In 2021, I embarked on a life-changing journey with a dream to move to Canada through the Express Entry program. It was a decision that filled me with both excitement and trepidation. The pandemic had disrupted immigration processes, and the Express Entry draws became highly competitive.\nHowever, just as I was reaching the final stages of the process, something very negative and unexpected turn of events occurred in my life. My dreams were put on hold once more, and uncertainty loomed on the horizon. Although I faced setbacks and delays, I learned that it’s life and things happen for better or worse…. We just need to accept it and continue working towards our lives …. Be it in Canada or Elsewhere…!!!??? Opportunity will come but the only thing is if we are willing to grab it….!!! Acceptance is the key.

The way to help the homeless people \n\nCanadian people every year welcomed thousand refugees from abroad, and supported them with generous resources to settle down their lives in Canada. There’s no doubt Canadian would do same things to the homeless people in our society, but the same things are not needed by our homeless people.\n\nAs most us know, most our homeless people with mental illnesses and hard bad addictions. They are not capable to make right choices for themselves. But it’s not safe and right for making choices for our homeless people even with our good intentions. As in the past happened so many governments and metal health institutions abused their power over the venerable people.\n\nThe key is the whole country specially the federal government should determined with provincial and municipal governments and many social groups to solve the problems together. To provide the nice, attractive, safe environment places for the homeless people. It would cost more than supporting the refugees and without returning, the refugees after settling would pay back as tax payers. But it would cost much less than mental health institutions, prisons and the damages they cost to the communities. And providing better environment for the people, businesses and communities where the homeless people live now. Most importantly it is our responsibility for the homeless people and the communities where they live.

No doubt I would choose Canada rsther than the US. Even if it was harder to emmigrate.

As a Canadian, the biggest thing that is an issue is no universal health care. The second big issue is your nut bar gun culture. We have issues in Canada no doubt, but overall I would prefer to stay in my own country. I have been to the US a countless number of times, everywhere from Vermont to Hawaii. There are some nice places and people, but the political climate religious nut cases and gun culture have even turned me off of visiting the US.

To put things into perspective Tyler, there have been 340 mass shootings in the States so far this year. That's more than one a day and is scarily close to 2 per day. Meanwhile in Canada there's been 2 (which also thankfully no one has died in and 'only' 4 were injured in each though ideally neither of these would have happened either of course). The year in Canada with the highest number of mass shootings ever was 2018 with 7. Since the year 2000, there have been 53 mass shooting in Canada. That means, in less than a year, the US has had more than 6x the amount Canada has had in the last 23 years combined. Almost all of Canada's mass shootings also tend to happen either directly in Toronto or just the GTA in general so, anyone who's worried about that in Canada can live basically anywhere else in the country.\n\nI have no doubt that the vast majority of Americans are at least decent human beings with a fair number of them being amazing people. However, if even 10% of Americans were considered crazy, that's basically the same number of people as the population of Canada. Canada has it's crazy people too of course but the chances of running into one is far less likely and it's much harder for those crazy people to become dangerous because it's harder to get firearms.

Canada is canada.I am from lahore and living in calgary from last 15 years. When I arrived in canada I had a good govt job of grade 19 in back home, but there was no satisfaction and peace. If you don't involve that system then you are fool. Because bribery is normal routine matter. Medical cost was very high. A lot of problems were in back home. No rewards and relevant jobs for children. That's why children become inferiority complex. No doubt after vivid living cost rises but even then not bad. Canada do not compromise on food so that's why every thing is in original form. Taste develope after passage of time and is no issue. Living style also be changed after passage of time. My opinion as a Canadian with no first hand life experience in the states but personally know plenty of people who do and follow many Americans on social media.\n\nI like to look at both sides of the story when I don’t personally know any better. First thing is when it comes to health care, Canadians use only the cost as an argument but never the quality. The only time I will ever use the government funded healthcare is for a broken bone. Any other issues my knowledge and experience makes me stay far and clear away from the hospitals. However I was talking with a retired business man who spends winter in Florida and he said he had a health issue while there, was referred to a certain doctor by a friend, made an appointment within a few days, not a yearlong waitlist, and with one visit had his issues fixed. Paid the bill and was done with it. Not a story of take this for a while then come back, come back to get referred to a specialist, wait a few months for the specialist, get an appointment 6 months later, and after surgery you feel only slightly better because in your mind you should be better. I do believe Canadian healthcare is low quality and sadly designed for the government to make money. American healthcare is private and needs to offer good quality services in order to succeed.\n\n\nNext subject is violence. Everyone I know and follow in the states have never had any major acts of violence towards them. I believe just like Canada, some areas are more prone to violence but since the states have 10x more people, they have 10x more violent spots which makes it seem worse. Rural Canada and rural United States seems to me very similar in the way people treat each other. \n\n\nI wouldn’t be scared to move there if that’s what would be best. Doubt it’ll happen because I enjoy having the amount of unpopulated area to go riding atvs, snowmobiles, and whatever else. Seems like the states have less area that everyone can freely enjoy but I could be wrong

Oh Tyler. I've been watching your content for months now, and I do wish you would read and interact with your commenters because you would learn so much. I'll just comment on one fact. As a young, white, childless male, I doubt you would be affected by most of the reasons people who visit and know the US here in Canada would think of. Most of my friends are in the US and I livestream with them 5 nights a week, and every time a ma ss shooting is reported, we hear about it and suffer along with you too. \n\nFACT: The number ONE cause of death for children and teens in the US is Firearm related, so gun deaths. Yes it's true, and there isn't a single friend of mine who isn't scared to express an opinion, or send their kids and grandkids to school or Uni. wherever they live in the US. Statistically speaking, almost every citizen in the US is going to know someone who is un-alived by gun violence. We have strict gun laws here, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

I’m 47 years old, black (Caribbean descent) and have lived in Canada my whole life. I’ve lived in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary and visited all over the country. Have never experienced any racism of any kind. Toronto and Montreal in particular are incredibly diverse. Not sure how you would see any overt racism in those places. I don’t trust this lady’s story at all. Sounds like she’s making it up as she goes along tbh. There seem to be an awful lot of Russians in Canada - from a culture that never had a Reformation or Enlightenment and shows it!! I doubt Canada is a stable government, freely elected and least corrupt countries is the world. You might want to consider the least corrupt counties, as Christine Freeland has publicly stated the did not like what they saw, they turned off the Canadian economy when they liked what they saw, they turned it back on. Also the freely elected part, as it is known by many the the CCP helped re-elect the Liberals for a few elections, starting in 2015, I have to admit that they helped them become only a minority elected country but the NDP made them a majority. As far as a stable government, I have heard the Justin Trudeau for the first time as Prime Minister of Canada, wears a bullet proof vest and has his protection team openly carry aggressive weapons to protect him. Just a reminder. an average Canadian cannot use lethal weapons to defend themselves even in a life-threatening circumstance. Just suggesting you might want to re-evaluate your description of Canada.

I stayed in Montreal and visited Quebec (I had a bit of culture shock being in Montreal because of how CLEAN the city was. Compared to places like Philadelphia and NY). Without a doubt the quality of food is different in Canada vs. the states. For the first time I ate Nox for breakfast in Montreal (Salmon with cream cheese on a bagel) and was like wow this is good! When I ate it back home, the taste, texture was different. \n\nMontreal Nox tastes like and had the texture of salmon. Where as in the US it's like mushy and a bit jellish.

Most, if not all, immigrants have gone through rigorous English proficiency tests from reading, writing, speaking. Likewise most of the immigrants have high educational backgrounds, so they’re definitely proficient in English. They may not have the native speaker accent (just like yourselves) but I highly doubt they could be regarded as not being proficient in the English language. What’s the big deal about the English language by the way? among all of the languages, it’s the easiest to master. So I highly doubt that’s one of the real reasons. It’s more on the stupid “not having Canadian experience” thing. Which is really doesn’t make much sense. How would you expect most immigrants to have Canadian work experience? This backwards thinking is among the reason why Canada is lagging compared to other global countries. Only Canada has this rule. When I tell Africans not to go to Canada they never listen. Canada is a really cool country. There's no doubt about that but in winter the weather gets really cold, dull, grey and depressing. Instead of moving always to The UK, US or Canada, why not try the Caribbean and some central American countries. These countries are very colorful, lively and bright with climate similar to ours. There are lots of folks over there that look like us as well except that you may have to learn a little Spanish which shouldn't be a problem at all. \nI'm a Nigerian too.\nI also dreamt of moving to Canada 15 years ago. I was so crazy in love with the country at first but because I was aware of how depressing winters can be I had to switch my dream destination to the Caribbean. I choose Panama because of the large Afro Panamanian community over there. Secondly because Panama looks like a more developed version of My country, Nigeria with beautiful beaches and a nice tropical weather. It's one of those few Caribbean nations with a free world class universal healthcare system like most countries in Europe.

My daughter is born in Bolivia where me and my wife are born and grown up . Later we had a son born in Canada, I was really really disappointed we got no better care as we did in the hospital. Canada is a heavily manipulated country, so do not expect you will be remunerated fairly on a relative basis.
