Why do I feel like Trudeau cares more about my well-being than my own government? Not all of us Americans support Trump. Frankly, I'm terrified of what he's doing. I support your push back, Canada. It only makes sense. I'm glad there are countries out there with safe and logical leaders. Hopefully someday the U.S. can have that again.

CNN needs to realize its role in this, as everyone knew what Trump would do, but you didn't care enough about the black vote to listen to what they wanted. Make no mistake. The black voters held their nose and voted for Obama a second term, but when he did nothing but insult us, we stayed home on Hillary and we got Trump. Trump was an overt racist, so you scared enough black voters and we held our nose and voted for Biden, but we made it clear that scare tactics would only work once. You Doubled down in 2024 and you lost miserably this time, Double down again, and you may lose your party. For the record, there is no voter's remorse for those who stayed home.

Everyone in comments is saying how elegant he speaks, compared to Trump. Obama was the most elegant speaking man on the planet, but where did that get the US. I don’t care how anyone speaks, just so long they get RESULTS.

The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children. We have entire countries we could fill with the homeless and incarcerated, and veterans who see little to no positive treatment or respect within the job market. Things are already very very bad here in the states. I don't think many Americans realize how bad the economy is. Tariffs will force US companies to reduce the outsourcing of jobs, and force other countries who are over-reliant on trade from the States, to cultivate their own self-sufficiency. This may seem hypocritical when it comes to China, but that isn't a problem you can solve overnight. \n\nTo make it clear, Americans are going to suffer in the wake of this tariff decision, but that is the price we pay to force ourselves to change. We have made ourselves into a very weak country because of overreliance on other countries trade, and other countries overreliance on our intelligence, infrastructure, medical advancements, technological advancements, and defense capabilities. The american consumer and taxpayer front the bills for all of this, and they are suffering. This isn't a war on the rest of the world. It us telling everyone else that we can no longer be relied upon because we are weak. \n\nI didnt' even vote Trump the first two times he ran. But things have now gotten so bad that I was forced into voting for him this time. Why? Because he's a bull in a china shop. I expect him to tear every damn thing apart he can within our government. I want everything destroyed so it can be rebuilt by people who aren't complacent.

Trump went against the trade deal that he made with Canada and Mexico when he renegotiated the existing deal during his first term. Trump called his deal with them beautiful and perfect. Trump does not keep the deals he makes to other countries or to the Americans who voted for him. \n\nTrump's final push in his campaign was to cut costs for Americans at the checkout, chuckling at the strange sound of the word 'groceries' to him. He has never worried about or dealt with buying groceries. The moment he got back into office, he said that lower prices wasn't happening and that the American people would suffer. \n\nThen he and Republicans began cuts in jobs and government services to Americans as well as others in the world, so that no one can trust Trump --- and in the case of others in the world, it reflects so bad on the U.S. and against any trust in the U.S. anymore. No president has ever done so much damage at home and abroad so quickly. \n\nTrump is the Deceiver and the Destroyer. Trump doesn't care if his voters figure it out. They are no longer needed.

I live in Nashville, TN USA. I am so sorry Canada is suffering due to Trump. I do not support this move on Trump's part. I never voted for him. I have known for many years he is a dangerous narcissist. Canada is our friend. You have come to our aide in times of trouble. Our forest fires, 911 when the planes hit our twin towers. Trump wants a 4.5 Trillion dollar tax cuts for the wealthy. He sees tariffs as a way to make up some of that money alone with huge budget cuts to many of our programs. Trump is an unreasonable person who only thinks about himself. I hope he will eventually be impeached. I do not blame Canada. I blame Donald Trump and the the Republican Congress. Trump is acting destructive everywhere, where he engages. He is destroying his country because the prices in USA will go up quickly and long lasting and their stocks will fall dramatically. Inflation is USA will soar and get out of control. His policies are firing back on his own economy.\n\nCanada will have little ore none impact from these tarrifs, they will overcome this initial shock quickly and recover. They will find better partners and other ways to trade. But USA won't find anybody any more who is willing to deal with him, everybody will avoid engaging with his administration, because they are acting ruthless. Trump is a bully. He knows that Canada is vulnerable. Trump wants the Auto industry in Canada moved to the U.S.. This will increase the cost of vehicles in the U.S. Trump does not care. If he can harm Canada he will be pleased. He wants to control Canada.. Canada is guilty of not arranging an alternative to the Keystone pipeline. The U.S. refineries need the Canadian heavy oil. If Canada had created pipelines to Vancouver they would be in a better position but as it is Trump wins.

As an American, I am so Proud of President Trump! If my neighbors in Canada had done what was right and stopped the flow of fentanyl from coming into Canada and flowing into my country, little Justin wouldn’t be crying right now in front of a camera.
