Trudeau is on his way out. Has five days left in office. He is very unpopular on both sides in Canada due to the state of things in Canada that have nothing to do with Trump. Obviously Americans commenting here aren’t aware of that. \n\nThe last thing most Canadians want Trudeau to do is publicly agitate Trump and make things difficult for the next prime minister.

I'm somewhat confused though. Canadians have been suffering under high prices for years now and Trudeau never did anything to combat this. Now we want to speak up against the tariffs which is an additional price burden on top of existing outrageous costs. If we solve for tariffs, whats the plan to solve for the ridiculously high living costs.

I don't think I've ever seen or heard Trudeau this angry before. Justifiably so. I hate that your government has done this but Canada will not back down. There is no real justification for these tarrifs other than Donald trying to take our land and resources. \n\nYou can think what you want about Trudeau, but he is absolutely correct. These tarrifs, this trade war against a long time ally, partner, and friend, is indeed a very dumb thing to do.

Canada has taken advantage of the US for far too long; the US needs jobs; manufacturing in the US will bring jobs back; forcing Canada to trade fairly will bring manufacturing back to the US. If Trudeau wants a trade war, he will lose. We can get those raw materials from other sources.

Thanks to Trudeau and the Liberal party the opioid problem has only gotten worse, and they haven’t done enough to fix it. Their policies on immigration and borders have been way too relaxed, letting things get out of hand and putting a lot of strain on the system. We need stronger leadership to sort this all out!! I'm with Canada. I am not pleased how CNN presented this speech however. They should have let the French speech play out with interpretation as Trudeau is not repeating what he already said in English and he provided more information. Also CNN keeps interrupting the question/answer portion of the speech. I want this news from the horse's mouth, not the news person's interpretation or regurgitation of what was said. I went to another source to see the complete speech instead of staying on this channel. I recommend that other viewers do the same if you want complete information.
