It might sound surreal, but I hope that the orange fas*i$t will destroy our economy. He has taken hundreds of billions of dollars from the US and has no plan for peace in his nation…Pres Trump says enough is enough, and he is trying to not only end the war, but recoup massive amounts of money we wrongly gave through a deal for natural resources. Sounds like a plan that’s good for everyone involved, and that’s how you make deals! We cannot give whst we do not have & with our debt , we cannot afford to keep printing money, devaluing the dollar, and giving it away at the expense of hard working N Americans!

Hopefully, Trump gives Canada an offramp... Make it simple, Canada drops ALL tariffs on US goods, and we do the same. Canada has had significant tariffs on some US goods that go back many years. This is unacceptable.

I really hope this makes Canada look at closer ties with EU in terms of all trade.

Is there no one at CNN who can translate French? Really? I'm American, and I'm hoping Trudeau announces that he's making trade deals with Europe (and even China) that cut us out. Betraying our allies should never be incentvised. I'm even hoping they cut off our oil, which WILL jack gas prices, since our refineries in the Midwest are only deisgned to process Canadian crude. And the truth is that the reason for the tariffs is that Trump has direct control over them, and can probably have Elon do something with the revenue that couldn't be done with normal taxes. My problem with the doom and gloom is people love to blame all our problem on the current PM and “wokeness”. I am not saying JT and the Liberals don’t deserve any criticism they do but all the time it’s for all the wrong reasons. Public Housing is a provincial issue, Healthcare is a provincial issue zoning is a municipal issue. However all of these issues are made worse by lack of public housing funding (looking at you Doug Ford) and nimbyism at the municipal level (looking at you Rob Ford and almost every mayor large Canadian cites have had). My parents hate JT now because property prices came down slightly but they loved him during Covid when prices went through the roof. When the liberals implemented the mortgage stress test they hated him and voted conservative in 2019 because Andrew Scheer went on the news and said he will get rid of it. When the liberals got rid of the stress test on first time homebuyers they loved the liberals again. They are property developers so they don’t mind paving over the Agricultural land reserve but god forbid a fourplex is built in our neighborhood. However I am not too cynical I have seen progress by the current government AFTER THEY WHERE -20pts in the polls. Now I just hope the Tories don’t get rid of the Housing accelerator fund and other funds that will make a impact in 10 years.

They have started loosening zoning laws in many cities across Canada two years ago. I have noticed discounts to new homes in my area and some used homes started to go down in values. Even as a home owner, I still hope housing values go down. It will make it much easier to move into a nicer neighbourhood or into a larger home if life requires it.

I am a person that loves nature. I am really hoping that the bear, wolf, and moose populations are healthy enough to help with this issue naturally. Make America AND Canada great again. I am an American who loves to vacation in the Canadian wilderness. I love the people I know in both countries. I think and hope we are turning a corner for good in both countries.

We allow it. They blame all problems on everything but the evil systems, religions and insane ideologies they put in place that blind humanity from seeing what has been stolen from them since ancient times of old. They have taught human beings demonic ways of thinking and living that is so deeply entrenched in the mind that money and arrogance has replaced love. They did find an unbelievable way to justify it and we have been blindly ignorant to not see it in all the highly manipulated religious text that gave god the attributes of their own demonic character. Fear, greed and lack are the great contribution these dark shadows make to the majority of those who live on earth. All lives born on earth have need of its resources and as long as even one man is given special privileges to resources and power in the way of personal wealth, we will not have peace or prosperity in this world. If your country is bad enough to make you want to flee, why do so? Every country has had to struggle. Even here in the US horrible things have happened to it's citizens. You cannot run from your problems. They must be solved, one way or another. The US had a civil war. It was horrible, though you could argue the outcome was good. If you live in a country, you have a duty to be a part of that country. Whether that means voting, partaking in social norms, etc., you are a part of that. It is not another country's problem if that turns out being bad. If the majority of a country installs or allows in one way or another a horrible governing party or group to run things, it is their fault and theirs alone. I'm reading.\n Some of the comments. I know my opinion may not matter. But it may eh inside some people. I hope I guess the way that I would look at this is being in their shoes. It's completely different than ours. We are given opportunities from birth. Basically to common deer, the life that we would like to have well, at least most of us are. In the United States, people from degrading. Or degraded countries are not giving those opportunities. So I would imagine over the years. Any type of hope that they had for a great country is depleted. Solidarity in countries like that is not accepted it would be suppressed. It would be stormed on and smashed out by the you. See an opportunity to better your life and your children's life. And it's the fourth quarter and there's 2 seconds on the time clock. And you've only got one play to make. Try pulling this in any other country in the world and see what happens. Just try to switch citizenship without income anywhere in the world. You just can’t do it. It’s not the land that they want (back) it’s the free resources and money at the expense of the current inhabitants…which is theft in many respects.
