can't give an opinion about living in USA, because I never stayed for long (only for vacations or short visits), but as a visitor, I used to go once or twice a week in the 90's (I used to live 5 minutes drive from the border), as a visitor, I was always welcomed and made friends very easily. Of course, being only a visitor, I didn't have to experience day to day life or any major problems. About police presence, I guess it depends where you go in USA, I'm from Montreal & we also have a very visible police presence (guess it's common in bigger cities). Didn't have any problems with police in USA, like everywhere, if you comply, you'll have good relationship with policemen. If you try to play or disrespect them, you're in for some trouble--no different here in Canada.

I think india canada relationship is beyond repair. It has exposed western liberals and democrats use of minorities and disaffecteds to exercise control over businesses, nations and make money. Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. If you don’t take the time to learn about the culture of the place you are migrating to and/or expect that locals welcome habits that could be perceived as rude and shocking to most Canadians, you are going to limit your network to only people in your cultural group - which will definitely hinder opportunities for growth. Don’t make the mistake of assuming that everybody thinks and acts the same as you do.

Free trade has never existed and if anything has only benefited the U.S. He's just posturing and throwing around his weight because he thinks he's high and mighty. He's got a few loose screws and will damage any relationship he has with Canada, Mexico, or any country dealing with the U.S. And the sad thing is, we're all going to pay for it.

As an Alaskan, I have a lot of relationships with my Canadian brethren to my south, both personal and business. While supply chain problems, housing crisis, poor wages, cost of living, and immigration, are all huge issues in Canada, but in my experience, by far, the absolute worst problem I have both witnessed and been a victim of, is the extreme level of crime. Especially organied crime. \n\nIn many rural areas the RCMP is literally run by organized crime, and it caused the justice system to resemble something you'd expect from a third world military dictatorship. I never hear western media discuss it, but the crime in Canada is probably some of the worst on the planet. I saw with my own eyes in New Brunswick for example, is completely controlled by organized crime. This has a very significant impact on the overall functionality of the system. \n\nIf you travel around the world, you will see just how aweful Canada is. I feel really bad for the people there.

If u can’t pay for your kids study , then you find them spouse who has money and pay for everything only on one condition, he or she can get them to Canada on open work permit ! Im a 34 yr old Canadian and share the exact same view as you about this country. \nMy husband, myself and our tow kids moved to Mexico a few years ago, as well as a few friends of ours, and leaving Canada was like getting out of a toxic relationship lol Once you're out of the 'bubble' that Canada has created for it's citizens you see just how sour it has become. \nThat being said, we did move back to Canada to buy some land far north Alberta-only because we have small kids and want them to be around family-but if it was just my husband and myself we DEFINITELY would have stayed in Mexico. \nMexico feels safer, its beautiful there all over the country, the people have wonderful community and live life fully, the culture is enthralling, the food is BETTER in every way, the language (Spanish) is a fun element to life, and best of all-in Mexico, you are out of the censorship and the 'fear bubble' in Canada. You see it all over headlines, you hear it on the radio, it comes out of everyone's mouths in Canada-obsessed with 'safety' and everyone is terrified of living. Now that we're back we're very aware of it and do our best to ignore it and block it out. \n\nMoving abroad is a lot of work, but I would do it again in a heartbeat and recommend it. To retain talent in Germany, you need to offer something special. If you’re paying a top-level engineer the equivalent of a hairdresser’s wage, why would they stay unless they’ve developed deep connections with the community or environment? Friendships and relationships can be crucial factors in retaining talent.\n\nBut with this current pay structure, I’m really not sure what to say. If you put high educated people in a bad position, plenty of contries offering them higher life conditions. It is same for Germans, Germany creating very good engineers, doctors, etc and they are leaving the country.\n\nMaybe instead of creating making migration easier. It is aslo good idea to retain yours.

They have little to none concept of living in society. I moved to Canada for a better life, and I have fully adapted to this country, and I’m resentful that this government allowed these people to slowly turn Canada into India. I was sold the idea of diversity, and I fell for it. I’m the minority of the minorities. Despite being a full Canadian now, every single day I think more and more of just going home. I’m tired of Canada.

Yeah I being Indian I have faced lot of problems from Indian land lord , they are pain. Again all of them are not same , as India is a wide nation with different sub culture in there. Some are really cool and some are the worst you may find. Again students should understand they are not a citizen that they can ask for offer right now Canadian gov is running stupid thanks to pm JT. Due to him over night relationship with India has spoiled. Now I have a stable life here , but I can’t live here as Canadian gov is funding terrorist group that will harm India and India had given data to Canada since 1980 no major actions has been taken so this shows Canada is just helpless in its self and very weak and the terrorist groups have political party like NDP so you can assume government is not strong ,neither holds strong diplomacy so me being Indian proud nationalist I loved Canada but I can’t live anymore in a country that has blood in its hands and local Canadians have no idea but truth is all their tax money bit of that portion goes to terrorism funding. So a good nation with good people but with stupid government for sure who is encouraging terrorism that hurt India’s national interests . Overall good journey here but can’t stay here,will leave this country in 6days.

I have worked on 4 continents and what he is describing is the difference in work culture. North American culture is LOW context which is goal driven. Africa, Latin America South America is HIGH context which is not goal driven but relationship , the journey driven.i had to change my approach in their cultures he is not willing to change his approach to work in Canada\nSo go back home to your third corruption riddled country

I came to Canada as a toddler in 2001 and it was like a dream come true for someone from a poor 3rd world country. But as of 10 years ago, the quality of life as well as the quality of services has just been getting worse and worse. As an immigrant myself, i know i shouldn't be saying this, but we seriously need to put immigration at a halt so that the current inhabitants can pick themselves up.\n-The job market is in a crisis, you can have a Masters Degree and still make less than 50K a year\n-We're facing an economic crisis where the cost of living is higher than what you're making (Low-class & Middle-class)\n-Free Healthcare is no longer worth paying for but we have no choice because majority can't afford to pay for Private.\n-Education level is a joke in comparison to Asia and Europe.\n-Most people are too old to even realize that they're voting for the wrong parties to run the country.\n-Depression rate is higher than ever. Satisfaction of life is plummeting, Suicide rate slowly increasing every year.\n-Public services are becoming more expensive, which once used to be Canada's greatest selling point.\n-No one wants to work the jobs that are available and in demand because immigrants are getting to pick and choose.\n-Properties are being bought out by foreigners thus raising the price for citizens who can't afford to buy anymore.\n-Birth rate and relationship satisfaction is slowly declining giving immigrant families access to Citizen status facilities.

Why don't the rich Arab countries get unite and take action against Israel,US , Britain, Germany, Canada? Who is stopping them to raise voices against the biggest terrorist country US . I truly believe that Canada is made stronger by the contributions of new Canadians from all walks of life. \n \nOn a personal note, I am so grateful for the love and acceptance that my daughter's partner from India has brought into our family. Their relationship has taught me so much about different cultures and traditions. Love knows no boundaries and I am proud to support their relationship wholeheartedly. \n \nSo to anyone spreading hate or negativity towards immigrants, I urge you to open your heart and mind. If Canada have back door for international students, they should have resources for homeless-especially single homeless-to afford the rent or own apartment. For example, single Canadian should be half interest rate than partner if they have RRSP, and people if they can't afford the rental fee, gov should be paired the roommates for them to rent a place for a tempare home. And the job marketing should be do more for that, gov can give a little bit taxes benefit for they hire the people are homeless and getting help from gov in the first year. \nAnd gov should be provide more NGO to support the relationship consulting to Canadian for to know how to easy and healthy into their relationship (marriage or family). If gov wants people keep fertility rate in Canada, it is time to do more.\nI prefer reduce the percentage of discount of University to Canadian more than forget to original cause reason-people how to love and happy in Canada, they should be more kids from Canadian who loves and royal to this country.

Canada is great! Just move out Toronto and expensive cities. I leave in a boring city so I can afford to live well, although I love city life. You complain about healthcare? Move, eat well, and go to the emergency room only in case if you have an accident. Relationships are not great though.

Canada is built on false promises to lure in immigrants to have them work for cheaper while ignoring it's own citizens. Treadeu doesn't care about his job and only uses it now to take tax payers money and fund his lavish lifestyle he's a rich egotistical douche that will only ever operate in his best interest and will lie and say what he has to for people to believe him he doesn't care about Canada or it's people only about keeping himself wealthy off tax payers dollars. If there was more of an effort on infrastructure and technology Canada could have been similarly valued to the states but treadeu ruined all major relationships and is a laughing stock globally it's very clear no world leader even respects the guy and hurts canadas trading potential massively along with how we're viewed. Canada tried way to hard to be it's own thing and different which also helped shoot the country in the foot. The government is extremely corrupt outright denys separate parties from speaking, underhanded tactics to win elections, control over media. Canada is a first world country but a declining one at that and if something doesn't change it will easily become an impoverished country where we will only be used to have our resourced sucked dry and sold to other countries to profit off while the elite remain powerful in Canada. Canada should have high speed rails that connect the major cities but doesn't, we don't have actually good energy infrastructure due to projects being abandoned under trudeau that would bring a lot of money back. The husband is not really Muslim he’s in a relationship with a Muslim and this has necessitated him immersing himself in the culture in order to have her parents agree to their marriage. He has done this very well. \nThe wife’s parents came to Canada for a reason and I’m sure have enjoyed benefits of a democratic country. But it’s hard to understand why Muslims expect that a fit into a Western civilization will be easy. Maybe settle in a country where ideals and expectations of others are similar.\nI wish the family well in the new country of their choice.

US family here. We were a big downhill skiing family, and often spent our winter vacations in the Laurentians. The exchange rate was great back in the 1990s and early 2000s. So when the time came to start looking at colleges, our daughter already associated Canada with fun, and fell in love with the University of Toronto. She was accepted. But before Canada would issue her a student visa, we had to provide evidence that we could pay full tuition, room, and board out of pocket. For all four years! They wanted an iron guarantee that she would never become a ‘ward of the state’ or consume public assistance services. We had to jump through soooo many logistical hoops for her to attend, it was exhausting to facilitate. But she graduated with honors in four years. All that time, the city was beautiful, clean, and vibrant, though not inexpensive. The St. George main campus, Queen’s Park, Bloor, Yongue Street, more. Everyone we met was friendly and respectful. We very rarely saw homeless and never tent communities. And crime seemed almost nonexistent except for bicycle thefts. Our daughter made many international friends and forged great relationships she carries to this day. So many wonderful memories. So it’s heartbreaking to hear how downhill the city has become. And the US is no different. It’s all in the politics, and neither Trudeau’s nor Biden’s policies are helping.

The quality of life in the Philippines, no matter how poor we are, could not be compensated by whatever promise there is in Canada. Overall, the Philippines nonetheless has plenty of beauty, comfort, satisfaction, and happiness for those who are hard-working and socially adept to keep their relationships warm with friends and relatives. While there is so much money in Canada, its growing ugly side, which expatriate Filipinos themselves could attest to, is becoming more and more irritating. It is better to invest one's talent in one's native land here and just visit Canada as a dignified tourist than as an unenthusiastic citizen in that country.
