Poutine = pooTEEN (or pooTIN if in Quebec). Newfoundland = noof n land. NOOF n land or noof n LAND - either one if born after 1970. Otherwise grand accent and pronunciations, lads!

Very fair, accurate and honest. My plan is to move to Newfoundland ... love the culture, scenery, etc. To each their own.

Ontario safer than Newfoundland?Video loses credibility right there.

This guy is full of crap. St. John's Newfoundland does not reflect how the majority of the province is, absolutely beautiful. This guy should travel more

I have lived in newfoundland most my life and also suffer seasonal depression. Not a fun time when you get 4 seasons in one day.

Newfoundland the best
2022-08-07 0
Ive lived coast to coast. Alberta in my opinion is overrated. BC is stunning. Newfoundland is beautiful and the most amazing people in the world. Nova Scotia is one of the most underrated provinces in Canada. People are just now starting to slowly catch on to how great it is. Personally I'd put NS, PEI, and NFD above Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan any day

But the custom officer pronounced Newfoundland wrong!! XD
2022-08-04 1
U got some facts wrong like Quebec being the most historical place in Canada. Newfoundland is actually more historical as st.johns was established in 1497 and Quebec city over 100 years later being established in 1608. Come on bro ? and newfoundland used to be it own country until we lost all our young men in world War one and our economy crashed. Now Canada takes advantage of our waters and our oil. Ffs.

The Newfoundland accent is like if you took an Irishman, a Scot and a Cajun and stuck them on an island for 60 years (Because honestly, that's kinda what actually happened!). It's got the same degree of incomprehensible accent as heavy irish or scottish with an added bonus of region specific sayings and idioms that make Newfies darn near unintelligible at times.

You can't pronounce newfoundland, there's mountains to climb ,trails to walk, ocean and ponds to fish and swim or camp deep in the woods ...not expensive either (sea food and homes are cheap) and no big crime and less drugs ...\nOntario ... H.A ,Oshawa boys and pollution \nAlberta hot enough your kids don't want to leave the house all summer and to flat and boring \nQuebec lol, nothing good to say but without getting money given to them from Alberta's oils they be screwed ? \n\nMoney wise your ratings make sense but the real comfort of living??? You shit the bed lol ... b.c and maritimes are the best to grow up

As a foreigner, I also feel that Canadian people are polite but not welcoming at all! They'll hold the door for you, smile at you but never be friends with you. Is it because I'm in Quebec, or it's everywhere?\n\nI heard from an uncle that Newfoundland people are super friendly tho.

I don’t know which was more brilliant:\n\nBeautiful but inhospitable region (America)\nNunavut (worth researching if you aren’t familiar)\nThe Newfoundland accent, which is essentially ultra-Irish (historically and linguistically)\n\nYou guys kill it on your writing! ? \n\n-an inhospitable American ?

P.S. - Newfoundland is sometime referred to as New Ireland.
2022-06-17 0
Oh gawd I can't get over how bad he pronounces Newfoundland
2022-06-12 0
I was born in Ontario, Moved to Manitoba when I was 16, also lived in Alberta and Saskatchewan. As a long haul trucker I've been to Newfoundland to Vancouver. Canada does have many beautiful parts but I chose Manitoba over them all until I retire to Thailand.

1:32 - The way he pronounces the word “Start” with the slit T is very Irish and also done in Newfoundland because of the Irish heritage so yeah bang on.

Newfoundland is by far the worst province in Canada. Awful food and stupid people. If I never go to that awful rock again it’s too soon.

newfoundland here. sad to see it at 9.
2022-05-26 0
Oh, and the pronunciation of Newfoundland. Rhymes with understand. Sorry again.

My man, we just got 25 degrees.\n(Forgot to mention I live in Newfoundland)

Sucks that Newfoundland was ranked so low as someone who lives there but as I watched through it I was hella surprised when I saw my parents old apartment being the red one with the blue car ( 4:34 ), at 245 Duckworth. Or as most people refer it as, Jellybean row.
2022-05-18 0
I live in Newfoundland and we barely see any snow all winter, as a proud Canadian who has lived in every province let me help you out. Newfoundland is gods country and there is truly no better place in Canada and Alberta should be ranked close to last.
2022-05-17 0
Perhaps learn how to pronounce the Canadian place names as a start: Newfoundland, Kootenay … listen to other ‘actual’ Canadians pronounce them online.. Crime rate data without context is ridiculous. Nova Scotia is a peninsula In the Atlantic Ocean and does not have “pretty mild weather”. Uninformed regurgitation of internet facts. How is Quebec the “most historic” province? Sad. Sad.
2022-05-16 0
Wow In the first clip from when you were in Newfoundland, you were like 5 minutes away from my house lol

2022-05-10 0
Newfoundland should be ranked higher
2022-05-10 0
NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR IS BEST!
2022-05-06 0
I have family who live in BC. It is very very expensive to live in this province. Beautiful but expensive. If you are not wealthy expect to exist not live in BC. Moving to Atlantic Canada can equal the difference between existing and truly living. Halifax has warmer summers cooler winters than Vancouver. A super fun hot, dare I say sexy waterfront. I'd take Halifax with its five universities and rapidly growing downtown. Saying BC is most beautiful means that you have not seen Western Newfoundland. Like the best of Norway.

There is more to Newfoundland than St. John’s my son disappointing
2022-04-13 0
I wish people would learn to pronounce Newfoundland…

So Newfoundland and Labrador, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon, as well as Saskatchewan are just cold desolate wastelands? Try coming to Canada to see for yourself. Your opinion is so extraordinarily unsupported by fact you really should be horribly embarrassed, and perhaps consider leaving youtube for something less intellectually demanding.

13. Iqaluit (not sure if I'm spelling this right. cold and expensive, whale blubber anyone?)\n12. Northwest Territories (just waaay too cold, wasteland)\n11. Yukon (too cold, least it's near alaska? )\n10. Saskatchewan (farmer/hick central)\n9. Manitoba (murder capital, too cold, not near anything...)\n8. New Brunswick (nothing there...some nice areas)\n7. Newfoundland (Waaaay out there, but friendly, talk funny, club a baby seal anyone?)\n6. Ontario (too expensive, America Jr., Toronto not that safe anymore, too many chinese..fake people)\n5. Alberta (beautiful, but too many cowboys/crackers, tar sands also terrible)\n4. Quebec (great culture and food, can be unfriendly towards outsiders)\n3. BC (forest fires, drugs everywhere, but very beautiful, too many chinese)\n2. Nova Scotia (beautiful, cool culture, not too expensive)\n1. Prince Edward Island (beautiful, scenic, picturesque, affordable, friendly)\n\n- from a Canadian expat in China

I love my beautiful country. ?? I would love to visit all the provinces. Ontario and Québec I'm familiar with. But I'd love to visit Newfoundland and Labrador.
2022-03-24 0
Newfoundlanders are not the nicest lmao

10) Manitoba\n9) Newfoundland & Labrador\n8) P.E.I\n7) New Brunswick\n6) Saskatchewan \n5) Nova Scotia\n4) British Columbia \n3) Ontario\n2) Alberta\n1) Quebec
2022-03-24 0
I think every Canadian would expect the top 5 to be some combination of Québec, Nova Scotia, Alberta, BC, and Ontario but I’m kinda surprised by the order lol. I’ve lived in Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta but have travelled to every province except Newfoundland and Labrador. Only 22 so that probably has some effect but I kinda expected \n1. Ontario \n2. Alberta \n3. British Columbia \n4. Québec \n5. Nova Scotia \nCost of living definitely screws BC and Ontario over though. Pretty solid list, the 5 are pretty much interchangeable depending on what you’re after.

2022-03-20 0
1. BC\n2. Quebec\n3. Newfoundland and Labrador\n4. Nova Scotia\n5. New Brunswick\n6. PEI\n7. Ontario\n8. Maitoba\n9. Alberta\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n10. Saskatchewan

I think Quebec is most stunning. Steeped in history, great food, mountains and rivers/lakes and the ocean is magnificent. Newfoundland the most friendlest, night life unforgettable fun you won't know when to go home? the food to die for. But it's the people who are really the drawing card. Their big hearted kindnes cannot do enough for you to take care of you to ensure you enjoy your stay. You don't have much money? No problem just mention it to someone/anyone and Presto you will have a place to stay for free. Home cooked nutritious meals, a tour of the city and especially George St that has more Bars and Entertainment than people. Hugs Only.. by way of payment. Ohh yeah I forgot to say.. So proud to say I'm a Newfoundlander!!! ?

Seriously researching Vancouver Island because my partner is unwell and her Physician doesn't cut it but you can't find another one in Newfoundland.

I don’t know which was more irritating; mispronouncing Newfoundland or basing our climate on one specific location.
2022-01-16 0
