He has pissed away Canada’s prosperity on wasteful spending and his climate agenda. This buffoon has zero credibility. He is an actor and puts in a good show. I’ll give him that. Mr tough guy. The US gives $200 billion yearly to Canada. U.S. banks are not allowed to do business in Canada, but yet we allow their banks in the US...by the way LOOK IT UP. We are a small country population wise here in Canada but we are rich. We will endure this but it is gonna hurt. Hard to increase our military spending as asked by The Donald when he is slapping tariffs on us.

Oh dear. There was one line that has me more worried than any of them. “No matter what it costs we the federal government will be there for you.” Every time the government prints money and distributes it they decrease the value of our dollar. That’s how inflation works. Government doesn’t have any money. It takes the money from citizens and Re-distributes it. Please don’t help us by increasing government spending.

Also, why do we have to pay to keep the US border secure? Doesn't the US have the largest military? I'd assume they have one of the largest police forces in the world, not to mention their large government agencies. Why not put some of that defence spending into border security? Why do we have to pay for it?

I live near the Canadian border. As long as I am able to cross over I will come to Canada and spend my money to help their economy. I am with Canada.

That will make people buy less. Imports will drop! So even with 100% blanket tariffs it will not raise 3 Trillion dollars for Trump!\nWhat's more? As America tries to make more things in America to avoid tariffs, tariffs will dry up and where does Trump get 3 Trillion dollars? ?

I booked a trip to Florida months ago. Long before talk of tariffs. If I could get my money back for the plane tickets and Disney tickets I’d cancel the trip in a heartbeat and spend that money at home in Canada. I'm doing ongoing research to cease any spend on any US product or service. I'm buying software from Europe, using Posteo for email, deGoogling this year and vastly reducing Youtube. I trace all groceries to eliminate anything US sourced and I now check that products are Mexican and Canadian as much as I'm able and they are supplying. I've stopped planning trips to LA and NYC, I might resume if American voters ever have the good sense to vote en masse against obviously fascist plans and personalities. I've holidayed in Mexico three times and would visit Canada and Europe in future. US is not safe for everyone any longer, not even its citizens and looks to be getting increasingly insecure and offering prosperity only to the already mega rich through crooked policies and agencies. Every week or two I double check the facts on groceries and online products/services to make sure I'm not accidentally buying American. The election was so compromised in November I'm glad people are realising the only action we can take is with our wallets from not logging in to 'big tech' to buying bread and apples etc.

I am a Detroiter who has spent half her life in Ontario and Quebec. I will continue to buy Canadian products and will spend as much of my American money in Canada as I possibly can.
