From the USA: Why is it right for Canada to tariff us more than we tariff them? Trump pointed out that there was a 200 billion a year tariff deficit for the USA. Some say that number is inflated and the real number is somewhere around the 70 billion mark in Canada's favor. No one disagrees that the US has a huge tariff deficit with Canada. So, the USA is just leveling the playing field. It's time to truly have level trade with the rest of the world, not just Canada. No more free lunch from the US to the world. We want free and fair trade, but for that to happen we must tariff other countries goods at exactly the same level they tariff our goods.

Americans are the ones who advocates this rampant Fentanyl use and doctors are cohorts to this uncalled for epidemic, by left and right prescription of pain relievers and drugs to combat mental anguished and debilitating social problems. Latinos and Asians are naturally resilient and has stronger faith in the almighty which help them keep sane even in worsts times and in crisis. There's many reasons not to like Trudeau up here in Canada, many of which are the reason he'll (rightfully) no longer be the PM next week. As a conservative I hated him for SNC-Lavalin (among other scandals), and the fact that his inexperience with the economy Harper left him is probably part of why this trade war is going to hurt more than it could have, and the fact that he's often been kind of a phony more concerned with looking and sounding good for the press cameras. Not this time. Nothing phony here; I've got to give credit to him for capturing the national mood pretty much perfectly with this speech. I really want to be a part of Canada. They have the most educated culture and the largest middle class in the world right now. And I respect them as a people. I have voted for Trump 3 times. Canada has over charged the USA through tariffs for years. I know you will miss the money but just suck it up like we have had to do. Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.

How many people grew up in Divorced families with arguments and name calling and all the insults? As a European having lived in both Canada and the United States for prolonged times, my view is this: Canadians are basically the same as Americans but with Health Care. They have a common heritage and history and this is like a brother turning evil and hurting its siblings. Trump is smart? I don't think so, he comes across as a low IQ individual born with privileges, heck he has been bankrupt what is it four times? Right now he thinks he is making America Great again but instead he is on a path to bankrupt even the US Economy. These kind of things in history often have caused actual physical War and he talks about Zelenski is toying with a 3rd world war. Wouldn't it be funny (and not in a comical sense) if in fact Trump causes the 3rd world war with his actions instead?

And yet, some Canadians want this guy out of office........is this the right time to be playing politics I ask?

The man (Trump) attacks our allies and long time friends and cozies up to our long time adversaries who have no history of warmth with the US. Of all the people of the world to attack, Canada and the UK, our strongest allies EVER. Then launches verbal assaults on the victim of an invasion and war atrocities. Trump is just about stealing candy from a baby and giving it to a bully with a smile on his face! But then has far right media sugar coat it so that MAGA will believe he's doing something good and right.

Canadians are frustrated and are choosing to stop buying U.S. products, but Trudeau escalating tensions into a trade war with a partner is just escalating the issue. Plus Canada cannot win this battle. \n\nLeadership change - Trudeau needs to go. That lady simply lied and tried to twist reality. Trudeau didnt say anything Anti-American. She means anti-white supremacist....trudeau is saying America is not going to use them but mistreating at the same time. Canada is right. Protect yourselves. I love Canada and I love all of the Canadian people as an American I feel really bad for you guys because you’re going through what we went through in the Biden administration. Thanks Trump! Thanks to your tariffs in Mexico as well, we had to lay off a bunch of coworkers at the beer distributor that I work for! Since we aren’t selling as much imported beer, we had to downsize the company for the first time in over 20 years! Thank you Trump!
