The man interviewed at the end is why our son left the country for Europe after graduating from Queens. Canadians are addicted to immigration to stay relevant in a way not seen in other countries. There's a smug quality to it all. Oh how wonderful and accepting are we - in contrast to those Trump people to the south. Here in Halifax the changes are both stunning and alienating as the premier seeks to double the province's population by 2060. My family and I immigrated from the U.S. 20 years ago, and I doubt any of us will remain here much longer. Living in Canada has made me realize how Canadian I am not. I actually stand for something. Canada's future is mass immigration and digging things out of the ground and selling them to China and the US.

Coming from a Canadian who doesn't have a family doctor and has skin cancer the system is strained. If anything happens to me due to not having a family doctor please stand up for other Canadians who don't as well. Immigrants are taking all the doctors.

I was born and raised in Canada (Montreal /Ottawa) to Haitian immigrants and I decided to permanently leave Canada in 2021 with my family for many of the same reasons you conveyed. I wish you all the best in shaping your own path. Unfortunately, Canada ceased being a country a long time ago. It is now nothing but a memory. ♥️

Completely agree….all family values have been lost. Women walk around half naked, covered in tattoos, piercing , 5 children with 4 different men , some are not able to name the child’s father because it was a “one night stand”, boyfriends, girlfriends, drugs, abuse, not talking to parents, distant from siblings, leaving small children behind “due to a depression” , not having money for children’s food but having for drugs and alcohol, etc. Once any society loses family values, it loses everything. Christmas has become “the shopping holiday”, sins are not okay only in Churches , etc. It is too late to repair anything anymore …too late.

The economic situation int the whole world is still worse and getting worser. If people alredy settled to cannada with their family for some time and already build their life, they should face the situation. for such a group of people it´s still not easy to leave and rebuild theier life again. It need much ressources and flexibility. especially for families. For those who stand allone, there are also no guarantue that it brings satisfaction. every country has his pro and cons. So it´s not an easy decision for everybody. So think of the pros and cons of the destination first, before leaving.

I don’t begin to understand your issues around your religion, but I respect your decision … being an Alpha white man, and a Christian has become very very difficult in this society as well. sure, the economy is soft, the growth of Canada is limited, we have a socialistic government, and many more negatives around Canada. This is why I have chosen to live in Canada only 5 to 6 months a year. This is the maximum I can truly stand. the culture is so materialistic and so pro woke. I lived in Pakistan for 5 years for medical school. As much as I appreciated it, I knew I could not settle there. You will appreciate all the little things once you move. You can get ripped off by utilities company over there. Unless you know someone in power you don’t stand a chance. The inflation there is much higher than here. Some days you can’t find any meat or other foods. Almost everyone is trying to rip you off. Also safety is an issue. I was young and dumb. I was never targeted but it happens to locals all the time. As a westerner they can spot you a mile away even if you dress like them. You’re complaining about the cold, wait till you feel the heat. Electricity goes out all the time. You need to know people and have family in these countries. You can’t get things done independently like you can in the west. Also there are very few jobs that allow for the standard of living you are used to. If you are willing to sacrifice 90% of what you have now then you might have a chance. Lastly, you will most likely have to put your children in an American school when you get there because they don’t speak the language and they will act like westerners. And hide your wife from YouTube for God’s sake. If you had a billion dollars would you broadcast it to the world?

I have huge respect for the both of you. It’s obviously a very difficult and life alternating change to leave Canada. I commend the both of you for standing by your beliefs. Canada's has a very poor healthcare system. If your a politician orrich you can find afford the best of the best in everything, however the restof us can't afford a modest home to live in or affordable healthy food. And forget about a family doctor, the clinic that you stand inline for will write a prescription for some symptoms, but not treat root causes or referre to specialists. Now we have MAID, medically assisted death, if you end up with something serious or a cancer mental illness etc. the Gov't just wants to get rid of us, especially if your a senior. We get dental care if your 87 yrs old.

I want to move out of the US for the same reason. Mainly the government stand on the genocide. Soon as I’m able to I’m out. I don’t have a family yet but Insha’Allah I’ll be able to have that in another country. May Allah bless this couple and their family.

As a native Canadian I totally understand your stand on winter and inflation. As a native Canadian I think we don't inform immigrants and outsiders that winter climate does to alot of people. There is a seasonal affective disorder (very prevelent) in my father's family and even my mother unfailing optimism get's like you fatigue at the very least. Kids love winter but yes as a adult or even a teen many people retreat and feel isolated. As for inflation, I do hope you find a country where the gouvernement(s) aren't denying the insanity that is going on. To be honest, after centuries of being a Quebec native, I have fantasized very heavily about moving myself because even with a good salary things each year since Covid-19 have become just terribly expensive and it affect primarily basic shelter and food needs. It's absurd! Good luck on your way settling where ever you will!

Just remember wherever you guys pick make sure that they speak the same dialect that you do otherwise you're going to have that learning curve of learning their dialects. It is different in a lot of places like learning to speak like the yemeni do is different than the Pakistani. So just keep that in mind. My grandfather is from Yemen and his wife who is my grandmother and my dad's side is from sudan. And they used to tell me it took them a while to understand each other. My Syrian grandmother on my mom's side would teach me words and phrases and my grandpa who was from Yemen would always make fun of me because I wasn't saying stuff right. I'm not really good at speaking Arabic but I can get by so just remember when you guys are picking somewhere to pick a place that won't be that hard to understand people. I'm only saying that because with the kids you guys send the kids to school they may learn a different dialect than what you taught at home and it will be a learning curve for them to try to understand. But I'm sure you guys will make the right decision. I just figured I would throw that in there I'm sure you already know that the dialects are a lot different and Arabic is a lot different in different parts of the world. People think Arabic is all the same and it's really different. Just like people who speak Spanish in South America speak different dialects on the Puerto Ricans just like people in Brazil don't speak Spanish they speak portuguese. Just a thing to think about. Egypt seems to be a pretty good place I have family that live in Egypt and they really liked it but I'm sure you guys will pick a place that's wonderful for your family and I can't wait till you guys know when we can see everything that you guys are doing in your new home Korean and I totally understand I am so upset the United States took the stand that they did with the genocide in Gaza and in the occupied West bank. People don't understand exactly what's going on there they don't know if they're not really up on current events and don't have any people in their family who are from a Muslim country they don't really know what's been going on. I would advice you to check these countries in our list\n\n- Spain (mainly Barca); Weather, HUGE Muslim heritage, great stand against the genocide in Palestine, easier language to learn for english speakers.\n- Qatar (mainly Doha): Palestine, weather (a bit hot though), living quality, Muslim economic powerhouse.

Would love to see videos on how life expense is residential requirements to become a permanent resident of that particular country. education where it stands if the children were to leave that country and come back into the States. Every parent knows what is best for their children and families. I live in Pakistan 2. Me and my brother were born in US to Pakistani parents. My mom didn't want to leave US but my dad said there is no religious environment there plus our whole family lives in Pakistan and didn't want us to grow there. Our apartment owner who was Christian was not letting us go. He said that u guys r such an amazing people, good Muslims, nice to everyone and take Care for everyone. It was really hard for both of my parents but Allah made it easy for us. My mom passed away when I was 18 and my brother 15 and I really miss her. My option is u can guys move to Pakistan. U can get Islamic education + Islamic environment. No matter how bad our politics, government doesn't care about Its own country and no cleanliness but I still love Pakistan. I really respect you guys for making such a hardest decision with strength. I really support you guys with this decision. Just don't mind I was just giving an advice that Pakistan is way better but it is totally up to u guys which country u like to make your better life. I respect your decision to leave Canada. You have to do what is right for you and your family. I am not religious but I believe that all peoe have the right to believe as they choose. I also find that Islam is one of the most peaceful, loving religions there is. I too am very unhappy with my government for standing by and supporting the genocide of Palastine. I support President Biden and he has done many wonderful things but the support Israel by my government and president makes me infuriated. It is wrong. My now 19 year old son,my mother who lives with us and myself are looking to move as well. We want some place with winter so we can sky, and snowboard and do all things we love without having to travel two states over. In the end it all depends on both the kids AND the parents. If they genuinely bring the parents over for the parents own sake its WONDERFUL, BUT....the truth is, that the cost of living in these countries is so high AND, the kids want to attain and maintain a certain standard of living, that BOTH husband and wife NEEDS to go out to work..and what happens is that they end up USING the parents only for babysitting, cooking cleaning etc.... AND for their PENSIONS.... But they're given no respect. So its up to the parents also. BCZZ they're SO vital to the survival of the family unit...they have that power to stand up for themselves and get the respect they deserve. But the thing is, indian parents are martyrs.....they will suffer AND complain...but they will never abandon their kids and let them suffer....so that cycle of misery and disrespect never breaks.... and the situation never changes. The best thing is for the parents to get that pension and go back home every six mths, and at least enjoy some of their life. Sad but true.???

My wife waited 24 hours to see an emergency doctor 2 weeks ago in a winnipeg hospital and commented to me that a lady there had been waiting there for 48 hours also I waited for 2 years to see a specialist but part of that was during covid, also the wages are some of the lowest in the country here in winnipeg and still has some of the highest property taxes in the country and now with bill C11 and bill C19, with all of these Canada has a lower living standards than more than a few 3rd world countries. Our civil liberties here have changed for the worst and the future looks bleak, I would have moved away if I could but I can't as I wont leave my family behind some things are really more important than money and that's family but still I fight on and hope things will one day change. Also recently the canadian government did a standing ovation to a Nazi and froze the bank accounts of peaceful protestors, really not looking good for Canada.

Good solid takes on life in Canada as it stands in the larger cities. My family immigrated in the late 80s when I was a young child to YYZ and the housing prices and quality of living was really solid back then. We moved to YVR in the late 90s and prices seemed to be pretty stable as well. Think things started to change shortly after my undergrad years in the mid 2000s. Unfortunately, the government wanted to increase immigration which is great, but forgot to build out the transportation infrastructure and develop the health care system properly. Foreign credential recognition is really the biggest bottleneck for newcomers. Newcomer employment expectations and what is available to them is not really matching up, I know this first hand as I've worked in the employment enabling sector. Weather as you mentioned is subjective, I prefer the cold, clean crisp air here in Canada, I don't do well in the hot humid polluted weather in most East and Southeast Asian countries. Crime has definitely been on the rise as many people around me have had personal experiences with this topic. Finally housing, to live comfortably in YVR a family income of 150K is probably bare minimum these days.

If the Liberals win again in 2025 my family is leaving. Both working professionals with assets. We can no longer stand this country. It's been ruined. Taxed to death.

Truth is that the immigration system has been a source of income and financial gain for the system but gives little back. Sadly many Canadians think the opposite is true. They think because refugees are given shelter while waiting for processing that means they receive support more than the locals. Truth is immigrants come here mostly on loans, spend years working and spending to support families back home, it takes years to understand the taxing, credit, wealth, education and many other resources that drives the Canadian community. This put immigrants in a position where they work more than the local just to meet the bare minimum life standards. If many of the immigrants knew the ins and outs of the system, then they would really take over and appreciate being in canada. \n\nCanadians and canada as a whole are welcoming. You might meet a few who have little knowledge of the global system and standard against immigrants, something that their countries economic system depends on. Remember your countries have never lived without immigration. From the day the first white personal stepped onto this lane, immigrants have continued to come in more different colours. It’s our duty to focus on making life better not on how we can make life harder for others. Wanting to live in canada with your own specific community and wanting others to stay away from a land that has been shared for decades is just a selfish stand. We all love canada because we all find peace here.

I am 10th generation Canadian and plan on leaving one day too just not sure when and where to go. Affordability is not good, no special things for the long term generations that their whole family grew up here, nothing with banks, nothing with education, nothing to advance careers for myself or my children, non allied people getting in. I remember when there was stricter immigration laws. I remember when one man could support a whole family. I remember when citizens would walk on one side of the street and allow others to pass on the opposite side walking from the other direction on the streets as well as in the stores, when people had more courtesy. I remember when people could joke and not get offended, when people would stand up for one another. When a community was a community. When you could be Christian and not considered offensive. When it was safe to say bless you and not be told to shove it etc... when you did not have to witness riots on the streets and a people divided and it was not believers and non believers either as the non believers would still be peaceful in the past. It is much more than that now. Now it is you are white and racist, which I am far from but have been accused and am very baffled at that statement because never in my life would I in the past ever be accused of that. I am now like, wow what am I witnessing? I just feel something much greater is going to come, but not knowing when. ONe thing I fear is there will be an all out war and it will be whites or Christians being the target one day.

I came to America like 6 years ago and I can attest that as they say yuesi is a land of opportunities it truly is,I didn’t come with the right documents as they say I came through visit visa so I had to follow the procedures that were required and within a very short time I was able to stand on my feet and found a job that was providing well for my family and myself and when I mean provide I was able to educate my 3 kids through university and daystar university and still be able to acquire some property all this being said and done am not very educated so it’s not about education it’s just being given a chance to do what I can do.have seen very old people who understand very little English going to school and doing the exam in health care,they are given an option of bringing someone who will interpret for you with the language you understand better my friend did her exam in kikuyu na akapita and so many others so I can confidently say this is land of opportunities.

Hi Lynn. First of, I would like to say that I'm such a huge fan of yours. Since you started at Tuko and still following to date. You are an inspiration to me and so many people out there. I love and respect what you stand for and your work. I completely resonate with everything you are about. Second, I've lived in Canada for over 30 years now. I am Eritrean and was born in Kenya. Moved to Canada when I was about 9 and have lived here since with my family. I have to say that for us, Canada has been a God Send. It has helped us in so many ways, and we are so grateful for the opportunities and life it has given my family. From health care to schooling and job opportunities. We also cane here in 1989. So times and cost of living was very different than it is now. Of course, times have changed now, and the economy and standard of living have too. There are pros and cons to everywhere we live in the world. Everyone is different and has different experiences. There are various factors that may affect everyone's perspectives and experiences when they come to Canada, whether it was a long time ago or recently. Some factors could be, weather, economy, feeling lonely ( no family), language barriers, support...etc. Change is not easy at all and can affect t your whole emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Social life here is also not like it us back home...just alot of factors. People here work and work to make it. My mom brought us here as a single widowed mom. My sister and I were very young. But she was determined to give us a better life and worked her whole life, and it has paid off. It depends on how you look at everything and what your goal is. My mother was determined and made it happen and has raised us on her own very successfully. She loves Canada and appreciates it for everything it has done for us. Everyone's experiences are different. You have to do your research before coming and come with an open mind. Overall... Canada for us has been a blessing. \n\nI hope that helps somehow. Oh My God ! I am an Indian but feel very sad because climate is very unfriendly to humans ! Please give them good shelter where climate is warm and bare able. Family bonding, addiction could be the reasons. Personally I can’t stand to severe cold. Please do something considering Canada is a rich country.

Once again politics swung massively to the right with countries like Italy (once again), Hungary, Austria, Poland and Sweden, voting in right wing governments, France ending in a run off that narrowly defeated the far right, Belgium and Spain looking likely to be heading into heavily right wing governments at the next elections, whilst the US and UK governments both saw their politics swinging far further in that direction, especially the UK right now whilst led by an unelected leader who is demonising people in ways that would make Trump look soft. One of themajor rallying calls: immigration. The way media report on this becomes increasingly demeaning and hateful. During the 1930's much of the European media and even as far as the UK was ramping up the scorn against the ever increasing influx of Jewish immigrants coming from Germany. Even into 1944 there was a vast amount of demonisation of them seeking asylum, despite the knowledge by this point that there were horrific conditions in camps where extermination was becoming ever more apparent. The Nazi German government in 1936 passed laws that enabled them to revoke citizenship and stripped away laws on human rights. It would be great to say that these poor souls who were being demonised in their own country were accepted into nations who could see what was going on and who wanted to help, but that just wasn't the way it went. The way the UK government is currently working, it actually sounds like the maxi government of the mid 30's during the time of the Nürnberg laws. \n \nThe world feels far smaller now with double the amount of people and with things like social media playing a huge role in the lives of many. The ease of access to people around the world has made issues seem to stretch to far more countries now, whereas back then it was a time of empires. I get that there will be many here who support Trump, many who support Biden, there will be Brit's who support Sunak and the rather vicious words of Suella Braverman, whilst others will be more on the side of Starmer (I'm well aware of all the other parties but they don't stand to gain as much). There will be French people backing Macron, whilst others back Le Pen. We could go through each country all the way to the battle between Fujimori and Castillo in Perú, and the stories are much the same, but how will history judge us when people look back to this time? Will it be another occasion where we demonised those trying to escape the horror of the place they had the bad luck to be born in whilst we were luckier? \n\nI know there is hardship everywhere. I'm struggling more than most and I know I can't keep living this way. However, I don't want to be a part of history people look back at and say ‘if only they did something to help prevent this.’. I would rather be a part of history people look back upon and say; ‘that was a boring time period where nothing important happened’. It's already too late for that. Instead I try to remember that, though I was born into a family who never really wanted me, I was lucky enough to be born into a country that could support me during the hardest times. When you look at immigrants, remember that every one of us has immigrants in our family tree somewhere.

Canadian here, and this video is right on the money for some of the most frustrating things about Canada! \n\nOur proudest achievement is our healthcare system, but up until recently, the government has been choking it little by little. Making it so difficult for any Doctor/Nurse to even consider finding work here (and making it impossible to afford getting a medical degree) because you are literally doing it for the love of the game at this point. \n\nEven if you become a specialist in a specific field (which pays really well compared to most careers here) it is unlikely any hospital will hire you. Our hospitals are only interested in making profits by pushing painkillers on Canadians, rather than hiring medical professionals to help fix them. If you become a family Doctor, it is a bit better, because you can open your own practice. But kiss your social life goodbye if you do! The most annoying part of this problem is some people blame all this on the fact that we have healthcare and assume a private American system would be better. Where the real problem is we need more workers and funding into our healthcare to make it better. Not making lives harder for poorer Canadians!\n\nWeirdly enough our Tax system issue didn't stand out as a problem to me until I left Canada and see how taxes are marked elsewhere! It blew my mind that I didn't have to do math when I visited another country and the way we advertise wages is purposely deceptive! In Ontario, we succeeded in getting a $14 hour minimum wage (only in Ontario and maybe one other province). Which sounded amazing until you realize that's $14 without tax... To compare, I was incredibly lucky in Toronto where I found a place for 750 a month and was earning $16 an hour. Sounded like more than enough for the cost of living, but after taxes I was pretty much putting more than half my monthly income in rent. On top of that I had to pay for student loans and other bills. \n\nBottom line, if you are wanting to move to Canada for our beautifully scenic environments, free healthcare, and a stable job? \n\nMove to Finland.

When I lived in NJ, people would work in NYC but wanted to live in central or southern NJ. I had a job that paid me $22/hour back in like 2012. But I worked with a guy who quit his job in the city because he couldn't stand the commute. Him and his family moved to a cheaper area of NJ (still nice, but cheaper) and he took a job where I worked. He told me that if I was driven, that same job paid $40/hour. And even then, he couldn't really afford to live comfortably in the city. But eventually he found it most beneficial to take a lower paying job closer to home and find a cheaper place to live. That is city living though. It's always way more expensive. But I agree, living in a city in the US is ridiculous when it comes to cost of living.

One of the problem is that the doctors and other medical professionals use the low costs educational systems in Canada to get an education and then promptly leave for the US. Taxes are high in Canada. But try paying 20,000 to 25,000 to buy health insurance for a family of three. And you go to hospital for a week and end up with $125,000. Bill. When you consider the cost of education and medical. In the US where you paying high health insurance, you wait 8 hours in ER. I think most immigrants are too disgruntled. Many of them.move to Us and regret it. Sometimes, we want to come into Canada and look to get rather than contribute. Where in the US are seniors getting old age pension. The older people do leave but why would you count them as departures.

Another issue is that some white families have sold off or abandoned their family homes in once vibrant community's because they have refused to live with other people of color who happen to move in. Then black communities build up over say 50 to 75 years a great community, their own churches , schools, day cares, playground, crime watch and near jobs and easy transportation suddenly others with money wish to expand in those same areas. So taxes go up. Fire insurance goes up. Schools are closed down due to so called lack of budgets. Factory's move out farther. And or new higher technologies come in only looking for a few or certain type of trained skilled workers with higher educational degree's. All of these complex events cause the death of a functional great long standing community. By the time others come and say hey, where are the kids, where is the small local business and the great gardens, farmer markets or book clubs, libraries, community workshops, and black church's giving out food? Trust me its not such a simple answer. Many many other forces are at play. Entire sections of the city and rural areas have gone through displacement.

I moved to Canada about 17 years ago and yes it is an absolute pain to jump through all the hoops they want you to go through. I was only here a few days and I came from Ireland as a brick and stone mason they recruited me from Ireland and wanted me to come out. Within three days on the job I learned I would be getting less wages than the other bricklayers. I packed up my tools and walked off the job I notified the employer and the union by emails and told him I’d be flying back home in a few days. Well the union and the employers came running straight away to get me to stay. Trying to explain that after a couple of months I’d be on the same money as the rest of the guys. This is where I explain to them that taking home C$1100 was already a pay cut a massive pay cut as are used to take home 2500 to 2200 Euros living in Ireland. I moved to Canada for a change of lifestyle but that doesn’t mean I was going to be taken advantage of. And that’s when they said they would pay me the same as everybody else. Sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself and be willing to follow through. They even reimbursed me for the airline ticket I bought to go back. Some skill sets they really need in this country in addition Canadians population growth is absolutely dependent upon immigration as the family sizes and birth rates are critically to lol to sustained a country. Racism was far more prevalent in Canada decades ago. I remember hearing stories from my aunts and uncles about the types of things that would happen when they first arrived in the country. People would heckle and threaten visible minorities. \n\nBut I can say I have personally never experienced systemic racism in Canada. This country gave my family and I opportunity, safety and a just system. I was born and raised in Canada, and this is my home.
