of government strategy after every 10-15 years. things will get normal interest rates will fall drastically and inflation will be worked upon faster pace. politics is playing with peoples mind and emotions. all these problems are not major problems . immigration is important yo Western economy and they can play with immigration model for 2-3 years the economy have already made profit on immigration feel with selective immigration and a bit on hold they will build housing more. we feel health care system cant be changed until they stop medical association power and control on it. the government cant make only temporary changes they need to take charge of Health care and change the whole system.

Canadian immigration must be aware concerning this massive immigration from USA cause since Biden administration didn’t control the southern border I was expecting that issue. Ilegal aliens in USA never will run to the south again, of course Canada is their plan B

This is a massive task and in my opinion impossible to achieve. Way more difficult than had the wall been built 40 years ago and proper controls been implemented. You can get it done now and that could lower illegal immigration to as close to zero as practically possible. But the 15+ millions unaccounted for are likely here to stay.

I am sick to death of media cherry picking facts they want to share. Oh poor immigrants. I am sorry, if this harsh but America can't fix the world and we aren't responsible for those from other countries. It really annoys me that all we hear is poor immigrants and immigrants rights. Sice Biden has taken office the housing crisis has gotten out of the control. Why? Simple math, you move in billions of people, equal population what you already have, but can't increase housing, they have to go somewhere. With the government helping migraints, more is going to them than our own. What is happening is they are pushing out people in migraint held cities and displacing existing residents. So those disbled , elderly, veterans and drug addicted people who are being displaced are being forced to smaller communities that don't have the infrastructure in place to cope with so many displaced people. Then you end up with a huge issue of Homeless people trying to live in Tents in the middle of winter. j You have a vast number of elderly women taking to van life because they can't afford to live any other way. Would you like to your Grandma living in Van, constantly on the go? YOu are being UNAmerican in your news reporting, when you fail to give fair reporting and do equal amount of investigating into who this actually affects amount the American people.
