I’m a Christian with a very different background from this Muslim family, but we are planning to leave Canada for very similar reasons. This country has gone in the wrong direction and people of good faith are disturbed.

I am a Christian, and I have been married to an amazing North African (a practicing) Muslim woman for the past 17 years. By the way, we have lived in five different majority Muslim countries, but Malaysia is by far the best one of all. We have friends who moved to Europe from North Africa and the Middle East. However, Canada is definitely better than Europe, the Middle East, or Pakistan or any other Muslim country for any Muslim man or woman. We have very close Pakistani friends who moved to Canada from Dubai, and they will never consider moving back to either the Middle East or Pakistan. I don't agree with the Saleh family's reasons for leaving Canada, other than the cold weather. I wish them happiness and safety wherever they go. FREE PALESTINE!!

I'm Canadian-born but was visiting Turkey last June (I'm not Turkish in any manner). It was the first time that I thought of leaving Canada. The trouble is Canada is not taking itself seriously. The reality is culture matters. When you dump millions of people into a place over a short period of time, there is bound to be turmoil. The housing crisis. The Balkanization of different cultural groups. The watering down of Canada‘s original culture (the culture that made country desirable in the first place). The low salaries versus cost of living. The reality is this has been brewing for a while, and is only coming to a head now. The solutions are there, but you are “racist” if you say anything. A 90% reduction in immigration would be a good start. Then, a reduction in the size of a bloated government. Incentives for people to have families again. People should be having 2 to 3 kids on average again. A return to Jesus couldn’t hurt as the country was built on Judeo-Christian values. Then, the country will grow organically and will have some hope of becoming great again!

Yes when the free benefits run out it's on to the next country for more free benefits. If you are coming to Canada you are coming to become Canadian just like the rest of us. The average Canadian is living paycheck to paycheck and don't receive any of the free benefits that newcomers receive when they come to Canada. Like the song goes ,we built this city, and now you want to move in and take over. You're a good guy, Tyler...and very brave to take on such a dicey subject as comparisons between Canada and The United States. We are two distinctly different cultures. Currently, America is more than frightening. The political system has really become a total mess. A two-party system (basically YES or NO) does not cater to the many grey areas of politics. The choice right now seems to be Fascist or Liberal. That's it! It was not like that during most of my professional life. Thanks to my job, I had a Green Card. But, I also could travel with little difficulty...especially in the South and Mid-West. Why? Well, because I had blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. I never got used to states where everyone was walking around with a gun. It scared the hell out of me. As a commercial film director and writer, (unique services - hence the Green Card) I worked just about everywhere in the US. The North East is the most similar to Canada. But get down south, and people were literally walking around with holsters and revolvers on their hips. I never felt completely safe. But America is also a great country full of opportunities and if you are educated and a professional, the money is also great. All Canadians love their Healthcare and Social Safety Net. Generally, I think Canadians are more socially evolved and better educated. Your educational system is awful. And the Bible Belt States are anything but Christian. It's hate and fear-based. But the past 7 years have been the worst since the Trump Cult era began. Trump and his Mega Cult could destroy what was once a wonderful country.

11 years ago a trip to the ER in Texas cost close to or more than the cost with insurance than a the cost for an ER visit in NS (for those out of country who are not covered by our provincial program). \n\nWe would pay $50 copay at the ER, then over. The next few days we would receive a bill for the physician, then from pharmacy, then from the facility, then from X-ray, etc, every separate department would have its own portion. \n\nAnd then there was the unpleasant surprise when the doctor who saw you in the ER was not an “in network” doctor even though the hospital was “in network”. Our insurance paid 70% of (approved) in network costs, but only 50% of out of network costs. Keep in mind that “in network” hospitals and providers had lower negotiated rates with the insurance companies. Which meant you would have coverage of 70% of a negotiated lower rate for in network but out of network was 50% of a higher rate.\n\nMy neighbours were lovely people. The culture was much different than I expected. The gun culture really hits you in face. For the first while it seemed to be so obvious - signs on pharmacies, hospitals, and schools that state that guns were not allowed, even with a conceal and carry permit. Very quickly, that became “normal”….\n\nFood was amazing. Gas was cheap. Politics was everywhere. Christian mega churches were everywhere - along with some very vocal overbearing people who force their beliefs and opinions on anyone who is near them. \n\nI was surprised with the number of people who felt it was appropriate to discuss religion, politics, and money with virtual strangers. A lot of very personal questions as well. I am guessing it is the difference between what is considered extremely rude in Canada, vs what is just a regular question in the US (or that area of Texas). \n\nAnd another very different thing was how hardly anyone swore. I had the bottom drop out of a bad carrying glasses when I was in San Antonio, the glasses broke, and I said “Shit.” I have never seen so many heads turn towards me. Most of the females looked at me with complete disgust and a lot of the males laughed. I expect that the American who heard me swear, were thinking I was the rudest person. One of my children’s friends was from Australia and when their mom came over one day, she said something to the effect of “so glad you are Canadian” because she sis not have to worry about offending me if she said fuck. That was a relaxing afternoon.

The fact that Tyler is surprised at how many people bring up school shootings as a reason to stay away from the US is a scary indication of how much this type of violence has become normalized. I'm Canadian and throughout my professional life I've spent time working in the US. In fairness, I've met some truly great people. Also in fairness, religion seeps into US politics in ways that it never does in Canada and never in a good way. Christian fundamentalism is a scary reality of US life intent as it is on heaping hate on sexual minorities and taking away rights wherever they are allowed to. An additional point, but this one is only an irritant, is how ignorant so many Americans are about the world. At any rate, I'm retired and live with advanced kidney disease and a pacemaker. For those reasons alone I couldn't afford to live in the US. Thankfully, my country takes good care of me and my provincial government (Québec) even covers most of the cost of my expensive prescription drugs.

Very good video but a few things are missed. \nLife in Canada is far better than any day in the USA!\nCANADA has a Public, Single-Payer Healthcare Insurance since the 1960's, something the USA in 2023 still does not have. So yes you may make\nmore money in the USA, but that all can go away with a serious health issue even with US private Insurance. I had a few fruitless interviews with schools looking for a French teacher, because in Texas, the education system is denominational, and I am a non-practicing Christian.\n\nMoreover, the reception of the hotel where I was staying forbade me to go out at night if I wanted to return home safe and alive. Indeed, the article did not mention the high crime rate in Houston and that many people were armed. In fact, posters on public transport warned passengers to hide their weapons in plain sight. This was enough to convince me that I had to stay in Canada, even if the country is not perfect.

I split my time between Canada and the US. In the 1980s and 90s, there was very little difference. Far right extremism was left in the most fundamentalist churches and if any of it made it to the larger public sphere, it was either laughed at or ignored. All that changed with the rise of the Tea Party movement, social media, and now MAGA. Born and raised Cdn and every point you raise is valid IMO and experience. I love my country however, it is hard to get ahead, we work too much, and cost of living is so expensive. The reason why Canada is wonderful for those who stay is A) Charter of Rights and Freedoms - we are protected by laws and citizens enjoy legal, justice, policing and gvmt services that help protect quality of life. B) it is a safe country primarily and not easy to reach for insurgents, terrorist attacks and political anarchy etc. C) We have so much land and space for people to decide where they want to live - density is not high so you can have space. D) it is a beautiful country with awe inspiring nature. E) we do have one of the best immigrant populations and that is our crown. Being diverse is a blessing so if you are atheist, Christian, Muslim etc doesn't matter - you can enjoy freedom to worship as you wish. And F) Healthcare could improve but, the quality of care is world class and speaking as a breast cancer survivor who's treatment ran $120k (diagnostics, chemo, surgery, radiation, med professionals, rehab and drug therapies) we have access to that care whereas in other countries you may not.

I'm Canadian and I love both Canada and the US. However, I don't think I would live permanently in the US because I think life is better in Canada overall. We have free healthcare, so no medical bills and no health insurance to deal with. Only a bigger tax bill that doesn't change according to your health situation. We have much less crime, especially gun related crime. We have less poverty and a much better social safety net. It horrifies me how many Americans are homeless even if they previously had a good job, but they had to stop working because of a health condition. We have less political extremism and polarization. Extremist Christians have no control over our politics, so LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights are much safer here than in the US. We don't have cities being burnt down by antifa on one side, and elections and social peace being jeopardized by MAGA extremists on the other. On a more positive note, I love the weather of the US, their fast food joints, their local food, the landscapes, the cheaper gas and all the attractions. I really wish the US could solve all its problems and become a better country. Maybe one day, we could end up similar and open our borders like Europeans do with the Schengen Accord.

What I love about both countries that religion doesn't play much of role . Btw Canada is 60% non religion . And USA is 40% no religion . The sad fact on Canada, U.S and Europe, for centuries dominated of Christian faith, are slowly under silent invasion of Islamism. What good has Islam ever done to Canada? On what grounds can Islamic Imams patronize Christian countries? Why does Canada have to adapt to Islam?

I am a 16 years old muslim from egypt, and I am saying that what ISIS are doing is against Islam, my relative was in the Egyptian army while he was shot by ISIS terrorists, what I am trying to say to all the world is that ISIS targets everyone, wether a muslim or non-muslim, they keep bombing masjids as well as churches, they keep killing thousands of muslims and christians in many states. ISIS islam is totally different from the Islamic values that I was raised based on as a kid. If the government of Canda wants to fight it, then they should take these steps.\n1- They should have a security cameras secretly placed in islamic schools and masjids\n2- They should have a security bars over the masjid doors to check if any one who enters the masjids has unouthorized materials\n3- They should have a continous and a strong link between the intelligence and the islamic centeres as this may help greatly in fighting back terrorist attacks\n4- They should give muslims equal rights, consideration, and responsibility to those of non muslim canadians as banning something may add the fuel to the fire.\n5- Those who have hate towards the nation should not be allowed in\n6- Measures should be taken to reduce hate crimes\n\nJust to inform you that those muslims who are living in Canada, most of them are either refugees or converts, those refugees have harsh conditions in their countries due to civil wars, thats why they fled the country. In Egypt, were the population is 90% muslim, there are 9% christians, mostly were Coptic Orthodox Christianity, and they are living side by side with muslims peacefully without any violence or discrimination. Muslims have ruled Jerusalem for many centuries and Jews, Muslims, and Christians lived side by side peacefully without any violence or discrimination. Those terrorist have nothing to do with Islam, they are claiming that they are muslims but they are actually not.\n\nBut, what I am surprised about is that those muslims living in Canada that is shown on this videos are very religious and they are a tiny percentage of all muslim population in Canada, In fact, a study survey in France says that before the Ban of Burqa, of 4 million muslim women living in France only 368 muslim women actually wore it, many muslim westerns dont even wear the Hijab except when they are praying. Even of Burqa was banned, this will never reduce the statistics of terrorism.

If these Muslim women do harm to you, you can not identify them because not only is their hair covered, even their faces are covered. I personally feel uneasy when I am with individuals whose faces and heads are covered up whatever their religion is. They can see my face and hair fully but I can not identify them because they hide their faces, hair and whole body behind the nikab and hijab and burka. It seems as if they are always undercover or involved in something covert because they hide their faces and cover their whole body ,What you see are only their eyes. It is very disconcerting. If these Muslims want to practice their religion freely without anybody telling them off, they should live in MUslim countries and not in Canada, Europe and USA where society is mostly secular with Judeo-Christian heritage.

Where is the proof that islam is the 'fastest-growing religion' in Canada? No data are presented, only a blunt assertion. But if the claim is allowed, why is it 'growing'? If only because of migratory displacement from other countries to this one, how is that real growth? No, it is population transfer. Has anyone sought to discover the number of people who are BORN AGAIN TO ETERNAL LIFE BY THE SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST, something which is difficult to quantify statistically? But then, Christianity as Biblically defined is not a religion or a human institution: it is the truth. Islam is already defeated, because it is NOT of the truth. Its agenda has always been to OPPOSE Biblical truth. Do not be deceived by propaganda to the contrary.
