I agree with you to the extent of your understanding of Canadian culture. However, immigrants to Canada should be aware that the First Nations and indigenous people of Canada often have to seek a better life in other countries because colonizers and their descendants show no regard for treaty rights and have disenfranchised First Nations. The government hides the facts about the plight of indigenous Canadians and lie to Canadian immigrants and citizens, always to divide and conquer. Immigrants often don't realize that most indigenous Canadians are living in worse conditions than what the immigrants themselves came from, and few live as comfortably as white Canadians. When white people talk about how hard they have it because of immigrants, they should think about what First Nations have to deal with everyday because of them. Why is there a French-speaking province and not a Cree or Anishnabe speaking province?

May I say as a Metis. My family were and are the first people to be described as Canadian and are still acknowledged as the original Canadians. My great Uncles and Aunts fought the British North West Mounted Police at Batoche because the British Colonizers after outlawing fur trade except through the HBC company were further insulted by having their ancestral land sectioned off and given to immigrants. My uncles also were part of the first battle at Seven Oaks when surveyors were surveying and measuring my ancestral cousins land. The British Immigrants were described as the preferred immigrants. TheNorth American Indians, the Metis were described as undesirables and in a memo written to the Indian Affairs Minister during John A MacDonald asking him how best to remove the undesirables Metis from their land. The Metis were not placed on reservations because we never stopped fighting for our homeland rights. What is happening now is a continuation of what happened back when John A MacDonald was Prime Minister. May I also say if these migrates think their customs and regions are so great then stay in your homeland. But unlike the brave Metis who continues to oppose the government and finally 100 years later some our birthrights as the original Canadians have been recognized. My great grandfather and his father were both named Antoine and Charles Henault dit Canada, and to this day from the 1700s some of my cousin’s last name has been Canada since the 1700s. People with Canadian passports don’t make them Canadian. Indians from Indian don’t integrate or intermarry. They impose their culture on the rest of the country. Get rid of them all.

This is why I desperately wish there was an actual Libertarian party to vote for in elections! There is a party, but they have not gotten enough signatures to be able to run yet, I don't even know if there is an office or representative in Ontario right now! I wish! Their policies (on paper) seem great, and geared more towards a 'Canada first'/'Canadians First' approach. They touch on a lot of topics and there seem to be a lot of things they want to change! But a government is still a government, they will be motivated by money regardless of any good intentions they may have. So if and when things change, WE NEED TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE! We as the citizens have the power to change things for the better! It's just unfortunate that I see so many people getting pushed down or ignored or hated because they are speaking their mind. Remember, Canada dosen't have laws like the US, our freedoms aren't as protected nor do we have the same freedoms they do (like owning and protecting your own property, or self defense!) We as people need to start being honest and expressing things instead of being terrified of the backlash (of which there will be in these times). The only way we can make progress is by deciding to get out of our comfort zones and standing for what is right! For the freedoms and protections we deserve! To make a future worth living for us and our children! It will not be easy, but when is change ever easy? I hope that one day I won't be terrified of the thought of bringing a life into this world and country. I hope I can be stable enough to be able to give my future children a decent life. But right now? I would never want to have children, things are too unstable and I don't want to bring a child into this country and force them to live a terrible life they never asked for! I desperately want to be able to keep hoping for a better future, a better country, and people who can enjoy their lives instead of constantly worrying and stressing about everything. I hope some can consider looking into the Libertarian party as well! They may be small right now, but they seem to be wanting to right the wrongs that have occured.

I am an immigrant,I never abused the system, never took what was not mine, I worked hard and I am nurse, I waited four years to purchase my dream car and 2 months in, the person who don’t use road codes or stop light hit my car! I worked hard and I am kind and respectful…. People who steal DAILY gets a slap on their wrist and gets their Canadian citizenship right away. I don’t eat or drink and place my cup on store shelves with clothes that other people are about to purchase. Canada is not safe anymore! All the jobs are going to a set of immigrants who acts like pigs! Driving in the dowtown area, u have to keep your foot on the break because there WILL be about 20 bikes that will ride in front of your car without notice . I work so hard and sometimes it’s so overwhelming, the last time this got to me…. I had to go and take a little vacation…. No I could not afford it but it’s better than getting stressed out because Canada is becoming a 3rd world country!!! There are HONEST people who work so hard and cannot afford anything , not even their rent! WE ARE FED UP, it is not the older immigrants, it is the new ones that are destroying the country and turning it into trash!

I'm a Canadian, I was born here, who knows what generation Canadian I am - my ancestors were here long before Canada was a country, later they fought for the British (one naughty son fought for the "rebels" americans and was in jail for 5 years), the monarchy granted them 100 acres in the Niagara region which was farmed by a line of my family until the 1980s when the last of that direct line sold which is tragic. blah blah - Canadian. ANYWAY - I love other people, other cultures, every immigrant that spoke in this video I welcome with open arms, would befriend, share a meal with etc. I grew up working with many people from Pakistan and India who were escaping really scary situations, worked their butts off to be part of this country, learn the language, save for a home - live a safe and happy life. I am a new permanent resident in Canada. This video is very true regarding our integration. You are absolutely right. Newcomers must integrate, as it is the beginning of a new life in a new environment. What I do not fully agree with is when you complain about the social benefits given by the government to newcomers. It is not free money; we will pay it back later in taxes. We cannot build life projects depending on these benefits. Ask each newcomer if they are satisfied with these benefits rather than a good job. We want to contribute to the economy of this beautiful country. For example, I came to Canada with specific goals, including starting an IT company, which was difficult to achieve at home due to lack of opportunities. So, don't blame immigrants too much; in my opinion, responsibilities should be shared among all of us, including the government.

Here's the root of most of the problems, its gov. policy, you take in a million new people a year, give them everything and your dollar ends up losing value, so even though your working hard, you cannot get ahead in this country. So you end up going into a debt that you can't pay off and the problems increase. Taxes go up value of the dollar keeps going down, so in the end its a no win situation for most of the general population and its the same when you retire, you get an income that's not enough even to pay for rent in the city you were brought up in. This is a very serious problem and gov. does not seem to do anything about it, food banks are overwhelmed along with medical staff, food prices and rents have gone out of sight as far as prices are concerned. We have a national debt that never gets paid and a gov. that spends more money than it takes in in taxes. And a dollar thats going to H in a handbasket. Too much crime, too much violence, too many traffic jams and too much drug use. I have written to this liberal gov. and told them how to fix these problems but they don't listen, their agenda is with the WEF, you will have nothing and you will be happy, right, no. Canada is now a bankrupt country and going to a third world status, I guess you get what you vote for and I did not vote for this gov. to ruin the country. Hey note that this is just the start, its going to get a whole lot worse down the road as we all suffer another great depression, then things really get bad.

As a multi-generational, born-and-raised Canadian citizen. Recently, I have been unemployed for 1 year and 2 months, which is the longest I have ever gone without a job in my entire life. My EI has run out, and during this stressful time, I have only had 4 actual interviews with real human beings. I am also a caregiver for both of my parents, and working remotely has been my profession for the last 7 years. Remote work allows me to both care for them and bring in a full-time income. Despite having 30 years of customer service experience, I find myself being overlooked. Many companies now use AI to prescreen resumes, so if your resume isn’t ATS-friendly, it often never gets seen by a human. Even if you make it past that stage, there are endless AI-driven assessments before you even have a chance to speak with someone. And when you finally do, it’s often yet another layer of screening rather than a real interview. I know I bring value — I consistently receive compliments from customers across cultures for speaking clearly, precisely, and making their experience enjoyable. Yet I find myself competing with younger candidates who can work longer hours, or new immigrants that companies often prioritize, sometimes with government incentives. At 55, I feel like I’m being overlooked despite my proven skills and professionalism. Right now, I live with my retired parents and should be caring for them. Instead, my father is helping me pay my bills so I don’t ruin the credit I worked so hard to build. If I don’t secure a job soon, I fear I’ll lose everything else I’ve managed to hold onto. The stress is overwhelming — I cry daily, and on top of everything, I also face health issues of my own, but I have no space to focus on them because survival takes priority. Canada today feels very different from the country I grew up in. Since the pandemic, things have become harder in every way — jobs, housing, and simply living. Even if I manage to secure work, rent alone now takes up nearly 75% of what I’d earn, not even including other basic bills. It’s disheartening to feel like no matter how hard I push, I can’t get ahead.

I don't hate the immigrants themselves, but the way our country handles immigration. I'll be the first to admit it's getting harder to keep those two things separate. What compounds that hate is since I've been looking at moving out of this country... it's disheartening that most countries (rightfully so) make you have to be able to both assimilate and afford to fend for yourself to get a immigrants visa. And I guess Canada isn't enough of a shithole to get refugee status... yet. Like many Canadians now, I'm living cheque to cheque to make ends meet. The only reason you can use the term Immigrant is because the govt issued visas. But that being said the govt fast tracked the usual immigrant process which takes months to years. I think due to the prosperity and stability Canada has enjoyed for so long Canadians have developed a certain standard of living and expectations in regards to that. So no, we don't want to have to work 2-3 minimum wage paying jobs to get by, no we don't want to live 4 or more to a 400 sqft studio apartment, yes we want to be able to afford our own homes, yes we want to be able to achieve a stable middle class lifestyle. That doesn't work for the crony capitalists who's greed and lust for power always needs satiating. So we have the Liberal government bringing in more immigrants than we have infrastructure to accommodate in an effort to keep wages down so profits can always be up. Immigrants who are willing to accept a lower quality of life than what most Canadians expect/accustom to because it's still superior to where they came from. So the quality of life for all Canadians is exponentially reduced. We are to accept a lower quality of life and if we resist then we are branded with all kinds of derogatory names; racist, xenophobe, fascist, unacceptable fringe, far-right extremists, et al. What's undeniable is that before the Liberals took power in 2015 we had an immigration system in Canada that worked quite well and that since the Liberals took power our immigration system is a destructive mess.
