Canadian here. My husband and I listen at you here on CNN Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and we couldn't be more proud of you and your team. You say intelligent words right from the start and you deliver a strong message in a very strong manner, beginning with this: the US is declaring economic war on Canada, as well as strong arguments, and that fentanyl is just a pretext, which we all already know, that getting closer to Russia and cutting ties with its allies is Donald Trump's current course of action, and the fair question to ask is why is this man putting himself at the service of the Kremlin which is totally unnatural for an American.?

Thank you PM Trudeau. As an American who DID NOT vote for the orange man in a Satan suit, I support your actions towards the US. No one wins in this situation, and I am prepared for whatever is going to happen. Trump must be stopped!!!!

Mr. Trump is a russian puppet and kgb agent. He is hired to do what he is doing right now. So, he does understand everything. He is there, in his chair to bring American down and to wreak a havoc to the entire democratic world. When you admit that to yourself all his actions are easily explained.

Honestly, I can totally understand the actions of Trump and JD in their last interview with Zelensky but these tariffs against Mexico and Canada is something I don't get it all! Trump should be getting as many allies as possible in such trouble times.

Those tariffs are such a stupid thing to do... for every country they are doing this, USA is basically making the chinese products so much more appealing for them. It would be MUCH cheaper to exchange those products for chinese ones instead of paying the tariffs. Congrats Trump, you are so afraid of China that you are actually EXPANDING its influence on the world. \nChina has actually the chance of doing something really funny now: REDUCING tariffs for those affected by Trumps actions. you know how to make sense of all of Trump's actions? if he was a Russian agent following orders from Putin. cut aid to Ukraine, create trade disputes with our allies and trade partners, significant harm to the functioning state of the federal government, etc. how is he still alive?

Not once did he talk about why this is happening? He says he's our friend but saying it is one thing. Actions speak louder Trudeau. Mr. Trump asked you to meet him to get balanced fair trade. You say you are our friend. But, yet you don't want fair and balanced trade. Hmmm, common sense goes a long. Tariff is a smart way to let you know that your certainly not acting like the friend and ally you say you are. This could all go away, but the truth is your demonrat supporter who lies, misleads the truth, and blames others. We the people don't tolerate that any longer and don't appreciate it. Shame on you!

Why does he feel the need to stroke Trump's ego, calling him a smart man, while condemning his actions. He articulates all the harm and difficulties Trump's actions, and these tariffs will cause, but refuses to point to the source of this stupidity directly, and call him out for it.

A well spoken leader who is looking out for his people while recognizing that most Americans do not support trumps actions. Sadly trump doesn’t give a rats ass about anyone but himself.

America we Canadians are upset with Trump and his criminal group running your country into the ground. I voted for Trump and a lot of his policies and actions I agree with, THIS one I do not, Canada did not let in NEARLY as many illegal immigrants as Mexico so it makes no sense why he is punishing them, and he isn't, he just doesn't like Trudeau probably because he was friends or friendly with Biden, same with Zelensky AND Canada wanted to ban products from red states for electing him which is frankly just a stupid policy. \nThis is not hard to figure out, Trump doesn't like Trudeau and Ford, plain and simple......it really is THAT shallow, he is trolling Trudeau by calling them the 51st state and anyone know knows Trump and how he thinks knows that.

The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

EU should do the same on applying tarriffs to Trump US and should continue to support Ucraine against the dictator in that country. For me it seems Trump is creating conditions for some sort of a military action against neighbors, probably in time around next presidential elections, and for domestic political reasons.

Please, Mr. Trudeau, please say that Donald Trump is the culprit, not America in its entirety. We are protesting the takeover of our country and will not cease trying to get rid of this administration that has hijacked our country. I used to think that the idea that Trump is a Russian asset was just a conspiracy theory. I am not sure of that now as how else to you explain why Trump is doing everything he can to undermine the USA? Why else would you cause a breech between the US and our allies Canada and Mexico? Why else would he destroy the infrastructure of our country through Musk and Doge? Why else would you stop all aid to Ukraine? Why would you stop cyber operations targeting Russia? Why would he set up an operation to humiliate the leader of an allied country fighting for its life against Russian aggression? Why would you send your vice president to Germany and have him insult our allies and not meet with the leadership of the country but rather meet with the essentially neo-Nazi Alternative for Germany? None of this--and many other actions--makes sense unless you begin to understand that Trump is actively trying to weaken our country to the benefit of the Russians. I know it is hard to believe but I can find no other explanation.

America the time has come for us to BAKER Act our President as being unfit for office. Act while we still have a country. While we still have an economy. Canadian here. There's a lot of people in Canada that don't like Trudeau for a lot of reasons, but with the recent events I think the majority of the country has come to tolorate him a little while longer until we get a new Prime Minister. Trumps actions have only united the Canadian people.

As a Canadian - Trumps 'brilliance' has done one thing for sure, it's aligned all of the provinces against our neighbor and former ally the United States. It's done something we ourselves have had difficulty with - gaining support from Quebec. The overwhelming vast majority of Canadians don't trust the US anymore, as the legal justification for the tariffs is absolute bull, and is a pretext for Trumps actions. My family has cancelled all US travel, in my case 2 trips this year worth 15K to the US. I will miss Vegas for my 60th. We used to shop in WA State weekly; last year I spent 11K in WA State, and routinely took in shows in Seattle. No more. \n\nCan anyone please explain why Trump is screwing over Americans? Seriously.
