Some aren’t even participating because it’s not worth the headache.\n\nHousing starts are at a 10-year low, the housing accelerator fund has delivered zero new homes, housing prices have left wage growth in the dust, and immigration has blown past what our infrastructure can handle. \n\nMeanwhile, the CBSA isn’t bothering to track expired international student visas. After all, someone has to keep the for-profit diploma mills thriving and the service industry fully staffed.\n\nCanada Post is falling apart under strikes, crippling small businesses, and 47% of job growth in the last five years has come from the public sector while our capital markets and innovation stagnate. \n\nThe $CAD is currently plummeting against the $USD, as the Bank of Canada scrambles to firefight the government’s incompetence with two jumbo 0.5% interest rate cuts.\n\nAnd let’s not ignore the trade war brewing with our historical ally, the U.S.. Trump has made it clear he’ll punish our abysmal border policies, which have allowed fentanyl to flood into America unchecked, with a 25% tariff on Canadian exports.\n\nIf you’re trying to get ahead — building jobs, working for yourself, pooling capital to invest, why bother?— the proposed 66% capital gains inclusion rate over $250,000 punishes you for taking risks and succeeding.\n\nAsk yourself: are you happy with the state of Canada right now? Honestly. Because it doesn’t feel like the same country I grew up in, went to school in, worked in, served in, and built a business in.\n\nI’m done. For once in my life, I don’t want to be Canadian anymore.

Are you kidding me. Are you not in Canada right now. Canada is now the most poor country in the World. Immigration has gone to the roof. No housing. Rents and forget about buying a house in BC, AB, Quebec, Ontario. High unemployment, Inflation is high and going up more. We also do not have a military defense system and the U.S. is tired of Canada not spending money to meet their responsibility as a Nato country. Many Canadians are leaving the country permanent. Investors and businesses are pulling out. Canada is trillions in debt but keep printing more money (toilet paper). Canada has gone downhill significantly over the past ten years. Born Canadians and legit immigrants having to go through a rigorous immigration process are very unhappy and cause conflict. Besides all the different ethnicities cause unrest and are ungrateful, daring the burn the Canadian flag, uttering death to Canada, death the US and Israel. These trouble makers have not intentions to assimilate into Canada's culture and are disrespectful to the Canadian government and it's citizens. Our youth are very unhappy and do not see a future for themselves yet have to work very hard and pay unbelievable high taxes. The minimum wages are only 15 bucks an hour which cannot sustain life here in this country. Please stop making false promises to foreigners to come here and be disappointed. This is not a country of milk and honey any longer but poor and enormous homelessness. Hunger, terrible health care, incredible post secondary tuitions and books. Now that president Trump has won the election he is going to place tariffs on Canadian goods and rightfully so. Russia is very interested in the Antarctica and should they or anyone invade Canada we got 3 days of ammunition. The food in AB is very bad for your health. Everything has pesticides, hormones, and by the time fruit and vegies arrive here from the US all the nutrition have gone. A extremely high cancer rate, young and old, diabetes, depression and other mental disorders are rampant. Our children and grandchildren do not have a future so why bother going to school or work. Our kids live on the streets, shelters, camping in the woods and using fentanyl and meth all kinds of dangerous drugs. The cities and small towns are full of used needles, pipes, and more paraphelia just thrown on the trails everywhere. The US will not assist Canada when a possible War 3 will occur, and we the people of Canada and the land are easy prey. If you do not believe me, just come visit RED Deer shelters and walk around on the trails, go to Vancouver but becareful because random assaults are happening every day, people living in tents, using the streets as toilets, drugs galore, even the police is unable to act nor arrest criminal activities caused by desperate people who need to survive. Canada's economy is about to collapse and fall into a recession. We have too many people coming in our country without checking their back ground and many criminals and terrorist groups are entering declaring refugee status whether it is true or not, we do not know. The people of Canada who work and pay highest taxes are used to house these newcomers and education, jobs, food and money. Our government take better care of these illegal people than their own people especially our youth. So please let us not pretend Canada is a land of opportunity and great. We have to vote for the right leader who will have a very difficult time and challenges to overcome if at all possible and make Canada Great Again!

Please dont give Citizenship to the children of the people who are on visit visa or Business visa. These visas are for temporary visit and people are taking advantage of this. \n\nI have also seen Canadians coming over to USA and grabbing high-tech jobs since they are not required to get a job visa. That should also end. We are sick and tired of being taken advantage of, the country owes to its taxpayers. Trump is 100% right for ending illegal immigration of all kinds.

As a Latino immigrant(Canadian Citizen)living in Canada for 23 years I found that many Indian business owners are very dishonest, many times paying very cheap wages and many times stealing money from their employees(stealing hours), I'm a truck driver and I've been ripped off by East Indian trucking companies that didn't pay me my money many times, they are also very unsafe, they don't fix their trucks, they break the traffic rules. Trucking used to be a highly pay job before the Indians started opening their trucking companies and lowering their prices now the whole trucking industry is garbage thanks to the Indians, the news say that there is a shortage of truck drivers ha ha ha is not true what happens is that truck drivers do not wanna work for Indians because they are very cheap and most are crooks at least in the trucking industry. Than God that I've been trucking for a long time so I know which companies are good and I work for a good Canadian company.

Why is the government not building new cities in Canada, if this is done, it works to operate all sectors within the country, which improves the chances of buying homes at a reasonable price and creates new jobs.. The Canadian government has many possibilities to do this, on the one hand, and on the other hand, it is working to exploit the vast spaces in the country .. Therefore, the government is working to reduce taxes and encourage and support small businesses and projects .. If small productive enterprises are opened by individuals and encouraged to do so, while providing them with encouraging tax cuts, this improves the whole situation .. Let's liberalize the economy even more

Germany is no longer having shortage of skilled workers. Recently many big companies have fired thousands of workers because of losses in their respective business (Can be googled). Be careful if you are planning to go to Germany for work. You might end up mending streets or cleaning toilets or working as a nurse for old people. Because these are the jobs, which nobody wants to do in Germany.

Tarriff exclusions are a carrot and stick, which will bring businesses and entire industries to heel. Corruption is going to flood the zone, as Trump threatens disaster after disaster, and makes everyone bend kneees and open wallets to get out of it. Bezos' WaPo policy is a canary in the coal mine. DOGE will also be used in this fashion - in addition to being the world's biggest crypto scam: nothing will shoot crypto prices up like cutting tens of thousands of civil service jobs and replacing them with blockchain + AI, forcing mass adoption. If that sounds like conspiracy theory, this is Musk we are talking about - blockchain and AI are two of his favorite techs. The non-agency is named after a crypto that was nearly worthless - until Elon hyped it in 2020, manipulated the market, and is now worth 54 billion while having no inherent value. Much of that came as Trump endorsed crypto and Musk endorsed Trump. If you don't want your Federal funding cut, talk to one of Elon or Vivek's shell companies. If you want a tarriff exclusion. If yall would give America time to re industrialize the prices will go down. But trump needs to take the money from tarriffs and give it to businesses to build new factories, creating more jobs.

Tariffs are important it saves jobs in America by not allowing countries to dump extra cheap products in the country to run business in America out of business like what just happened in Chicago with a tire plant cheap tires coming from China forced a sumitomo tire plant in Chicago to close and lay off American workers. I agree in that this most likely won't solve the issue put more stress on the population and business enterprise. Climate issues will make these plans even more problematic. We currently have issues with some of the effected industries domestically. We are having to many food recalls to create import price spikes even in building materials. It's already been reported that the drugs are coming into the country in American cars...sounds like a job for man's best friend...drug canine units. Putting more efforts in less drug cou consumption could help because unfortunately druggies will be druggies and find a way to get their supplies. We would be better off in controlling the drugs in this country than leaving it in the hands of criminals!

Living in Montreal, so MANY French people come here with their free education, take up jobs, housing (that locals NEED) and contribute nothing back into our economy, then leave once they get their PR to Toronto or try to make their way to America/New York. It feels so foolish to keep trying bandaid solutions that harm the US labor pool. There's a couple of things I keep thinking about in regards to this. \n\n1. Most developed countries on earth are in the midst of or are preparing to deal with population crisis and depopulation. Strong immigration to the US stems this issue and is actually a huge advantage to the power and continuing visibility of the USA.\n\n2. Deportation and border control strike at the effect of immigration and leave the cause unharmed. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

I am a double hater cant stand Trump and I am a farmer, i dont use immigrants because i just grow crops that can be mechanically harvested and I have a small farm, But in the past I used to manage large farms where we had a lot of immigrants most were illegal and people don't understand why they're illegal It's because there is an arbitrary cap on how many migrants can come from Guatemala and Mexico if they wanted to come legally just a normal worker They have a 60-year waiting list so it's just impossible to come here legally. Most of these people are very hardworking good people that come here to work for 5 to 7 years save up money and then go back to Mexico or Guatemala build a house and start a business in their own country. \n\nThis year i begrudgingly voted for trump because for me the biggest issue is with the federal and state regulations that make farming much harder than it needs to be especially regulations on diesel engine emissions that cost me tens of thousands of dollars a year and many months of not being able to use my equipment that I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on. And Kamala was the one who enforced the CARB emmisions standards that diesel engine manufactures have to comply with to sell into California which is the biggest consumer of these engines. \n\nLike right now I have my pickup truck that's been down for 6 months because of emissions problems and so many of the vehicles have emissions problems that the parts to fix it don't even have an ETA because they need to fix so many trucks and I have two other tractors broke down that I can't use all my friends that are farmers have a lot more and dems want to significantly increase emmisions standards in 2026. \n\nYou simply can't grow food at scale without reliable diesel engines There is no alternative The vast majority of food is planted and harvested mechanically in the US The bigger issue with food is not well illegals get deported It is will the diesel engines run to harvest 90% of the calories in plant them. \n\nWe have robots that can milk the cows most of the things that migrants harvest can be harvested mechanically and they are in other parts of the world It's just cheaper to do it with labor once that's not the case it will be mechanized. First this would be very costly. It takes money away from citizens that could use the monetary application like the homeless. Next, working illegals pay into social security that they will never use. How will those funds be replaced? And finally, many illegals are well known to be cheap labor for farmers and AG related businesses. Removing them drives up food costs because US citizens will need higher wages or US citizens will not work those jobs and create food shortages. Food prices will rise if we deport them because most Americans won’t take these jobs for low wages. If Americans take on these roles, they are likely to demand higher pay, which would increase costs across the board. In the end, we would be hurting ourselves and our finances. It’s already challenging enough, with many Americans living paycheck to paycheck. I believe that a mass deportation of undocumented immigrants would be a serious mistake.

There aren't going to be more jobs coming up here because of the tariffs that Trump is going to do in fact several companies are already canceling their Christmas bonuses for people because they are going to be pre-buying things they need to try to get ahead of the tariffs they know that are coming this isn't going to make businesses want to hire pay more money increase benefits or anything like that I don't understand why people think this is going to be some kind of economic Boone I don't understand how everyone's forgotten what happens with tariffs the first time he was in office and now he wants to do even more

The plan is particularly cruel and it looks to be extremely racist in nature. It looks as though it is going to cost $10K per person to deport them so why not offer people $10K per head if they will leave voluntarily? However, can the USA afford to lose all these people? There will be massive job vacancies that cannot be filled, so many businesses will have to close down, causing hardship to the business owners. Perhaps the first step should be to find out why these people are considered to be such a drain on America's economy. It seems to me that they make a massive contribution. That being the case, why not make some criteria which, if met, will allow people to legalise their presence in America?\n\nAnything must be better than mass incarcerations and deportation which looks an awful lot like Nazi Germany.

I'm sure that if Trump puts someone in charge of Government Efficiency, there will be numerous amounts of money that can be reallocated, to fund a big chunk of this, there is an abundance of wasteful spending and redundancy in Government, that can and should be trimmed. Government needs to work within a budget, and do the things it is required to Constitutionally, and nothing more, and that will free up alot of money. Just as all of us as families or businesses, we have to operate within a budget, and prioritize, and our Government should be held to the same standard, especially when it's our money, that we are entrusting them with, to do their required job.

#1 Most immigrants, by far, follow the immigration laws. Undocumented immigrants are a very small percentage of the population.\nIn other words, do it like me, or you're illegitimate. Her relatives have almost definitely held jobs, paid taxes, possibly opened businesses, etc. And, if the only line she stood on was for her green card, she probably came in with her parents who did all the other processes for her.

India itself should make the country a democratic country and should give religious freedom to all the innocent minorities especially Muslims and Sikhs, should share in the jobs, should have freedom of business, which the innocent minorities should have.

You can get a well paid job in Canada as a cop, but be prepared to get busy busting the poor and homeless for a living.

I also came to Canada in 2006 as an immigrant with my 2 bags and started my new life with empty handed which almost all Indians had started on their time. Yes it’s very hard to adopt other cultures 100% for first generation. But have you think how this new immigrants have their own house and good jobs or business. Why their kids achieved higher education without any loan because their parents worked 7 days without looking around so called culture. They believe in work hard and focus on their family and kids and in extra time visit temple or Gurudwara just to keep live their believes. Do you know how many places where you find 3 times free hot food for everyone in Brampton at Gurudwara and Temple without looking at his originality. \nDon’t think the immigrants are coming here are poor in their country or helpless like refugees. Most of are millionaires in India but in Indian culture the stupid thoughts is to earn for next 7 generations so because of that greediness they work here 7 days and that’s why they are not homeless. As they have some values of their Indian culture they have not drug addictions.\nNot 100% Indian are good and loyal or honest. There are few which you can find in any culture or religion.\nSo in bottom line immigrants are here because of govt policies and invitations. They are not came as refugees. You can’t forced anyone where they have to stay and in how many percentage. Many people don’t live in GTA or ran away from GTA because they can’t afford house and can’t stand in competitive market. Government should skilled own citizen or make more powerful before invite highly skilled immigrants from other countries otherwise new immigrants will take jobs from original and that will be continued with us too.

This protest is a joke! They know what they signed up for before coming to Canada. So,  they should work within the rules and find a way to legally settle (if they can) or leave. \n\n\nHowever, Canadians deserve to know more about this mess which is an outcome of aggressive marketing by Private colleges and the government's greed to get quick cash into the Canadian economy. Here are some clarifications to note:\n\n\n1. In the last six years, 1.5 million international students brought a minimum of $67,500,000,000 direct cash into the Canadian economy. (Assuming a min $40-45000 per student for 2 year diploma, between to $100,000 - 150,000 for undergrad, and around $50,000 for Masters degrees). Usually, international students have to pay most of this money before applying for the study visa. \n\n\n2. These colleges employ Canadians for their day to day operations. From cleaning, maintainance, administration to teaching, each college operates with approx 20-30million budget. So, more students lead to more employment for Canadians who further pay taxes.\n\n\n3. All students start work straightaway, pay taxes, and do not qualify for social security. They do not qualify for any student loans by Canadian govt or banks. So, they generate revenue for Canada through their work and taxes. The thing that govt LOVES.\n\n\n4. These students become new consumers and their expenditure generate revenues for local businesses.\n\n\n5. Most Colleges would not survive without international students. Which is good in the sense that only quality colleges will survive and other hanky panky colleges would shut down. However, such closures will lead to job losses, bankruptcy when the colleges won't be able to afford their expenses.\n\n\nSo, considering these factors it will be an industry collapse. Govt needs to control immigration. They need to introduce intelligent policies. The steps that current govt is currently taking are politically motivated not rational.

What we need is better paying jobs with benefits. Corporations flow of money must be followed, how much is leaving the country. Stop giving welfare to corporations who are making record profits that leave the country . \nWith new comers coming in with government subsidies to pay for their housing and giving businesses part of the wages payed by our taxes while our people live in tents, results more native Canadians are unable to be employed, get houses etc.

The manufacturing and high-tech jobs that Canada once prided itself on are no longer flourishing here. Instead, many Canadian millionaires and billionaires have moved significant projects overseas to countries like China and India, where labor is cheaper. My cousin, for example, manages software engineers in India who produce software for a Canadian company he works for—because the company's millionaire owner recognizes that outsourcing is far more cost-effective than employing Canadians. Similarly, a friend in Calgary mentioned that even the construction of the Peace Bridge involved components manufactured in South Korea, with only the assembly done locally. It became a political statement, but it highlighted how even critical infrastructure projects are outsourced for cost savings.\n\nSo, who is truly to blame? Politicians and business leaders, most of whom are born and raised in Canada, are at the heart of this issue. Immigrants face the same struggles as many underprivileged Canadians. For instance, a Tim Hortons owner on Southland Drive SE shared with me that he struggled to hire local workers—many would not show up or quit without notice. Eventually, he sponsored six workers from the Philippines, providing them housing nearby, and his operations became smoother without the frequent staffing issues. Another employer mentioned that when hiring local workers, he often hires two people for a one-person job because he knows that one might not show up. These stories underscore the reality that the challenges with the labor market are deeper than just immigration—they reflect structural issues within the economy and decisions made by those at the top.

You destroyed the immigration system. It's on your back....that's why you are gone next election. You didn't look after Canadians. Canadians need jobs and homes and health care. A freeze needs to be put in place not a reduction Business are relying on immigrants because it costs them less. You screwed Canadians out of good jobs, good wages, good housing and good health care. Stop lying.
